I don't know what happened, but suddenly the words on my comm manager or bigger than they usually are and looks deformed. It's kinda hard to read now.
I've tried using downloading a different one.. but ended up with the same result.. Did this ever happen to anyone?
if the text is messed up it maybe because another app installed a font over the top of an exisiting one. What other programs have you install recently? I know I've seen one of the weather today plugins that screwed up the font in comm man.

I've installed a lot of programs recently.. I did install a weather program with today plugin.. do you think that might be the cause of it?

Ok I'm working with the Undergroud Edition rom and so far things are going well with it, but I can't stand the green comm manager background.
does anyone know where the file for this background is located? or how to change?
It's embedded into the EXE so you will have to find an old copy of Commmanager .exe and copy it across.

That's so funny as I absolutely love that green comm manager. Is smaller, BT opens and closes faster and I can close the app with HTC X-Button. My custom Orwell ROM that I cooked has this embedded.
(It IS a little freaky looking but I'm more concerned with functionality)
As an aside, the comm manager is the ONLY thing that I liked with the Underground ROM...)
I figured it out. The image files are in the "CommManagerRes.dll" I can change them from here.

I agree the comm manager has better funtionality I just don't like the color scheme which is why i didn't want to simply swap for an old one. I'm going to change the color scheme in the CommManagerRes.dll so everything still works llike it should only with something that better goes with the rest of my theme
Looking forward to your polished product!
('cause it IS butt ugly!)
im happily running the PV3 release, but im just curious as to how this comm manager looks, can anyone post an image of it?

Is the backlight fix working fultotop? I'm asking because a while ago I tested that version of the Home Plugin and the backlight fix that was in the same thread wasn't working
Yes the backlight button works for the herald, as I changed the cab to use the correct dll file. I tested it on my own P4350.
Holy crap, the weather actually works on my device with this!
You're my hero!
weather still doesn't work
I'm using the proxy and I still don't get the weather to update. It works fine when I'm connected to the wifi.
The program is partially established in \htchome, and it is possible to make that it completely was in \windows?
@Aserg
You can either cook it into a new rom or just copy the HTCHome.dll into the windows folder, and move the contents of HTCHome into the windows folder on an existing installation.
Thanks!
I've updated the package to look for the original HTCUtil.dll as I didn't want an copy of HTCUtil.dll under the name of HTCUtil1.dll. I not included the original HTCUtil.dll it's in \OEM\OEMAPPS this way the package should work on any device with original HTCUtil.dll installed.
My thanks goto schen for the work done on the original cab.
ne1 else

It worked but it changed my icon color
I was using the HERALD_WM6.0_4.17.07.15.PV.ROM and after installing this, it changed the colors of my HOME, People, Weather, Music, App icon to the standard flat gray color..(smile) Well at least the weather now works,, but I did like the added color in the Rom...
HTC home
Hi I've installed HTC home. THe only thing is working is the big clock. It's not possible to add any favourite person or activate the weather watcher or any other section. Any idea about the reason why?

That thingy there will let you customize it any way you had it before.
Forgive the noobtivity, but does this 'fix' the weather app? My weather worked the first time I used it, but now it is always attempting to connect, to no avail.
Can I install this on the stock T-Mo Wing? Or rather, did anyone else with an unmodded wing get this to work. I installed it, it came up all nice and purty, but when I went to try and change the setting it locked my wing up tight. Had to soft reset and then wouldn't re-load after the boot. Had to uninstall it.
Yay!!! I'm not alone

I am experiencing the exact same issue. The weather worked for me a few times but it seemed buggy...now nothing. Any help would be appreciated
Edit....done alot of reading ... questions as follows 1. Where can i find original htcutil.dll on my device (tmo wing) 2. how can i get this to work with an OEM type installation(HTC home in windows dir)
Does anyone know how to fix this? It occurs with either the installaton of Pimp my Black or the JasJamming utils. However even if I uninstall these, the font problem remains. I have also installed other Comm Managers and still remains.
hrmmm. well pimp my black is just for hermes as I understand it.
you are in the kaiser forum.
Pimp my black
Yes installed by mistake (now uninstalled) was looking to install the Utils - they work on the Kaiser and are installed.
However whether I uninstall or not the problem remains.
have you made a sprite backup? that's always a good start. if you did, you could always restore.
Sprite
Yes but I have to re-install all my programs. And really want to have these progs. Searching, searching here, I remember this problem on the Hermes. Hope I find the answer. Might try the Black Comm Manager. That has no fonts only icons.
It's a font installed on your device... look at \Windows\Fonts... it should be empty... delete what's in it... soft-reset and you problem is gone.
You know I have had this problem since using the new Comm manager (around Pimp my black for Hermes). While the look of my Comm Manager was different it was the same issue (since of course it was a different font), a font that was being installed in \Windows\Fonts\.
Come to find out, my old TuMa Games Pack (from my old SX-66) was installing a font.
I am so happy that I finally found out the issue!
Hi Guys,
Seem to have successfully installed Manilla 2d and got the touch HD theme working well with the digital clock.
My only problem is that I don't have the task manager quick menu at all, even though it is enabled in the task manager settings - tried resetting and the usual tricks.
If anyone could help then it would be much appreciated.

Is the whole thing gone or just the icon, will it still work if you press the space where the icon goes.
Whole thing seems to be gone. Thanks for any help.

Try going to start>settings>system>task manager>button and check enable quick menu.
See if that works.
Hi,
As per my first post, I've already tried that and it hasn't worked .

Try a different theme, if that doesn't work. remove and reinstall manilla.
Already reinstalled manilla - it was also missing when I was using the default theme so don't think it is the themes fault.
I also have this problem with xbutton - tried uninstalling then reinstalling manila, tried different themes, tried changes settings and tried reinstalling xbutton all to no avail!!! surely a hard reset is not on the cards!
Yep, I've still got this problem. The only workaround I have at the moment is installing quickmenu which allows you to do task manager stuff from the start menu - just remember to go into the options and add manila2d to the exception list so you don't close this by mistake.
Even tried installing the new htc task manager using a cab on here and that didn't work.
you should install taskmanager2.cab. i forgot what thread i got mine but you can look at TF2D threads...
Im sort of confused...
Are you talking about quickmenu application?
If so, I found the solution. I posted about this about a month ago with m2d nobody really gave me a viable answer. So I figured it out its actually sort of simple but there is a process that needs to be completed correctly.

Hi all, i flashed today Diamond_Lover's ROM, i used this ROM before and i never had this strange problem, but today, after some use, i got to the Comm Manager and i get it like this:
What can i do? There's any .cab to reinstall it?
Not only items are "moved" around, but also the style seems to be the older one (the ROM, by default, has this Comm Manager )...
Any help?
