I was updating my wizard and at 57% it stopped and i was waiting for an hour and nothing changed so i unpluged the usb. Now there is only RGB screen and when i connect to my computer active sync doesnot detects my pda. Please Help! Its G4 device and i dont know whethere is it CID locked or not.
G4 phones cannot be CID unlocked,Which rom were you trying to flash ?
It can be upgraded to wm6 through SoftSPL or HardSPL,read about it in the G4 forum posted as Stickies.
Download the official rom or the wizard_love rom to recover back.

After some tries, I succeeded to upgrade rom, but after this power on the wizard and it stuck into startup screen.
If I press Camera + Power swich it shows three colour screen and some text :
IPL 2.16. 0001
SPL 2.16 0001
I think my device was CID locked and G4, and that is why I have a dead wizard.
I have backed up the phone before upgrading with wizBackup.exe and I have back files on my hard disk. I dont know how to restore rom from these backup files. :?: :?: :?:
Please help me to revive my PC.

Your phone is not dead!!!
If you can get to the three color sceen then your botloader is intact (and preserving the bootloader was the point with the tutorial that you followed).
Your phone is CID locked and is G4, that's right, but this is NOT the reason for the problem. The tutorial you followed, which incidentally I wrote, deals with CID locked G4 phone like yours.
The problem you had is probably due to a not correctly cooked rom.
Anyway, don't worry. You got the three colors screen so you can connect your phone to USB (even if activesync won't recognise it) and flash your factory rom (the one you were trying to replace). Don't need to use your backup: simply download the original rom from the manufacturer/operator site.

After many tries now my phone is working again,
I downloaded RUU_Prodigy_2170702_21707102_20710_QTEK_WWE_Ship from internet then cooked its nk.nbf file.
then uploaded the rom and phone is working again. Thanks for your help

hello. I have similar problem. I upgraded my wizard to AKU2.3 and now phone doesn't start. It start showing splash screen with the information:

I flashed my 8125 which i thought was a g3, but clearly as it hung at 99% of the flash It is a g4 that has been flashed with a g3rom..... now I has read about some users reflashing their phones... how do i do that since i can no longer establish an activesync connection? i power up the device... shows the color coded screen (ipl 2.24 spl 2.25) there is a USB text in the grey bottom section, but windows, and different flashing exe's don't respond to me plugging/unplugging the device. Please help

I think you have to hold both the voice messaging button as well as the camera button to get into the bootloader.
In your first post you were already in the bootloader -- "color coded screen" as you put it. First thing. Take the battery out before you discharge it too much to continue. It cannot charge in the state you are in and will discharge very quickly until useless.

if you see the USB in the corner of your bootloader screen you should be able to flash a G4 compatible rom back into your phone from there.
Just boot the phone so that you can see that screen and then start the install process on your computer. You will need a ROM that doesn't include the bootloader. So make sure it is a G4 compatible ROM.
I by no means am an expert but I was recently in a similar situation with my G3 (flashed a 2.xx rom that didn't include a bootloader with a 1.xx bootloader)
and this is what I had to do because I couldn't connect to Activesync, or communicate with Windows in any way with that messed up flash.
I'd try flashing the latest stock 8125 ROM from here: http://www.htcamerica.net/support/docs/RUU_Wizard_225111_22511102_022511_CWS_WWE_Ship.exe

