Hi, I am total registry noob so I need a help with this.
I want to flash a new rom that dont have operator settings(wap, mms, internet) for orange sk, but the rom I am using now has that.
So the question is: is it posible to backup some registry from this rom and restore it in the new one? If yes, does anybody know what registry I need to backup?
I have never done the settings via registry... I always enter them myself.
This works fine as long as you know what they are. I jsut googled "orange GPRS internet settings sk" and got this:
http://windowsmobilesk.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!2C19B58AE653A521!116.entry
It would be worth checking that these match what you have already before you flash a new rom though....

Thanks a lot,
I sorted this problem by copying file: provizion.zip from the older rom(that has the settings) to the new one(that doesnt have the settings). And it worked.
Thanks again, I appreciate your help.
No problem...
Good luck with the ROM upgrade. I am using Duttys UC 5.2.19199 RTM and it is SO much better than the original T-Mobile ROM. Much faster and smoother running.

Ok...Im thinking of flashing.....currently on t-mob default 1.37.x.x and .03 radio.
I know there isnt a radio in swifts rom and recomended is .05.
So whos using this and hasnt had any probs....ie gps, internet, sms etc all working - no issue.
Ive read stuff about having to cold-start gps after flashing is that really necessary?
Im not keen on flashing but this rom looks like what I want which is close to HTC original but faster.
I'm using radio .05 but not Swifts rom (im using Dutty's and i had Panosha's before) and i also have an MDA C4 and i can say that the radio is much better than .03, better battery life and the gps tracks much quicker! Hope this helps!
I'm using radio .05 and Swifts ROM 6.5 on my Compact IV with T Mob for a week now. No problems - GPS was very quick to get a fix...but I'm about to flash to 7.0

Guys - did you flash the radio at the same time as the rom...Im unclear as to whether you can flash them independently?
Which HardSPL did you use?
Did you have to do anyting with the GPS in terms of cold start after flashing?
Which backup tools are you using between flashing...?
Appreciate your help.
i flashed the hardspl, radio then the rom, all seperately
for backup im using spb backup and Jeyo Mobile Companion which successfully keeps the message threading intact!

Hi to all!
I want to know if is possible to have a Cab with the social networking engine from blackstone (Upload to facebook and youtube).
I Think that it's not impossible but it will update ManilaAlbum...
I know that only 2 roms have this function working (Dutty and UDk) but it will be great if everyone could install it...
No one knows?
*Bump*
I'd like to know if its possible to get the updated versions of HTC Album as a seperate installer also rather than having to flash a Rom which i'm a bit reluctant to do.
the social network engine is not only in htc album... it has a package for windows mobile too... I hope someone put a cab with all the necessary things...
Does anyone have this cab?
Bump bump bump
Da_G posted a cab in his raphael rom thread. Click on the paper clip to find it.
Umm, facebook didn't work for me. check it out.
ive just tried the edited gab from the thread suggested above and im running stock 1.93 rom and it works perfect for facebook and its quick!
thanks for all help everybody and especially DA_G for his work
you were able to make facebook work?
I couldn't, what phone are you using? on what network? did you put any special settings?

Does this work for Sprint HTC touch pro? Was posted at wmpoweruser that it was not working on it: http://wmpoweruser.com/?p=2188
any updates?
im not sure it works on my diamond as said earlier ive got 1.93 rom and compact .net 3.5 but it works perfect after installing that cab
I have a fuze, and am running Da_G's rom, and it wouldn't work.
just installed and tested, I am getting a Login Error : There was a connection error while attempting to login.
do i need a custom rom... i thought this was made for the oem rom?
This is in the themes section

Hi, I'm on UK T-Mobile and I cant get it to log into my facebook account, keep getting login error........ any ideas why this is? anyone else experiencing this? I am using Morna 1.7.1 (which I must add is an excellent ROM... very fast!).
Thanks
After a lot of efforts by a lot of people in the Raphael, i want to send a special thanks to Captain_Throwback
I sent him the rilphone.dll used in the diamond Rogers ROM to enable Name Display on my Diamond using Dutty's ROM v.4
With his knowledge he was able to cook a cab with the proper settings to enable name display without having to cook it directly in the rom.
Thats fantastic!
Please post your experience and what ROM you used this on.
I guess I will be the first to test this on 6.5.....
UPDATE:
One word....Brilliant
Thank you so much. I had this when we were in the 1.93 ROM days but then lost compatiblity with the newer ROMS.
This Restored it back...GREAT
Thanks for sharing D0MZE and thanks to Captain_Throwback.
Do I need to be running the original Rogers 1.00.25.06 radio too? Hesitant to try...tried a couple months ago using another method...didn't work and had to hard reset...

