I dont know. It would be nice if there could at least be a pulse instead of the long vibe. Syncing to ringtone may be too much to ask.
that why i love my sidekick, but my old nokia 6101 did ti

Looping Ringtones Delay
Ring tone has a standard 3 seconds delay before repeating. You can set the delay from 0 second to how many second that you want.
Code:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sounds\RingTone0
Change 'Script' from 'av0pw3r' to 'av0pr' and you'll get 0 sec delay.
OR change it to
av0pw1r = wait for 1 sec
av0pw2r = wait for 2 sec
and so on...
Plus..heres the code
a - stands for display
r - repeat/replay the script again
c - sets the volume C50, c150, c100
f - means flash .. f1 flash for 1 second and f0 stands for flash continuously
p -means play ringtone
v- vibrate then incorporate with number to state how many seconds it will vibrate example. v3 vibrate for 3seconds or v - for continous
w - stands for wait or pause then specify how many seconds like w3(wait for 3 seconds)
heres the example
Flash - af1w60f0
Ring - apw3r
Ring Once - ap
Increasing Ring - c50apw3c150r
Vibrate Then Ring - v3w3apw3r
Vibrate - av3w3r
Short Vibrate - av1w3r
Vibrate Long Then Ring - v3w3v3w3apw3r
Vibrate And Ring - av0pw3r
Increasing Ring And Vibrate - c50apv3w3c150r
Fast Vibrate And Flash - af1v1w1f0r
Vibrate and Ring Continously without pausing - av0pr
I was trying to find a solution for this a month ago, but with no success. I think there is not a cab for this. Never tried that registry hack, but it could work.
Edit: ok, I tried to change the registry, it is working but I dont know what script to use when u want to play ringtone with a pulsating vibration.

Apparently this tweak does the commands in a sequenced order and not simultaneously. If you have a long Ring Tone (such as a Song) it won't do other commands until the "P - Play Ringtone" finishes up.
If you have a short ringtone (such as a *beep*) you could do a "av1pr" for a pulse+beeping ringtone. It kinda sucks, I know =(

I think that would be the worst ringtone ever.

yes, that is exactly what I am doing. I remember that I had once a pulse vibration, but it was just with a special ringtone and I cant remember what ringtone it was.
Edit:
Sorry, I just realize it was a short ringtone and it only looked like it was a pulsating vibration.
ha ..
i was trying to find a solution for this too...
But i allways came back to the information,
that it works like a batch, not at the same time.
If the ringtone is e.g. a long music file it will play
it to its end until the next vibration starts...
very annoying..
Is there anyway to make it vibrate for a shorter time when a text arrives?. At the moment the vibration makes as much noise and disturbance as having the ring tone on- not so good when you are trying to be discreet.
I hate to bump such an old message but does anyone have a solution for this? I did a search and can find only options for Ring vibrate changes... the SMS vibrate I have on this ROM is long and annoying. Before, I had just 3 short bursts.... Honestly, I would like just 1 short one!
If you go to start, settings, sounds and notifications, you can configure some things, but not set 3 vibrations to one, but you can set the vibration off

You may as well put it on silent then?
what you need is a registry change. Which one though is a question I can't answer.
I have the 1.3 NmLs rom, and set on vribation, i only get one vibration, for a few seconds.
I was also wondering if someone could point me to the registry change for sms vibrations. On Dutty's older roms, I had 3 short bursts.... on his version 4 ROM, its a longer single one. I really would like a short discreet one....
I am sure there must be a way. Heck you can even control the haptic feedback on some keyboards like finger keyboard 2.1.... Can someone please point me in the right direction?
Thanks!

I have a solution but there's a catch. It's only a workaround and only allows *.wav files as ringtones.
You can configure your own virbation sequence. It's not user friendly though
after installation you will have some new files under /mydocuments
among those are
v100.vibrp files. These are scripts containing the *.wav file for the sound, and the ringing sequence
You can then select those virb files as if they were normal ringtones in your sound settings
you can alter the ringing sequence to whatever you like - it requires some trial and error. You can alter the wav files as well.
I can upload a file which results in 3 short vibrations if you can't manage to configure it.
Is there seriously no easy registry fix for this? In my current rom the vibration is for like 1234312 seconds and it really annoys me and the rest of the world.
there is none, but my above fix works just fine
Is there any software that i configure a vibration time in my incoming calls?
mine is vibrating full time. when the xperia start the ringtone the vibration do not pause or stop till i answer the call
can someone help or suggest something?
In Sounds & Notifications you have the possibility to choose between ring only, vibrate only, ring and vibrate (it seems like you have chosen this setting) and the alternative of starting with vibration and ringing afterwards.
If this is not enough for you there is the possibility to adapt the sequence of the incoming call notification either in the registry (I don't know the keys though) or by using tweaking software such as SK Tools.
Thanks

Thank you! I did a long search about it and I found Vibro which is what i'm looking for
I found a program about it long long ago,but it not perfect
It's hard to understand why there is no LED on the Nokia 8, not necessarily a color one like on my trusty Lenovo P2, even a white one would do the trick for notifications...
Anyway I don't like audio on notifications so I was hoping to have the phone vibrate but that doesn't seem possible, am I missing something ? Thanks for any help !
Just turn Notification/Phone ring Volume to 0 should be vibration only

That would also mute phone rings, which I doubt OP wants.
@webvan You can manually turn of notification sounds for each app by long-pressing an app icon and tap: App Info -> App notifications -> Messages -> Sound -> None.
Thanks, yes I'd still like the phone to ring !
Will try the app by app setting.
ok so I tried that method and you can indeed dig into the notifications and when they are set to a high or above importance you can activate "vibrate" and deactivate "sounds". Thanks !

Seems crazy that 10 years into Android development there is no option to only make your phone vibrate when a notification arrives instead of making a sound !

May I ask what apps you are trying to turn off sound notifications? For Instant Messaging apps like Viber, Signal, Telegram, etc. I can easily turn the sound notification OFF and leave the vibration option ON. Some apps don't have those options simply because they don't send and/or display notifications.
It's strange to hear you can't do that. Try exploring all the options around the Notification Settings in each app.
Oops, had edited my message in the meantime! Yes I found that the trick is to set importance of the notification to high or above to get control of the sound+vibration settings. All good now!
Good Morning,
I just picked up my Samsung Galaxy Note 9 this Sunday and I'm loving it so far. The only problem is I work in a location where I need my ringtone off but the ability to hear my notification and messaging alerts. Kind of like a beeper/pager. Is this something I can do on the Note 9?
Thank you

Yeah that's super easy. Hit volume down, and a volume slider will appear. Then hit that little arrow in the top right of the volume slider. That will expand it to include Ringtone, Media, Notifications, System, and Bixby Voice (if you set it up). You can adjust them individually that way.

When I attempt to mute/vibrate my Ringtone. My Notifications and System options automatically white out so that I cannot change them.
Ultimately I want Ringtone (Phone Calls) on vibrate all the time and my Messages Notifications to play a small chime.

? You're right. Guess I never tried it, just assumed it would work.
Ok, do this: Go to Settings, then Sounds and Vibrations. Click on Ringtone. Then set it to Silent.

My apologies for the delay in the response. I set it up and did some testing and this is working perfectly. Thank you very much for the reply. I greatly appreciate your help. :good:
