Hi all,
The proxy server is used in wireless system at my work. I enabled proxy server configuration in communication manager and i can connect web sites with internet explorer.
My question is, while i am unable to connect windows live messenger, there're also no proxy configuration on it. Are tehere any way to use messenger through proxy server ?
Or, i guess Windows Live for Windows Mobile is brand application came with WM6.0. Do you know may i use old messenger versions via proxy? Or do you know any other msn client with proxy support ?
Thanks in advance for your help.

I couldnt find any place to enter a proxy address in messenger. Could you please tell me where can i enter the proxy?
hey, I connect through a proxy for all my internet (using tmobile usa), and I was never able to figure out how to use windows live via proxy. however to download my hotmail emails I finally found a work around. you have to upgrade ur hotmail account to hotmail plus (20 dollars/year). now u have access to pop settings and set up a new email account using those settings (not through windows live) good luck
omar
I do not care mails, i even dont use hotmail for mailing.
i need to instant messaging to keep talking with my girlfriend.
You can't use a proxy server to access WLM Service from your Pocket PC. It simply doesn't support this.
The way that the client communicates with the Messenger service greatly differs when using a proxy, and support for this is not available in the mobile client. You NEED to create a direct connection, which thus prevents you from connecting in networks where using a proxy server (HTTP or SOCKS) is mandatory.
My mobile connected to Wifi but I couldnot surf WEB cause I didn't know how to setting up
my working Proxy via port 8080.
Help me!
Same problem here, but a little diferent.
I connect to the proxy server in my office network trough wireless access point, and then it asks me for the user credentials. I put in the credentials (i have an unrestricted account, i'm one of the administrators) but then it keeps asking me for them as if i had used wrong credentials! Are there any configuration on the proxy server to accept WM6.1 connections?
Thank's!
I have set up my home computer to accept incoming connections and can VPN in but then I can't get Resco File Explorer to open or view any files on my home computers. I've used the computer names and I've used IP addresses to map the drives but neither way works for me. My questions:
Does anyone successfully VPN to their home network? If so, what do you use it for?
i have succesfully vpn to my network at work and i use it to browse the files on the school computer. and i dont use resco file explorer. i use the htc network plugin (or watever its called) and map the drives
Is there any way to set a proxy address to Wi-Fi connection?
Or is there a way to add proxy ro IE/Opera/Youtube?
My School WiFi required a proxy to access the net.
Help will be appreciated.
Start Menu->Settings->Connections->Connections
Under "My Work Network", clic on "Set up my proxy server" and then... setup your proxy ^_^.

Yes this is also what I had thought. I have to set up a proxy in addition to the SecureW2 software client that I have to configure in order to connect to my University's Wi-Fi. I can set up SecureW2 fine, it will connect to the network, but I'm unable to set up the proxy properly.
Already tried the method still can't access internet.
Called HTC Tec support just now, they say you can only add proxy for gprs but not WiFi.
Any mod to add proxy to WiFi?
bump.......
This is very important, can anyone help?
Wifi Profiles Tool
Just try WifiProfiles from RStein - very convenient
Hi,
My Provider gave me an offer to use gprs/3g unlimited browsing through opera but no outlook e-mail, using a specific proxy server which limits file downloading to 1MB, gives free web access but stops POP/IMAP traffic completely.
Is there any way to make outlook *automatically* use the standard gprs/3g settings and proxy server in order to receive/send e-mails (and of course pay for that traffic) and at the same time Opera *automatically* use the unlimited data settings (and of course not pay for that traffic)?
Activesync is all webdav over https - whether or not the proxy is configured to allow it through is another thing.
If you go into connections, and specify the proxy, activesync should try and use it (I tested on mine with an invalid proxy address, and activesync failed to work, so it should work in theory)

Thanks, but I don't use activesync (if you mean sync with my PC).
I download mail through the air (3g or gprs). I don't have an internet connection at home (don't blame me for that, plz), and at work I am not allowed to install activesync...
hey guys,
I'm currently using a galaxy note and i was wondering if there's any way to disable my internet but to keep me connected to the local network when I'm using a wifi connection? thanks in advance.
use a firewall service like droidwall from the playstore. and apply the rules with whitelist with none checked. You need to be rooted.. or you can modify your router settings and give the phone a static ip and then from access restrictions disable http, https pop etc access to that IP
thanks alot, droidwall works just fine :good::laugh:
