Hey,
I've installed Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard onto my Wings and I changed the browser.dll for IE because I wanted to enable the Vodafone Live! functions. But now IE doesn't run anymore. So I need the original browser.dll please.
Mike
I don't know if this works for you, but on my S730 I could delete the modified browser.dll, then turn the phone off and on again, and the original browser.dll is restored from the ROM. But I the use WM 6.0 Standard that came with my phone, maybe this is different for WM 6.1.

What happens exactly when you run the changed IE browser.dll on your Windows Mobile 6.1 ??
The IE freezes after startup... so I have to close it via the task manager..

just download and use this program:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=8UHY6PRP
and follow the instructions
Tried it?
Hoi
I upgraded to M 6.5 and want to go back to 6.0 will this work for me?
Jurgen
wm 6.5
THIS IS THE UPGRADE TO WM6.5 from veisen !!!!
Jurgen
yes but it has wm 5.0 rom inside so it actually installs windows mobile 5
Call me Noob, but the zip file downloaded contains four different executable programs with no instructions (e.g. readme.txt, etc.).
In what order are these to be run?
sorry,
run the romupgradeutility.exe only don't run the others
I download the updater application - _ATT Tilt_RUU_Kaiser_CINGULAR_WWE_3.57.502.2_radio_sign_25.88.40.05_1.65.21.18_Ship.exe - from HTC's site, but when I double click on it, it immediately says "kaiser has encountered a problem and needs to close" . I got it to start ok in safe mode, but then ActiveSync doesn't work correctly so still I can't do the upgrade.
It does this regardless of whether the phone is connected or not.
Phone:
HTC 8925
WM 6 Professional
ActiveSync 4.5
HardSpl 3.29 installed.
Computer:
Windows XP SP3
Any ideas on how I can fix this?
you could try
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=KaiserSDFlash
activesync is not needed at all
Got It
I did some more googling, and someone had the same problem which turned out to be the browser that they used to download the update files. I was skeptical, but they had downloaded it twice with firefox, and then downloaded it with Internet Explorer. They said it then worked, so I followed suite, downloading the WM 6.1 update with IE 8 instead of Firefox 3.5.
Guess what? It worked perfectly!
Funny thing is that now that I have the stock 6.1, I am looking at the custom 6.1 ROMS. I have a WM 6.5 ROM on my other Tilt, but it doesn't have good support for landscape mode, so I think I'll still with 6.1 since it does support it.
Before you start jelling use search and google, i did it and find few solutions ( but no for X1) that i have to change registry and result was always the same. I had to flash rom again because screen goes to blackout. So, if any one had will and knowledge to share...
Thanks
use a registry editor and change Aku value the prior to installing the BBC app..
in:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\Versions
make the "Aku"=".1.6.0"

yes, i try that, and when i install BBC and restart, phone boots with black screen and no responce at all,i had to flash your ROM again. Later even change ROM version to 1.05.931.10 like it was on R3a because for BBC 4.0 stand
"Where to install: on your phone
Version: 4.0
Notes:
BlackBerry® Connect™ for X1 only works with MR2 software versions.These vesions are named 1.05.xxx.xx.
To check the SW version:
Start -> Settings -> Device Information -> Version
In the items menu, the first item is ROM version. MR2 ROMs follow this convention: 1.05.XXX.XX
To learn more about BlackBerry® Connect™ technology" from http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/support/softwaredownloads/detailed/blackberryconnect/x1?lc=en&cc=gb
and change aku to .1.6.0. Than i managed to connect for a 5 sec and then disconected. Something is missing there...but thanks

Hi, I've tried that, could flash the ROM, it was working but unfortunately the Model id is still incorrect (thats why bbconnect doesnt work) On X1 the right device ID should be SEMC-X1 an on a custom 6.5.5 ROM's etc it is HTC-Kovsky i've tried to flash my X1 like 10 times but the best i could do was HEMC-X1 (even i've put SEMC-X1) in the hex editor. Also I found two entries of HTC-Kovsky in the Hex editor, always edited both of them being not sure of which one I'm suppose to change...
Guys help, i want to have a sexy ROM on my X1 but need to have BBConnect working :/

OK guys i've got it.
1. If you are using the original ROM, there should not be a problem (the ModelID is SEMX-X1 already)
2. If you want to use a custom ROM, you will have to change ModelID from HTC-Kovsky to HTC-Raphael on offset 0033A6C0(using the hexeditor from previous post of Sapa13 www.silentservices.de/HexEdit-ROM-for-BBC.html)
3. After you flashed altered ROM to your X1 booted up change AKU (hklm\system\version) to .1.6.0 install BBconnect reboot.
4. enjoy
I was reading this forum for couple of days, and by now i know that i can install Windows Mobile 6.5 on my HTC Tytn 2 (curently having Windows Mobile 6.1). And i can install android (while still having Windows Mobile 6.1)...
1. But can i install Windows Mobile 6.5 and then install Android (preferably froyo 2.2), so that at the end i have both of those sistems?
2. And if something goes wrong, or i simply dont like one of those, can i remove one of them?
3. Or can i even remove both of them and go back to my wm 6.1?

Hello and welcome to the forum
The answer for all of your question above is :
Yes you can
first you have to realize that only one system can be flashed on your device whether it is Android or Windows Mobile. So, if you want to try both on your kaiser you could flash WM 6.5 to your ROM and install run android on your SD card by using Haret.
and if you want to revert back to WM 6.1, you can always flash your stock WM 6.1 ROM.
Here is some guide that might help you
1. How to flash
[Resources] Flashing Your First Kaiser Rom (For Noobs)
2. How to install android on your SD card
how to install with atools and haret
you can download atools and its requirement here :
Atools: all android tool you need
3. Where you can find stock WM 6.1 ROM
- download from official HTC website
- or search here http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/Kaiser/
follow all the steps on each guide carefully and good luck
Than you very much.

hello, my friend has bought used htc tytn ii and didn't know that there is android installed (and locked). He also doesn't speak english so he needs czech OS. I don't have experience with flashing smartphones, I quit flashing while I was using old SE. If there is anyone who could help me with flashing back to WM from android, please do. I have RUU rom WM 6.1 I'd like to use, but android phone won't connect via activesync.
Thanks.

Try using the sd card method. copy Kaiser CustomRUU.exe and RUU rom WM6.1 on the formatted FAT32 sd card and put in TRI color mode and see whether it works or not.
Or, install czech language pack for android? afaik if your android is stable, it's far more usefull then winmo 6.1 could ever be.
