Every now and again my phone will put me somewhere in the ocean. I have to restart it to get the GPS to work again. I have no idea why it does it but the restart sorts it. Very annoying.
Verrry Nicesssee!
Hmm, IDK, when I click download on quick gps for me it doesn't show any longitude or latitude it just shows the same DL button. . .

A sterling example of what should be a forum rule: If you're going to post an unhelpful response, at least make it clever and humorous.
In this case, done and done. A mug of beer raised in your honor, xconradx.

OK, I'll do it for a lazy person that can't wait.
There is a sticky at the very top of this forum you have posted in that has a WONDERFUL package called 'Kaiser Tweaks'.
Amazingly, this does just what you want (without the effort of a search!) and much more!!
OK now???
crap I didn't even think about using kaisertweaks since its built into my rom...duhh..
I'm sorry for snapping at you, been a long day

No probs pal... We all have them at some time...
sigh..doesn't work, any other ideas?
how often do use it? i mapped data connection to my comm. mgr. and mapped that to ptt (hold) and just tap that to disconnect.
it syncs up to my mailserver for work every hour and id like it boot me off after 5 minutes. ill try to change its frequency and maybe that may fix it.
pehh still nothing weird... im trying to see if its conflicting with another setting but it isn't the case
modacco NoData works fine. For the 3g, you can use that 10 comm manager thing
hmm i may try that then.
My Vario III was connected to my PC last night and I was just browsing ebay.
All of a sudden, the phone gave a bleep and when I looked, it was on the dialling screen. Closer inspection showed that where the numbers usually appear, I had the word "Fender".
I had been on the musical instruments section of ebay and had just typed that word into the search box!
Well I turned the phone onto sleep mode, then back on again, it synced as normal and there was no repeat.
I'm just curious to know if anyone else has had this experience?

Yes I have!
It wasn't a problem as such (as far as I'm aware), just sort of a curious thing to happen.

Ive Noticed Ever Since Purchasing My Tilt (about 3 Weeks Now) I Have Had To More And More, Have To Sleep On The Couch (my Wifes Doing). Is There A Rom Or Hack For This Problem.
......sorry I Could Not Resist.......
Maybe you should see if there's a CAB available that will remove her. I know there's a Yellow cab ready at all times
Also, see if you can find a registry hack that will disable the annoying capitalizing of every word in your posts. We Don'T Have To Capitalize Every Word Cause It's Annoying, and it wont qualify you for better parking if your CAPS lock is only partially disabled.

I have had the same problem! And it got pretty bad for a few days, until I figured out a solution.
This is a bit complicated so pay very close attention (or you may want to jot these instructions down to refer to later):
1. turn the phone to look at the right side of the unit
2. locate a tiny button with a little red symbol on it. (You may have used this jewel of a button to awake your awesome Kaiser (a.k.a. at&t Tilt) phone when it has fallen asleep (while you got distracted for a few moments).
3. PRESS this button for only 1-second and release. I have learned - through trial and error - that this button also turns OFF the phone. BUT DONT WORRY! It's not really off, its just sleeping and you will still receive calls, text messages and even calendar event reminders (whew I worried about receiving these!).
I know these instructions can be very stressful, but they may have saved my marriage. I would highly consider you trying this procedure at least once an evening (like during meals, when your spouse is trying to communicate with you, and especially (grin) at 1am while your laying in bed browsing the xda-developers forums for all the cool tools, cabs and Roms out there and your wife rolls over and says, "don't you ever put that thing down??!!"
;-)
Sorry about the caps i wa not paying attention.

You have to make sure you get the right kind of cab though... It can be confusing because here in the DC area yellow cabs aren't yellow, they are bright orange??? You must be very careful because you must be sure you really want to do that before you run the cab. It is usually very painful, difficult, and expensive to uninstall the wife update. Even then if you manage to partially uninstall the wife, if you have added new devices to your PAN while the wife update was installed then it may take up to 18 years to fully uninstall the wife. It wrecks havoc with your network settings, and often once uninstalled the wife update will often take half of your network resources and permissions with it (sometimes all of them!). Also be very careful of MIL.dll. It often installs itself in the background when the wife update is being installed. MIL.dll is often considered spyware, nagware, and often it falls within both categories, but there is often nothing much that can be done about MIL.dll without uninstalling the wife update. Some feel it is worth starting all over again with just a bare-bones system, but most feel that the benefits of the wife update outweigh the negatives. It is better to live with the occasional problems that the wife update may cause, than to try and remove it.
Try hard reseting her. Hold down both of her soft nipples and stick your stylus in her butt. That should get quick results. haha

