I have a ATT Tilt. Now my phone has a security lock on it, if i want to access the phone i have to enter the code and open it up, if i recieve a phone call i can press the answer tab on the touch screen or the green answer button, but my question is, Is it possible to make it so that the green button is useless when phone is locked up, so that it wont answer accidently when in my carry case or pocket?
I searched and couldnt find anything on the tilt. If there is info then please direct me in the right direction. Thanks guys.

This one's got me stumped, I may just be overlooking a simple answer but it hasn't happened previously on my Magician or Vario before.
I carry my Vario III around in a large coat pocket for most of the time. I have a lot of appointments and calls which activate the screen when they occur. I then have the problem when fishing around for the device that a) I answer the call from touching the screen, b) End the call from touching the screen, c) Open a load of different apps where the appointments have made the screen go live and the movement in the pocket has brushed the screen.
All I want to do is use only the hardware buttons ie. Answer, End, Power button. Where can I find the settings for this? The "key settings" menu or "buttons" doesn't cover it so where is it? It's driving me mad!
Hold down the 'red' phone button to lock all but 'Power' and 'Unlock' soft key.
You can still answer a call as normal when it comes in with the with the 'green' phone key.
Thanks. I know about the standard lock, but then you're into multi key press territory to unlock it. I just wondered if someone knew of a way (or program) that once the screen was off it stayed off until the answer, reject or power button was pressed and then in the case of the power button the device returns to "normal".
I'm not sure if your idea would be very viable. The screen has to come on so that you can see who's calling!
Pretty pointless to reject a call when you don't know who it is.
I understand what you are trying to get at but wouidn't you still have the problem of not being able to use any other functions within a call like looking up a Contact or checking your Calendar. Hitting the Power button during a call to get back to normal use would be a bit 'hit n miss'.
Thanks for the reply. I agree it's not ideal and I guess if it was something everyone wanted someone would have brought a .CAB out for it. That my Q answered in any case. Thanks again.
Try searching the forum for 'S2U2'. It might be what you're looking for.
That should cover it just fine. Thanks for the pointer.
Nice one helterskelter
Didn't think he would want to open it to answer a call thats all as he seems to have big fingers and hit everything but 'Answer'
No, sorry, just my dark humour...
Hope you are sorted.
I phoned a friend last night at 1am - accidently. All I did was put my Diamond in its case and it dialed out.
What do you do to get around this? Lock it? How? I've also heard that locked devices unlock on an incoming call?
Thanks,
Jon
Try pressing the standby-button on the top of your phone. This should turn your screen black and make the touchscreen unresponsive.
edit: you could also longpress the "End Call"-key so you cant press any button accidently
I have a couple of anoying problems with the diamond. Its my first smart phone and there are som things I think the SonyEricsson handle better
First, whats up with the deal that Phone mode dissapears when you talk? When I´m calling some kind of support and need to press numbers thru the menu the phone locks after just about 5 secs and I have to go in to phone and keypad again, very anoying. Is their a way to keep in i phone mode to easy access to the keypad and ex speaker mode?
Second, the phone doesnt vibrate when it rings. When I choose vibrate-mode in the quick list it goes quite and vibrating, great for meetings. But I still want the phone to vibrate if I´m in a club or something
Third, Is there any way to shut down the function of the keypad appears automatically? When I go in the phone and wants to call I may have the number in the quick list but then I have to get the keypad away to see it. Isnt there a way to get it to appear only when I actually press the keypad button?
That was the first three questions, I suspects there will be plenty more after a while But I would appreciate any help I can get

this is a feature not a bug and it is for you not to start any app with yr ear.
it can be override in many ways. one of them is using advance configuration 3.2. search! search!

try settings/phone/ring type/ vibrate and ring or vibrate the ring.

also can be changed. in phone mode go to menu/view/speed dial. this way when you call you'll get behind the phone pad yr speed dial. just push the little phone icon in the middle, lower screen and you'll have the speed dial only.

i hope that next questions you are going to ask are going to be after you'll read the manual and a few threads here or you'll get ignored or worse...seriously flamed.

I was told to put Phone sleep during call and fast sleep during call to Disable and Not Allowed in AC but the problems still remains.

I want to change the way the keypad acts. So its never appears automatically when the phone thinks I´m gonna use it, when I´m gonna write a SMS for example
hey guys,
I know what u think, but i'm not talking about when getting the phone out of my pocket...
so i'm using android revolution latest rom. when the phone is locked, theres no problem. getting a phone call i need to swipe to answer.
the problem is, when the phone is NOT locked, and i'm chatting in whatsapp or sms or whatever, when i get a call i'm in the middle of speed texting so i end up pressing the answer button, which is now a button and not a swipe option.
what is need is for the phone to enter locked mode or whatever, as soon as i get a call, so i will have to swipe to answer
thanks.
