Weatheryoko will be pleased to hear that i have today ordered my LEGAL version of TomTom 6 - after trying the tomtom 5.21 (Cracked version) and the tomtom 6 (Cracked version) and various other nav systems(all Cracked), i have decided that tomtom are a good system to use. The reason for my trying these different versions is because i paid mercedes £1500 to have satnav fitted in a car i ordered from them and found it to be utter rubbish, besides not being portable between vehicles etc. Once fitted it's then obviously too late for refunds etc. As there isn't any option, i've found, to test these systems before purchase, it made sense to try the cracked versions.
As Weatheryoko is so anti-piracy i trust he will now hand back any owned property, to the indigenous population/native americans, that were "stolen" "pirated" from them by his forebears, and will campaign on their behalf for other such lands to be returned - or is it the usual - do as i say not as i do
Glad to hear it....
I'm glad to hear that your buying a legal version, and thanks for the "jabs". Just so you know, I'm an immigrant and I (nor my ancestors) were here when the lands were stolen from the Native Americans. We weren't even here during the last "land grab" of 1889. Believe me when I say this, I think is was shameless the way they were treated. Having lived in Oklahoma (which is Choctaw for "Red People" FYI), I know this story too well. Maybe this is what prompted me to donate funds to the American Indian College Fund. I would recommend that you get to know people first, before making rash judgements. Maybe that was the problem with the early American settlers? What do you think? Mate, if you want to throw stones in glass houses, do you want to talk about the Ireland or Scotland? We could also talk about slavery (which both your and my country had at one time) if you chose. The bottom line, neither country is clean. Atrocities know no political boundary. Darfur, Nazi Germany, Crusades, Bosnia, Cambodia... pick one. I can't change the past, but I can choose how I live in the present. If I see someone doing something wrong, I try to do something about it. I'm not perfect. I **** things up occassionally, but I learn, try to make things right and move on.
This isn't an attack on you, so please don't take it personally. However, reading your comments prompted me to respond. Since this thread is already way off topic, I won't comment any further. Bottom line, glad to see that you bought the legal version. Please encourage others to do so. I do wish though that TomTom would provide an "evaluation version" so people could evaluate it for while before purchasing. This may cut down on the wide-spread use of cracked versions.

Agreed, to expect someone to pay that much without testing it a bit first is a bit much imo.
You can see it in a shop but not just try driving down the street a bit which would give you a proper idea of what its like.
Weatheryoko - it wasn't meant as a personal attack i was just using irony as an example - agreed the world is probably never going to be perfect - but please don't judge people for using what is available for evaluation or other reasons - surely that is the greatest tool that the internet and forums such as this provide - btw tomtom is a good product imho and i took the opportunity only to evaluate the possibilities before parting with my ill gotten gains having been stung before  Enough said, as you rightly stated this is way off topic - and we all have our own opinions, which is why the world is, as is.
well done ..but the tt6 version isn't compatable with tt6 on tomtom website yet,but i'm sure you will gloat at how well it works if it does work ,i'm waiting for some positives before i splash out this time
Can anyone tell me where the TomTom6 for PocketPC can be ordered. I've checked the Tomtom website and the only 6.x version I can order is for the various GO devices... but no PDA so far :-(
I ordered mine from the guy that supplies me with all my desktop/laptops and all other it/comms paraphernalia - and as one of his best  customers, hopefully he'll come up with the goods as soon as he has them. But he has been known to be notoriously slow at times - so i won't hold my breath - it's only an order and as i understand you can order from pc world business or, presumably, other retailers - unfortunately i don't have a delivery date as such, just a promise, but then again i'm in no hurry, it's only another toy to play with!

yup they get you buy the short and curleys as teh software is free you only pay for the maps
All TomTom maps, voices etc. are coded to the individual TomTom software ID and are not interchangeable across TomTom users or TomTom versions, you need to buy everything all over again.
Got your TT6 yet dude? I have it up and running on 2 PDA's right here and i've put it on my mates XDA Mini IIs to. Not the legit version you undertand!

