anyone know what's wrong?
Thanks for any answer.
Kind regards, Alyosha
(i can upload .cab if you need it to try it or somthing)
You're not Sprint's subcriber, then how comes do you think that you can run SprintTV? Try MobiTV yet?
hmm i have downloaded some ShareFree version witch don't need any subscription(i think so). And the guy witch upload this torrent said that it works perfect on his tytn II?!

Mobi TV even works here in TW. no hack, nothing. just downloaded the "press release' on their site (whatever that means)
Unfortunatly, it constantly pops up an Error message after a few seconds of viewing.
MobiTV works anywhere. It doesn't have proxy limit. I never try SprintTV yet; however, I think it likes CingularTV which requires proxy to work.

That, my friend, is warez. The TyTN II does not have a CDMA version nor is the GSM version compatible with Sprint's network. My guess is Sprint is detecting that you're trying to access their network and locking you out.

I think what your friends mean is a tytnII phone for sprint version or CDMA phone. I saw the HTC Hermes for sprint phone. I don't know if Sprint also have a new tytnII

Hi I'm new to any kind of pocket PC's and to this board. I have some questions that are probably extremely naive but where else to learn eh? I browsed every thread and couldn't find answers at my level.
I purchased an XdaIIi from ebay. Oddly it seems we can't buy phone/PC's like these here in NA.
How do I check those versions/numbers I keep seeing quoted. Stuff like ROM Version, Radio Version, Protocol, ExtROM? Where are those numbers and what is their significance?
What is O2 active? What is GPRS? Is that relevant to me living in Canada?
What is active sync?
I've heard 'tomtom' mentioned a number of times, what is that?
Can somebody link me to some retail stores selling the XdaIIi? I'm curious to see what they go for new.
Is there any way to stop the internet connect bubble from popping up every time I come within range of somebody's LAN?
I'm also a medical student (reason for buying) - any suggestions on where to find medical freeware?
Sorry for the crappy knowledge, just trying to learn what I can.
As a follow up question - my phone didn't come with a manual or any software. How do I connect it to my PC - the auto-recognize doesn't do it. I'm assuming a person can browse the pocketPC from their PC? Does a person typically download pocket PC software with the PC and send over to the pocket PC, or is it easier to download upgrades/accessories/plug-in/whatever directly to your pocket PC.
Again sorry for the no-knowledge questions. Hope somebody can steer me the right direction.

Goto Start->Settings->System->Device Information It's all displayed in there.
The ROM Version, is the version of Windows Mobile Rom you have, I think! Mine's 1.11.00 WWE - which as far as I can tell is the latest World Wide English version.
Radio version is the actual cell phone radio version - 1.04 being the latest.
Protocol I have no idea (anyone else help me out here?!)
ExtRom is the software that gets loaded up extra to Windows Mobile usually in the case of XDA IIi users, O2 Active, which is a really crap bit of software for accessing the internet and stuff on your phone easier, but in actual fact does nothing other than slow the IIi down and make it crash! (well maybe I over exaggerate a little, but it is annoying!) There are some other bits of software that get put on in the O2 ExtRom that are of some use, so I generally let it all go on and manually remove the O2 Active bit!

GPRS is General Packet Radio Service - in layman's terms, Broadband Internet for cell phones! It will probably be relevant to you if you can find the settings for your Network Provider in Canada.

