Telenav problem..

Just wondering if anyone is having the same problem with telenav, or if there is a fix to it. Ive looked around the forum with search and cant seem to find anything but telenav not being compatible with custom roms.
Im using Dutty's latest rom with my Tilt and i recently just added telenav to my phone, when i bring it up, it connects fine and gets to the screen where you select "drive to" and "maps". When i try to determine my own location to record it, i hit go and it basically brings up the connecting box where it goes from 0 to 100% but it doesnt move at all for me after a few mins anywhere i go..also i cant do any routes for the same reason..it seems like its just not making a good connection when im outside. I checked my connection settings, proxy is not on..set up for medianet on both connections as i read from another persons suggestion, but still no go..
assisted gps is also turned off..i can do quik gps and everything else just fine but it hangs when trying to download the route...ive re-installed the program also but no go still.
anyone have any ideas to what might be causing this?
if this problem has been resolved, ive looked and looked in the forums but maybe my eyes are blind lol.

I'm running Dutty's latest 6.1 dated April 9 and Telenav and have no issue. Runs flawless.

Yes I am on medianet. Proxy is disabled.

gprs setting
is your gprs setting set to chap authentication, i havnt touched this but mines set to chap, but this is auto configured when setting up the network with att?

Yah my telenav is still hanging up at getting gps when trying to find route and my location...installed gpsgate and changed the radio to 1.58.16.27 not sure what else to try..

Can't remember, but do you download telenav through Pocket IE after you flash the custom rom?
I can't remember if it auto-decides what download you get based on your PIE useragent, or if you select the product for downloading... but if it's based on UserAgent you may run into issues...
Cellular video, for example, does not work if the UserAgent is not the Tilt

i downloaded the cab through a txt message i received from att. i selected att and then my phone and it auto installed from there.
only thing i havnt tried is changing my rom but i dont see how that would help..im using dutty's apr 1st release.

First, did you Hard reset after rom flash at the "Tap here to alighn" screen? Second, did you install Telenav prior to any cooked rom flash? The reason I ask this if you got the file from AT$T while you were using a stock rom then that is fine, but if you got while you were using a cooked rom, it is probably a bad file. The reason is that most cooked roms have the PIE User agent set to TYTN II not HTC-8900 (AT$T Tilt) which could cause a corrupt download if you indeed have a Tilt. I suggest uninstall, power down, power back up and try the file I attached. I have installed it with every rom I have tried, literally dozens and never had an issue. When I say power down, power back up, dont do a soft reset. Use the power button.

yah i always do the hard reset after flashing. i dl'd it with dutty's apr 1st rom..i selected the file based off carrier and phone model. I will try your cab after work..im hoping it will fix it haha thanks man. Once i get home i will let you know how it went

well for some reason still it seems to be taking its time when looking for a route somewhere..it gets to 10% after 2 mins and 30% after 6 mins..it was working fast as hell yesterday and i dont think it should be taking that long right?
i started up gpsgate b4 i ran telenav, its saying it has gps data coming in but no position..
im clueless..lol

Just a question but do you have assisted Gps enabled? If so, disable it. If that doesnt fix it, maybe try GPSTest?

Another broken GPS.

Hey guys, hope you can help.
Successfully updated my V1615 to WM6.1 on Friday.
Before I did this, I had TomTom installed which used to get a lock on to the satellites in less than 30 seconds.
I used the device with TomTom on Saturday and after an initial delay of locking on (which I assumed normal as it was a fresh install) it worked.
However trying to use it today and it just will not pick up a signal.
The ROM I used was the Vodafone one linked to from the Wiki list. (3.08.161.0) (Radio 1.64.08.21).
I have also tried Changing the Radio ROM to 1.65.17.10 but no difference.
It's set to Other NMEA device, 4800 baud and COM4 like it always was. I have run a QuickGPS download.
Strange thing is, when I go into the GPS config in TomTom I used have all the satellites listed in gray which would then turn blue when locked on but now they aren't listed at all.
Please help! I do have a bluetooth gps receiver from when I had my Hermes so I can get but part of the reason to get the Kaiser is so I have an all in one unit. I'm just in the middle of a hard reset to try again but does anyone have any thoughts on the matter? It's gone from being a brilliant GPS unit to a dodo!

Test if Google Maps finds some satelittes, just to check if there is a problem with TomTom

If that doesn't work, I'd reinstall the old ROM and see if the functionality returns and if it doesn't assume you have somehow broken the GPS.

wow you picked the wrong radio to change too. You should have read about it before changing to 1.65.17.10. You should do some research on what you did to yourself.

