Hi,
I m using Opera lMini (4 and 4.1beta), and Gmail App that connect to my Vodaphone France network (wapsfr). The problem is that every time i click on a link (in opera mini for exemple) it connects to the wap again, which means everytime it finished loading a page, it automatically disconnect, therefor needs to reconnect everytime i click a new link.
This is pretty annoying because it takes longer to disconnect and reconnect again than loading the internet pages.
I dont have this kind of problem on PIE or Opera Mobile or any other kind of internet application.
So i supposed it is due to some Jdeb configuration, but how to avoid this connect/disconnect problem then ?
I m using Esmertec Jbed 20070802.2.1 (from Cloudyfa cab's), on WM6 original HTC Rom of my Kaiser / Tytn II
thank you
I'm having a similar problem with Opera Mini 4.1 as well. It would constantly disconnect/connect whenever I would click on a new link, or try to open a new page.. I'm using JRebeiro_EsmertecJbed.CAB.
FYI: I did not have this problem with 4.0.
What's the best Jbed/Midlet Manager to use?
I have this same issue, and it only does it in the Gmail app.
anyone have any fixes for this issue?
I had similar problems when i enabled the gprs auto disconnection after X time in Advanced Configuration Tool. When i disabled this option everything was normal again. Try it
Maybe the setting in opera mini , under tools>setting use socket instead of http.
Changing from HTTP to Socket completely removed that problem for me. Many thanks!

Just upgraded to TuMa 1.3. Problem with Active Sync has been resolved. And theres another problem, cant connect to the internet through active sync (with cradle). Will someone help me with this. Thx alot..
I have the same problem. I have imate Jam with WWE Rom. After I installed mobile operator's settings file on clubimate.com, active sync recognizes the device and show inside but doesnt provide internet to the system?
I have Zone Alarm on Pc but, it was working very well before. I tried it without this firewall and even uninstall-reinstall Active Sync 4.1 but nothing has changed. I even deleted all the settings that this operator's software that I download on club imate does but no change again...
Seems that there will be setting change on magician, not on pc..
Any suggestion?
Let check the connection settings in ActiveSync. (menu File). Set the value of "this computer is connected to" dialog to "The Internet".
I have solved my same problems by this way.
Experienced the same, it was actually a firewall issue.
Resolved mine (Norton Insternet Security) through:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/help/activesync/norton.mspx
For other firewalls or other possible solutions have a look at:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/help/activesync/default.mspx
Cheers,
I tried both solutions above and also format my imate. But it is inconsistent. Sometimes conencts, sometimes does not.

Got a little bit of a bizzarre one, when i install BBC (Blackberry connect) to my kaiser (both BIS and BES) the device will function fine, but as soon as i use the email setup wizard it messes things up.
The email connection wizard is using internet explorer.
After i exit this, my internet explorer get confused and wont work!
I try viewing a web page and it pretends to look, but does nothing. i refresh it says complete but does nothing.
Yet ive installed opera mobile and mini, both work ok, getting a data connection at the same time as the blackberry is not an issue.
But i cant figure for the life of me why this email set up wizard has killed my explorer.
I could uninstall blackberry and start again, but my IT department wont be chuffed if i request my BES password again for the third time in a week!
If anyone knows of a way to make the internet explorer work again that would be great!
same issue
Got the same issue - think it might be an issue with the BBC software itself. I tried to view a company internal website - which I think tried to use the BB web browsing connection + hey preso IE doesnt' work anymore.
Exactly the same symptoms - IE pretends to look for a site but returns nothing. Marvellous - glad to hear Opera works - just downloading it now.
John.
I've got BBC (bis) and internet working fine on my Tytn II.
Do you have a seperate data contract for the internet. I think that the connection that bbc sets up is just for emails.
Mind you I only have a BIS account.
So my Blackberry connection is more or less permanently connected and my emails come through as and when. If I then load IE the phone will attempt to connect to my contract internet data connection (should wi-fi not be available) and surf the web.
This all works ok, check your settings for IE to see what connection its using for surfing.
Cheers
Hi,
I am unable to browse over GPRS on AT&T Tilt (connected to other network in india) but i could use push mail service by consilient.com over the same connection. I tried running "disable proxy" from Programs->Tools->ProxyManager but no luck yet. Any one knows the fix ?
Browser works only when connected via USB to PC and running ActiveSync.
Thanx in advance.
I have a similar issue with IE.
I installed Opera and it works perfectly.
Might be a solution for you as well...
Thanks, Opers works fine, but iam still not able to use Google Maps and other apps that require data connection.
Some update on this problem.
In opera if i change the settings to use HTTP instead of socket, even opera does not work.
Looks like HTTP is not enabled. Any one knows how to enable it?
Update:
Everything works fine after a hard reset.
I had removed the pre midlets etc earlier, would it be safe to uninstall pre midlets ?

