I have a O2 Mini S with black diamond 3.1 installed i would like to upgrade my IPL SPL from 1.05 to 3.08, I am asking this as some time back i had upgraded my radio rom to 2.71.xxx & had to reinstall the OS again after doing so..
any helps appreciated.

for me, the following worked:
- downgraded to WM5 AKU2 according to the description shown in all WM6 release threads
- updated the thing with the latest T-Mobile update
- re-flashed the OS partition (via pdocwrite.exe, you can use "shelltool" or whatever other names they gave for their wrappers). but the typho5/nb2nbf couple just does as well. only remember to leave out the unnecessary ipl/spl and not to flash the G4 one by accident. or leave out those entirely, it wont harm since you should already have a 3.08 SPL (and probably IPL) at that point.

Im having problems upgrading my qtek 9100 g3 pda to a new rom, specifically, the leaked wm6 wwe.
Currently:
IPL 1.01
SPL 2.17
GSM 02.25.11
OS 3.3.0.0
I have tried going straight to the wm6 rom but vista says the program has stopped responding. I have also tried reverting to buttons 1.05 ROM, with the same result.
Lastly, I tried reverting to the T-mobile 2.26 ROM, but this doesnt work either.
I am at a loss now, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

16. Watch the rebooting of your PDA, if BOTH IPL and SPL are 1.xx then great. Quite probably your IPL will be 1.xx and your SPL will be 2.xx. Rerun the button 1.05 ROM downgrade a second time and it will become 1.x on both IPL and SPL. You don't need to redo the unlocking.
try doing it on a machine that isnt running Vista

I tried to go to WM6 by unlocking the CID and the phone - so far so good. Read that i needed IPL/SPL 2.xx or higher so set off to search. Found IPL/SPL 3.08 so installed those to my phone. Then tried to upgrade to the WM6 official rom found on these very pages. Now every time i flash i get update error 302 at 99%.
Im almost sure its the IPL/SPL but i have nothing to backtrack to and not a lot to back this theory up as im still a newbie in the ROM area. My original versions were 1.02 each as i have a G3 O2 XDA Mini ( wizard )
im really stumped and phoneless at mo so ANY help would be grateful for.

you say with the wm6 oficcial there is not a official rom for wizard tellme what rom do you used

I bet you went from 1.02 to 3.08 without stopping at 2.xx
Maybe that's the cause?
but he says than he flashed with the oficcial rom there is no oficcial are agree

Mestrini - Yes i went straight from 1.02 to 3.08 coz i cannot find the V2.xx IPL/SPL files but i have found the updater solely for the IPL/SPL to 3.08 which is what i used.
is that any use ??
flash your phone with the tmobile 2.26, that should correct your issue. It will also give you the 2.26 version of spl/ipl
ok if you had a cid unlocked device search in the forum for the t-mo 2.26 ipl/spl after you can update for the rom as you tell

Thanks for the advice guys, ive tried several different roms and i have a consistent problem where it will not let me change the rom as ( i think ) my SPL version is still 3.08 and every ROM bombs out with "this is an upgrade only"
help me downgrade my IPL/SPL back to 1.02 pleaseeeee

i have T-Mobile MDA and Im stuck with spl 3.08
I did everything.......... and I mean EVERYTHING and nothing helps me bring back my MDA to the original T-mobile software or downgrading the SPL.
1. Downgrading my IPL to 1.01 (using button rom)
2. Unlocking CID with lokiwiz (successfully)
3. Running button rom again
The SPL still stays 3.08 after doing the above...
If there is another way to downgrade the SPL 3.08, please let me know. I really need the T-mobile original rom version.

