Hey ya'll...
I have a HTC S730 (Wings) which has a bit of play in the slide-out mechanism. I was wondering if it's possible to tighten the slide-out mechanism or if there's any tricks on how to solve it ?
I've contacted a few repair shops, but none of them could help me with it...

Hi,
I think my touchscreen is smashed. It happened at a festival. I think the presure was to high despite carring my HTC Kaiser in my pants pocket and in its case. Or could it be because it was too cold because after the festival it worked just a little ****ed up (so not reacting very quick etc).
I want to send it now to the HTC support. How much will that cost and is there something with warranty? And what about the ROM? Should I flash to the default HTC ROM or what?
And btw: Is there any touchscreen diagnostic or hardware error diagnostic tool?
Please help me out!
BUMP! I really need help on this issue.
Is there any physical damage? If not, then how would they know you damaged it?
Just send it in.....
No physical damage. Do I have to send it with the bill? If yes, I think I have a problem...
How about you give them a call and find out what you need to do.
Hello all,
i was wondering if anyone had a similar problem to me. On my kaiser the keypad chrome seems to be slowly flaking off of the keypad. I've attached a picture so you can see.
As my unit is less than a year old i've contacted HTC, and they say it is still covered, but have referred me to the agency here in Germany that handles repairs.
I've spoke to them and they are much less helpful! The say that they cannot determine whether this is covered, and that i need to send my unit in for repair, at my costs. If they determine that this is not covered then i'm charged anyway for the repair.
So, i was wondering if anyone else had this problem?

Yea, its happening on my tilt! I figure its battle scars!
YOu think there is any chance this will be considered to be covered under warranty?

Doubt it. I believe it's considered cosmetic and it doesn't interfer with the functionality of the phone itself. There should be another thread talking about this same issue and how it's not covered under warranty. But don't take my word as gold - I am going from memory!
However, you can replace it yourself for fairly cheap:

Mine is doing the same thing. The messages button looks like a square now lol.
It not really a big deal to me, as long as it still works.
heres a replacement on ebay, only 8 bucks +shipping:

USA and UK versions
im in the process of Modding my tilt and even buying parts im looking for some manuals or websites that can give me a guide on replacing the keyboard, screen, sim card holder and so forth step by step of the way, so i dont have to break anything to learn from it. I dont know if its possible but I want to even be able to change my tilt into adding the front video camera like the orignal HTC comes with, i know the keyboard is possible but to add the front vga video cam i dont know. The American version does not have this so adding it is very important to me. If anyone knows anything where i can find some directions on this please help. Do any of you know if its built into the outer body with a snap clip on the inside of the replacement part or not any insite of this is very much appreciated.
Even if anyone have any broken HTC Kaiser TyTn II laying around collecting dust
im interested in these as well if i cant find the manuals ill buy the broken units for parts etc. thanks in advance.

I'm no parts expert, but checkout Link removed - no longer valid for all the Kaiser Manuals.

Hi I have a Polish Milestone with 2.1 from I get a lot of complaints from friends that they don't hear me well during phone calls. I think it has something to do with Crystaltalk. Does anybody has the same or does anybody knows a solution for this?
Hi there, I've got the same problem and I'm discussing about it on another forum, in Italian language, but we didn't find any solution yet. Do you speak Italian? Have you find other informations around on it?
Hi,
it seems that this issue is, sadly, common to a lot of Droid/Milestone owners.
If you check the Motorola owners' forum, under the Milestone section, there is a "mechanical" solution!
Unfortunately it is not a problem of software...pls go to motorola owners forums and search for the thread: "Motorola milestone horrible sound quality issues please advise"
I tried it and it worked.
In poor words it seems that a metal band on the back of the ear speaker (under a plastic cover) is vibrating and causes the problems of fading voices, metallic voices and tunnel effect...
Putting a piece of paper/rubber/or something similar between the metal and the body of the telephone stops the vibrations and the voice turn back to normal.
(but please follow the link, there are also self-explanatory pictures - more easy to do than to explain)
In my experience it works!
Well, for some time it worked but I had to open the plastic cover again after some days to fix again the paper that moved from position and, now, I will have to do again 'cause my friends are saying again that they don't hear me.
So, it is not an "official" solution, but if you read deeply in the forums, there is a huge number of customers complaining against Motorola as the company is not saying anything about this matter, as if it doesn't exist!!!
good luck!,
bye,
Mauro
If anyone has a schematic or better yet troubleshooting/service manual for XT875 would be greatly appreciated. My touch screen isn't working even after replacement and I think it has something to do with motherboard connection and need to check voltages/pin assignments. Any help very appreciated...I have had this phone for 4 years and hope to have it for another 4...
