TyTn II video calling on ATT - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

Has anyone actually tried to make a video call from one unlocked TyTn II to another unlocked TyTn II on ATT? I have read that video calling is disabled on ATT, but this was a while back-- now ATT has "video sharing", which is techically a one-way video call. Would it be possible to make video calls on unlocked TyTn II's now on ATT? Any info anyone has on this would be greatly appreciated.

Tried. No negative. Not working atleast yet

So what if you both were on wifi? How in the world does ATT detect if someone is making a video call on their network or not?

Video Sharing
Anybody been able to use AT&T's Video Sharing over the Tilt in the US?

Video calls

Here are a few questions for any of you TyTn II/Kaiser users out there that may have used the front-facing camera to make video calls.
1) Can you call IP addresses, or can you only call telephone numbers of people that also have video telephony capability on their mobile?
2) How about calling stationary video phones (non-mobile devices)?
3) Can you call your own cell phone number? If the video telphony call is transferred via the data network, couldn't you still call your mobile device's phone number?
Just some questions I was wondering about. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
So far I've only been able too call other people with a 3G phone with camera. It does'nt work with Skype or MSN and my own voicemail kicks in when I phone myself.
Hmm.. interesting. So if someone else calls you while you are on a video call, it just goes straight to voicemail?

If someone does'nt hava a 3g pone ang 3g sim card in it you won't be able to have video call each other. It like youi would like to speak with chinese guy but you don't speek chinese
I'm having problems video calling myself. I do have a 3G simcard. T mobile is my network provider. Yet whenever I click on contacts, I see no option for me to video call. I've tried following the manual, but to no avail. Can someone help?
MAKE SURE YOUR SIM IS ACTIVATED FOR THIS SERVICE.If You Dial The Number Using Keypad, youll See A Camera Emblem .touch That And It Should Work...accourding To My Manual
What do you mean when you say 'if you dial the number'? Do you mean your mobile/cell number?
I've done this yet nothing changes and I am in a 3G/ HSPDA area. When I was on T mobile with my Vario II, I had no problem video calling. But then I exchange my phone for an upgade to the Vario III with T mobile, and video calling doesn't work.
Even my manual suggests that the phone is enabled in this way.
the number you want to call too.using keypad instead of from contacts.either way should work though
On Tmobile UK, you cannot send or receive video calls on a PAYG SIM. The limitation is by the network not individual phone settings.

How exactly do you make a video call? Or is that just non-ATT feature?

Thanks....
I really want to have my Tilt as a webcam to sorta stream across the internet or something
no network in the US has 3g video call yet. i believe att is beginning to implement it in some areas but very rare.
the video call is mostly used in europe and china
Partially in the US
AT&T now has Video Sharing (http://www.att.com/gen/press-room?pid=9199), it is a one-way video call, with just a limited number of supported devices.

The ATT Tilt Camera

Since most of the people around me does not carry a tilt/kaiser, I was wondering if the Att Tilt video call works
The AT&T Tilt does not support video calling, nor does AT&T currently support video calling. The only "video calling" AT&T offers is something called Video Sharing, which you can find info and supported devices on AT&T's website. Basically, this is a one way video call: one person records images with their camera, the other person sees the images on their phone. Currently, the Tilt does not support this feature by AT&T. In addition, the AT&T tilt does not have the front-facing camera as the unbranded and worldwide HTC Kaiser has, mainly because AT&T's network cannot support this service yet.

...a little problem with the 3G...

....when somebody calls me(with video call) my phone doesn't ring-it only flashes the side lights and the screen lights up-but i can't answer or reject-there's nothing on the screen. When i make a video call-the other side can pick up but it's a regular call(without video) .My "network type" is set to "3G" and HSDPA/HSUPA are enabled.I can't find where is the problem-please help me.
You should say what network you are on. I am on AT&T, for example, and they do not support it. It could be an issue with your provider.
I would be more helpful, but since I can't use video calling I can't give any technical assistance
My service provider is Mtel.I'm sure that they support 3g-because i personally called them to activate the service. So now i'm wondering is there any problem with my phone or is it with the SIM card.
..HELP!..anyone?

AT&T is 3G, but they do NOT do video calling. Contact your provider.
If they do offer video calling it will likely need to be subscribed and paid. The problem is almost undoubtedly not your SIM.
Your dialer on your ROM may not support video calling. If it is not a network thing I would say that is the most likely thing. You could try reverting to standard dialer or trying a new dialer. Also you could try a new ROM that you know supports video calling.
The most likely thing though is that you need to add video calling service to your cell plan.
I've paid and the 3g is activated from my service provider-when i call them for support they say that the problem is not from them-it's all activated.I've updated the firmware to VFE_UK R3AA013 and still no video callig. There 's no 3'rd parity dialer installed.I have "video call" in the menu but still not working. If someone calls me(with a video call)the phone lights just flash and nothing happens-no answer menu, no ringing.
3G is a different service to video calling, you have paid and got 3G but video calling might be extra or not supported.