Maybe you should read the thread that redbandana is talking about... maybe the bit about it being locked to your phone and you can't downgrade it... not really a good choice 'cos he's now stuck with that radio and also maybe stuck with WM6.1 (which also sucks - WM6.0 faster and more stable imho).

I had to do a hard reset and reinstall apps. TomTom no longer works. LiveSearch does RunGPS does. Neither TomTom or GPSTest can find the GPS. Any suggestions? When you choose other NMEA device in TomTom options are Serial on USB and COM7: that's it.

Well, it works now! I used to be able to get a lock on indoors, but now I can't. However if I go outside I cado get a lock on in TomTom. It seems like the GPS is now less sensitive, but hey, it works aand that's the main thing.
I'll do a search later but does anyone have a link to the thread regarding this dodgy radio. I did try and downgrade it but as you say, it didn't. I have some more coming in this week anyway so I can give this to someone who doesn't need/want GPS and I'll have the shiny new one. Ah the joys of working in IT!
Oh, and thanks to IK for the Google Maps link, brilliant app! I'd seen it on the PC but not pocket PC.

FWIW, my Tomtom uses the "Internal GPS" setting, not "other NMEA device"

This is the link for the 'dodgy radio'. It looks like it is also an AT&T only radio.

I'm now having issues with the actual phone operation, intermitant no sound or buzzing.
I think I'm going to take a chance and return it to Vodafone. They do a next day swap under our corporate contract.
If there is any comeback I'll just plead ignorance!

Satrted to have the buzzing earpiece and broken camera issue with this radio, so it's gone back to Vodafone as faulty! Replacement is currently still on stock Vodafone WM6.0 ROM. To be honest I think I'll stick with 6.0, as 6.1 didn't really offer anything over it.
Roll on 7.0!!

If you're sticking to WM6.0 (i do too) try Q-mobile 1.2 with radio 1.27.12.17 or 1.27.12.32 - they both work well in the UK.

My friend, you need this (Vodafone WM 6.1 pre release) and use it with this Niki 1.58.11.07 Radio.
Been running this for a few days and basically I've changed my opinion on my V1615 from wanting to sell to now enjoying using it.
Highlights include 30 - 55 second GPS fix in TomTom, much much better speaker phone and better call quality.
Try these out and I'm sure you'll agree.

As long as I'm outside I get a lock on in TomTom in about 15 seconds which is good enough for me. On my old one that I bricked I was sure I used to get a signal inside as well.
I'm just looking at the Wiki for the Q-mobile one.

Do you not experience the key lock bug in WM 6? Was one of the main reasons why I upgraded to 6.1.

What's that? Is that the one where you press end call to end a call and sometimes it locks your touch screen? If so yes, but not very often.

Yeah something to do with when you set your device with a password and it goes into sleep mode during a call and then you wake it up and the start menu stops working.

From the advent of wm6.1 I've found many problems (using quickgps) to fix satellites .
Yesterday I've tried to use this little program http://www.avaricum.net/qgps.cab.
You know it?
Now the fix is much more better (like wm6.0)
Can you try it and post your suggestions?

Good find bro, i just switched from tom tom to iGO, an i'll have to say the latter is much quicker, so this software should speed it up a treat!!

program seems to freeze up my device requiring a soft reset.
oh this is also in the wrong part of the forum it should be listed in software.

quicker gps fix is something to do with your radio not your windows os
the q-gps freezed my friends kaiser too his radion 1.65
the q-gps worked well with me i have neon radio 1.58

well it was freezing because I was attempting to connect using wifi opposed to using data considering I am at home.

Diamond iGO8 losing GPS once every 10 seconds

Dear forums,
I've got a new HTC Touch Diamond and I've got iGO8 current version running pretty well at the moment.
The only problem I'm experiencing is that every ten seconds, when navigating, the GPS receiver turns red in iGO8 GPS overview and the signal is lost. About five seconds later the receiver is back again with an all green signal and a good fix.
The iGO8 version is 8.3.2.80621.
Any help?

I've got the same problem for a long time. Sometimes soft reset solved that for me. But witch registry key do we have to change ?
HKLM/Software/HTC/SUPL AGPS/EnableAGPS ? This one is already to 0 on my diamond but sometimes that bug comes again.

use shacks advanced config toll to disable agps...not sure why we have it if we cant use it(agps)???

1.
Erase QuickGPS data. Simply delete 2 files: Temp\xtra.bin and Windows\xtra.bin
2.
Soft Reset phone.

I deleted the 2 files and now the device doesn't freeze any more.

Well, thanks to all the guys in the other topic, especially Motaba who got this right and saved our GPS'
Mine wasn't working as well and I Google Sited xda-developers and found it so all the credits to the other guys!
