Transfer your numbers to your SIM card and then transfer those numbers from SIM card to your TILT
put sim into nokia open up contacts and highlight a contact click on the options, it should say move to sim or something of that nature.
i got oo much contacts to copy to my sim card so i cant do it that wya

Outlook is the best medium for both.
Download Nokia PC Sync, and set it up to sync with Outlook
Then set ActiveSync to do the same
Bingo, contacts (with multiple numbers, addresses and emails etc) all on the TILT.
I use Outlook to manage my contacts, and unlike Nokia, Mobile Outlook maps ALL the fields that are in Outlook. (Nokia does not map Assistant, Home2 and many more, and also trims Outlllok notes to 256 characters!)

So here's my quandry. My PC crashed with all of my contacts on it. Fortunately, my Kaiser is quite healthy. So I bought a new PC with Vista on it and would like to transfer my contacts from the Kaiser to the PC.
Microsoft, on the other hand, had other ideas. Despite coming with a Contacts program in Vista, Windows Mobile Device Center won't let my sync to it, I must sync to Outlook. I don't like spending hundreds of dollars more for Outlook, because I just bought a new laptop and I'm broke!
I know I can get Windows Live Mail to my hotmail, pocket pc, and vista together, but all of my contacts are stored in pocket outlook, with no way that I know of to import them into Windows Live. I tried using this program:
http://pocketpcfreeware.com/en/index.php?soft=1479
which will extract my contact info into a .CSV file that I can import into hotmail, but hotmail won't identify the file properly (so close!)
Does anybody know a way to get my contacts off my phone without typing them out one by one?

Use the free outlook licence/disk that came with your phone?
Hi everybody,
I'm currently using 2 phones, my X1 and a Nokia 6600i slide. I'm syncing them both with my Windows 7 laptop which has Outlook 2007. I want to keep my agenda and contacts on both of my phones. This is because the Nokia is my work phone and X1 private, but I use them both to for example call private and have work and private appointments in them.
The thing I'm struggling with is the following:
Currently, my X1 has both my Windows Live contacts as well as my Outlook contacts. My Nokia only accepts Outlook contacts.
Therefor I have duplicates of some of my Windows Live contacts as Outlook contacts. I can do that via Outlook on my laptop, that isn't the problem.
The thing that bothers me is that my X1 shows both my Windows Live contacts as well as my Outlook contacts. So a lot of the names exist twice in my contacts list in my X1.
When I remove the Windows Live contacts, I also lose them from my MSN Messenger contact list.
So basically what I want is this:
- I decide for myself which contacts I want as Live only, as Outlook only, or as both. This doesn't need to be automated or anything
(I use Live only for people that I Only have on MSN, Outlook only for people that I don't have on msn like business relations, and both for people that I do have on MSN but also call, like family and friends)
- I want to have my X1 contact list OR show only the Outlook contacts, OR to show them both but in some way recognizes duplicates (on for example the exact same name) and then only show one of them, preferably the Outlook one.
I hope this makes sense to you guys, I tried my best to explain as clear as possible. Main issue is just that I don't want double names in my contact list on my X1.
If anyone knows how to achieve this or any other handy trick, please let me know!!
Thanks

Nobody?
The 'import the sim contacts' option is greyed out. How do i set this up?
All my contacts are saved to my sim.
i know its driving me insane? does any one know how to transfer contacts from HTC HD2 to windows phone 7????
Unfortunately it's not simple. This is how I did it...
I synced my HD2 phone with Outlook, then downloaded the Hotmail Outlook Connector which allowed me to sign into my Windows Live Hotmail account through Outlook then Outlook shows me two accounts - my old ActiveSync Local account and my Windows Live Hotmail account and it's just then a simple case of clicking and dragging from one to the other. The Windows Phone 7 will then just sync the changes automatically from your Windows Live account.
Hope this helps.

Sorry, don't know the answer to that one, have tried looking though. The only way I can see at the moment is to connect it to a router then look through in the router's control panel for the MAC address of devices connected to it and work from there...
Isn't there no easier way importing sim contacts over?
just threw a sim in my desire and moved some contacts to it, I then put into my HD7, went to Settings / Applications / People the Import sim contacts was now usable and imported the contacts.
Not sure What's happening for you guys, the button should only be grey out if
a) Contacts are in the process of being copied
b) there are no contacts on the sim.

you cannot use Microsoft My Phone account to synch (contacts and sms) HD2 and HD7?
Been txting my friend this morning and suddenly I started getting txt from a number not in my phone book. Turns out it was my mate who I had just been texting all morning. I then had a look through my phone book and I have lost loads of numbers!!! quickly checked my hotmail address book online and for all the contacts, their facebook details are there but outlook/hotmail details which include phone numbers have gone!!!!!
Any ideas?
i'm having the same problem. i used the transfer my data app to transfer my contacts from my iphone 4s to my lumia 920. now all my contacts are gone. i can still see the name and numbers of people that i have called or called me. but when i tap on my phone book to see who is in it no one is there. it's asking me to set up an account. i'm really starting to get pissed off with windows phone. maybe i should return my windows phone and give my money to apple. their **** just seems to work with no problem. how the hell can i have windows contacts on my computer but it won't sync to my windows phone without first transferring to outlook? i don't use outlook. i hate outlook. maybe this is why ms is so far behind ios and android. it sucks!!
You havent associated your contacts with your MS Live/Outlook/Hotmail account?

