Hi hi,
I have Tilt with Dutty's latest ROM & I'm on a network (Vodafone NZ) where video calling is available.
I understand Tilt doesn't have front camera, so am wondering if the back camera can be used to send video ?
There's an option in 'Menu'->'Video Call options'->'Flip the 2nd Camera Video' , and I had this checked, but it still won't allow me to use the back camera. Is it the correct option to use the back camera? any registry tweak required?
Any helps/suggestions are appreciated
Thanks in advance
I dont believe it is possible

He is in New Zealand where it is supported. I remember reading that it can be done on a Tilt somewhere but I can't recall where. I could be mistaken but I will try and remember.

Anyone got video calling working yet?
I have the GPRS/3G setup but I get 'failed video call' every time I try.

Suggests that
1) Your 3G settings arent correct
2) Your not recieving a 3G signal
3) The Recipicant doesnt have a 3G phone

I've tried yesterday - in fact it was super-international video call (from my UK mobile to Polish mobile while roaming in Greece . Worked with no problems at all. My suggestion would be to check if you have video call activated on your SIM card.
Ah - did not realise you needed it activated on the SIM - thought it just used the 3G connection...

no problem with vdo calls
i have no problem with the 3G vdo calls at all. must be your setting.
How do you tell if your SIM card has video calling activated?
I'd love to try it out when the 8925 arrives.
Thanks!

Pardon me for a noob question ...
is that feature an extra fee addon service from the phone company ??
Must have been the 3G availability in the area - worked first time in the pub last night

Depends on particular operator, but I don't expect anyone is charging extra for that. At least not in UK.
I'm using Nadavi's Dialer. Cannot start a video call, I am displaying H on my Kaiser which is faster than 3g. I logged into my AT&T account online and added the Video Share for 5.99 a month. What am I doing wrong? I tried it with another AT&T person who had the same 5.99 feature on his account and was in a 3g network. When I try it, it says failed what do you want to do. Make regular call, sms, mms, yadadadaa. PM me if you know the answer thanks otherwise just post a reply please thanks
Nadavi's dialer is not able to make video calls - you need the HTC dialer.
The Tilt is not capable of video share. Most of the Samsung and some LG phones have video share.

Oh yes it does. This is the one I am using:

Ok on Nadavis phone dialer theres a button for video call and also if you hit menu you get Video Call Options. Pretty sure it's built in to the dialer
Hey Every1,
While surfing the web lets say on a HSDPA connection if someone tries to call me they are automatically sent to my voicemail. I then get a text some time later saying I missed their call. The only way to solve this is to not use the internet and then disconnect the data session by clicking the h in the top bar.
Ive been searching through the forum and on the web in general and have seen this problem mentioned in regards to vodaphone but not t-mobile. In fact with t-mobile I have read that it should/does cancel the data session automatically to allow for the call or drop down to 3g so that call can be taken.
1) has anyone else experienced this problem?
2) if so is there a soloution? The only one I can think of is to disable hsdpa in the registry or set connections to cancel data connections after a small period of inactivity.
This is kind of frustrating when ure trying to find a friend and using google maps and he/she cant call get hold of u cos it keeps going to voicemail!!
Any help/other users on t-mopbie uk commenting on whether they suffer from this problem would be appreciated.
Im running standard tmobile radio (1.27.12.32)
Thanks
I'm using the 1.27.12.17 radio, and can make and receive calls when on an HSDPA connection. I'm on T-Mobile, too. Possibly change the radio and see if that makes a difference?
I get the same problem when using data on the HSDPA connection. When using 3G, the call will go through.
According to this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=321596 it is likely to be a network problem. Is it worth asking T-Mobile about this? Are people on other networks having this issue too?

Is that radio a standard t-mobile one or did u flash that ureself? Thanks
Did a bit of diagnosis and further reading on other info from other sites.
It appears I am not alone, and unfortunatly the information is varied some saying its networ and other the phone.
Its not just HSDPA but 3G to, if ure doing some data donwnloading it wont allow u take a call. The only way to have data and the ability to recieve calls at the same time is using standard gprs, which kind of defeats the purpose of having this phone in the first place. Here are some things i tried.
1) HSDPA ON - tried looking at some pages and whilst i was downloadin called from my other mobile to my kaiser, no luck took a while then went to voicemail. Once it finished downloading and it was inactive (but ie still up) it dropped down to 3g and accepted incoming calls. Also i tried to make a call while surfing and it worked fine. When i then rang from a 3rd phone whilst on the call i made it recieved it in hsdpa mode no probs (call waiting).
2) HSDPA OFF - Same as above to be honest not even worth dropping down as u cant even tell if it will accept calls as it just says on 3g rather than dropping down.
3) UMTS OFF - Works fine recieves data and make and recieves calls.
This is really annloying as it defeats the purpose of having this phone. Im quite happy to not surf and talk at the same time but i dont want to miss important calls. Id really like to know if any1 else is experiencing this problem and what they did about it, whether it is indeed network specific or a problem with me/all kaisers.
This also means u really cant have skype and or msn signed in all the time as it wont auto disconnect when a call comes in.
Thanks

oh one last thing, when u flashed the radio rom did put a different software rom on it e.g. from t-mobile to htc original? As u had a radio file did u bother to sim unlock...how did it go...
Sounds like i might just flash the radio rom to see if it cures the problem and might aswell sim unlock it at the same time. Just curious to know ure experiences

Someone on T-Mobile please comment.....
Hi,
I'm on T-mobile UK, I'm on the standard WnW so dont have the HSDPA, but I did have the same problem on 3G, couldnt take calls while surfing.
It was bugging me as hell. After some research (out here and on some other forums) I tried the bandswitch app to change the band to GSM (it was on 'auto') and it worked. After a couple of days, I uninstalled bandswitch and reverted to 'auto' again and everything worked fine. I havent had problems and its been over a month now.
Regarding sim unlocking and CID unlocking, I've done that recently. I was on radio version - 1.27.12.11 and am now on 1.27.12.32
just waiting for a good stable 6.1 rom and will flash then.
hope this helps.
cheers
Thanks Koowdewil im gonna give that a try
Do u know where i can find the bandswitch app that you used???