No you also need the PC software at that link for the two to talk to each other.
I downloaded the active sync software but it's still won't sync. Any suggestions?
did it ask you to set up a partnership when you put the XDA in the cradle??
BTW, Rogers AT&T GPRS settings are at http://www.dslreports.com/faq/7428 obviously I can't tell you if they work or not!
Nope it didn't ask to set up a partnership.
It has the standard thing when you plug USB - 'windows has detected new hardware - pocketPC smarphone'. The hardware wizard then fails to install anything because it can't find software.
In the microsoft activesync folder on my PC there is a single dll file. Is there supposed to be more?
There should be a lot more than just a single dll :? Try re-installing Activesync
Hmm ya now it works. The GPRS isn't working but that makes sense since that kind of things would be something I'd probably have to pay for as an extra. Thanks for the help.
i thought to ope a new thread about this.
i tried to get bb connect on wm6 (at&t) versions 2 and 4.
i didn't get any of them to work.
did sombody succeeded in the meantime?
is there a new version coming up?
hope te hear...
Tried them both too on my 750C w/ WM6, unsuccessful. Right now I am on BBC 4.0.0.90, still not working, getting from: No Connection -> Network Available -> Data Tunnel Available (at this point gets an IP address) -> No connection. The PIN is never generated so BBC is unusable for now. I was following a thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=294218 , tried to modify my AKU version (didn't try to modify the build in the ROM though) w/ no results.
In the mean while, Hermes/ATT 8525 w/ WM6 and BBC 4.0.0.90 works just fine. What are we missing here ? Anyone w/ a clue ?
I am happy that someone opened a thread for this, I hope we'll get a fix.
Thanks,
HC
i've upgraded mine with wm6 non attws , unable to connect on bbc4 as well
does anybody know the latest b uild of the bb connect software (and where to get it)
i have (downloaded from vodafone nl)
blackberry version 4.0.0.67
transport version 4.0.0.70
and does anybody has a list of new features in later releases
I have 4.0.0.90, check the thread that I posted above for links to download it. Also Google for "Blackberry Connect 4.0.0.90" and I am sure you'll get something. I think the 4.0.0.90 version is not specifically for Treo 750, it's rather for larger screen devices, like the Hermes etc. but it doesn't bother me scrolling a little bit in one or two tabs.
Good luck,
HC
i'm on 750v wm6.0 vodafone and can't get bbc4 to work
not even 2.1
argh!
pissing me off!
I recommend you just to wait a couple of days with the device switched off. I have a HTC Touch, vodafone, Germany. Downloaded Blackberry 2.1 and 4.0, didn't work. Never got a PIN ("PIN pending"). Read somewhere that it worked after a couple of days, so I switched my device off and was frustrated. I even wanted to sell it on eBay already. After 2 days I switched it on again, and, guess what, I had a PIN in the Blackberry software!!! Then I configured my Touch using BlackBerry Activesync Software, and it's now working!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Version 4.0!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So my recommendation: Try to wait 48 hours.
Currently no BB client is working with WM6 Treo, no matter if you use 2.1.2.52 or 4.0.0.67 or 4.0.0.90. Its always the same, as soon as you connect to the BlackBerry infrastructure you are blocked >>> no IP-adress >>> no connection. Sometimes you can connect one time and when you send the PIN via register now you lose the connection and never get it back again. RIM blocks all device/client/provider combinations which are not supported by the providers. So if you have a provider who supports BlackBerry on WM6 Treo you should be able to connect. I have not found a provider who is doing that so far. The same is with HTC S710. This device worked fine with BB connect 4.0.0.67 for some time, but now you are blocked by RIM if your provider does not support BB on the device.

Wrong. I have been using BBC 4 on my Hermes for months with AT&T and as far as I know the Hermes is supposed to be a "blocked" device. It's not that RIM is blocking it, it's that the software has to be HEX edited to work with WM6. No version of BBC will work on WM6 on the Treo until someone smarter than me can cook up a ROM that is HEX edited to run BBC.
Anyone succeeded in gettings this to work - I'm about to flash to Wm6 so better be sure...

I just got this and it works perfectly on my S710. I had got wipe the device and do a fresh install of the application. Give it a shot. Make sure you have an Active Sync connection to your device before trying to install.
http://sems.org/content/download/bbc4/bbconnect_wm6_standard_bb_4.0.0.84.zip
On the AT&T Rom you get Uncertified System Software detected on the install. I assume this is because the S710 is a smartphone rather than a WM device?
Strange thing today on my 750c - Got PIN
Hi all,
It seems that something is changing w/ either RIM or ATT. I installed again today BBC 4.0.0.90 onto my 750c w/ WM6 ATT leaked ROM, after the normal reboot, surprisingly, BBC service connected to the network and I got a PIN. Clearly it said "Connected" on the status tab. Well, I connected the device to my laptop and ran the BBC Desktop, the system was provisioned properly (I think ...), Notes Backend, but now it fails to connect to Blackberry, same symptoms as before, even after multiple soft resets, see comments above. I'll play around some more w/ it and let you all know if I get anything to work. In the mean while, if anyone else has any success, please share ....
Good luck
HC
PS. Posted this in the "Palm Treo 750" forum too ... hope I don't bother anyone

Installs fine. Gives me PIN and IMEI but no IP and no connection. IT says Network Available and tries to reconnect every few mins. I'll wait for few hours before unistalling it. Sometimes Blackberry Service can take little bit longer to register on USA T-mobile provider.