I have the same problem several days ago: the numbers of many persons I intended to call suddenly disappeared, on all of my lumia 920, desktop outlook, and People on web. The losses seemed to happen when I was editing one contact on Outlook. When I just saved the changed contact, it disappeared. Later, I start finding lots of contacts lost. This really bothers me now.
Guys I have the same ****** problem now...DID u guys find a solution for it?Plz help

I switched my sim card from my lumia 520 to new android today. Then,I tried syncing my hotmail on android but there were no contacts.I took my lumia and saw that the contacts were missing in that too...I tried checking the connected accounts:1 hotmail and 2 Google accounts. The hotmail account is showing synced but the Google accounts are still showing 'syncing'.I tried everything but still continues..My suspect was mayb the contacts were being synced to the Google accounts but got interrupted.so the contacts are neither on my phone nor hotmail nor the Google accounts.help me out guys...PLZ...I hav very important contacts and need them
go to https://people.live.com/
and if contacts there, export to CSV file...
go to Google https://www.google.com/contacts/u/0/?cplus=0#contacts and import contacts there...
also if contacts on phone use official Microsoft https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/apps/contacts-message-backup/9nblgggz57gm to export contacts to SD card
Im desperate, i already spent two days to find a way how to import contacts to my lumia 520 with WP8 without using any cloud service like live, hotmail, google, etc. I had a diamond 2 with WM 6.5. I got my screen broken, only what i was able to do - syncing contacts with my computer. Now i have all the contacts in outlook, but i find no way how to import contacts to WP8 with no cloud. Pls. help. If there is a way how to import sms - ill be most happy man on that month
If you have WM 6.5 you can save/export contacts to vCard (*.vcf format) and copy to SD card. Next, you have to install Transfer my data and via this app you can import contacts from SD card.
With this aplication you can too transfer your contacts via bluetooth from your old phone.

I have no access to my old phone anymore. With broken display i have only outlook to be used as a source. Anyway, Transfer My Data app is working with bluetooth, no possibility to access SD card, which is in my case not a solution. Thanks for you effort.

Ok, here is the idea - is it possible to save VCF file to SD card on my laptop and use the laptop as source "mobile phone" via the application? On my laptop i have W7.
Im really getting angry on Microsoft. They always have to screw it up - they are so desperate for our private data.

Export your contacts from Outlook as a CSV. Then you can use Yahoo or Hotmail to import the CSV file. If it has the option to select CSV from Outlook make sure to use that option. It makes a difference if they specify. Whichever account you use you may want to clean your contact list because they will all be mixed in together. What I did was created a second Hotmail account and used that as my WP8 ID and for all of my MS Live account access. Imported my CSV file to that Hotmail account, then setup that Hotmail account on the phone contact list and everything imported in a few minutes. Hope it works for you as well as for me. I really prefer to use ATT address book but it wont work on my unlocked unbraded 520. If you can get ATT address book to work then that is by far an easier way. Login to https://addressbook.att.net/ and setup your account. I'm making the assumption that you have ATT as your provider. Once logged in and setup, import the CSV file there. Then open ATT address book app on your phone. Also set it up as your contact list in settings.
One other possible option: WP can import contacts from the SIM. SIM cards tend to only be able to store a really small number of contacts at once, so it may take several rounds of storing and importing, but it's a think you could try. If your old phone isn't currently usable for this, you could try having it done at a carrier store; they usually have the tools.
By the way, if you're so paranoid about privacy that you don't want MS to even know who is in your contacts list and/or you don't trust their privacy policies, I'm not sure that any modern smartphone is really going to work for you. A completely rooted Android phone with a modified, custom-built ROM, perhaps? All the major smartphone OS vendors use "cloud" synching for things like contacts.
Thanks for help
all of you guys. At the end i spent yesterday 3 hours to manually do that. I export all the contacts and sent them as vcf. Then i received e-mail to my Lumia 520, and one after one - it takes 4 clicks for one contact - added to my contact list. I had like 580 contacts - at least, after few years i delete some of them
Once again - BIG THANKS for your effort!!
Now the second part of the question - as im going to order new digitizer for my loved diamond 2 - how to export/import sms from WM6.5 to WP8 with no cloud?
