Thats exactly the time, when my Herald started to bug me with connection intertuptions and various radio-malfunctions. After messing around with the neworksettings I finaly got rid of these Problems by reinstalling HTC WM6 RUU and then switch back to my preferred costum ROM.
I verified this behaviour by starting the Network Wizard again. As I experienced same problems again, I can only recommend to avoid using the network wizard.

Kasier now refusing to connect to T-Mobile UK 3G?

I've been using my phone with no problems for the past few days, but today it refuses to connect to the T-mobile UK 3G network... as far as i'm aware, i haven't changed any settings! Yesterday i was fiddling around with the MMS sending options... but i doubt this will have anything to do with it!
Looking in my connection settings, my options have been (automatically) set to:
Access point name: general.t-mobile.uk
Username: T-mobile
Password: (automatically filled in, so i dunno what it's using)
Proxy settings enabled, and set to :149.254.201.132
- Can anyone confirm if there's anything wrong with those settings?
- Are other UK ppl using the Kaiser getting any issues?
- T-Mobile wouldn't block my phone from connecting would they? (i'm assuming not!)
Thanks!
From memory the username is wapuser, password wap.
Something strange going on, as I'm on three(UK) and mines stuck on G only, when I have a 3 modem which is happly on 3G, but also my bro is having problems with tmob as well this morning.
I'm hoping it's an issue at T-Mobile's end :S
Grrr no matter what i do, it doesn't connect.... rebooted several times etc... just wont connect.
Where are you located, it could be a Local T-Mo thing, mine at home went off the other month for a day.
I've been on a train all morning from Sheffield to London and have been web n' walking all the way no probs.
Travelled from SE London, now in Central(ish) london (NW6)...
Normally the 3G connection is flaky on the journey in, but i cannot connect whatsoever right now!

I've had temporary problems today in the morning on the way work in London as well, but finally I've got connected. Relax - such problems don't have to mean your device is faulty. Mobile networks also have bad days sometimes, you know.
I've had no 3g for 4 days on t-mobile uk in kent. I normally have speeds of 1mb. Guess somethings broken.
try using user as the username and wap as the password. i had a problem connecting to t-mobile last week, i changed the auto configured setting and put the old user and wap setting in and they worked, oh i also unticked the proxy server option. basically its the same setting i use for my mda vario. it solved the problem though

What's 'officially' the correct details to use?
I can't find it on the T-Mobile site
Ok, now I see...
Had same problem this morning on my way from SE London to Central... It should be T-mobile. The only way I managed to connect was forcing GSM, and then going back to auto. Device quickly connected to GPRS and then swiched to HSDPA...
For settings: there are about 15 different combinations and they all work.
User: user
Pass: pass
That's what I normaly use...
Ah right
Well while i was on the phone to T-moblie, i asked them to activate HDSPA for me Yay!
Will i receive a TXT or something, asking me to reboot my phone once it's been activated? (how long do they usually take to activate it?)
Thanks!
No text and pretty instant without reboot in my case from memory.
BTW I'm in SE1 and have experienced network issues today.
HSDPA will work automatically as long as your in an area that can get HSDPA
Yay, it seems im HSDPA enabled now, and connected! woohoo!
Yes, seems like a T-mobile issue. Can get a data connection (on vpn.t-mobile.uk) but the VPN on top of it does not get through. Ordinary surfing is OK, but updating QuickGPS isn't.
Thanks guys, I was starting to get worried. Had problems with 3G yesterday morning and today. Traveling from Kent into London Bridge

tilt/tytn II internet stops working

the internet stops working on my at&t tilt. I can't go to websites or download pic messages. I can do a soft restart and it works again for a while then stops again. anyone else have this happen? kinda hoping an upgrade to wm6.1 will help but waiting for the at&t ROM.
ideas to fix this?
i sometimes have that issue. to fix it i just go to comm manger and change it to airplane mode and back to phone. then it will reconnect to the 3g network and the internet comes back. its better then doing a soft reset
Try using ClearTemp
I have the same problem when I use T-Mobile's 5.99 T-Zones plan. I usually just use cleartemp and it clears it right up.
i am having the same problem. my internet data just stop working all together. my Internet explorer, opera 8 and 9 all stop working with atnt data plan. Opera mini still work under the date network. wifi is ok. I try reseting and also reflashing new roms but still now luck. need help.
I have the same issue. I'll open IE and type in an address and it loads a white screen and says done. Haven't found a fix yet.
im using the tmobile 5.99 plan too.
i had a problem one time when the phone magically wiped out the proxy settings... so i was unable to use the web for quite a while until i figured out the proxy settings were wiped out blank.
i dunno know how that happened but it did.

