this is meant to be a discussion board for those interested in running playstation and nes on their pda/phone. i personally have t-mo wing but know these emu's run on all kinds of devices. hopefully this thread will bring yet another addicting dimension to your phone and create an area where we can all help each other bring fun gaming to our devices by sharing our knowledge.
NOTE: this emu barely runs on the stock t-mobile rom. I use lite version roms that are available all over this forum. you will get better results using these emus with a lite fast rom flashed to your device.
OH BOY! here come the PM's!!...please don't pm me asking for the bios, it's not too hard to find one...GOOGLE
follow this http://youtube.com/results?search_query=fpsece&search_type= for videos of FPSEce
ok here is v.9.6 beta the last release from fpsece...still waiting for v.10
this does not have bios in it. if you get it working and like. credit and donations go to the developers at fpsece. you can follow the link in my sig.
hey when you get the emu working you will notice there is a camera icon on the gamepad it will take a screenshot if you press it. it would be cool to see what games we have working through the thread.
configuration for fpsece and help preparing games for the emu! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1948265#post1948265

yes i have. i have been using these emu's for about 3 years since my htc magician. now i am enjoying them on my wing! when starting out with fpse it seems kind of complicated but i have seen your diligence with UL and know you will be gaming in no time. any questions i am all ears....i am not a pro with emu's but do have have several games working.
Yeah, I'm interested in getting this going. Looks really cool.

How does the wing do with ps1 emulator?, Can you run at full speed, the wing seems to have trouble with gba roms as it is.

you pretty much have the idea, but there are some good tutorials on fpsece.com that show you how to rip your own games into iso and the other formats that the emu recognizes.also you can play with the touch screen pad or program hard buttons on your phone(preffered) and then play in landscape like my sig!

Ttran, this requires a ps1 BIOS.
Do NOT cook the BIOS into the ROM unless you want to get into a possible legal issue with Sony.
Be careful, bro.

this type of question is more easily answered by searching fpsece forum, but first and more importantly you need to find a bios(google) and place it in the bios folder inside the emu package... then you put the games inside the folder called isos. hit the start in lower left corner of fpsece, hit iso, find iso folder, then choose the game that you placed there. hope this helps a little.
Thanks ill try that...lol
AWESOME I THINK ITS WORKING NOW LOL hey thanx for the quick reply!

EDIT: OK... I broke too many things while fixing the SMS issue to try to fix them... so I'm gonna release this as a alpha tonight (all the issues are minor issues) and I'm gonna start another ROM from scratch. This time, I'm staying away from the Tmobile OEM bases... too much crap in them. I'm gonna follow Ttran's advise and start new. So, expect an even better ROM. Shouldn't take too long to do from what I saw of the Herald ROM. There will still be both Herald and Wing releases, btw. It will still have everything I've showed you so far, it will just be cleaner and working better. Btw, this is/was THE fastest ROM I've ever made...
Here it is. The broken Alpha release. Just thought you might want to play with it. I forgot to change the pagepool...
For those adverturous enough to play with it, download the pagepool tool I've attached and set the pagepool to 5.5
Have fun. lol I'll be working on a fixed version but I won't have time today.

No major bugs that I can find, but then again, I haven't had time to really play with it much.
As always, this is a CLEAN ROM. Please do not post requests for certain software. They will be ignored. I MAY, MAYBE try to set out some time to release my kitchen files with a modified version of the WM6.1 kitchen also... MAYBE... This will be colored RED. I MIGHT also be releasing a RedPad. This time, it will be something more like the likes of the other cook's ROMs.
Includes:
Opera Mini

I have also recolored some Pocket Breeze and WMP skins, so these are red too (I don't think I can publish them since they are not made by me)
EDIT: Btw, I hope you will be using that touch comm skin with wide items and text descriptions, I love it. It could be rocolored very simply - only these blue "LEDs" should be red
EDIT 2: If you want to recolor sth, just send the graphic files along with a color reference screenshot to mzabsky at gmail dot com

Okay, here it is. Both landscape and portait, the square version is removed.
And give a credit to XcSkins, they are author of the original skin (I made only the recolor and some small adjustments like large album art, a bit shifted slider etc.).
@Ivan: I know this may sound odd to you, but, can you make a Justclean version for herald too? I've been admiring your ROMs, but, sadly I own a herald
Love your clean roms Ivan! Looking forward to it!