I emailed T-Mobile about this and here is there response:
Dear .....
I am afraid this is normal for this device. When you are browsing the web and the page has already loaded then the call will come through as normal. However if the device is still in the process of downloading the site then the call will go to voicemail. I am afraid there is no way round this issue as this is the way it has been designed by the manufacturers. Please contact us if you have any further queries. Thanks.
Regards
Stephen
T-Mobile
Yes, you could try there or just google it, danielherrero is the developer. I've heard about t-mobiles response but after switching the mode to 'gsm' for some time and then reverting back to 'auto' I havent had the problem.
Thanks so much gonna give this a try
I'm on T-Mobile UK and have flashed Duttys new 6.1 ROM and am experiencing this same issue. any ideas which is the best 6.1 compatible Radio for T-Mobile Uk?
Funnily enough I have started badgering T-mo UK about the 6.1 update already and they have started using there normal excuse of doing heavy beta testing compared to other CPs.
Typically ignoring them I am awaiting a response from my contact on the inside about the 6.1 update release....
With regards to the Call/HSDPA/3G issue I cannot say I have experienced this however 90% of the time mine is fixed to GSM lol
I've got a 3 PAYG sim and TM contract. Just tried this with 3 and call came in when streaming with realplayer and loading internet page no problem.
Same with test with TM too.
Using Duttys 6.1 with 1.64.08.21 radio.
Im on T-mobile UK with webnwalk and having no problems with this, I used a tweak to enable hsdpa/3g on continues so its always ON...
I can still recieve calls while using the inet at the same time.
Hi everybody, I am using GPRS and facing the same issue; No incoming call while GPRS is on... so any idea ?
regards

Captivate doesn't have front cam.. So, video calls would not work!!!!
i have a samsung impression that doesnt have a face front camera but has the video call...so the front facing camera shouldnt be an issue...i dont see why it couldnt be directed to the other camera instead of the front facing one....I have faith in the great minds that are on here....
true but weird

Quick GPS is a program designed to download to your device the positions of satellites so your GPS programs will be able to get faster locks. That's all it does is download satellite information.
There is no YouTube tab.
Video calls only work if your carrier supports it. If you live anywhere other than Europe, then video calls will not work.

Video calling does work. It only works if your carrier supports the feature. It is not dependent on the ROM.

Ok, you don't seem to understand my explanations, so I'm going to spell it out clearly.
US carriers do not support video calling on the Touch Pro2. It is supported in Europe based on the carrier there. That's why only the European models have a front facing camera.

I'm not trying to be rude to you or anything, but you are not getting this. US carriers do not support video calling on this device. Video calling is supported on some Android devices and the iPhone. That's it. There is no carrier outside of Europe that will allow you to video chat on a Rhodium. US carriers enable the option on a phone by phone basis. Considering the plethora of new devices coming out, and the fact that most carriers have discontinued support, or in process of discontinuing support for the Touch Pro2, it is highly unlikely that they will ever enable this feature. The devices shipped here without the front-facing camera or official software to allow video calling. To get video calling to work, they would not only have to enable support for this device, but also issue official software updates to allow for the video calls to be enabled on the dialer. As it is now, the only way to even have that option is to use a custom ROM, but it won't work unless the carrier allows it, which none of them will ever do for this device.
The point is that if video calling is important to you, then you should think about moving to a different device. T-Mobile has a bunch of nice new phones that are out right now which feature video calling. The Rhodium will never have support for video calling in the US.
Hi guys,
Unfortunately, the area i live in has incredibly bad signal for all networks and back with my HTC sensation i used to have a orange signal boost app which enabled me to use something called UNA to make and receive calls through my home WiFi.
Since moving to my lovely new One, I dont have this option. I havent even bothered to get on the phone to Orange as they prove to be useless every time.
After doing a bit of research and playing with my phone, I found out about the Internet Calls within settings but it needs account settings.
Like with the 3g settings, are there some generic orange settings someone would be able to tell me that will enable me to use this feature?
Any help would be greatly received!
Thanks,

The Internet Call feature is for those with accounts with the likes of sipgate. You can make free calls to other SIP numbers but will need to buy credit when dialing normal numbers.

Do you happen to know if the tmobile wifi calling apk is anywhere available. I've had a search and cant seem to find it. I ask as that seems to be available on the one and TMobile kinda the same as Orange as both owned by EE and I just thought id try a punt at the app also working on orange.

A quick Google search threw up lots of possible links.

Yeah that's the one, but sorry, i should have been a bit more specific, I meant the apk off a one as it seems to be shipped with the one tmobile branded versions so I figured I would have the best chance with that version.
I'm bumping this thread to see if there are any solutions for this a few months on. I also live in a poor area for reception with Orange / EE, but I do have a decent net connection and WiFi. To make matters worse, I get an equally poor signal at work and constantly have to move my phone around to pick up texts.
The EE website has the following information for those unfamiliar, but the feature isn't currently supported in any ROMs I have tried:
http://help.ee.co.uk/system/selfser...RTICLE&ARTICLE_ID=1187596&CUSTOM_BRAND=Orange
Despite this sounding like a fantastic feature, I can barely find any information on the forums or through Google.
