Can't upgrade ROM with Windows Vista RC1

HI to all, i'm a newbie here and this is my first time to write and ask for help here. I been read the entire forum to get all info about the wizard phone and i really like this forum here. Give me alot of info about my phone, so i hope all people here can read first before ask question.
After a long search here, i still can't find my answer so i hope someone can help me. I just install the windows vista rc1 and hack the windows mobile based device working for it and i can sync everything and install software to mobile but when i try to upgrade my rom it won't work??? it say usb not connected but its connected at all. Anyone have any idea my happen here?

If you use RegEdit to add a key called "WHOS" under the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft key in the registry, connect your Windows Mobile 5.0 device and go to Windows Update, a new 7.0MB update will be available that enables Windows Mobile Device Center. This should let you do the update.

I done it already, like im say i can run the windows mobile based device with no problem for sync with my phone but when i try to upgrade the rom, the rom program will say error no usb connection. hope this will make it clear. thanks for ur help.

nope,works fine with me. i have asus p4pe-deluxe MB with usb 2.0 and a usb cable from canon.
my only problem is i dnt have license key,so m only on 14 days trial

hi there, i tried upgrading my 02 xda executive from the software update on O2 website.my active sync 4.1 stopped working in midst and my xda is nt working now.and my pc isnt recognising the xda. the xda isnt starting up its completely dead.I tried hitting the 2 softkeys and the soft reset button and the screen lights up and it says to rollback to factory setting hit 0 zero, but nothing happens................plz help would be appreciated.http://www.my-xda.com/xdaExecSoftware.jsp
also the screen now has USB and v1.00 over it and shows nothing but this and not starting up and my pc pops a message up saying that an unknown usb device and cant be connected

at buddy28, try to reflash it with atleast latest AKU 2.* for universal,just click ur softreset button so that the bootloader will appear again then flash with new rom(be careful though if ur not PRO)

For ArtTX, im now using the Asus Barebone T2-p computer and i have try with another computer with windows vista rc1, it also don't working. It is possible because i'm using vista rc1 not vista beta2?

I'm using Vista RC1 and I cant flash my Wizard too

hmmm.... seem like all the rom upgrade doesn't support vista RC1....thats too bad. Oh well have to switch back to windows xp.

I have an ALPINE which is stuck on "windows mobile" screen

Hi all PDA and HTC lovers.I have an ALPINE which is stuck on "windows mobile" screen. Thats because I was upgrading a new rom but during upgrade connection between my PDA and my PC was interrupted then I got many error messages on screen but it was too late now I cant get my ALPINE into bootloader mode and I only can see "windows mobile" screen when I plugged charger.Is it possible to make it run my alpine again. I would be very pleased if you could help.

Stuck on window mobile screen
I got similar problem on XDA Exec last week and fixed it. I do not know whether the steps will help on you XDA IIi or not.
I was upgrading the XDA Exec to a newer ROM version and keep getting country error code. Whatever I did caused the device to stuck on window mobile screen. I simply put the device into the cradle after reseting it. The screen still shown the window mobile image. I ran the ROM update program again (I think it is MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe). It showed an error but I ran it again withthout taking my device out of the cradle. It run sucessful the second time.
I notice that when the program runs, it close ActiveSync application from your desktop and the device screen turns to black screen with some simple texts on it.

Selcuk, have you solved ur IIi yet? and which Rom were you trying to install? what was the reason of getting the upgrade interupted? I can upload the PUGs rom if you want.

hi my fellow Siddiqui I couldnt solve that problem yet.And I tried to upgrade it again and couldnt manage to do that **** upgade please help me...Do I need to send it to HTC to Dubai? and I dont know how much does it cost ? can u please tell me if u know more about this topic?

which Rom were you trying to install? what was the reason of getting the upgrade interupted/corrupted? I can upload the PUGs rom (as I am using it and its fantastic) if you want with the instructions.

I was trying to upgrade to Alpine_Ext-1.11.162_Radio-1.04_O2stuffstripped_Camera_Fixed
rom but I couldnt. Can you please upload any other which will help me to save my alpine if possible....and I can try PUGs rom thnks so much

Ive got a big problem with my Qtek 9090..I wanted to flash my OS to Wm6 but during the instalation the device lost connectivity..I dont know how and since than i cannot start it again...i cannot get to the bootloader mode
what should I do???

Did you try holding record-power +reset?
I had some of these issues before, disconnecting, battery down, ... but always managed to get in 'usb-mode' after which you can retry the flash update...
If it doesn't work, give us some more info what happens, what you tried and what did what... we'll (try to) help you out

I have the same problem, i try to updated to Helmi WM6 in my desktop Windows Vista, but my BA never come for the USB V2.07

YES !!! same here.... at 37% my connection lost and i can't TURN IT BACK ON AGAIN .... How come ? What should I do ?

I've had this problem. We've had to flash about 250+ devices and four of them were disconnected before 100% download.
we've not been able to do anything with these devices except just write them off and not use them.
If anyone knows how we will be able to get them working again it would be greatly appreciated.

hi, i am trying to upgrade my himalaya to wm6 but whenever i try to do this my ppc goes off when i run updateutillity. it is in boot loader mode and even in usb mode which is required but i dont know whats going on. please can u people help me out of this.thanks

yes i have done the same and as i run himalayaupdate no id it runs and screen appears that your device will upgrade from this version to etc. but it turns off while it is preparing to erase the rom. please looking further help. thanks

first of all, which Windows are you running ?
Try to connect your USB Cable Directly to the back of your PC (not the exteder)
Try to replace the Cable if you can to test
Make sure your battery is charged fully (charge with a Wall Charger that came with it!!! not the USB)

Qhen I put the latest version of the radio on my Blueangel i see the error messege. I see how I can pot new version of Radion on the blue angel here.

i make step by step everything but show me error messege then I make 7th point from this link again show error messege in the program.My pocket PC now is don't show anything. When put the phone on the stand now show only USB and V2.08 under them. nothing light and nothing power on. I try to make hard reset on the phone (press restart buton and power on buton) but do nothing on the screen. I outside the battery and sim card about 10 minutes , then put again into the phone now the phone doing nothing when i try to turn on. I don't know whats happened can anybody help me?? Is my phone dead ?? ;(

now i try to make other way to put another radio but nothing work ... i am dissapointed pls help ...

ok, i understand your situation and i think your phone is not dead, but to find out and to find a way to a solution, you have to give a little more information about what happened:
-what error did you get?
-at what point exactly?
- what os are you using on your pc?
- what rom are you using on the blueangel?
- are you sure, it is a blueangel and not a harrier?
- was your battery fully charged at the point of the first upgrade attempt?
- was the sim card in the device?
- was the sd card in the device?
many people get stuck in bootloader (ok, most of them with a rom upgrade, not the radio, but anyways). until now, we got them all out of that problem and got their devices running again, but it is hard to guess from here, what went wrong, when you only describe your emotional status and not the device's

now if you can help me i want to put into my qtek 9090 phone new radio version and another rom with manila because it's easyly to using for me.Now can you help me to install new radio version now is 1.12 I install 6.5 rom but now i want change it with radio and new rom with manila.Now i don't have any error in the phone after flashing rom now it's ok.
I use in my PC windows 7
now in blue angel (qtek 9090) is 6.5 but don't know which version or distribution
I dont have sim card or sd card in phone wehn installing
battery is goot charged more than 90%

for flashing with windows 7 you need to install a special driver first, you find a tutorial and the download of the driver -=here=-.
it never worked for me though (windows 7 ultimate x64) because the x64 is somehow strange. i hope this was helpful, because i didn't really understand your question