HISTORY
TrackMe is the conversion of the popular tool written originally for Windows Mobile 5 and 6. This version of Windows Phone 7 still doesn't have all the features than the original one, but if people keep interested I will continue adding them periodically. You can find the original thread for TrackMe here
WHAT IS TRACKME?
TrackMe is a GPS tracker. It uses the location services on your phone to retrieve your current position. That information is later used for displaying tracks (realtime or pre-recorded) with Google Earth, Google Maps or other tools.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
TrackMe uploads your data to a server. If you don't have an internet connection or you prefer not to use it while you are tracking, you can store your data locally on your phone and upload it later when an internet connection is available. You can use my server (free of charge) for uploading your data. TrackMe is already configured to use this server by default.
HOW CAN I VIEW MY DATA?
Once your data is uploaded you can view it by going to http://luisespinosa.com/trackme and using the web viewer for Google Maps developed by the community. You can also export your data to a KML or GPX file and use Google Earth or any other tool that accepts that format. Remember that you cannot view or export your data until is has been uploaded to the server.
WHAT'S NEXT?
As I mentioned there are still many features that are not available for WP7 yet. If there is enough demand I will keep working on this tool. Some of these features are the ability to upload pictures (extracting the GPS data and match them with your existing positions), force updates with your own custom icons and comments, extended trip summary information, send your location by email/sms, Geofence and many more.
I hope you enjoy this tool. If you have any comments or want to contribute please use one of the links located in the About screen.

If you guys like TrackMe, do you think you can help me by promoting the app by writing some reviews in the WP7 marketplace? You don't have to give me 5 stars, just what you consider to be fair.
There is a guy who just uploaded an app called Track_Me that has nothing to do with me and he posted a negative comment for mine. It just says 'so bad'.
Very stupid doing that, because it's so easy to trace it and find out he is a developer.
Thanks
I've been using TrackMe on my HTC Touch Cruise for a long time and have been very happy with it.
But nowadays I'm using an Android phone and haven't found anything working quite as well as TrackMe did. I guess you haven't got any plans to also produce an Android version?
great, will add it to 1800pocketpc

I have tried changing to those regional settings and I don't get the error.
I think the problem is with your MySQL database. I have the impression that the old TrackMe sends the lat/long like x.xxxxx
This new version may send more decimals. Maybe you can make some changes on your MySQL server to accept more. That should resolve the problem.
Please let me know if you try. Thanks
This error only seems to happen to people using their own servers. If the server is configured to use regional settings that uses a comma instead of a dot, it will cause this problem.
At this moment I don't know when I will fix that problem. I thought it was going to be a quick fix but after trying it seems to be something very delicate so I will have to spend more time on it.
So far I haven't seen too much interest on TrackMe for WP7, so I don't plan to fix this problem for now, specially because only happens to people using their own servers.
If people start showing more interest in the future for this app, this will be the first fix that I will include in the next version.
Sorry about that!
This is the reason I am considering VERY STRONGLY to go WP7
I have been waiting to make the move from WM6.5 to either Android or WP7 and now that I have seen this, I am very strongly leaning towards WP7 finally, I bike and this app makes it possible for my family to see where I am and see if something may have gone terribly wrong or even find my phone if it were to fall. I would love for this app to continue to be developed very much.
Just wanted to let you know there are a few of us WP7 users that are wanting this app and wanting to tell you THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!
Larry

Ubuntu 10.10 runs on Galaxy Note. Most of the info below if from other threads. Credit to hollywood528 who has outlined the instructions at http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/t-1325250.html
Make sure your Note is rooted.
You will need to download "Terminal Emulator" and "Android VNC" all free from the Android Market...
Download the ubuntu.img, ubuntu.sh, and the ubuntu.sh.md5 file from here: http://downloadandroidrom.com/download/AndroidUbuntu/ubuntu.zip?token=282068876
Then make a folder named Ubuntu on your SD card and transfer them there.
Open up termial emulator and type "su" then hit enter Next type "cd sdcard/ubuntu" After that type " sh ubuntu.sh" (ignore the warning)
Then open Android VNC. Address: localhost ((or keep empty, it may work better for some that way))
Password: ubuntu
Port: 5900 ((if this doesn't work, try 5901 or leaving it blank))
BPP 24
You're all set!!