okay... i was confused about just what the bootloader was... and i was in the bootloader... thanks for the help several attempts at detecting the device didn't work... i tried with summiters Cingular_Custom_AKU2.3_Combo_Installer_V1.exe and it finally detected it... which i guess means i have a g3... anyway all is working now, thanks for the help
Hi, I also had problems with USB after 3.2 rom update. I always get a USB not recognized and I can't flash with any exe ROM. Even in bootloader it was not recognized. Did you have the same problems with the phone?
I was upgrading my t-mobile 8150(?) the k-jam with the new windows mobile 6 and in the middle of it my comp crashed!! now i am stuck at the bootloader mode (3 colored screen) and when i try to redo it i get to 99% and get a 302 error message. i follow the instructions given but keeps going in circles. its a G3 so is my phone bricked or is there a way to save it? i've been looking at this site all day but am now just more confused. lol thanks for your help!
No your phone isn't bricked. As long as you can get into the bootloader screen you should be ok. What you need to do is flash an official carrier rom either tmobile 2.26 or wizard love rom after you that than you can reflash to wm6. look at the stickies in the wizard forums that is where you can find these roms.
Thanks for the info but seems my techno curse continues. I tried the wizard love rom but it was in a different language and whem i tried the tmobile 2.26 i got "error 274 connection." Any more suggestions? Again thanks soo much for an issue I'm sure has been posted here a thouand times.
This happens to me all the time. I always use the Cingular 2.25 rom, it works perfectly and I have an I-mate K-JAM. Then, do the WM6 upgrade, but ensure all of your Norton and Antivirus and background running apps are shut down. Good luck.
yes also take out your mini sd card if you have one. even though its in another language it will work. "AVANTI means next. so just keep hitting that and you will be fine.

flash to the tmo 2.26 or cingular 2.25...that will give you an IPL/SPL of 2.xx
then, you can flash to WM6

keep reflashing buttons rom until both ipl/spl are the same number. if they are different, then the flash didn't complete correctly. (it happens often, so it's kinda normal). just keep reflashing. after both ipl/spl are the same, then CID unlock and then update to an official carrier...then flash a wm6.

it does shows but how can i flash?? it still won't connect o my pc. my pc doesn't recognize it. but it does recognize my wifes phone.

I wanted to flash my G4 Wizard (IPL/SPL 3.08) to the last official ROM of T-Mobile Germany (AKU 3.3)
The flash process got stucked at 99% for hours and now my phone only boots to the three-colored bootloader.
No problem I thought, flash again. I plugged the cable and I saw "USB" on the display (there never is "serial" on the display, if this is for interest)
But now: no flashtool would find the phone.
Sometimes when it's found (seldom), it says that's not the right utility. I tried a RUU..._noID.exe I found here but this only got "no Connection"
I tried flashing from Vista, XP and 2000 SP4.
Please help me.
Did you do the HardSPL? If you did, when you tried to put the official ROM from T-Mobile, it tried to put the IPL/SPL from G3 on your phone, since the HardSPL makes your phone a fake G3 (something like that). You have to remove the IPL/SPL info from the official ROM's otherwise you get stuck.
There's hope tho, since you can get to bootloader. You can try the miniSD flashing method, meaning, there's no connection to the computer

Hi,
I Tried to update my mda vario with a new rom. During the update my laptop, which I used to update the rom, crashed. The firmware update was at 96%.
When I rebooted my mda, I saw only a rgb screen. I searched the xda forum and saw that it wasn't a big problem. I only had to start the update proces again.
From that moment the real problems started. When I tried to update again, the phone rebooted several times during the update and the RUU gave several errors, every time another error code. I saw the error codes 300, 302, 264,274,262.
Every time I removed the battery and waited several minutes. At one point I had the battery removed for 8 hours. But every time I try to update the phone reboots during the update process (I see the percentage bar in the screen of the mda)
I tried several roms now, the roms i have tried are:
Wizard_Love_2.26.10.2_WWE_Novii_CF2
RUU_Prodigy_2210205_22102108_021911_TMO_NL_DUT_Ship.exe
MDA_Vario_1060202_103_11210_TMNL_Ship.exe
None of the roms succeedes to install.
Because, I am trying to update for 2 days now, I thought maybe my battery status is lower than 50%, so I wanted to load the battery to a 100%. When I connect my power adapter to the phone, the charging led will turn on, but the phone starts up (shows the RGB screen) and the charging leds turn off. So it seems I can't charge the battery either.
HELP!!!

You didn't claim your IPL and SPL version, however it is almost confirmed that you didn't read the stickies here carefully. You need to CID-Unlock (G3) or HardSPL (G4) your device before flashing any ROMs!
For now, get your MDA Vario stock ROM and flash it, then you can get a working OS back. Then refer to the stickies.

And with your answer it is confirmed that you didn't read my post well.
But the problem is solved, i found a similar phone and could charge my battery, and I updated the phone with the stock version.