I'm using Dutty's special Bottylicious ROM. Works great with softcore resets like that! haha
LMAO! Maybe you could just install another cab Iv seen around, It's called abitontheside.cab, it can be simply installed without going through all the bother of unstalling the wife update. Just make sure you dont run both at the same time as Iv heard they can conflict with each other.
I bought my wife an iPhone, now she can't say anything because she spends just as much time surfing the web and playing with the other 4 things you can do with an iPhone
Hi guys,
I changed my SIM and afterwards while booting the kaiser is telling me, that the SIM-door is not locked, but it is. A little, 1 mm, big thing was coming out, it´s placed under the little metal-thing nearby the lock, so the damage can´t be from my side..
The mobile is three month old, but I loaded another ROM, so I´m not sure how it is with the guarantee. It´s a hardware-damage, so it shouldn´t be a problem.
Or is there a possibility to put the original ROM on the Kaiser? The mobile is not starting up, message is coming and turn of the phone automatically...
Any ideas?
cheers,
brasax

My mobile is not starting up, because it automatically shuts down after ten seconds. So, how should I flash a new ROM, if I get no AS-Connection established? Your link is not helping..
Anyway, found the problem and the Kaiser is working again..
How did you resolve the problem!
I am facing exactly the same behaviour as yours.
How did you resolve the problem?
Cause of 10 second shutdown

Not sure this is your problem but if you study the little microswitch at the end of the sim bay, you'll see it's possible for this not to mate correctly with the groove on the sim door latch if the switch has been moved independantly of the door lock. It's that little switch being in the open position which causes the flagged up message and 10 second shutdown. Realign them both back to the correct position and the problem should be gone.
that was exactly my problem..
Was looking for the ability to enter engineer mode, tried a few guides and couldn't get it to work.
Thanks to @Youb1 for posting the USSD code required (post below, drop them a thanks!)
All that you need to do is pop in this code to your Google dialer
*#899#
Then click dial.
A screen will show up with various tests, there's a warning below about these tests so please read on.
(doesn't work on 3rd party dialers for some reason, I tried a few)
NOTE**** DO NOT CLICK ON AUTO TESTS OF ANY KIND!!!!
The first thing it'll do is make a call to the police, I had no idea until they called me back, probably a good idea to avoid doing that, I'm sure they have better things to do than chase an android enthusiast testing their mobile device
The tool is useful for testing lenses, battery, screen, gyro, Accel, proximity, brightness, it'll even show your logic board serial amongst other things.
Just avoid the call test and any auto tests, stick with manual only and you'll be fine.
Try....... *#899#

Careful if you do this in the UK and click the auto testing.
It just called 112 which is the police, they called me back and grabbed my name off me as I'm saying im really sorry like a plum.
Call lasted 14 seconds whilst I was in the background swearing at my phone why my proximity and auto brightness don't work.
Yep be very careful with that.
FYI 112 is the not quite an emergency contact number.

I just ignored it as other tests came up, just assumed it was a sound byte.
Then I put the phone down and they called me back
112 isn't for emergencies anyway so not a Biggie but wish I hadn't called

Yeah... 911 is definitely for emergencies. So your warning definitely stands for America as well. I did the same , tried to hang up immediately.. when they called back as xxxx city 911.. I may or may not have panicked a bit, hahaha. But we're all good, the lady was super understanding about it since it was like 2AM and I'm sure I sounded panicked, well apologetic, and half asleep. Hahahaha.

Strangely 911 also calls the police in the UK, they added it as an optional number as Americans visiting the UK may not know and because of movies, everyone in the world knows about 911 being the police in America so I guess it made sense to.
Anyway, stick with manual tests and I'm sure you'll be fine.
I'll update the OP.
There are other engineering menus you can get into on this phone as well, but it requires a bit of work and from my testing it resets after restarting (or maybe after a set time). These menus include things that you should be careful messing with, so please be careful before clicking on any random item. It also includes a network engineering mode to view your cell connection info although it's not always accurate. Anyways, if you want to get into the engineering mode just follow the guide here. After doing that, you can get into engineering mode by typing the following into your phone dialer:
*#36446337#
Also, another menu without needing to do the above method is: *#808#
Doesn't give you the full engineering mode but has some other menus to go through as well.