Personally, I love reading about stuff like this. Here's to hoping that Note is the new HD2.
Well this is posted in wrong section. If its not made by you then do not make thread about it. If you go to ubuntu site there is already a new update and explain how install on android. This is not note development. I hate reading this posts if its in wrong section.

dude do you even know what android is?
windows and Ubuntu is almost the same?
ever tried googling it before commenting ? believe me it will help you a lot in you quest for knowledge
android and Ubuntu are both OS that uses the linux kernel and sometimes it gives us the opportunity to port it ( ubuntu ) to a smaller android based device
doing so on the NOTE will be a great achievement duo to it's Gigantic screen and stylus that can come in handy when working with such an OS
P.s
stop being a hater , if we had more like you we wouldnt had any progress at all so cut it out!!!

android and Ubuntu are both OS that uses the linux kernel and sometimes it gives us the opportunity to port it ( ubuntu ) to a smaller android based device
doing so on the NOTE will be a great achievement duo to it's Gigantic screen and stylus that can come in handy when working with such an OS
P.s
stop being a hater , if we had more like you we wouldnt had any progress at all so cut it out!!!

Well this is posted in wrong section. If its not made by you then do not make thread about it. If you go to ubuntu site there is already a new update and explain how install on android. This is not note development. I hate reading this posts if its in wrong section.

You have NO idea what the hell you're talking about. How about you go back to the cave you came from. Setting up the loop mounting isn't easy, and is DEFINITELY supposed to be in this area as it is DEVELOPMENT related. Also, you clearly don't understand OS's at all. Perhaps you can tell me how to get 100,000+ Linux apps working in Android? Didn't think so. I have a use for this, and a tonne of other people do too. X11 forwarding is one BIG reason.

Also, you have a let me google that for you link, and you don't even know how to do a simple search about 'What is Linux?' 'How are Android and Ubuntu similar?' 'Why would anyone want to chainloop linux?' 'How to spell the word need?'

Just note that you are the more (in)active on this thread ... perhaps the most alone in front of his computer ...
And why on earth ubuntu on the note won't be in "android development", could you explain this in detail ? .... please ???
I haven't tried this one yet but yesterday I used the image from this thread to get Ubuntu on my phone:

Hey Everyone!!
I am thinking about creating an online kitchen (similar to UOT) but for HTC Sense UI MODs. This includes Lock Rings, Weather Lockscreen Backgrounds, Docks, ability to remove/add time/carrier etc.. In short, a total customization of the Sense UI.
I believe that many users would love this and it would save time for the developers who are constantly creating Lock Rings/Sense Themes etc. As there are so many HTC devices, it is difficult to create the same MODs on all devices.
I'm planning to implement the whole thing in Node.JS + Socket.IO. It can also be done simply with HTML + PHP but then if there is high traffic, I believe the first option would be better.
Therefore the skills required would mainly be knowledge of programming languages such HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript etc.
I have started working a bit on this, but it would not be possible to do this alone and I would require some help. If anyone is experienced enough and able to help me out with this, it would be very much appreciated.
Please contact me via PM or email me at [email protected]
Thanks!

Excellent Idea, if you need any help with a host and setting up a webpage I can get that done for you. You would need to find some other Devs to developed the tools needed to modify the files and I work for a Sports Media Company and we have a department that Develops websites and I can get the guys to set everything up and find a host to be able to handle enough traffic. I will P.M. you my email and if your interested you can email me and we can get it going, I hope to see this up soon.

Awesome!! Thanks a lot for your help!!
Yes I mainly need help with a host and the webpage. To modify the files, the tools are there and I've already written most of the background code to use the tools and modify the files. That code is in DOS atm, but i can rewrite in another language if required.
Look forward to your PM and hope to get this website implemented and up soon

Yeah, I'm still working on it alone at the moment. Sticktaylor has offered to help out, but I haven't heard back from him.
But anyways its still in progress...
Really looking forward to this! I am in the beta testing phase of my own personal custom ROM and this would really help it stand out. It is definitely a learn as you go kind of thing. Any ways, awesome idea and hope this does make its way into production. Thanks for all the hard work!
I think this is a great idea. It is a large project though, which will take a tremendous amount of effort and time. If you don't find enough people to help, or even if you do, have you considered joining development on UOT Kitchen? I'm not even sure if they are looking or more help, but, they already have such an amazing product, with some Sense manipulation in it even. It would be great to develop an already great thing to be even better, instead of starting from scratch to reinvent the wheel.
Just an idea...

