How do all. I just put my Kaiser on ebay if anyone is interested

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270204139064
sorry forgot the link in the last message

i have had to put it in another ad due to Nigerian scammers!
heres the new ad
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI....m=270204532416&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=017

how did you get all the scratches on it?

just by having it in my pocket with my keys in it. and one on the bottom where it got scratched on a wall. the scratches are only on the housing as the screen is in very good condition still. i dont know why they changed the material of the case from the hermes really. Had my hermes a lot longer and still looks brand new.

How did you know the scammers were Nigerian?

because they registed there ebay account in germany but yet they ask to send to a Nigerian address. they also sent me a email that was ment to be from paypal saying that i have been paid the money into my paypal account but then once you look at www.paypal.com there hasnt been anything put in. i will copy and paste everything so you can all see what kind of thing to look out for

Yep i had exactly the same thing happen to me when i tried to sell my vario 3 on ebay. please send to my cousin in nigeria etc etc. the eails did look quite good but they are not perfect, and they get slightly more "aggressive" than ebay lol i just sent them to ebay's spoof email section and to be honest im glad i never sold my kaiser now!!

aye i had a girlfriend that once fell for the scam. daft bleeder eh. i do like the Kaiser but i also got a Hermes and now a Artemis. can get the most for the Kaiser and am skint so thought what the hell.

woohoo 1 bid on ebay already! any more of you out there interested in bidding please feel free

Selling your PDA to Malasia/Nigeria ? SCAMMER or not ?

Hi everyone.
Im wanting replies from worldwide. especially Nigeria and Malasia.
I sold my PDA on ebay to a guy in Malasia, and he wants me to post it to Nigeria.
He wants to pay by postal order. So i have quoted him £358.00 total price.
and i told him i won't post it until payment is recieved.
It sounds like a SCAMMER... right?
The line 'Im buying it as a birthday gift' came up in an email...
I suppose if payment arrives, it arrives. If not I can relist it...
It's just a pain in the a$$.
Just as you say, wait for the payment to arrive. If it doesn't arrive within the timeframe you told the buyer to pay within, just list it again. ALso check out his feedback and see if he has bought more stuff like PDA's, phones, assecoiries etc and see if he paid in time...If he has not bought anything like this before and his feedback is negative, be very carefull.
His feedback was zero.
he registered ten minutes before buying my PDA.
he gave two fake addresses.
I have left him negative feedback.
I have recovered my final value fee,
and i can relist the item for free.
Yep, that was a scammer allright. Good that you did not fall for it. Better luck with your next auction.

Please advise with eBay transaction

Chaps some advice please
Sold my xbox 360 for around £320 on ebay
Guy paid via paypal echeque
Took around 10 days to clear and its gone through today.
I emailed the guy and asked why he paid via echeque and not normal instant pay via paypal. In his response he was a little confused as to why it was echeque and came back to me later and found that his card had expired and hence the echeque. He asked me to refund the echeque, and he would repay via proper paypal with his new card details. I told him to leave it as paypal where processing it, he agreed.
Now the problem is that although the cash has cleared, he isnt verified and that means that I am a seller am not protected. What do you suggest? Should I ship the item? I sold something of similar value on ebay previously, and they reversed the transaction because the account had be hijacked. I don’t trust paypal anymore….
Wait with shipping before you are 100% sure you got the money!!
just fyi i bought a prophet battery on ebay, it arrived today. I paid as usual using paypal and only found out after a week that I had paid by e-cheque.
It took about a month arrive so probably the seller decided to wait a bit as well.
I didn't even know what an e-cheque was!

