I just installed the XDA Live 3.0(WM 6.1) and all was great; then I had to install Good Mail for my office.
It has hijacked my Contacts and Calendar menus on the Today screen. What is weird is that with the XDA Live dialpad, the contacts are correctly pointing to my Outlook contacts, but when I try to install anther dialpad (tried the Wizard_reTOUCHed_Dialer2), Good Mail hijacks the telephone contacts too. Uninstall and the dialpad contacts are back to the outlook contacts.
What I really want is to detach Good from contacts and calendar both on Today and on phone's dialpad...
Anyone encounter this? Anyone able to point me to possible registry points that I might be able to tweak? I've looked into the registry but can't see where this is occurring.
Any and all help appreciated.

Guys,
My org uses goodlink (good.com) as the email service provider not microsoft's push mail. I recently upgraded to a tilt and changed the rom promptly to schapps latest release.
The way the good software works is that it adds its own software stack (email/contacts/calendar etc) which syncs to the my outlook. The problem this creates is that my contacts do show up (the right softkey button leads to contacts which are the goodlink contact list) but are not connected to my dialer.
To be able to use smart dialling i then have to manually sync my phone to my computer to copy the contacts again which is a pain. My previous phone was based on windows 2003 whose dialler showed the goodlink contacts directly.
If there are any ideas or suggestions please let me know.

This is not what is supposed to happen. I use GL too. If you sync with Active synch eventually, you will end up with duplicate contacts. Sometimes it takes a bit of time for this to occur. This applies to GL 5. In 4.9, I had to do exactly as you are stating...synch only the contacts with active synch.
interestingly, I have a post regarding Good Mail. I found that using the XDA Live 3.0 (WM6.1) with the reTOUCHED dialpad, my contacts, while in the phone mode, linked to my Lotus notes contacts, not my local ones.
If I'm understanding you correctly, this is exactly what you want to happen (exactly the opposite of what I want to happen on mine).
I have 5.0.3.23 good mail with the above and it works the way you want yours...
Good luck,

With 5.0 the contacts are shared. If you sync with active sync, they will be duplicated because you are already syncing the mail server. GL 5 takes over much more of the system than past versions. I have found no way to change its behavior at all. If I make changes, it has protections in it that undoes the changes.
thanks for the help guys. I got on IT's case and changed my GL version to 5.0 and a hard reset and the installation of the retouched dialler everything is now working exactly the way i want it. Thanks guys!

Have you tried using Microsoft Voice command with Goodlink contacts? in my search for a solution i found a thread on another forum which said that voice commands/dialling wont work with goodlink contacts and we will have to sync them again. Im going to be trying it anyway but just wondering if somebody has already done the effort.
I can also vouch for that. I am the good admin at my org and the latest 5.0.4.46 works quite nice with outlook contacts and allows for smart dialing.

I use voice speed dial and it works with GL 5 owning the contacts without doing a sync via active sync. Haven't used MS VCMD so ymmv.

I just wish I could talk my IT guys into a longer wait period before locking the phone...30 minutes kind of sucks when using the GPS...in a car. Any ideas for hacks? I haven't found any.
Greets,
I have been living with this for a while, and hope someone can help.
Each time I flash a ROM or reformat my home computer, my first sync with my Tilt doubles all calendar entries. SIM contacts are hidden/off ... this has to do with the phone thinking the outlook contents are new to sync.
Does anyone have any idea how to keep this from happening?
Thanks!
Hi,
I had exactly the same problem, annoying in the extreme.
I use the MyPhone service (free) at http://myphone.microsoft.com and this has a Remove Duplicates feature after you have sync'd your Calendar with it. It also does Contacts if ever that become a problem.
Seems to work well and I have recently used it to restore my MDA after a ROM upgrade to check it works.
Hope that helps
John
I have had all contacts double before but not anything else.
hey guys!
I wanted to import my contacts from facebook to my winmo, however I tried several apps which don't do the job at all, neither does Microsoft Facebook.
Does anyone know how this can be done?
Thanks
I would be interested to know as well. Thank you

