Anybody ever heard of the ring volume dropping itself to the bottom of the slider?
I keep missing calls and texts because the ring volume has turned itself off
the radio button is set to 'on' so i slide the volume up to full, then click on the speaker icon to close that box. Open it up straight away and the slider is back at the bottom!
There are other people with the same problem, it has a topic right here: volume drop.
I always adjust my volume with the 2 sliders, because I've also missed several calls when using the profile-buttons.
I had the same problem. I discovered that if I tap on the speaker part of the icon located at the top in the title bar, it would set my volume to 0. If I tap on the noise part (the 3 lines to the right of the speaker icon) it would return to the normal volume. I'm not sure if this is a bug or a feature.

fantastic, thanks.
I checked my sound & notification settings and they seemed to be set to not ring - very odd.
i'll check that thread out though

I tried to set the volume on the title bar of the today menu to something other than the lowest volume (nothing). I close it, then reopen it, the indicator resets it to the lowest volume.
Has anyone seen this before? I've tried searching but found mostly bluetooth volume isssues.
Yep, BT will do it if you have the volume off when your turn BT on. Also, if you have HTC Home make sure that in the profiles tab it's not set to silent or vibrate.
It turns out to be some weird feature. If I tap on the speaker image part, it will make the phone silent. If I tap on the sound part, the 3 lines to the right of the speaker image part, it will turn on sound. I didn't even know I had that feature.
I'm having this exact problem with my Mogul. I tried tapping on the "sound lines" like you said to fix it but that doesn't do anything. I'm stuck.
Is anyone aware of a way to change the system volume increments when using the up/down keys on the phone or E100 remote?
The volume can be adjusted more finely with the touch screen, but this means taking the phone out and fiddling around a bit. Some are finding the lowest volume you can get with hardware buttons a tad too loud with noise canceling phones that sit in the ear canal.
Thanks
Would be VERY usefull....
I too am wondering that. I looked in the tweaks section and searched around but no concrete answer for it.
This would actually be very usefull!!!
Don't sweat it Guys.
Both default volume bubble and HTC Volume Control controls the volume in following increments: Vibrate>Silent>20>40>60>80>100. There's no other way to fine tune it.
Maybe the HTC Volume Control UI is a bit misleading, but if you tap with the stylus, you'll see and hear that every procent has 3 corresponding lines.
If you tap it, you can get it in 1 line increments, this is not a misleading UI, it adjusts the volume in 1 step increments. You may not be able to notice it with the phones speaker but you sure can with earphones.

Exactly.
If You listen to music 3bars is often too loud but 1 or 2 is perfect. So a solution for this would be very helpfull.

Also looking for a solution to this problem...
I have a touch pro2 and as you describe here the system volume can be changed 1 bar at a time with finger.
But it can also be changed 1 bar at a time pressing the volume buttons (or volume buttons on headset) IF the screen is turned OFF. If the screen is ON the buttons will move it 3 bars.
If the phone is locked then it does not matter if the screen is OFF, it will still move it 3 bars at a time. So right now I never use the lock on the phone as I need the 1 bar step size when listening to music with my headset.
Hi all,
My phone doesn't ring when there are incoming calls, it only flashes the light. When I switch to vibrate mode, it does vibrate. How can I fix such problem. Please advice.
Thx in advance for any input.
There are 2 volume settings: System volume, and Ringer volume. Make sure both of them are turned up. I assume you can hear other sounds?

i have same problem and its not the ringer volume setting. someone please help. im missing so many calls cuz of this. thanks
As already noted, sounds like you have System Vol up and have also gone into 'Settings/ Sound', and made sure phone volume slider is turned up.
I had the same problem for awhile, the two are linked, unless you manually turn the sound down (in Settings), then it will respond to the System level buttons only to the manually set sound level. I had inadvertantly turned my phone volume all the way down, thinking the System setting would adjust it to wherever I wanted it, not so and I missed some calls.
You probably have also checked to make sure the Phone ringer selection is not set to 'none'.
i had this same problem and i had turned everything up and still nothin..i did a hard restart and after that it worked
Exact same problem, didn't realise until reading this thread that there is an arrow at the top of the volume control which takes you to the ringer volume. Problem solved - cheers.

Have the same problem, but I don't see any <, button or another sound/volume menu, pls anyone?
Htc touch pro not ringing
I haven't had a ringer in six months. Only vibrate. I have tried everything. I don't understand 'the arrow at the top of the volume' control. Is that the slide button on the side of the phone that has system/ring options?
hi.. i also had same problem..what i do was... copy ringtone to music in phone memory..and one thing only the cut edited mp3 can play.. i think.. mine now ok..
I am using the KaiserTouch ROM along with the 3G dialer for video calling and I am noticing issues when trying to change the volume of the call using the scroll wheel.
For example, on the highest setting, the person I call gets feedback, so I turn the dial to lower the sound, but it lowers it too drastically and I can barely hear anything.
When trying to turn the sound back up, whilst the display shows full volume, the phone is still on a low volume setting.
Sometimes I can fix it by scrolling the wheel up and down, but sometimes it ends up cutting the sound altogether and will not go up. I have to hang up, and ring back.
Anyone else experienced this on the same ROM, or WM6.5 in general?
Thanks in advance!
not sure about your exact problem.
my scroll wheel has been screwed (hardware problem) since a few months after i got my tytn2 (brand new). essentially, the scroll wheel works but "skips" a LOT. for example, in any application, i click once down and it starts scrolling up and down like it has a mind of its own.
since then, i have trained myself to use the d-pad in all situations. during a call, i just flick the scroll wheel once to bring up the in-call volume control. then i use the d-pad to get to the volume level that i want. i suggest you try the same thing, i.e. try to use the d-pad to adjust the volume after bringing up the in-call volume slider with the scroll wheel.

follow that thread, might solve your problem
Can we not do this like on every other phone I've ever had?
I use the app volume control. No issues at all.
When I use the volume rocker it seems to affect both ringtones and notifications. I think the volume settings are relative.
Here are volumes before adjustment, after backing out to home and turning up with volume rocker. . No sync.
Right, which is why I was saying perhaps they're relative. All I know for sure is, when I use the volume rocker, it affects both notification volume and ringer volume.

Which I'm saying I do NOT get that behavior. So, in order to change notification volume, I HAVE to go into settings>volumes and adjust it manually. Pretty damn lame.
I'd like to see something like this:

Are you sure the actual volume (i.e. the decibels coming out of your speaker) doesn't change, regardless of what the sliders in the volume app say? I realize the sliders don't necessarily reflect what you might expect, but change the volume, have someone call you, then text, then change the volume again and test again. When I do that, both go up and down as you'd expect.
Just tested. Only the ringer/phone call volume went up. Text stayed very low in volume until I manually went into Settings>Sounds and changed the Notification volume.
I just tested specifically and have to rescind what I said. That's really strange, I could have sworn I'd been changing my text message volume and ringer.
I'd like to bump this up too. Anyone not update to the new Advanced calling firmware yet confirm if this is happening with them too? I am on the new update and just noticed this

I now have the update but can confirm the same behaviour before the update.
Still doing this on 4.4.4.12 - very annoying.
I only took the day one update, call and notification volumes are NOT linked.