Daz please dont be a ****in muppet and DONT post warez!
I have had enough of people not thinking before posting pirated software. XDA Developers is a very valuable resource that can be closed down very quickly beacuse of pirated software, and thats something I dont ever want to see happen.
Dont get me wrong I use pirated software as much as the next person, but I dont go posting it on legit sites! Ejits like you are what get messsage boards closed down.
XDA DEV IS NOT A WAREZ BOARD SO DONT TREAT IT LIKE ONE!
RANT OVER!
Legal
You want to take a chill pill, i only posted a link to another website, I have posted no illegal files in this post and nor does the link take you directly to a warez file download, XDA dev are not legally responsible for links to other websites. You should check the legal stuff before you RANT at me.
PS Dicussion of Cooking ROMs is acceptable on this site, so check your facts please.
Hello all, I really debated on where to post this..I havent been too active for awhile on the forums, been busy, but I imagine I'll be snagging a Kaiser sometime coming up, so I suppose I'll stick it here.
I am offering Exchange 2007 pushmail accounts, with Outlook Web Access, and alias's, you can find more details, and pricing at http://gfyinc.org
My value plan monthly price is $4.00, or $44.00 for a year, but if you have donated to XDA Developers(as in star by your name) I will provide you with details to sign up for $3.00 a month, or $32.00 a year, or a $1.00 off any of the larger plans listed.
I am in no way trying to affiliate myself with XDA by offering the discount, and Im not setting a very good example by not having donated yet, I just know I or a lot of us wouldnt be here without this place, and want to encourage donations, I would rather you donate here, and receive the dollar a month discount.
Less than you pay for a cheeseburger and fires, and you get a whole month of instant html email sweetness.
P.M. me for details. sorry to kinda spam you, and thank you.

Like its says in my FAQ, if youre less that 15 days into the 30 day billing period, and unsatisfied, I will return your payment.
I do still have a couple upgrades I would like to put in place within the next month, but I really hate to spend too much more, when Im not really seeing that much interest from the get go, but if you want a month for free to check it out, let me know, I would appreciate any business.

Thanks for your input, after dumping a few grand into building redundant servers, and taking the time to set it all up, not to mention the stress, I really like to have some really nice person chime in and tell me and others its free elsewhere, its hard enough being the small guy and trying to compete in a world of giants.

Rather than complaining surely the best response would of been why your service is better than mail2web's? For example...
$4 a month gets you a mail alias. At M2W it's $4.95 a month.
Does your service included access using Outlook on a PC?
What about Spam filtering?
What about Anti Virus?
I just posted THIS in xda general but thought i would give my kaiser peeps a head start!
to be completely redundant it says this.
"Give Skyfire to your friends Announcement started 18th August 2008 and ends 30th August 2008
On the eve of the Olympics, we added Silverlight support to Skyfire, meaning that Skyfire users can watch any ofthe 2200+ hours of Olympics coverage provided by NBC on their mobile phones. To celebrate Michael Phelps’s monumental accomplishment of winning 8 Gold metals in a single Olympic games, today we have released a special code “Michael8” which will give new users access to Skyfire and the games (and the full PC web).
Spread the code “Michael8” to your friends and let them part take in these historic games on the go."
Says: Only users who are currently participating in the Skyfire private beta can access these forums. If you have forgotten your password, Click here!
that would make sense that you can't see the post...
I will attach it.
Still though, you should be able to go to skyfire.com on your mobile to access the software with the code above. Since I already have access through beta testing (which is how i found that post in the forums) I cant test this out. will someone let us know if it works??
I just tried the code and it definitely works!

Apparently not, I just went to the sign up page and there is now an "outside of the US" checkbox which doesn't require a mobile number to join up.
EDIT: Okay maybe still not accessible outside the US but getting closer.
From the email:
"If your phone is currently not supported or live outside the U.S., you will be notified as soon as Skyfire is available for your phone type or in your area."
I think it's a code for when you already have the Skyfire and want to have access to the Olympics on your phone...
I thaught it was a code for us to get the Skyfire - I too have signed up for the Beta 2 but they just say in the mail that they don't know when the testing will start...
Skyfire requires too many personal info hoops to jump through to get.
No thanks.

ok i signed up with code and got nothing.any ideas?
No SMS
I can't receive SMS messages. (I don't have it, not even pay per use) That means no Skyfire for me either. (Not that I would give them my number so they could send me SMS spam anyway!)

i called telenav and was able to get a copy of telenav, is there an interest id me linking to it ?
Wdum? Like posting the link? Idk if thats ok on these forums unless it's the trial.
its not the trial, its the full version. but you still have to have an account to use it. they will not give it to cingular users who use the g1, but i acquired a copy. and i am not sure if these forums allow that or not.
h. I'm guessing you pay for the account? I dont really know how the app works in terms of activating lol
It's $10 a month but I don't like pay monthly I don't understand why they just don't put a price to the software and that's it. Why they charge monthly?
http://www.telenav.com/gps-navigator/t-mobile-g1-phone/
Im trying out the demo version, do you wanna post a review and screenshot of it in paid apps or would you like me to?
I haven't installed it, I always forget to cancel autostart subscriptions. Although I guess I could put a reminder in my phone.
Haha ok ill put one up there, so far it works really good, a bit sluggish but i dont have the best signal right now!