If i try to login to either home banking or even e-bay whilst using opera it just shuts down the browser and returns to the programs page within touch flo.
whilst using IE i get the message "cannot be found due to unknown error 0X80072f78"
probably just a setting that needs changing but i cannot find anything or anyone that has the same problem.
Its the same sim as i used in my hermes and my wizard and the problem is solved if i connect via wi-fi.
anyone have a solution?
BTW using duttys v1.8 but had same trouble with 1.5 and 1.6
Hello all,
I just upgraded to Windows Mobile 6.1 on my ATT tilt. I ran Kaiser Tweak to enable the HSDPA, which is working great. I won't be charged by ATT for enabling HSDPA will I?
Anyways, my problem is that when I try to open Pocket IE and browse to a website I walways get a 403 error. I have tried running Disable Proxy.cab and Enable Proxy.cab but it is not working.
Any help is appreciated. Much thanks.
I can't answer your question sorry, but let me point you towards Opera 9.5 browser - much better than pocket IE, imho.
How are you "Connection Settings" set?
Use the HTC Auto Config CAB (install and soft reset)
After it ran go the the MediaNet connection and select:
- User server assigned IP address (under TCPIP and Servers)
- Proxy Settings check "The network connects to the internet" (first box) all others off.
You SHOULD get at least an Edge connection. I don't know how BUT without a SIM card with the "3G" logo I was never able to get a 3G connection but that's a different story.
Edit: Attached the HTC Connection Setup Auto CAB
I tried your method but I still haven't had luck.
I believe it is because I have an iPhone 3G data plan which doesn't have MEdia NET. Is there a work around for this? I only want Pocket IE because Opera Mini cannot download files.

but the guy was suggesting you to get Opera 9.5, not Opera Mini.
Once you start using Opera, you'll forget PIE soon

If you have not figured out the answer to this let me share my experience with this issue.
This is an annoying AT&T issue with your data. In 6.0 IE used to just show a blank screen when it happened, 6.1 now shows the 403 error. This happens for no known reason when the data decides to just crap out. It's very frustrating and happens a few times a week it seems.
If you have soft-reset your phone recently (turned all the way off) you've probably noticed that it's working again. Soft-resets fix this issue, but can be a hassle if you're in the middle of something. Fortunately there is a quicker way that was posted on a similar thread about the same issue.
When you get the 403 error, go into your Com Manager (where you can turn off wifi/data/phone etc...) Turn on Airplane mode, when completed, turn off Airplane mode. This will reset your data enough to fix the 403 error without soft-resetting.
Give this a try next time and see solves the problem.
Edit: Just noticed your post about having the iPhone data. Not sure if this is the issue or not, but if so my solution may not do anything for you.

But for some reason, Opera is too cumbersome when trying to view information. You have to continue to ZOOM it so you can see. Then, also, it will not allow you to view certain data on web pages. I use Skyfire to view websites. I HATE the zooming feature on it as sell, but at least I know it'll pull up all information. Maybe it's Active X or something.