Beware of Paypal
I was involved in a law suit with them 2 years ago. I lost over $1300.00 over 2 years in 2 transactions which there were disputes from credit card co's. and it was 6 months or more after the transactions took place. Paypal would not give me any info on the dispute they just took the money out of my account. I asked for the name of the person and the card number or the contact info with the credit card co. and Paypal said they would dispute it for me and let me know within 90 days and that they couldn't give me info because of privacy issues and to just trust them . Well I trusted them I lost $1300.00 $950 the first time and then $350 this was 5 years ago 3 years ago I was contacted by a law firm that invited me to join a class action suit. Paypal lost the case 9.5 million, my end $24.73 but you know I am happy Paypal had to pay since I only got 25 bucks you can imagine how many people were included in that judgment .We know the Law firm got half but 4.5 million and divided that into payments the size of mine there must have been thousands of people that had the same problem i did. They claim not to be Bank but charge fees as a bank. Because they are not a Bank they are not regulated by the federal government and that make it easy for them to do what they can get away with, whereas a Bank all the T's must be crossed and numbers have to add up. I do not leave money in Paypal I no longer link them with a Real Bank. I use a credit card that has a $300.00 limit to link to Paypal if you like to ebay you almost have to use Paypal unless the Seller has a store and they route u to their credit card service and then your taken a chance.
E-checks
One more thing if Paypal paid with a e-check from your account that means you linked a Checking Account to Paypal when you signed up to paypal and any time you buy something and you do not have enough money in your paypal account to pay for the item. Then Paypal will automatically setup an e-check payment from your bank account. This is dangerous because if someone gets your Id info even though you have no money in your paypal account they can still get access to your linked checking account by making a payment to someone via Paypal, Paypal will simply turn it into a e-check and start the process of withdrawing the funds from you bank account. Be careful !
many thanks for the info guys.
i'll wait until the funds clear into my bank account and then ship it out
cheers

Bought a phone on eBay, still havn't received it... (need advice)

Payment was completed on August 30, shipping label was apparently printed on September 10 (according to tracking number) and I still havn't received it.
This is the item, I live in Quebec, Canada. My tracking number says this:
Label/Receipt Number: CV00 5036 863U S
Status: Electronic Shipping Info Received
The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on September 10, 2008 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later.

It has been 26 working days since the payment was completed and 17 since the shipping label was printed. Should I mark it as not received or should I wait?
After 2 weeks you can file a dispute with PayPal, I'd do that if I were you. Contact the seller and let him know, give him a chance to get it to you within a reasonable amount of time from now, and if he does mark the dispute as resolved. A month is a ridiculous amount of time to wait for an item, I would've filed a complaint a long time ago.
how did you pay for the item? credit card, bank card..
I paid with PayPal and just filed a dispute. Thankfully he told me he would cooperate.

Perfect, once you get the item just mark the dispute with PayPal as "resolved" and it won't go against either of you. I like doing this instead of just contacting (especially after an entire month) because it gives a little nudge that lets him know you really want your item.

LOL mysteriously you will get your shipment...5 bucks says there will be something wrong with it.
Check your tracking number now, does it say shipped or still electronic shipping info received? If it still doesn't say shipped, but he's claiming it has been shipped, call PayPal and tell them what's up. The number is 1-888-221-1161, but you have to go to paypal.com and click "contact us", then "by phone" to get a special PIN to use.
Edit: Just checked it myself, still says electronic shipping info received. This means he has not yet delivered the package to USPS, just printed out a shipping label through PayPal.

That's what I'm thinking too. He said he was going to look tomorrow (which is today). He's in another time zone so I'll make a claim tomorrow.
Maybe he didn't want a price this low?

Am i being scammed??

Can anyone please tell me if emails from paypal come from the email address
[email protected]
as i think someone is trying to scam me
I'd say probably. I did a WHOIS on Paypal.com and compared the results to intr-paypal.com, and paypal.com had lots of information available while intr-paypal.com had little to no information, which a scammer would do and a legitimate business wouldn't. I also visited intr-paypal.com, and it's a blank site made with Google Sites. I highly recommend forwarding the emails to [email protected], and reporting the fake site, as detailed here.
Someone must know i'll tell you all the story anyway, i sold somthing to someone overseas for 350gbp, they paid via paypal, paypal sent me an email and said that they have receive the money and are holding on to it until i sent them proof of postage, i did this but am still yet to receive the money ........ earler 2day that person contacted me and wanted to buy somthing else i had for sale on ebay, before i could tell him i already sold it he paid again by the same way, i contacted paypal on the address they were emailing me from as above, they advised me that they could not refund the money as a security precaution to prevent scamming, and me and the buyer need to arrange a method of refund, the buyer wanted me to pay by western union, so i told paypal i would but only if the money was cleared in my paypal account first, paypal replied saying that they will not credit my account until i have shown them proof of the refund,
Is this for real or am i being scammed?
here is the last email paypal sent me
Thanks for the swift response, We regret to inform you that the funds can't be credited to your account until we see a prove of refund, we got an email from the buyer saying that the agreed method is Western Union Money Transfer, so we want you to go ahead and make the refund of £550.00 GBP through western union and then get back to us with the transfer details as requested below .
Sender's Name :
Sender's Address :
MTCN Number (Money Transfer Control Number) :
Security Question & Answer :
Once you make the refund get back to us with the above information and we would release the funds to your account immediately, Also you are advised not to send the Western Union details to the buyer until you're being told to do so, We won't disclose the Western Union information to the buyer until the funds has been successfully transferred to your account, You may ask the buyer's for his address for the Western Union Transfer.