On another "Rogers" thread, it was pointed out to me that this solution would only work if my "ROM has been patched to supported unsigned drivers", which is something I don't know.
See the thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=347882&page=33
I am actually not using the stock radio rom provided by rogers.
I updated my radio rom to 1.09.25.23
I'm not sure if Dutty in his rom has set the setting for unsigned drivers.
As far as I know, this worked, and was only on a software basis... I've been following the other thread about the raphael and it seems Captain_Throwback only did changed/added some Registry settings to make it work.
On that note, the rilphone.dll was taken out directly out of rogers original rom (the rom that came with the phone)
Does this not work with Duttys 5.2.20764.1.4.3_V4_Full_MSVC [2.03]?
I installed it and doesn't seem to do it.
Thanks
can someone getting working for D2 please

So I don't know? It should in theory work.
or you want to try something like this. You need to have data plan to make it works.
http://www.truecaller.com/
will this work on other htc wm phones; ie tilt on TOC 6.5; or tytn on wm 6.1??
My guess is that no... but if you're willing to try.. the worst thing that can happen is that you will have to hard reset your phone, but at least if you do try and it works, i mean it can help a lot of people.

CNAP on my Diamond with Roger's Wireless network is working for me after installing this rilphone cab. Thank you D0MZE, Captain_Throwback and the other contributors.
I have found that generally after flashing a new radio, I need to re-install the rilphone cab for the caller name to show up in the call history list. Also, I have assumed that in order to keep the Roger's CNAP functionality, I need to stay with this rilphone until Roger's issues a newer version. I also don't really like hard resets so I'm being conservative about flashing. So for now, as I experiment with newer radios, I keep using the rilphone cab provided in this thread.

You can use diff radios with the CAB, but just that sometimes functions in the radio arent implemented in the rilphone.dll which kinda sucks.
For now it will take time until rogers releases another windows mobile phone, so... my opinion is that we're going to have to wait.
Damn rogers.
Concerning the @ sign, it's normal, it just means that the name is longer than what the phone can take.
Has anyone tried this on a tilt with a custom ROM? Tempted to try this...

Rogers Name Display for WM6.5 HTC HD2
It doesn't work for WM6.5 on my HTC HD2, can somebody share rilphones.dll from WM6.5 Rogers/Fido device with me?
Just in case i dont like it or am i stuck with cooked roms thereafter?
Yes, Once installed HardSPL, you can put on any rom you wish,
This means, that you can flash Official Roms (Perhaps to change language) or Cooked Roms, As long HardSPL is on your device, you can reflash any Rom that is built for your device
Since HardSPL cannot be removed by flashing a rom (you can remove it with the removal utility) you don't have to worry about Official or Cooked roms ;-)
Hey!
Thanks for such an informative and quick reply!
I'm just thinking about my warranty etc and also whats the best 6.5 to try whilst i have your help?
Does Dutty not do Tpaz roms?
Cheers

W.r.t warranty, if you ever have to send your phone in for repair under warranty, be sure to remove hard SPL with the removal tool first
Thanks mate, whats the 6.5 rom you are running like? is it fast? any benefits?

Dutty does not work on the Topaz (yet? xD)
I still use a highly (self) customized stock rom,
If you want to use a 6.5 rom I'd recommend Tom's or udK's roms.
And indeed, if you ever need to return your phone, Try to flash a stock rom & remove HardSPL from your device, and you should be ok ;-)

I am running Tom Codons' latest 6.5 ROM - Biggest benefit to me is that windows media player appears to have more video codecs than before - I can now play vids that would not play on 6.1.
Toms ROM is genreally fast and bug free and he includes a registry editor for your convenience!
Ok great thanks guys!
As HTC dont supply a stock rom are the original rooms on the wiki mirror the same?

The ROM's which names start with RUU... are official ROM's from HTC. The question is if you find the original ROM that is on your TOPAZ right now.
If it is not listed yet, you might not be able to get back to your original status once u flashed a cooked ROM.
A possibility is to dump your original ROM and try to create the files for reflashing it. I never tried by myself, but I see in the threads of "TOPAZ ROM development" that it is not that easy.
At the end it's your decision to accept the risk.
Great thanks!
Well im flashing with Toms 6.5 rom and yeah i have hardspled
Cheers guys!
oh and i have a tomtom 7 version, what sat nav you all preferring? need to get an 'extended' version ideally to play with
I had some voice problems with tomtom, So I use iGo8
what did that cost ya?
Not that much *rolling eye's*

I was previously using Tomtom but had the voice command cut-off problem and the fix available here didn't fix it.
@ Garmin XT users,
I don't know that particular GPS software,
And have 2 questions about it,
1) Does it have Dutch voices?
2) Does it have a Belgium only map?
If you could answer these questions I would be very happy,
Cause iGo8 isn't the best there is either

Yes, the Netherlands is listed in the voice options. I don't think a Belgium only map is available. I have the Europe map with mine.
aww, thats sad, I only use a Belgian map, So I don't need all the others...
Well I'll look into it ;-)
Thanks for your reply!