[HELP] GPRS not working

A strange problem..
I recently got GPRS activated on my sim..
When i try connecting on my Diamond, the E becomes active and it tries to connect.. But after abt 30 secs to a min, it says "Cannot connect for an unknown reason... etc etc.."
I initially thought it was a problem with the network..
But, when i put the same sim in my old Asus P525, set up the connection and tried to connect, the G became active and got connected within a few seconds!!!
From then i've been tryin to connect on my Diamond and have got connected about twice with E in the signal bar.. But that must've been some freak accident cos after a few hours i tried connecting w/o changing any of the settings and absolutely no luck!
I've tried almost all the cooked ROM's. And different radios.
Right now i'm on the Official WWE ROM 1.93.
Hard SPL 1.23 or 1.24.
And 1.00.25.03 Radio.
Any idea about what's wrong, guys?
Make sure you have the correct GPRS/WAP settings installed on your HTC Diamond.
There are different settings for Payandgo and Contract SIM cards.
You can try searching Google for them, or if you live in the UK try this website: http://www.filesaveas.com/gprs.html

prank1, the settings are right..
That's why it's working on my old phone..
I think it may have somethin to do with Edge and GPRS..
Maybe my service provider does not have Edge capabilities..
If i'm able to restrict my Diamond to try and connect to Edge and connect to GPRS instead, it may work..
Any way that could be done?

My bad - didnt see the 'set up connection' bit so I assumed you didnt have the correct settings.
I had this problem once but it went away with a ROM upgrade - that was when I had the XDA Orbit.
The problem may be that my phone does not try connecting to GPRS and directly tries to connect Edge..
Isn't the connection supposed to be G-E-3G, in that order?
Is there any way i can prevent my phone tryin to connect to Edge?
Can i make GPRS as first preference instead?
Anybody? Please?
From what i heard my diamond doesn't support US( or Canada which is where i live) 3g because of diamonds hardware so that's why it only connects to edge which is really slow... anyways to connect i had to phone rogers my wireless provider and they gave me my username and password which was needed to connect online. So i'm guessing it's the same for you if you go to
Settings > Connections > rogers internet( for mine) > Manage existing connection
from there you'll go to the next page where you can input your info.

Hey.. That doesn't seem to be the prob since i can get it to work on my old PDA with the same settings..
That phone gets connected and it shows 'G'.
What might help me is somethin to block my phone tryin to connect to Edge before it even tries to connect to GPRS..
I don't think that's practical, but wishful thinking..
I've had the same issue with my Diamond, I know for sure that the network settings are correct as it sometime connects fine and other times I keep getting the "Cannot connect for an unknown reason..." error- only a soft reset would resolve the issue. Seems a bit random but am trying to monitor what is causing it.
It always used to work fine on my Hermes. BTW I'm using Dutty's ROM on my Diamond.

Yeah.. Sounds almost like my prob..
Could it be a rare manufacturing defect sort of thing thats affecting our phones?
Cos nobody else seems to have such an issue..
And i keep changing between Dutty's and Panosha's ROM..
I don't know if it's same problem you have ,
but I had kinda same problem..
I found that the lame ActiveSync change the proxy of my internet connection and put in the internet connection proxy my local proxy at work, even I removed the proxy it didn't help (dunno why) , just by adding new connection from the advance and adding new name etc.. it solve the problem...

I've only had my Diamond (MDA Compact IV) for only about 3-4 weeks. I was so keen to flash to a different ROM that I did so within 10-15 hours of receiving the device; my point being that I didn't get to try out my data connection on the stock T-Mobile ROM.
The connection seems to be fine today...!

I'll try adding a new connection..
Thanx..
As I know something with Activesync **** the GPRS connection..

