Torch Mobile Iris Browser 1.0.8 - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

Hey folks, many of you will have heard of the iris browser when it was first announced at first release it was pretty poor, just downloaded the latest test version though and must say im quite impressed the biggest flasw is the lack of a overview zoom like opera mini.
It renders pages fairly quick though using webkit and is worth a spin and prob keeping an eye on over the coming months.

firefox for winmo devices

I am chatting on this #mobile room at mIRC that's all about firefox for winmo and they told me that firefox milestone will be release next week and firefox alpha at the end of february. Hope it's a full browser. We can follow on this at planet.mozilla.org and they're weekly meetings at https://wiki.mozilla.org/Mobile/Notes.
Exciting! I am looking for something much better than the current bloated (looking) Opera and the horrible IE..
Yeah, it's about time firefox enter the winmo world.
here's hoping for a good release that has at least half a brain cell worth of customization. most of these interfaces are made with right handers in mind and I'm left handed.
someone leaked a beta but it crashes like hell

Yeah is not stable yet...
So.. does it exist a stable firefox version for wm6.5?

Not yet. They're working on Fennec, but they're only up to Alpha 3. You can try Fennec Alpha 3, but it's still pretty unstable, and mostly unusable for daily browsing.
They've been working on Mobile Firefox for years, Fenecs just the lastest. I wouldn't hold my breath on its release being anywhere near as good as the other browsers available.
No mobile browser uses Gecko because its too bulky and unsuited to low-memory devices. Firefox on PC has more leaks than a seive, and on a device with about 30mb RAM at any given time, its no surprise that they've always suffered from running out of memory or crashing because a component was removed. It needs to be rewritten, not adapted.
check my name !lol actually im a big fan of Firefox !
isnt fennac only for NOKIA internet tablet now
nevermind i saw it.. alpha 3 now.. btw does it compress data like oepra mini?

new xda forum scrolling very choppy now after forum upgrade

This forum along with a few others running the newer vbulletin now are very choppy when scrolling on my nexus. I see that there are many new active dynamic components, like web 2.0ish, so it seems these bog down the browser more than before. Is this something with the browser not being optimized with this newest format? Or will it be like this forever?
Majority of websites I visit are smooth as can be. But just these new upgrades like xda and howardforums that have been upgraded are really choppy and slow.
bump this up. nobody have any issue with this?

Yep, which is why I reverted back to the old style
exactly, I did the same when browse using N1
it seems new UI heavy with CSS and javascript
same here i changed back but im kind of jealous of my cousin's iPad zipping through like butter and my nexus one lagging behind...
is this something that google can update the browser to acomodate? or is it just the way it is for the webkit browser...?

Dolphin Spy?.

Okay so whats all this i been reading about dolphin browser that spys on the urls the user visits?
Is this true? Or just a rumor or some stupid topic someone decided to open?

Why don't ask this question in the according thread instead of creating a new one?
BTW: I use Opera Mobile and think it's far far better.
1. Versions 7.0 and 7.1 report the URLs that you visit to some server. After much complainnig from users, the programmers fixed this in Version 7.2. I downloaded it yesterday.
2. What is better about Opera Mobile?
Rendering performance, scrolling and zooming speed is the fastest available yet.

Anyone with ICS on their Note try Chrome Beta?

Just curious. Please share your thought.
Quite smooth. Apart from a second of lag when application is just launched. No flash.

Stock ics browser seems to have better performance.
(on chinese release)
chrome beta- nice ui
buttery smooth
but no user-agent option
no flash support
no exit button in menu
One force close otherwise works on the Chinese leak. I like the tabs.
I like Chrome more than the stock browser. The way it zooms subtly when filling in entries, etc. This should have been the stock browser for Android.
installed it. quite good actually. but the adblock software does not work on it. doesn't help if you are on a limited bandwidth subscription from your carrier.
i'll stick with it, otherwise opera mini for those websites that are 'blocked' by my carrier.
It's been an amazing experience and chrome beta works smooth... There is nt much lag also and quite fun...
Lots of feedback!
I am jealous. I didn't tried the first ICS leak. Waiting for standard leak!
I find Chrome Beta to be better than the Chinese stock browser, mostly because it looks good. Speed wise it might be a bit slower though, but not by much. I like how it zooms into some tricky areas where a lot of links are confined into a small space(Page index for example)
Im loving chrome browser. I have no complaints. Dont have to worry about losing bookmarks and such now and its extremely smooth.