try this: it's only for mac though!
http://www.maciverse.com/add-your-facebook-friends-phone-numbers-to-address-book.html
outsync is free but it only sync facebook contacts portrait with outlook portraits but useful enough
have u tried "booksynch" http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-booksync.html
Good but dont get contact Phone number and e-mail
I use fonebook to sync my contacts into (desktop) Outlook and then I sync them to the phone. The phonebook app lets you choose the size of the pictures you add to the contacts, so it doesn't look nasty on the diamond's vga screen.
hello, I'm switching from my beloved touch pro to the nexus one, but don't want to manually put all of my contacts to my new phone. is there a way for me to export all my contacts from windows myphone contacts to google and to the nexus. i tried just importing my contacts through my live account, but that only pulled the email contacts and not all of my phone contacts. I'll take forever to do it manually, and if I save them to my sim, I'll lose a lot of info. any help? I'm lost at this point.
I looked for a solution to this for a days. The best solution is http://www.spritesoftware.com/products/migrate/how-does-it-work- up to now.
thanks. looks like exactly what I was looking for. I'll give it a try and report back.
I found that installing Google Mobile App on my Touch Diamond2 synced all my contacts to my Google Account and therefore automatically appeared on my N1.

There's many ways of doing this....
If any of these apply you can try any of these...
First you can just import them using bluetooth I'm sure. You could just 'mark all' or select all your contacts in your phone book on your phone and just send them using bluetooth to the nexus.
You could also import them into Outlook express and save them as a file and import them into gmail under contacts in gmail.
Or you could set up an extra gmail account and sync your phone's contacts to that account using Google sync and then export those contacts as a file and import them back into your main gmail account or keep them there and use that account to sync with your nexus.
Sorry for making it sound confusing but I'm coming off a symbian S60 V5... I know there's many ways of doing this
I dropped my HTC Touch Diamond down a storm drain, so I'm replacing it with the HTC EVO. My phone synced a day or 2 before, so I have all of my contacts online with Microsoft My Phone. I see no "export" option anywhere on the page. Any help/suggestions for retrieving and importing into the new phone?
I think the easiest way is to set up your gmail account as an exchange account on your Windows Mobile phone and set it to sync mail and contacts.
http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?answer=138636&topic=14299
Then once you set up your N1, your contacts will sync automatically. I love this feature from Google as much as any other. You will never lose your contacts again, no matter what happens to your phone. Also, you can edit and add contacts in your gmail account online and they automatically appear on your phone.
DejaOffice will sync your Nexus contacts to Outlook via USB without going through the google cloud.
Is there a solution for exporting contacts from myPhone? I have broken my TD2 and my TD1 so I can't use that to sync the contacts to the phone and export them. If I could I would probably sync all my old text messages as well.
I am embarking on an approx 30 min task of copying and pasting all my 400 contacts from MyPhone to excel then I can import them. At least I get to tidy up my contacts and remove any duplicates.
**Didn't read full problem before posting

This was great.. man u really helped me out..
Hey everyone,
Like most of us, I have contacts in lots of places, and I would be happier if I could have them in one place. Google Contacts I think is the most appropriate tool for syncing contacts (not just with phone / Gmail) but with other places too.
It is rather straightforward how to sync Google Contacts with a TD2, but I really hate that when it does sync, it puts contacts in as Lastname,Firstname.
I was suggested that I use Contacts Changer (a Marketplace available app), but because contacts sync with ActiveSync, it keeps re-syncing and putting them back to the Lastname,Firstname format.
Does anyone know a solution to this? Anyone know how to make it show up in the contacts list as Firstname,Lastname? Permanently??
(Note: I considered putting contacts in using only the 'First Name:' field, but then that has downsides too. Sorry if I'm being fussy now )
Mate...I had to edit my 200contacts one by one on Google Contacts...and write them like:
PHIL_JONES
ROBERT_MILES
...
That was the only way so that they would be properly shown in mu HTC D2...
Hope it helps...