Yes I know it is. Hopefully, I will be able to complete it this summer. If I am able to get some help, it will be done much sooner.
Hmm.. I could talk to mendozinas and see if it can be integrated with the UOT Kitchen. They only have framework mods atm, not Sense mods. Let's see, I'll give it a shot

Help service donation.
If you have your services taken care of already, please disregard. My Apologies... If you need some help with starting up host, data storage, bandwidth reqs. I can try to get donated service up to 4 to 6 months. Usually depends on the devs. idea/project. After donated time is up, the two companies I do regular business with, will usually offer a 10% to 25% discount on all service. Never hurts to try. If you would like me to submit your project, just shoot me off a PM and I'll fill you in.

So Rooting with a Mac is kind of a pain in the ass.
For some reason, I'm sure it's a anomaly, adb and fastboot wouldn't work on a vm.
SO, I'm making this! Introducing....

If anyone wants to help me work on it (it's written in applescript; because I'm lazy) let me know and I'll send you the project, Just when you make improvements and add more, send me updated files.
Beta testers will also be needed soon!!!!!
UPDATE~
I've been working hard on this to get it out ASAP except I'm having a massive problem with trying to run a command and letting the user choose the Unlock_code.bin themselves.
I was thinking of packaging it as just a shell script until I was done with the GUI but if anyone knows applescript (or their way around with xcode, we could make it a bit more powerful) please PM me.
UPDATE 2~
So I made the shell script ready for everyone. try it out and let me know how it works.
1. keep in mind you're doing this at your own risk!
2. this isn't the full program. ALL this will do is root your device! if you want the full program I'd suggest waiting!
I am on a Mac, don't know apple script but I could help out. Tired of using my wifes computer. Let me know what I can do.

any kind of Mac related Rooting, bootloader unlocking or Rom installers im sure would be a welcomed addition. Hopefully people will understand what they are doing to their phone, and that there is always a risk involved.
But otherwise looks clean thus far

zacgoesrawr, i went ahead and moved here to the development section. Thank you for your contribution.
Should I put in PG's (r.i.p please resurrect soon) ICS firmware for those who'd want to install that while they're at it?
also I was thinking about putting CWM in there too

I'm in! I will have the Vivid in a few days (hopefully), and it would be nice to do everything in my natural OS.
I'm not familiar with Apple Script either but I am a graphic designer by trade so I can help with graphics, icons; or whatever might be needed.
I'm also going to throw this idea out there just for kicks. Maybe change the name to:
Vivid Fruit Root [VFR]. Just a suggestion, I can always call it that in my head. I'm just not a fan of the iNames personally. I am a fan of this project though so let me know if you need some help.

I will start putting a few ideas together. I work continuously, and am a stay at home toddler wrangler, so I will have to piece things together in that elusive spare time, so it might take me a little bit. It should be quick and simple, but not too quick.
As far as the actual app, are you going to just save as an app from within Apple Script Editor? (I am a little familiar I guess). So maybe an .icns package might be needed as well?

I will present a few ideas, we can narrow down, refine, and go from there. I have all the software I need, and developer tools, so .icns are no problem (I change and modify mine all the time). Your more than welcome to some psd's and whatever I create though. I have a few client priorities but will start laying some things out in between projects.
I'm not a developer, but am a Mac user and would love to test this =)
I'm completely sick of having to borrow someone's computer for this.

This sounds good to me, but it's obviously zac-attacks brainchild/passion project, so that's probably for him to decide.
In other news, my wife was in a minor car-accident Friday evening (she's fine) but my spare time decreased even more, so I don't know how involved or helpful I can be, or when.
Also, I got your PM Qberty, and will get back to you soon, things have been a little hectic. I'm not blowing you off; just FYI.
On a positive note, I picked up my Vivid today, and its pretty amazing, can't wait to alter it.