Anyone and everyone requires a credit card, for auto renewal AFTER the 30-day trial.
It's almost a standard for most companies now-a-days.

Thank you. I wouldn't put my card information in a trial version of anything. That's very "uncool."
Most credit card companies will let you make a vitual card number that is only good once. I think PayPal was exploring the same option too. This way they can't make it recurring.
any idea if it'll work in UK? on US only?
TeleNav GPS Navigator problem
hey guys,
i am using telenav gps for 30 days trial. when i tried to type in an address then click ok, the display says "getting gps" 30....31...32...34...blah blah till 100 percents for 8 minutes. then it says "no gps, please move to open area".. i was in my car and been waiting till done before leave. my email is confirmed. i live in san diego.
I don't have any experience with telenav, but does the gps work normaly? Say for goggle maps?
Move to an area that you can pick up a signal, that might help.
Telenav GPS Navigation Update? How will we know?
Ok I got the Telenav GPS Navigation software and I am mostly pleased. However, My question is when and if they update the software how will I know there's a new update for the software since it isn't downloaded through the Android Market? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Well I'm not sure. See I called the customer service not too long ago and I got this guy that didn't seem like he knew much of what he was talking about. And I asked him and he told me you had to call and ask. But I think that's ridiculous. And I agree with you. You should be able to download it on the market. It is free. Its the service u have to pay for not the application. so I hope they eventually put it on there or send us emails or something. Its gonna bug me because come on, it works pretty good but it clearly needs some updates.
Summary
Here's the deal. I have a HP Touchpad. There is a special offer on the Box.net application for the Touchpad that signs up new members for a promotional 50GB account instead of the normal 5GB account. It is the same account type as the 5GB one, but with 50GB of total storage. Account details below. This promotional offer is only available to the HP Touchpad application.
Questions and Answers
What are the account details?
50GB total storage space
10GB monthly (calendar) bandwidth
100MB file size limit
How do I qualify?
1. You must be a contributing member of this community with at least two months of active posting.
2. You must have received at least ten thanks.
Will you change your mind or make a special exception for me since I just joined/don't have ten thanks?
Absolutely not. This is a reward for contributing community members.
What do you get out of this deal?
A warm, fuzzy feeling inside.
This all sounds great and I am a contributing member! How do I get my free account?
Simple. PM me the e-mail address you want linked to the account. I will create an account for you as soon as I can using the password "xdaforums" as the default. Make sure you change it after I post a confirmation here. Please, ONE request per user. New accounts only. Void where prohibited.
How long are you offering this?
Until I get bored, or when I'm done being nice.
Can I upgrade my current 5GB account?
No. This is ONLY for new accounts. I cannot upgrade any account, because there is nothing to upgrade. This is the EXACT same account as a 5GB one, but with more space.
How many accounts do you have left to give out?
I can create an unlimited number of accounts.
Can I integrate this into Windows Explorer?
Of course you can. Follow the instructions in this post.
Disclaimer:
I don't get anything out of this deal other than a warm, fuzzy feeling of doing something nice for you. This isn't a "sign-people-up-so-I-get-more-space" deal. I don't make any money or anything off of this. All I am doing is creating your own separate account for you on my Touchpad, and turning control of the account over to you. Plain and simple, with no strings attached. I figured who better would appreciate a lot of free cloud storage than XDA, so here I am.

You need a paid account for that feature. I use it more for extra personal storage. I've got 18GB used up so far. It's handy for expanding the memory on my 16GB Touchpad.

What did I do wrong?
EDIT @ALL: It was a misunderstanding on the nature of this thread. To clarify, I'm not getting anything in return for doing this for any of you guys. I'm just being nice. I have to sign you guys up for it myself because it has to be done through the HP Touchpad Box.net application. Signing up on the website yourself gets you the standard 5GB account. This is the same as that one feature-wise, but offers 50GB instead of 5GB.
