'Type' alert sound anyone? - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

Hi folks, I've just flashed my new Kaiser with Dutty's WM6.1 hybrid rom. Very happy with it except one thing, I was very fond of the alert sound 'Type' on my Hermes as an incoming SMS alert. The version on my new Kaiser sounds nothing like the old version.
Can anyone help & email the old sound file over to me so I can get it back?
Thanks in advance.

Nobody has this??

Start, Settings, click Sounds & Notifications. Should be self explanitory from there........Nice........

^ i am pretty sure he knows how to go to his sounds. the problem is his current sound on the device is not what he wanted and was asking if anyone has the proper sound he wanted.
i suggest you go to the hermes section and ask someone there for the sound so they can send to you. maybe it's a sound specific to the hermes one?

Kaiser/TYTN 2/P4550 Vibrate SMS Problem

From another thread. This is the biggest problem with the phone.
1- I installed the WM6 threaded text (i have to have that) so now sometimes when i get texts, it vibrates and makes the sound i chose. even though vibrate is off in the notifications. EVEN if the phone is set to silent i still get a vibrate on the incoming text.
here is what else we found
"From all the searching i have done on various boards with this threaded SMS app it appears this is a well known bug. If you reset the audio profile it does not buzz until you slide the keyboard out at least once during a session, then it vibrates from then on. If anyone comes across a bug fix or a "most recent" version that does not suffer this for Kaiser TYTN II than I would be pleased to know." dakotadave
Please help. I am waiting on Cody from one of the other forums, who actually created the SMS threaded app.
this seems to be only a wm6 thing since the same app didn't do it on wm5 devices. it seems to happen on all wm6 devices so far.
what I have don't that I think has stoped it is I have my "sliding sound" disabled. I don't know if this is a forsure fix or not, but I don't remember getting the vibe for a long time now.
give it a try. maybe it is the fix. maybe it will just stop some of them.
I don't know.

I do have the sliding sound disabled. I also have the unit on silent and still get it.
I did this
http://discussion.wmexperts.com/showthread.php?t=139379
to get threaded sms
but i did NOT go past #11. There was no file on the phone named palm messaging.
But i did delete "poutlook"
that thread is NOT FOR WM6 DEVICES. that was for pre aku 2.3 devices like the treo 700 w/wx. I posted a new thread on that same site saying that. the WM6 devices have a one step cab install. there is no need to remove poutlook from the startup folder cause it is not there.

How to switch off Start menu tones?

Hi guys,
I'm a new kaiser owner (new to windows mobile as well) I have had a lot of fun customizing my phone over the past few days, but I have run into a problem which I can't find a solution for, despite trawling the forums. I want to turn off any sounds or tones for the start menu, but I can't find a way of doing this without removing my notification tones at the same time. I'm sure this is just something very obvious I'm missing, but for the life of me I can't work it out.
Regards
Rich

Sorry, scratch that! I think I've sorted it. I switched off Events (warnings, system events) from the sounds and notifications settings. This seems to sort it, but am I losing sound to anything else by doing this?
that's just the wm5 sound scheme you got there
try the wm6 scheme from the link to get rid of the sounds

Microsoft Voice Command V1.6.19971

I noticed that in the Diamond forum Dutty has embedded MSVC 1.6.19971 into his ROM.
Any ideas where I can find the installation CAB for this?

I'm using MSVC_US_PPC_1.6.19214 which is working fine. You can find this in one of the threads in Kaiser but I believe it was taken down for an unknown reason (the thread still exists but the first 5 message and topic title was deleted). The title was something like "The Definitive Guide to MSVC". You can still get it in google cache though

We removed the MSVC cab because it is a retail sold program, YES it was put into some official ROMs but after a LONG debate we decided to not allow it in cooked ROMs etc... just such a grey area we didnt want M$ finding another reason to have a go at xda-devs.
i had a feeling it will be taken out eventually, curiously though i was thinking why the guy was banned

Have you read post #3? MSVC is a retail sold program, if you want it please buy it.
Hey guys, on my fuze with the at&t rom, MSVC was included, now that i've upgraded to romeos rom and it's not included on his rom! i know that you guys are saying its a pay program, but i paid for it when i bought the fuze (as its included in the price).... and i really dont wanna pay for it again...
Does MSVC integrate and work with the fuze over bluetooth? I know that it needed several mods to work with both the 8525 and the Tilt.
Thanks
it worked perfectly with the at&t rom without any mods at all. and actually after i posted, i realized that i still had the copy that i had download from this site for my tilt. i installed it and it works perfectly once again

Does it announce incoming calls over the bluetooth headset? I can't get it to do that. My Tilt did it just fine and I have the Fuze VC set up exactly the same way as my Tilt, but all I get is my ringtone and no announcement.
Any ideas?

I'm sure this is a dumb question but did you double-check the settings? (Start -> Settings -> Personal -> Voice Command -> [Highlight Phone] -> Options -> Announce Incoming calls) and (Start -> Settings -> Personal -> Voice Command -> Notifications Button)

Yes. I wish it were that easy. As I said, all parameters are set up exactly like my Tilt which worked perfectly. With the Fuze, I only get my ringtone. Now, I know that the Fuze has a newer version of VC, so I may try to downgrade to the version that is on my Tilt.

