BAD ADVICE !!!
your advice returned -->> Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)
Meanwhile .... when it comes to PDA ... it is actually means --->> SIP (soft input panel) --->>> onscreen input keyboard
~~~
From google query of "What is sip?":
Web definitions for sip = a small drink
Sorry, couldn't resist!
No need to be an asshole just because you know more than him and think noobs don't belong here. You could have just answered something like:
"The Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) is an application-layer control (signaling) protocol for creating, modifying, and terminating sessions with one or more participants.
You can find more information here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Session_Initiation_Protocol
Have a nice day bla bla"
Instead, you just said "google "what is sip?"" like "this is no place for stupid questions goddamit get out".
Show us a little kindness here.
Ps.: I also didn't know what SIP meant. And it in the end it wasn't what it really meant..!!! lol.
Oh well, I tried it b/c I didn't know either. Of course my SIP didn't make much sense to me either...but heck I'm just a GIT (geek in training). Thanks for the correction.
And sorry Alemaker for the misdirection-although with your name, maybe a small drink is the def. you were looking for, LOL
Thx- but now why would there be references I see, like in ClearTemp where there is a Dead SIP item? is a Dead SIP a bad contact point?
For PDAs, SIP can be either Soft Input Panel (soft keyboard) or Session Initiated Protocol (for VOIP calls).
Actually didn't think it was unkind. Actually, it was quite motherly given other responses on this forum. I could have copied and pasted what I read on google or let him/her read as much as he wanted or was interested in reading on google. Sheesh.
roverman: If your going to flame someone on their due diligence make sure you don't look stupid and do yours.. or actually know WTF your talking about... think before you flame at least he says hes a noob.. whats your excuse?
google "define pocket pc sip"
Alemaker:
google "ClearTemp sip"
"I've also added a new entry named "Dead SIPs". Sometimes, certain SIPs are not removed from the SIP list properly upon uninstallation. This is where this feature will be helpful. ClearTemp helps you to remove the registry key that is associated with the uninstalled SIP(s)."
did see that from the cleartemp site and that's what got me asking to begin with-what's the context here? Is his reference of SIP to an installed VOIP element-or is this something to do with the touchscreen?
In that instance it would be in relation to the SIP (Soft Input Panel). I guess sometimes they don’t uninstall correctly and that will clean the dead ones.
ok-well, that clears it up for me- I think
- lol
Thx
Let's all take a deep breath here. I didn't flame him, I tried to help with a simple solution. Very sorry I didn't ask him how his family was and wish him a happy day. I considered cutting and pasting what I read on google, but thought better to not pretend I knew what I was talking about. I guess I could have explained all this in the first post, but didn't. I've tried to help noobs, being one myself, with posts before they get ripped on by the regulars. My mistake. And have a nice day.
Chill out guys.
TLAs and FLAs are a PITA as they are extremely context sensitive.
If you don't know the answer just be quiet, don't give advices!
If you have downloaded the ICBM.CAB (not the files) that I recently posted on this site then please remove and hard reset you device as the .cab creator I used had a virus and changed you PPC user name to a Chinese one. I noticed this when my Resco Explorer said that the trial period was finished when it is a FULL version.
When I contacted Resco the email said my key did not conform with my device IMEI xxxxxxxxx Name (In Chinese!!).
Sorry for any inconveniance but it now shows we have to be careful!!!
What does the ICBM.CAB stand for? What application is it?
If you don't know then don't worry..
I don't get it, what if it's acronym of software that I've installed and just can't figure it out now, can't you just tell us what it is??
Still unsure about this as the only thing I have that's screwing my system up is Resco Explore/utilities!!
Any similar reports???
No, dont worry.
I started a thread for a game called ICBM and put the basic files there.
I then used an online cab creator to make it easier for people to install but the cab creator had a virus in it and if you have not installed that game you have no worries.
Cool, thanks for info.
I have searched for lag, slow , over clock, precessor and a bunch of other thing's and I can't find where I can find out why the hell my Kaiser is running slow as hell? Like I can't even friggin type sometimes? I close all of the program's and such and it still lag's out. I am wondering if there is a over clock program like there is for the EXCALIBER and or a ROM that people know of that is VERY fast with Window's Live and just simple stuff like that?
Please don't respond with SEARCH, I clearly have and haven't found anything that has to do with it in the title.
Thank you ahead of time.
Try These
Hello carltmac,
From what I've heard, it is not possible to overclock the Kaiser's processor at this time, simply because nobody has written any software to do this. What you can try is this task manager to see if any unnecessary programs are running, and then check your \Windows\Startup folder to see what unnecessary programs are running on startup. You can also download Cleartemp, which I like. All these programs are free. Hope this has all helped,
Dave
Our friend jockey has brought up a Kaiser Overclocking Discussion thread in the past. From what I can tell the Kaiser Processor it Maxed out and is not worth Overclocking.
In fact here it is. Did a quick search and found it.
Check it out if you like.
Thread Closed as redundant
Hi.
I recently switched to CyanogenMod 4.2.15.1. I also run Enoch theme and 10mb ram hack + compcache + apps2sd.
I can not see any comments in marketplace since. It says "No comments" on all apps. I tried to search this forum, but have not found anything. Anyone else having this problem? Marketplace works fine otherwise.
Better post it in the cyanogen mod thread, but then it won't get attention. Wrong thread anyway.
I'm having the same issue. I don't know if it's ROM related issue at all, but is kinda annoying. However, I don't usually comment on apps - I send an e-mail to the developer and if you don't like the app just give it low rating - the stars show up, right
I was not sure where to post this. I hereby apologize to any admin that has to move this. I wanted to know, if this is Cyanogen specific issue or other roms have the same problems.
I an not that interested in posting, but reading comments is sometimes handy. Not a big dealbreaker, I tend to search for apps on AndroidZoom anyway, where comments are visible.
Try checking your locale in the settings. Because the comments are shown in the language that is selected.
Thank you, this was indeed the reason. I am in Slovakia and selected Slovak locale. After going back to US settings, I can see comments. But now my date format is wrong.
Nothing I could not live with, but seems to be a bit amateurish.
Hi all,
I've noticed that there is a script embedded in the FpseCE (PSX emulator for WM) forums which redirects visitors to either rogue anti virus search results (bing page) or a fake 'your system is infected' script. This sets a cookie which means it won't show up for another 20 days. Both Firefox and IE is affected.
I assume some of the crew behind this emulator are on here or someone knows them, so would someone be able to pass along the message? I don't have time to have a proper look into what's causing it right now, but here's a blog post about this issue - http://www.theprohack.com/2010/04/new-virus-attack-blogger-wordpress.html
If you want to know what I'm talking about, go to http://www.fpsece.net/forum2/ or any page on the forums. You may need to clear your cookies! Once it's viewed, you won't see it again from that page. Remember, it's a scam so for gods sake don't click 'Ok' to anything! Ctrl+Alt+Del to close Firefox if needs be.
Hope that helps.
Little more info - the rogue script is available on every page on the forum which suggests it's probably lurking in a header somewhere on the page. The main site is unaffected.
The fake rogue scam anti-virus page (hello Google!) is hxxp://gescansecurity.org (with a referral link at the end). This page also redirects to Bing results for 'freeantivirus'
I don't like seeing scammers attempting to take advantage of anyone, let alone XDA, so hope this can get fixed asap!