Scam Scam Scam - this is a Scam. (Paypal did NOT send that)
That is so riddled with poor grammar, odd phrases and language you do not expect from a professional organisation. I've seen better grammar from my friends in The Bank of Burkino Fasso and at least he was offering me $90,000,000,000.
That is NOT from Paypal. Speak to Paypal using official links and numbers.
I'd also look at the email "headers" and look for the LAST received from IP number. Then do a Whois search to see it's source. (Nigeria is statistically likely)
Mike
Mike you got in in one mate . . . Nigera lol Im so dumb sumtimes i make myself laff lol
I guess some people need money... And yeah... PayPal wouldn't have such bad grammar.

The last one is disputable, but the first two are definite scammers. Explain to me, how can two different addresses, one an estate, the other a bus stop, have the same postal code? Unless both go to the same scamming scheme.

Some guy asked "how much to clean 10 laptops and reinstall Windows on them", I said "$150 each, plus cost of 10 Windows licenses". He promptly replied that he would ship the computers and 10 copies of Windows, COD, and would send a money order for $1500 + shipping so I could pay the delivery driver and keep the balance. All he needed was a list of personal info including my address.
Maybe I missed out on some easy money when I told him to "f#@% off", I'm content to believe I avoided a scam.

Explain to me, how can two different addresses, one an estate, the other a bus stop, have the same postal code? Unless both go to the same scamming scheme.

In some places an institution or something may have its own postal code, but in most places a postal code simply indicates a geographic area. For example there are over 30,000 people that live within my postal code (and 12 registered sex offenders apparently haha). THAT is how those 2 places can have the same one, lol
Now I'm not arguing that those Nigerians aren't scamming you, they certainly are trying, just letting you know about postal codes, lol.
If they're asking for your paypal information I would give it to them and let them pay, then immediately take the money out and put it in your bank, and then never send them an item. The worst that happens is Paypal tries to get the money back when it's found out the scammer used someone else's account or something. I seriously doubt that a scammer is going to file a dispute using a stolen account to try to get money back. Sounds like a good way to get some free money, lol
Hahahaha glad to see you didn't fall for it. I've had a few run-ins with these scumbags, my most recent being documented here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=774846
You might get a kick out of that

Yeah, I could've literally roll down on the floor
Anyway, that mona rio decided to spam my inbox by sending an email every hour telling me "I awaits your reply". I have about 300 of those in my Gmail threaded into 1 conversation. Should I send a pile of *dog feces* to those scammers? Leave a reply everyone!
Somehow I don't think that would make it very far past customs checkpoint lol.
You could send him an empty box (or leave a "pleasant" note inside, up to you ), and "forget" to put enough postage on it. Also "forget" to write a return address.
When he gets the box, he'll have to fork out some cash to make up the difference. Win.
You get this type of scam on the UK equivalent 'Gumtree'. If you post any form of electronics give it a few hours and you'll have many replys from these scammers all wanting shipping to Nigeria. The best bet is just to put it on eBay.
I will NEVER vacation in Nigeria.
good day.
He seemed legitimate... He gots dem hookz upz!
I would

Back years ago when I was doing the online dating thing, I used to get scammers contacting me. Mostly from their messages they seemed Russian or spoke some kind of slavic language based on the words they left out and such. Most claimed to be doctors or supermodels who wanted me to move them to the US so they could be my soulmate.
One time I had a profile up on Yahoo Personals and was contacted via Yahoo instant messenger by a nice looking african girl (based on her profile picture) who said that she had recently came to the US to marry a man and he left her behind at a hotel and he didn't pay the bill. She said that the hotel manager was holding her hostage until the bill was paid. She said she needed me to contact the hotel and talk to them and tell them I was a good american friend who promised that she would return with the money etc etc and leave him a small deposit as a gesture of good faith. (*DING DING DING*)
I said "You need to contact your local embassy or consulate, they will help you" and she just kept on pleading and pleading and I just kept on repeating the same thing and finally blocked "her".
would of been an epic troll to ask for the address of the hotel and say ok im on my way ! and a few hours later u message him like: ok im here but wheres the room ??