I'm wondering the same thing. Stock Fuze had MSVC, and I flashed to the Elite ROM, and would like MSVC back. Is there any way to flash my Fuze back to stock rom, and pull the cab file out of it??
Unless you can tell me otherwise, the one that comes with the FUZE is defective. Partly... A few of us can't get it to say the incoming caller name or number. All you hear is a bell sound. I've gotten everything else to work like dialing from the headset, even where it says I have an appointment on my BT headset. Just for the announcement of whos calling doesnt work.
Do you have to have the handsset connect to juse VOice C`?
I pulled VC 1.6.19971 out of the AT&T Fuze ROM and included it in my personal ROM and I was able to enable "Announce incoming calls".
On my Nokia BH-501 headset, it begins to announce the call, but gets cut off by the built in headset ringtone. (I only use this stereo headset for music)
On my Oakley Razrwire it works just fine. With 'announce' turned off, the headset uses it's normal built-in ringtone. With 'announce' turned on, I get the VM announcement with my WM ringtone playing in the background (it opens an audio stream from the phone). I use this headset while driving, so it's all good.
Well well... depends on your MSVC-version. 1.6.4622 DOES NOT announce any incoming call regardless of the setting.
1.6.17913 does, 19209, 19213, 19214 does...
By the way: the ultimate FAQ was named The Definitive Guide for Microsoft Voice Command - I posted a backup in another thread.
anyhow, does anyone know the advantages of 1.6.19971 ? Does it report anonymous callers correctly (which none of the above does?)
And why is it that anyone wants to use newer versions without even knowing changes? Maybe it's a beta version, maybe it's buggy... but it's a newer release... using legal german retail (bought it) .4622 with 19209 exe for announcing reasons. Works brilliant on raphael.
But maybe someone knows a list of changes or fixes, advantages or disadvantages in 19971?

Problem upgrading blueangel to wm6: no vibration incoming call

Hi to everyone!
I upgrated my blueangel from wm2003 to wm6 ( 6.1 ROM MiChy ITA 1.21 ).
Everything works fine but.. my pda doesn't vibrate in my incoming call & sms alert or notification.
How can I fix my problem? Something bad in the reg?
Does everybody experienced my problem?
Thanks
p.s. My radio version is 1.12 ...should I upgrade to 1.15 ?
It doesn't vibrate at all? If you already tried setting SMS and call alert to vibrate and it does not vibrate then it must be a hardware failure. Try to install phone_pad_vibrate then SR your BA and go to phone and press some numbers and if it still didn't vibrate then it's a hardware issue.
You can find that cab here!!!!!!!!!
Jejeje yes men but on some devices the phone pad wont works... reupgrade your rom man!
if you wanna try that test... check that cab and download it from my downloads link at my siggy.
just don't download +Que's porn collection on his siggy...hehehe
Shhhhhhh!!!
dont scream it loud man!
I dont want a mod over me asking for more pics or videos... jajajaja.
Oh yes... if you download some.. share more than that.
I also have the problem were it doesn't vibrate. If I go to ringtone settings, select vibrate, then press play, it vibrates, but whenever a call or sms comes in it doesn't vibrate at all.
missing information

could you give me the basic information of your device. i need to know about the radio version, which rom you are using...
without those basic things, the chances of receiving help here are rather slim.
Thanks guys!!
I fixed the problem simply upgrading my radio to 1.15 and installing:
> MMS_enable program
> ARCSOFT MMS Composer 4.2.8.1
maybe these sw enabled some windows mobile keys...
I hope my solution will be helpfull for anyone who experienced this bug.

Call volume problem. (WM 6.5)

Not just another whining thread, although I'm feeling rather whiny about this problem, lol.
I upgraded to one of the cooked WM 6.5 roms (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=516102 from jmckeejr, 21812SE version) and of course the audiopara3.csv file doesn't fix the low volume problem. I tried manually adjusting the seemingly-relevant registry settings (HKCU\ControlPanel\SoundCategories\ like Attenuation, InCall, etc.)
Changing the settings from their defaults to 5 in the Ring folder (AttenuationCategory and InitVol keys) fixed the ring tone volume, but the ones in Attenuation, InCall, InCallFeedback, etc; did not fix in-call volume. I can't stand it! I've tried two different customized audiopara3.csv files, one of which is the one I had that worked beautifully on my RomeOS 6.1 rom, but...I can't get anything to fix it on 6.5. I tried WOW SRS HD 1.21 and maxed everything, still nada; and yeah, I soft reset after every single change no matter what.
Anybody have any suggestions? I'm desperate. I don't want to go back to a 6.1 rom; I like most of the changes in 6.5, but...for the love of god, struggling to hear my caller in anything but a relatively quiet environment is killing me.
Much <3 to any assistance.
Hey man, really no need to start a new thread Come on back to the ROM thread and I'll see if I can get you fixed up. My volume is suitable for me, but all you had to do was ask and I'll take a look. I'm pretty easy going and straightforward, so next time give the cook of your particular ROM a chance to get you straightened out before posting a new thread