Ok.. Note the "E" in the first pic and in the second..
The first one is 'clear' and the second one is 'hazy'!
When the "E" is 'clear', my GPRS connects!!!
I found this out after putting a different sim card of a different network and connecting..
When i put the other sim card, i got 'clear' "E" and GPRS worked..
Then i put back my old sim card and on switching on the phone, the "E" was still 'clear'!!
On tryin to connect, it worked!!!! Even after several manual diconnections, it worked only cos the "E" was still 'clear'..
Then i reset my phone with my sim card and got the 'hazy' "E".. And back to square one.. Not connecting..
My question is, what does this 'hazy' "E" mean and how do i make it 'clear'???! Only then my GPRS seem to work!
Help!!!!!!
This is how it is when connected properly..
Cannot connect for an unknown reason
I also had this problem. To make my story short, I have a data plan with Claro Peru which I have been using with my Touch (not 3G phone) with no problems. 3 days ago I acquired my Diamond 3G US version. When attempted to connect to the HSDPA I got the error mentioned here (cannot connect for..., sometimes the "H" symbol was difusse [like in the picture in a previous post in this thread], etc). The root cause of this was that my data plan only have GPRS/EDGE activated, my network provider (Claro) differentiates 2G internet vs 3G (so no HSDPA/UMTS until subscribing to a new plan).
The **SOLUTION** for my case was to select under "Select your network type" the option GSM (Start, Settings, Phone, Band tap). The option Auto was the default. Thus restricting to EDGE my data connection (which is according to my plan). Also, on the same tap I selected UMTS(850+1900)+GSM(850+1900) under "Select you GSM/UMTS band". You have to select here the frequencies according to your country.
P.S. The problem was the same before and after I updagred my ROM to RUU_Diamond_HTC_WWE_2.03.405.3_Radio_Signed_Diamond_52.51.25.26_1.09.25.23_Ship. So, two things to mention here. 1, A ROM upgrade is not the solution for this problem (in my case). 2, you can upgrade the Diamond US version (my is DIAM110) with a WWE ROM upgrade.
Hope this help someone.

I have the Diamond on T-Mobile in the UK with the web'n'walk plan (HSDPA enabled - although not the higher-speed "plus" version). This happens to me every single time I'm in a GPRS-only area - when I have HSDPA coverage, it connects fine. In order to get it to connect, I have to open the Comm Manager, turn off the data connection and re-activate it.
Before anyone asks, my connection settings are all correct and I've tried numerous different main and radio ROMs - nothing makes a difference. I'll give this a shot, see if it makes a difference.

OK, I would try the option Auto for the "Select your network type" so the phone auto negotiates the technology in use (between GPRS or the much better HSDPA), but change the option for the bands according to your country.

I'm not sure if this will work, but have you tried going to Settings\Personal\Phone\Network and then try to Find Network and Set Networks. Once you find your network provider, you can then try Settings\Connections\Connection setup and in Menu, select Update Database.
Has this issue been resolved?
I had this issue when I bought an unlocked phone from the UK. It was on stock 1.19.61.1 WWE , I flashed to "L26_THD V3.55_WWE_Ultimate" and no longer had the problem.
Connection setup
Hi Ya
I did as ClydeB1 advised but I only have Orange to select as an operator ???
If I do flash my phone with "L26_THD V3.55_WWE_Ultimate" can I still get updates from HTC's website?? Or has my phone officially moved to the dark side once I flashed it??
Thansk for the advice guys

[Q] I'm getting MMS stuck on "sending...." with pictures any ideas?

I'm getting MMS stuck on "sending...." with pictures any ideas?
I occasionally send picture messages. but most of the time they get stuck on sending....
some forum posts mention APN on off?
My friend has the same phone and lives with me her MMS were working ok today.
Also i set to auto receive MMS but i got a message with a download button from her. (so i had to manually download it)
What can i do to fix this?
Cheers
I have same issue with Custom Android Rom on my HD2 ... im on o2 and apn etc appear to be fine but stuck stuck stuck!! any help would be great
Had the same problem and tried the same solutions-I checked, double checked, deleted and put apn settings back in but it never made any difference for me. Have found though that if I leave 'Data Network' permanently on I can then both send and recieve mms. If I turn it off and get a mms I get the 'downloading' message but it never actually does when I turn the data back on.
Not much of a solution I admit but it works for me.
its usually your APN settings that cause the MMS to not send. Specifically for my provider (3), there are two APNs that I can set (3services and 3netaccess). I can only send MMS if I set the APN to 3services apparently because this goes through their internal servers first.
If your friend has the same phone and you are both on the same network, check her APN settings and make it the same for you.
MMS only works when data is enabled. Wifi needs to be off.

Glad the APN worked
I am glad that you were able to get your picture messages working again. Sometimes fixing the APN settings can act only as a band-aid for this issue. If the steps at How to fix an Android phone Stuck on Sending or Downloading when picture messaging doesn’t help… then you might need to contact your service provider because it might be something on their end that’s not configured correctly.
Don’t forget that a backup and reset on an Android device can often fix this issue as well.
