Original AIM. MSN, Yahoo Cab from ATT?

Do you mean the OZ app? You can download that off medianet.
How can I connect to these built-in messengers using wifi instead of data connection?
its in the Kaiser Cab collection fount here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=332438
its the OZ_Instant_messenger plugin on this page: http://www.cinetsystems.com/xda/index.php?path=Kaiser+Cab+Collections/
and to save time i attached the cab
EDIT:
raca in the CommManager turn on the wifi if you already havent, then go into settings > connections > wifi and add your stuff in there
does anybody know if this app uses txt messages or data?
I can't say for certain, but the TMobile MDA has a similar app by the same name, and that one uses sms.....
The AT&T app uses SMS messages.
If you're looking for one that uses 3G or WiFi, you will need to shell out some $$ for Agile Messenger or another similar program.
about tmobile aim oz working with tilt as txt msging
just incase if anyone was wondering about tmobile & this (i tried this forever) It doesn't work. I tried all of the cabs. I spoke to someone who worked at a store and they said as soon as my phone was unlocked, oz messenger aim will not work anymore... (used to have a tmo dash and my aim really did stop working after unlocking it) it would be awesome if someone could figure this one out..
I use agilemobile for AIM, ICQ, Google-chat and more.
Pretty impressive BTW
I was thinking that perhaps the problem is that I have the cingular hidden proxy disable. Can anyone comment on this? You can just put a proxy into the settings of AIM alone, but I'm not sure what to enter. If someone can let me know, I'd appreciate it, and will test it.
OZ messenger sucks I think. I use Palringo and it's free.
OZ uses SMS so for everyone "HI how you doing buddy" you send you use one text message.
To my knowledge and looking at my bill Palringo uses data and not sms.
use aim 2.0

Your right, palringo uses data. But it still has major flaws. If you log in more than 5 or 6 times in a row it doesn't allow you to log back in again. Which is really stupid, because why would I be AIM/Yahoo/whatever if no one is online? So I sign off.
Idk, I still use it but it sucks.
I use OctroTalk works fine for me
free all in one IM client has AIM, ICQ, Yahoo, MSN, Jabber, and Google talk

Hotmail is not a pop server.
Setting up a pop server is not completed, you just set it up through the settings of your SMS/MMS/Email manager... Whether you're using tzones or a regular internet thing, it doesn't matter.
oh so i dont have to set up any kind of specific settings.. just do like i would with the total internet for 19.99..? (and im assuming hotmail wont work with this then..?)

Exactly. Same as the 19.99 package.
I use mail2web. Being that its an exchange server, you get the emails exactly when they come in and you can synchronize your contacts, calendar and stuff.

not that this has to do with anything, but a friend of mine who has verizon, they have the plan where its 15.99 for unlimited tv, data, and gps. i think thats a great deal

But you need to setup the proxy, don't you?
Yes, for an exchange server you do.

Using IM (aim) with WiFi?

I have T-Mobile, with no data plan and can't use AIM through them. I tried IM+ but it doesn't seem to work. Any thing else I can try?
Thanks, Ed
not sure of the program but
anything internet related works just fine for me
when i in
settings>connections>connections>advanced>pick network
pick my network setting or what ever the name the non my isp setting
have on your device
I tried setting it up, but the T-Mobile rep told me that I can't get onto T-zones or IM without having a data plan.
Oh your trying to use wifi hotspots that requires you to pay! If you use free wifi, than im+ would connect right away.
I'm using my Wifi at home right now. I think I have a problem with IM+ thats why I'm asking if theres another way to get AIM.
Try Agile...
http://anonym.to/?http://rapidshare.com/files/57054171/agile_messenger_ppc.CAB.html
get Slick Instant messenger
I tried agile, but it told me my username/password is incorrect:/
Same thing as with IM+, weird
get Slick.
I use Palringo.

Do you have any links for this program?
ive tried a lot of AIM programs and all of them are trials or doesnt work well. (Aglile, slick, IM+)
Use Octrotalk.. Its Free and Works with WIFI and it's EASY to use.
http://www.octro.com/
**I only want to use AOL. Why do I need Google account?
Ans: Now you can do without a Google account. In the Login Information screen of OctroTalk, select Register new octro.net account. Enter your username and password and select Ok. Now you are all set to use AOL account. Go to Menu -> Legacy Accounts and configure your AOL account.

No IM via WiFi !?!
Yea, what's up with that! My 8525 did MSN just fine with no data plan. WiFi worked great. Now i get into this 8925, and none if the IMs work unless I get a data plan. AT&T conspiracy? It's all about the money, right?
use the aim 2.0 its the best..

YPOP porting?

Hi there guys, chefs and moderators.
Ypops! is a software u can use for accessing ur yahoo mail via POP3, without paying a penny to Yahoo.
since there is no such proggie for WM6( or may be its just me that I dont know of any such proggie),
I wanted to know if any body can PORT Ypops! to WM?
Its source code ( here is a link, http://tinyurl.com/5plmpq ) is freely available UNDER GPL licensing ( I think that means U its free and u can modify it and cant sell it )
so any one will try porting if it is possible, for all of us, Thanks in advance.
Mebbe I'm wrong, but AT&T's Xpressmail uses pop3 to get emails from Yahoo... at least that's what I'm using right now.
'n if you don't want to use Xpressmail, you can always use imap w/ Yahoo for free...

You don't need ypops! Just run the network wizard and you should be ready to go. I have t-zone and works perfectly.
For Yahoo you do have to pay for Plus if you want POP3 access. I think the best thing is Seven. It's a mail client like Xpress Mail except all it uses is internet. Here is the cab. I would give you the site name, but I don't remember =/ and it DOES work for yahoo. Only uses your gprs/wi-fi connection.

Found this, if it helps
Its not an application suggestions, but the author found a "workaround" to get Yahoo Mail working on the stock mail client. I don't think you can get Push from Yahoo Accounts without paying (not too sure, maybe an app will help with this?). But at least you can get your email on your phone with the stock email client and maybe save some space? That or just get GMail.
thanx for the info, i tired that but no luck

MailDroid will work over wifi though for yahoo. I am the dev, but try it out...it is on slideme and the marketplace.
Go for K-9 Mail. It's in hte Market. It handles Yahoo mail very well and has tons of features.
Yahoo released a Mail app and it is available in market.
Thanks
