I am trying to share internet from my Tilt to my laptop via bluetooth. I have searched the forums and google for days now and can not get it to work. I have the phone and computer paired and I am using a Jabra A320 BT adapter with the latest drivers from Jabras website with Duttys ROM. The DUN service is recognized on both the laptop and the Tilt, but when I try to start DUN on the laptop, I get a message that says "error 678: the remote computer did not respond. For further assistance..." I appreciate any help or a point in the right direction. I am new to DUN and bluetooth, but not 100% computer dumb. My Tilt as a USB Modem works fine, but can't get the BT to work. I just am inexperienced at BT, and on another note, is it possible to ActiveSync my Tilt via BT?
I have still been unable to get this to work? Can some one please point me in the right direction to get this going? I have everything paired have tried multiple solutions including uninstall/re-install... I can't get it to work and it is frustrating the hell out of me!

Need help. Trying to set up blue tooth on cingular 8125. Just bought new kensington bt and it set up serial com as com 4 and 5. The phone only gives u the option of com 6 and com 7. Any ideas? The BT does connect to phone but activesync cant find phone. Tried activsync 4.1 and 4.2. Thanks in advance for help.
I'm having the same trouble. i scoured this and other forums but can't find any info on this problem. I think we may need to upgrade the rom on our phones. I'm still running the stock rom and i think if we upgrade that might correct the problem.
I talked to the support team at HTC about this issue, they say that the activesync feature is a function of the drivers that are loaded onto your PC. If you pair your phone and don't see activesync as an available option, then try to upgrade or reinstall your BT driver. I wouldn't have thought it would work, but a simple uninstall and reinstall of my existing bluetooth software fixed the problem for me.

This is the simpliest method to fix the problem.
I had many bad rounds of this and finally did a reinstall of the bluetooth and then Active"stink" (crappy program for many reasons).
You have to make sure that you can identify the port that you 8125 establishes a bluetooth session with beforee you try to sync with. This port number is used in Activesync to know which port to talk through.
Please make sure that in the connections of Activesync that you choose the port for which you identified as bluetooth connected to your device.
THEN try to re-establish a bluetooth Activesync connection from your 8125 (pair it if you need to) and "bing" there should the option for Activesync.

If you guys still have problems with this after let me know. I played with this for a few hours about a month ago and could retrace my steps. A couple of phone reboots after setting up the ports helped
Just to add, I noticed that once I upgraded the ROM to Summiter's 2.25 I was able to walk out of BT range and when I returned re-sync via ActiveSync without doing a soft-reset of the phone.
As SK7575 said, be sure to post there are plenty of folks using this connectivty option and it does work....
And I had this working - nicely syncing between my cingular 8125 and laptop via BT!!
But then I tried to get my 8125 to connect to my new wireless network - which did not work - and in the process of trying everything I must have broken something, because now after trying everything imaginable I just never see that activesync service on my 8125 any more.
The last I tried was to remove all the BT serial ports from device manager after deleting them from the HP bluetooth neighborhood (I have a bigger HP laptop with built in BT).
Then rebootet and four new BT ports were found and installed. Then I told the HP software to make a new incoming port (they call it service) and got COM 5. Then I told activesync on the PC to use COM5 for syncing.
Made sure all pairing was removed. booted both the HTC and PC - paired the two - bang - no 'activesync' service.
Now I am running out of options especially as I don't know how to un- and reinstall the HP software that comes with the laptop.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Gunter
I also have the HP BT stack on my laptop and ActiveStink does not sync with my MDA.
Any answers here, may help get me synced via BT.
Is the trick to see which USB port comes alive when I connect MDA via USB?
and use that on my PC for ActiveSync to listen to via BT on my laptop?
Thanks

I'd be glad to hear if someone has the Belkin F8T012 USB dongle and that they have that working with bluetooth ActiveStink.
'Cause everything I've tried, I never ever see the "Activesync" profile appear on my device when pairing, I only see an available Serial Port.
Does anyone know the details of how that active sync profile is cretaed on the 'puter? If I could troubleshoot from that angle, I bet I'd have it working...

Thus far, I've been unable to use my AT&T Tilt as a wireless modem for my Vista laptop. I've partnered them in the MS Bluetooth Stack, then gone to Windows --> Internet sharing and set it to bluetooth pan and media net, then on my computer, gone to "connect to" and opened the bluetooth pan connection. Unfortunately, at this point, my phone doesn't show up as a devic for bluetooth pan. If anyone can offer up some advice, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks
I would also like to add that Bluetooth PAN also doesn't work for me in XP (SP2). It doesn't show up in the the Bluetooth Device Wizard (the one used to add devices with PAN services), but clearly broadcasting is enabled in the options.
Also, just as a side note, I can't get USB tethering to work either...I'd really appreciate any help I can get with this tethering problem. Thanks.
Got it working. I have no idea why, but for some reason when i tried repairing it for the sixth time or so, vista suddenly decided it had drivers to install for my tilt, and it went ahead and installed the modem driver. now everything seems to be working.
By Bluetooth or USB? Or did you get both working?
Why bother with Bluetooth or USB headaches?? Just use WMWiFiRouter and connect to your phone over Wifi.
Hi All
After looking at this amazing application - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=427097 - I decided to install it, works great if im using the USB wire. But my problem is that Vista wont find my Diamond to connect it to a PAN, ive followed the information on that guide.
Ive tweaked my registry, ive also ran WM6BTPAN which doesnt seem to do much.
Ive also checked my MSI Btoes drivers on my pc. Im running Vista 32bit Business and its find actually pairing with my Diamond, but when it comes to actually setting up the pan, I just get that screen (image attached).
Anyone else having this problem?? or even better anyone else know how to fix this?
Thanks
I got the same problem with xp, too.
I have an Belkin USB adapter and I even started the bluetooth network from the pc with the Belkin software... and in "network connections", the icon looks like it has a connection, but the computer isn't receiving any packages (just sending packages).
So what do I have to do so my Vario IV will connect?
...
I just found out that there is no connection between my Vario Iv and my PC:
I turned my bluetooth on my phone off and let the PC connect with the bluetooth network and it says it's connected.
So, if anyone has an anwser to this problem, please help us.
Thx
Hi Guys
Just got the Diamond2 from devicewire, and I'm really pleased with it.
One thing that differs from my Touch Diamond is that when I try to use internet sharing my laptop* won't recognise it as a BT PAN device.
I realise this may be a bit premature, but has anyone else experienced this yet? Any fixes out there, or even fixes for the Touch HD which may be appropriate?
Thanks
Stoatie

I initially had the same problem until I realised I had to go into Internet Sharing on the Diamond2 and click connect once I had selected Bluetpooth PAN as the PC Connection. Once this was done I was able to join the PAN from my Vista laptop.
Hope this solves your problem.

I don't understand what you mean. Do you mean that you think I wasn't pressing "connect" to connect the two devices up?
Initially I paired the 2 devices and connected them via bluetooth. I then tried to join a bluetooth PAN from my laptop and it showed my diamond2 as a bluetooth access point. I pressed connect on my laptop and got an error message.
It wasn't until I realised that I needed to initiate an Internet Sharing connection from the phone first and then join the PAN from the laptop as well (connecting on both devices) that it worked. And it works fine.
Sorry if your problem is different.
Hi
I have been quite happily syncing my pda using an external usb bluetooth dongle.
I have recently purchased a dell 355 bluetooth module to fit internally in to the laptop. this is when the problem starts.
Firstly, the bluetooth wasn't working.
Then, the bluetooth started working but wouldn't sync
Now, i've managed to get files moving from pda to computer but not the otherway around. Iv come to the conclusion that a port number has not been set on the phone. But when i try to set an outgoing port, it wont let me pick the same port as activesync. Just keeps saying cannot set port number.
Im using the widcomm stack which gives me all the drivers and such.
Incidentally, the sync works fine with activesync and outlook no problem when using the usb cable.
Any advice would be great, Im pulling my hair out
So to make sure I'm getting the picture clearly, your syincing was working fine with your prior Bluetooth dongle on the PC, but no longer works properly with a new dongle. Nothing on the phone has changed. Is that correct?