Use one of the attached cabs to identify your phone as an N95. Personally I use it for Vodafone Live access, but I'm told it also works for those on "Planet 3".
You can install and uninstall the cab to switch between N95 and TyTN II as required, but a soft reset is needed after installation.
It uses a modified "browser.dll" file, which is different for WM6 and WM6.1 so make sure you install the correct one...!
Iv installed the cab, although i dont understand what you mean with switching between n95 etc. I cant find any program or application that has been installed by doing cab installation that you suggested?! Cheers
It doesn't install any program. It changes the way your phone reports itself to websites. In this case the website will think you are holding a n95 which is one of their "approved! phones so it should just work. Try using IE to go back to the planet 3 page and see what happens with the cab installed.
Yeah, sorry. I wasn't very clear.
If this is installed then the website you are visiting thinks you are holding an N95.
If it is not installed, then the same website will think you are holding a TyTN II.
By installing / removing / installing / removing, etc. You can "switch" between an N95 and a TyTN II
I see what you mean now about switching. Installed and tested and it works really well thanks the difference between 3 HSDPA and T-Mobile HSDPA is amazing dont know what T-Mobile are playing at its so slow!
Glad it's working!

You are my hero. I have been searching for months to find a 3UK cab that would let me use Windows Live Messenger while I had the 3UK sim card in my Kaiser. The original 3UK settings even blocked the use of Live Messenger while connected to my wifi if I had the 3UK sim card in the Kaiser.
Now you come along and solved all my problems...thank you thank you thank you!
Just a shame that I bought agile mobile a few months ago to workaround the problem, but that's life
Thank you again kind sir.
oops double post
they dont share at the moment, not expected til later on the year. does take a bit of time to set this kind of stuff up! only announced last month!
also works for 3ireland
Glad it's working for everyone. I've certainly found it very handy - Still can't believe that Vodafone and 3 make us use workarounds like this though.
I wouldn't be paying Vodafone £10 per month for MobileTV if I hadn't figured this out, so they'd be worse off. Have to wonder how many new subscribers they'd get if they dropped the restriction entirely...?

Hello everyone!
Thank-you very much sub69 for sharing your knowledge & expertise on this matter!
I have just taken out a contract with "3", and would like to use my unlocked SPV M700 (HTC Trinity) to access the plethora of services I am entitled to as a 3 contract customer!
I was wondering though (as I'm quite happy with my current setup/config of my SPV M700) whether the WM6 version will work on WM5, or is the .dll file significantly different between WM5 and WM6 (as I did notice WM6 and WM6.1 have different versions)?
Many thanks for your help in advance...
Any need to "switch back"?
Dear all,
I am really interested in this file in order to be able to access Planet 3 / Austria. Before installing I have a tiny question, however.

Now my question is: If Planet 3 successfully can be displayed with a HTC phone (in that way disguised as a Nokia one) - is there any need to switch back to the original HTC-mode?
I mean - does the N95-cab file affect the HTC's other functions in any way?
Because it seems a lot of work to constantly "switch" between HTC and N95, which requires a soft reset as it happens.
I'd be glad if I could just install the N95-disguise on my HTC TyTN II and leave it that way.
Thank you very much in advance!

Stephan

I've been living in the dark ages as of late... I finally went from WM6 up to WM6.1 (mainly for the threaded texting).
Now that I have, it seems that the phone doesn't work around 'some' towers... in other areas, it works perfectly fine.
If I try another ROM, will this likely correct this problem or is this a ATT problem? Any thoughts/info would be most appreciated.

I've myself not been able to get this working on my fuze. My thoughts are it might be dependant on running WM 6.5. I've tried killing a bunch of processes before installing. EDIT: So I tried Text *persons name* and it worked, but when I spoke my message it said unable to reach network.
What Rom version are you running?

None as of yet... My original thoughts were that it was 6.5 dependant... but it would seem its actually network dependant and thats why it had issues installing from the original exe. It would get to where it needed the network confirmation and fail.
I'll be reading other forums and post back here as soon as I see something relevant