I see jb007jb has exactly the same prob i do. i have done everything he has and am still in the same situation - IPL 1.02 & SPL 3.08?
dont suppose anyone can cook up and IPL/SPL downgrader like the one i used to upgrade to 3.08 can they coz with SPL3.08 i cant downgrade ROMS coz i keep being told i need to acquire a newer ROM for my device

Thats your problem, reflash the 1.02 rom again, both IPL and SPL have to be the same.

i know... i need to find a way to drop the SPL back to 1.02 or thereabouts. i cant flash back to the T-Moblie 2.26 ROM coz it says my SPL is too high. i upgraded my IPL and SPL using a rom updater now whatever i try i cannot drop the SPL version.

I have read the guides to unlocking and from what I see there are none that work on 3.xx SPL/IPL. I was able to downgrade the IPL but never the SPL.
I have seen several threads that say if you flash button rom (several times) it will eventually downgrade the SPL also, but all night as I worked I flashed the button ROM (about 12-15 times) and still can't downgrade the SPL from the 3.08, only IPL goes to 1.01
Tried the original Cingular ROM and it isn't accepted (I think because I have a higher SPL than the original 2.26), tried using the ShellTool, Tried SoftSPL too but none worked.
IS THERE A WAY TO DOWNGRADE THE 3.08 SPL SO THAT I CAN USE THE LOKIWIZ02 OR LOKIWIZ03. I saw a thred saying that 3.08 can't be downloaded but I also saw SEVERAL saying to just keep insisting with the Button rom that it will eventually work (but after almost 15 consecutive tries I've had it).
Any help would be GREAT.

Button ROM doesn't work for that. I tried numerous times too. The only ROMs that work to downgrade to anything else from 3.08 are the OEM releases from either T-Mo or AT&T.
The Cingular ROM isn't accepted because it checks the OS version number. I had to try several peoples' ROMs until I found one with a low enough version number to where the Cingular ROm could flash on top of it.
Try to flash T-Mobile 2.26 to bring it down to ipl/spl 2,26 then go for button's 1.05,hope it'll do the trick.

I want to downgrade my phone, too. but the original T-Mobile AKU2.0 say while reading the phones ROM-Version "only update"... so, with this no downgrade is possible.
How can i CID unlock with AKU3? I want to flash a new ROM from xda-developer as well... damn

You could probably extract the nk.nbf and use the standard tools to flash it.
The nk.nbf can usually be found in a .tmp folder in c:\documents and settings\yourname\Local Settings\Temp

Unless you are using official kjam update, otherwise please CID unlock your G3 device first, or you will face problems.

i have an i-mate that was flashed with a custom rom in an unofficial service center with an ipl / spl 2.17 , i need to restore it to official i-mate k-jam rom which is 2.16 however the updater utility states its unability (probably due to spl reported to be higher than rom) is there a way i can bypass that or even downgrade spl ?
If you have a G4 phone. Try this unremove HardSPL trick to change the IPL/SPL in your phone. This is how I have gone from 2.25.0001 to 2.26.0001 to 3.08.0001 in my phone.
You will need to find the IPL/SPL you want. Be careful about G3 versus G4 versions.

thank u , its a g3 and i could help myself by installing button rom , later i had a problem where it downgraded ipl but not spl , finaly i realised they neglected to mention one thing .... u need to restart after installing rapi before cid unlocking , and then reinstall button rom

i have updated may wizard to wm6.1 (WM 6.1 German Build 20273), but my wlan doesnt´t work and i think it is because i didn´t upgrade ipl/spl from 1.01 to .
i followed this guide "The Definitive Guide to Unlocking & Rom Upgrading G3 Wizards" but i didn´t play wm5 on it.
following steps i didn´t do:
17. My suggestion, take for what it's worth, is to download and install the T-Mobile 2.26 ROM
This will give you a strong 2.26 IPL and SPL to work with.
Now you SHOULD have a IPL and SPL of 2.26 to work with. If not, you screwed up! Don't attempt to install someone's hard work and ***** before you do these steps!
EDIT for Step 17 - Download and install the 3.08 IPL/SPL rather than the 2.26, your choice! (I suggest doing the T-Mobile 2.26 first but that's me
