I installed new rom ( NBD 8.3 ) After that touch screen is not working
I had a similar issue with another rom the other day, it turned out to be totally unrelated to the flashing of the new rom. I found i had a small piece of lint stuck between the screen and the screen surround, cleaned it out and the touchscreen worked perfectly again. Check really good around the edges of the screen to make sure there isn't any debris pressing on the screen. Then if it still doesn't work, try to flash back to original rom and reflash the new one and see if that resolves the issue.

I just replaced a screen in a Trinity (Dopod D810). The touchscreen initially wasn't calibrated correctly so I ran the alignment tool in the settings, and after a few attempts, I calibrated it properly and the touchscreen was working perfectly. Now the touchscreen is not working properly. The top half of the screen responds to touch, but no matter where I press in that region, the screen thinks I'm pressing the top-right corner. When I run the alignment again, it responds to all the touchpoints but it never successfully calibrates and it keeps bringing me back to the alignment screen.
The current settings in the registry entry for touch calibration are as follows:
484,558 244,286 263,815 750,820 707,295
I've found a few other threads here (the most helpful being http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=355010) and I've tried the settings from that thread. The screen seems more responsive, but still not correct because the bottom half hardly responds and the top half seems to respond when it feels like it.
Can someone please post their D810 touchscreen settings so I can try it? I've tried the settings from my Touch Cruise, but the screen is still doing weird things.
This is a customer's phone so I need to have this fixed ASAP.
I'm thinking that it may be a faulty digitizer, but that won't explain why it worked perfectly when I first calibrated it.
UPDATE: NOT FIXED yet, but now the backlight is dead. I just turned it off, and then turned it on again, but I can only see the screen content if I shine a torch onto the screen. The LCD hasn't leaked. The backlight just died and the connectors in the phone are fine. Perhaps this was a dodgy screen.
Any ideas?!
since the device has a recessed screen, take the cover off to get at it.
take a soft cloth or something and clean off all the garbage on the digitizer and back of the plastic. make sure everything around the lcd is free of dirt.
usually, if there is something pushing down on the digitizer while you calibrate it, it will totally bork the alignment over the course of 10 minutes to an hour.
my kaiser is currently having this issue, though i put it though alot more hell then i should have... so i suspect its suffering from other issues.
i am having problems with my touch screen on my other wing there is no respone at all. can anyone help at all?
did you flash a custom rom? have you tried a hard reset? the same thing happened to me when i first turned on my wing i had to hard reset and its happened after flashing a new custom rom also just reflashed the rom and all was good, also iv heard that the touch screen can just go out then you have to replace it, but i dont know much about that
Do you have a screen protector on? The last time I put one on, I had pushed the edges of the protector under the edge of my phone. The result was my touch screen would not work.
today my phone was working perfectly, but i took it out of my pocket during the day and my screen appeared as if it was cracked in some way. but it wasnt it was coming up like negative of everything. (can still sorta see everything) it also will sometimes flash back to normal, or if i push on the screen in the certain spot it will come back.
im figuring that the cable is unhooked or something. Anyone have any Suggestions ????
Hi,
the other day I dropped my Kaiser on its screen and it cracked . I ordered a new one and fitted it from a guide on youtube. Everything seems to work fine except the screen is totally unresponsive to touch. I guess this just means its nackered - something broke inside, but seeing as the new screen had a new touch part built into it and everything else still works, I thought I'd ask if anyone had any suggestions on the off chance.
Thanks
If you're certain there was also a digitizer, check the connection. I haven't done a Kaiser screen, but I had to reseat the ribbons on my Excalibur more than once before everything kicked off.
I recently upgraded my kaiser with a cooked ROM (shifu 10) radio 3.34 i guess. It worked good. After some days it started giving problem with touch. The right soft key was working continuously without even pressing it. When this happens the power button also stops responding , so i have to pull out the battery to turn of the phone. Then i loaded it with original HTC ROM WM 6.1 radio 3.28/3.29. it worked fine for some hours then the problem re appeared. then after some hours the lcd stopped responding to touch , it responds sometimes.. The keyboard worked fine. Then i went to HTC customer care center. They said LCD needs to be replaced. After getting the LCD replaced the problem persisted. what could be the problem???? Please help...
Have you tried...
Have you tried realigning the screen found in setting/ screen/ align screen?
I had an issue similiar at one time, my stylus really wasnt working well at all i was having to push hard with my fat fingers for touch to work. realigning solved my problem. Worth a try.
When i re installed ROM, i couldn't align the screen properly as it was not responding to touch. I'm sure it's not screen alignment problem. Why didn't touch work properly even after LCD REPLACEMENT?
Check this out. I believe this is your problem.
