Herald Hackers,
I've noticed that some roms do not have the button 5 press & hold function assigned and some have it assigned to Voice Speed Dial or VoiceCommand or to toggle vibrate/ring.
I've searched through the forums off and on for months now and I haven't come across a way to change the function on the wing to toggle ring/vibrate... except the vibraswitch program which messes with the radio. I've tried CommButton-Toggle-Vibrate-Fix.CAB and others as well but they don't seem to override the setting that's cooked in.
Does anyone know how to change this?
Many Thanks!

ttran,
I don't think so. I use your 2.6 ROM but I used to use TouchIT where it was cooked so that button 5 toggled vibrate/ring.
Thanks!

This will be added on the new updated relase v2.8.
The Tmobile ROM doesn't have it by default. But the Herald ROM does. Ttran, PM me with the registry keys if you have them.
Thanks
Thanks ttran! You Rock!
Can't wait for 2.8!

With the lack of an an actual AT&T 6.1 ROM for the tilt does anyone know a way I might be able to hack PTT functionality back into my device? It makes my work a lot easier and I'd hate to have to give up all of the benefits of 6.1 and cooked ROMs for this one function. Thanks.
bro.. I've asked this questions so many times and it seems like everyone is stumped because no one has an answer or a solution. I have a copy of the registry of the stock at&t tilt. My guess is that you have to add the missing registry keys in your ROM. I don't see how that would give you the Icon for PTT but maybe theres a cab somewhere.. Are you on AT&T network? if you are are you able to get to MEdia Net Homepage?
The problem goes deeper than registry settings.
at&t uses some different dlls to hook into the Radio.
On top of that at&t now has tied a particular Radio Rom to their OS Rom which further complicated the issue.
PTT for WM6.1 won't arrive unless at&t releases a WM6.1 Rom (or one gets leaked).
PTT in a cooked WM6.0 Rom is possible if you cook an at&t Rom.
You can take WM6.1 ROM & SYS folders and AT&T 1.62 OEM folder and build a hybrid ROM from it that works with a 1.27.14.09 radio.
I've done it before and tested incoming and outgoing calls as well as audio, didn't test if threaded SMS was working...
I have no interest in PTT, but if you want to cook your own ROM and make PTT work on WM6.1 before AT&T releases a WM6.1, I'm telling you that it's possible.

Talk about a scary "Franken-Rom"! It definately needs to happen at the cooking stage though. A few of us have tried to come up with a way to add it in to a cooked Rom with an at&t base and it just never quite worked.
thanks for the quick replies, guys. I will definitely have to do a bit more learning before I can attempt the frankenROM idea, but that definitely sounds like something I will look in to.
add back ptt button
look for "XCSdM Fuze PTT Mod" - Remaps short/long PTT and LKP using Buttons menu in settings
I knw this maybe a VERY stupid question but can the PTT application and button be reenabled under any of the cooked rom's. I have done much Googling (MUCH) and except for CHANGEING THE PTT Key MAPPING and can't find any info or .cab file for enabling that function. Thanks all. Very long time reader but not poster since I like to figure stuff out on my own IF possible (lol)!
Bump..plz help

anyone know where to get the cab for the smart dialer program? it helps to ease my dialing names? Somehow missing from my kaiser dutty new rom.......
Not sure what you mean by smart dialer but the dialer that was in Dutty's 19199 rom is available on the second posts of his 209 build. I searched the forums and didn't come up with much. Try searching:
smartdialingwm5_257.cab
Are you sure it's not in there? You might just need to enable it.
Dont know what you are looking for exactly, I use this one on a stock AT&T ROM
screenshots and CAB attached.
tyguy its exectly what i needed.......but how come its not included in the roms?? thanks alott
Everybody likes different dialers I know even some who like the original one coming with the AT&T ROM.
It's the same as with "what's included in ROMs". I'm fine for now with a bloatware free installed 2nd gen AT&T (beside the power sucking radio) and the SPB products and would rather like to see "plain pale ROMs" with just the major fixes (like camera fix) and perhaps a good task manager and HTC Audio. Everything else can be installed, though a little bit more work (or configure UC), but at least only what I like. Not that an HTC Home, Weather, etc. is bad but that's my opinion

I thought this was what I was looking for... but it does not have a Speed Dial button... what gives?
Please tell me that you are kidding! Set speed dial up in the options and LOONG press the number. 1 is voicemal per default.
Edit:
It's "menu" (right softkey) - speeddial in case you are lost...
Honestly, did not know that worked... thank you!
Hi, I can't enter the camera application by full pressing the camera bottom, neither can I take pictures by doing so. I do not know if I it is a hardware problem or a software problem. 'Half press' allows me to take pictures changing the camera settings, and I must click on its icon to enter the camera app.
Is there any way to remap the camera bottom on 'Settings/Buttons'? or in any different way? If so, I will be able to set the 'full press' to any other function/app and see if it is a hardware problem or not.
I read some posts with same problem but couldn't find any solution, thanks in advance. Alejandro.

schaps advanced config will remap the buttons
Thank U for your prompt answer P1Tater. I've already tried ACT, but I could not find an option to remap the camera bottom, just for left and right softkey, power key, end key, and send key. Regards.
Alejandro.

There I have only
Botton 1 (Internet Explorer)
Button 2 (Messaging)
Button 3 (Start Menu)
Button 4 Press & Hold (OK/Close) - OK icon
Button 4 (None) - but cassette icon
Button 6 (Voice Speed Dial) - mic and phone icon
Button 6 Hold (Record) - same cassette icon
I think something messed up with this, there is no 'button 5', this should be the camera button?
Thanks again.

Wonderful!!! problem solve ... as simple as you said. Do you have PayPal, I would like to send you a couple of bucks so you can drink a beer/coffee/coke at my expense? I live in Argentina, so it won't be much, but I would like to thank you.
Regards.

youve done enough just by saying thank you. the sentiment is appreciated anyway. However if you still feel the pressing need the link is in my sig. But there is really no need.
I can't seem to change the sip on my device. It always reverts to the default.I have tried using the sip changer cab to no avail. I have searched the forums and can't find a solution. I am running ryncppr v4 by the way. Is it because this white keyboard is cooked into the rom maybe? anyone else having this problem? thx in advance.
A lot of newer ROMs have this issue. The solution for this problem under Dutty's (or anyone else's) ROMs may not work for yours, so please post your question in the thread for your particular ROM as it greatly increases the likelihood of getting a solution.
Search the Hermes forum for "SIP Change" or "SIPChange". It's a simple app that someone developed that ensures your SIP setting sticks. I used it on my Hermes and it also now works on my Kaiser.

The problem with SIP Change is that it does not work 100% of the time with some of the newer WM 6.1 builds. It works for some people with ROM A, and not for other people also running ROM A while following the exact same steps.
Apologies. Wasn't aware of that.
sWuRv - have you tried SIP Change?
No problem. I would also suggest he still try SIP Change since it does work with most ROMs.

I use the touchpal keyboard and have had to playwith a lot of roms and sIP change and IM selector to get it to work. You want to make the delay 0 first of all. I have had good luck with IM_sip select. Laso if you use the Lock from system disable it during testing. Let me know what happens.

SOLUTION (That worked for me)
Hi all,
I had the same issue and found a solution that worked for me. It was Opera 10 beta 2. Since I installed that I could still change the SIP but after a soft reset the problem appeared.
So I hard reset the device and installed the apps all over again. After installing Opera and restarting (or soft resetting the device) the problem appeared again.
After uninstalling I could change the SIP immidiatly.
