Unable to update or change Roms

Hi, im currently using a UK t-mobile rom supplied with my phone
ipl 2.21.0001
spl 2.21.0001
gsm 02.19.11
os 2.21.2.6
i have managed to sim unlock my device quite easily but changing (ideally to the imate rom) or even trying to downgrade to a v1 ipl/spl is proving impossible so far can anyone give any advice on what method i can follow to switch over to the better i-mate kjam rom?
I have tried using lokiwiz v2b and v3 with no success

You have a G4. To my knowledge on http://www.imei-check.com can unlock it ... for a fee....

MDA Vario: CID unlock? rom upgrade! HELP!

i've read a lot of threads on this forum and posted here and there but haven't got the answers I need to start messing with my phone.
could someone please help me out and give some advice?
I have a CID & SIM locked Dutch MDA Vario G3 with IPL/SPL at 2.21
I would really like to upgrade my ROM for getting rid of the tmobile stuff AND speed it up.
I'd like to know the following:
1) Can I upgrade a locked DUTCH vario to the Official tmobile 2.26 USA software without hacking or is this prevented as well?
2) I read stories about CID unlocking a G3 2.21 being possible AND being Impossible ..... which is it?
3) Can I downgrade my phone SAFELY to the custom ROM on this forum, I read about success stories but not for everyone .... what makes it work sometimes and does it matter that it will downgrade the IPL but NOT the SPL?
4) Can I or can I NOT just flash a G4 ROM over my G3 phone and leave the locked IPL/SPL as it is?
5) is there a disadvantage to NOT unlocking it and just flash a G4 ROM? what would I be missing out on? can I upgrade to 2.26 official and then flash a G4 ROM and have the same end result?
please help me out on this, I am ready to flash my phone but would not like to brick it since it is just a month old.

i trie craptree's guide, and I can read back all relevant data from my locked vario, at 2.21 I just can't write it back, so that's a nogo either.
any advice? G4 ROM or downgrade?

Downgrade Locked G3 with 3.08 IPL/SPL

I have read the guides to unlocking and from what I see there are none that work on 3.xx SPL/IPL. I was able to downgrade the IPL but never the SPL.
I have seen several threads that say if you flash button rom (several times) it will eventually downgrade the SPL also, but all night as I worked I flashed the button ROM (about 12-15 times) and still can't downgrade the SPL from the 3.08, only IPL goes to 1.01
Tried the original Cingular ROM and it isn't accepted (I think because I have a higher SPL than the original 2.26), tried using the ShellTool, Tried SoftSPL too but none worked.
IS THERE A WAY TO DOWNGRADE THE 3.08 SPL SO THAT I CAN USE THE LOKIWIZ02 OR LOKIWIZ03. I saw a thred saying that 3.08 can't be downloaded but I also saw SEVERAL saying to just keep insisting with the Button rom that it will eventually work (but after almost 15 consecutive tries I've had it).
Any help would be GREAT.

Button ROM doesn't work for that. I tried numerous times too. The only ROMs that work to downgrade to anything else from 3.08 are the OEM releases from either T-Mo or AT&T.
The Cingular ROM isn't accepted because it checks the OS version number. I had to try several peoples' ROMs until I found one with a low enough version number to where the Cingular ROm could flash on top of it.

Try to flash T-Mobile 2.26 to bring it down to ipl/spl 2,26 then go for button's 1.05,hope it'll do the trick.

I want to downgrade my phone, too. but the original T-Mobile AKU2.0 say while reading the phones ROM-Version "only update"... so, with this no downgrade is possible.
How can i CID unlock with AKU3? I want to flash a new ROM from xda-developer as well... damn

You could probably extract the nk.nbf and use the standard tools to flash it.
The nk.nbf can usually be found in a .tmp folder in c:\documents and settings\yourname\Local Settings\Temp

hello, i am new enterent on this forum and need help for, have imate kjam G3 IPL/SPL 1.xx os 1.1.9.3 device and i want to upgrade with latest WM 5 SE 3.8.2.1. Can i upgrade this OS without facing any prb i.e CID/sim locked prb??? kindly adivice to me what is the right way to upgrade my imate kjam (t-mobile) thank you.

Unless you are using official kjam update, otherwise please CID unlock your G3 device first, or you will face problems.

CID Unlock question

About to CID unlock a G3, my question is, the likes of the o2 xda updates, will it still know the device is g3 and flash the correct ipl / spl? The o2 updates must contain both IPL / SPL vers, as ive used the same update on G3's and G4's

Yes, Unlocking a G3 does not change it into G4, you can always flash to original ROM.
p.s. Remember to downgrade your IPL and SPL to 1.xx before CID unlocking.

I have a G4 Qtek 9100 right? Think I bricked it :/

I was going to upgrade my Qtek 9100 to some nice WM 6.1 version here and I followed the guide but I forgot to check my IPL/SPL, I only checked my version in the 9100 and it said 2.1 xxx so I thought I had an older version that wasnt G4 but when I ran the downgrade rom and the update application said something about that I had an old update utility. My 9100 rebooted and now it has hanged at the update screen and it says IPL 2.17.0001 and SPL 2.17.0001 which means its bricked and there is no way of ever getting it to work?

You are just one lucky guy,if its stuck on bootloaders (tricolor screen) with ipl/spl displayed,then you just got saved.otherwise,it shud have 'Bricked' the phone.As long as it gets into bootloaders (tricolor),its safe. Always remember,you cannot downgrade or SIM/CID unlock a G4 device like this as a G3 device,infact,a G4 device can not be cid unlocked at all.If you want to upgrade to a wm6 rom,read and follow the guides in G4 forum 'Stickied' as 'HardSPL' and 'SoftSPL'.
Now to recover back,download the official carrier's rom from its website or download the wizard_love_rom and flash it in bootloaders,it'll recover back and start to work,and then go for upgrade as per guides mentioned above.
