Convert the Tab Key to Ctrl Key - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

Hi Guys,
Is there a simple registry tweak or tiny program that will convert the hardware Tab Key (hardly ever used) to be a Ctrl Key (I used to have an Athena and the Ctrl key is fantastic for navigating and editing emails and text messages as Ctrl-Left and Ctrl-right let you move the cursor one word at a time).
I have tried the PQZ tools (free) and the AE Key mapper (shareware) and they seem overkill for one simple task like this. Any ideas?

Mapping back button to OK key?

I've been trying to map the back button (delete key) on my hardware keyboard to my OK key so that I can navigate one-handed in PIE using my scroll wheel and my OK key. I'm using AE Button Plus, and I'm trying to use VJkeypress to map the virtual keypress for this event.
However, the virtual key 08 isn't working.
I have a .lnk file with 52#"\Program Files\vijay555\VJKeyPress\VJKeyPress.exe" 08 and it doesn't work. If I change it to 91 then I can get the start menu to pop up.
Is there a different set of virtual keys for WM6?
I currently have a long press of my OK key to the left softkey, and this allows me to navigate back, but I can't use it in fullscreen mode in PIE.
Anyone have any ideas?
I wrote this short MortScript and then mapped it to the side OK button (just take the .txt extension off). If you're in PIE, it presses the back button. If you're in any other application, it clicks on the "X" in the top right. That way I can use the left-side controls in PIE. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the script. However, it doesn't work in PIE if you use full screen, which was the same issue I was having just mapping the left soft key to the OK key.
Is there a way to simulate a keyboard press (backspace) in Mortscript instead?
Try the command "SendBackspace" (without the quotes). I think that will do it.

PTT Button

Just wondering if it is possible to remap the PTT button so it does the same thing as the center button on the 'D-Pad'.
I removed the PTT registry keys so that it no longer runs the AT&T PTT program, and I have spb Pocket Plus installed so I am able to map the key.
spb just doesn't offer that specific action to map the ptt key to. I have also found where I would be able to create an action in the registry, I just don't know what key values to make..
\HKLM\ButtonApps\Spb Pocket Plus\ is the location of the commands i can map to. In the folder there is a [Close] folder and in it there are 3 reg keys.
"""
(Default) (value not set)
AppFilePath \Program Files\PocketPlus\ActionSender.exe
Parameters -key PLUSACTION{0016|00000000} Close
"""
I wanted to create a new folder for [Execute] (or something) and have it send the d-pad execute key... is that possible?
Or is there just a way to edit the registry and add mapping for the PTT to execute manually?
There is a lot of info re this on this site. Search for PTT and I believe you will find how to do this.
I tried and found threads about mapping the PTT button. And I can map it to a program, no problem. but I want to map it to the d-pad 'action' key (center key on the kaiser), which is not a program. I just don't know where to find the registry keys for the d-pad.

mapping panels button without software like AE Button

Hi there!
Anyone know of a way to map the panels button to the start menu, without the use of software like AE Button? Perhaps a registry change? Because AE Button comes also with a task manager and stuff which I don't want. And the panels button becomes available when using a "lite" ROM from one of the cooks.
Thanks!
Its easy to map it to any .exe, I have it mapped to Launch Manager http://www.fantasticbytes.com/downloads/launchmanager.
Instructions can be found from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=448067&highlight=remap+panel+button.
Start menu can be a problem without programs.
Thanks for the answer!
I can't seem to assign it to an Executable though.
With a registry editor I went to HKLM\Software\SonyEricsson\PanelManager\
added a string value with name: Launcher, and string: \..\Program Files\WkTASK\WkTaskCmd.exe
It doens't seem to work (yes, I've soft resetted the device).
Any idea? Thanks!
It works 100%. You made some mistake.

smartskey like app for fuze

for anyone thats used the old htc wizard you might remember an app called smartskey that would remap the two softkeys long presses long press the left soft key you can have the start menu open long press the right soft key and it would close the app. Smartskey worked perfectly on my hermes and my kaiser but on my fuze it doesnt work at all. Is there anyway to make an app that can remap the long press functions of the home and back keys for the fuze?
The only one I've found is DredSensor. It allows you to customize click, double click and double tap for all four of the hard buttons.
The Smartskey also lets you remap the Volume buttons to Page Up/Down behaviors too... which still kinda work. It also allows mapping the D-pad's Up/Down/Left/Right behaviors to launch apps.
The Smartskey app was a gem. I would love to see it ported to the Raph
wth... double posted

Remap àü button on X1?

Since I have no use of the àü button on the keyboard (I always use sym anyways), is it possible to remap this button to CTRL?
(I often use PocketPutty client on the phone and I always today have to take out the soft keyboard to do CTRL+O (Save in nano) or CTRL+X (Exit in nano))
Any that knows a registry tweak or something?
