Hi all,
I bought Samsung i780 but I sold it immediately because (even if my was an HC1 release) it have an incredible number of bugs.
Now I like to buy Kaiser but I like to know if there is a particular version without bugs... is there??
Also, does anybody compared headphones output between Kaiser and HW6915 from Ipaq? Ipaq has a great volume (I use it as mp3 reader in my car)! Is kaiser high enough as ipaq? My previous qtek 9100 was not!

It all depends on what you want to use it for...
Kaisers do have bugs, primarily on video playback and game playing but for business use they are fine.
Audio playback is OK but some have problems with skipping on bluetooth devices.
I don't think you'll find anything to match an iPaq audio output, I still have an old iPaq 3870 and it is EXCEPTIONAL on headphones and never found a unit to beat it.
My IPAQ hw6915 is really good. I need only to change it to have HSDPA connection that is needed for my job.
I use the pda for:
- mp3 player in car
- tomtom navigation (with gps included)
- mails
- sms
- phone calls
- calendar
- some videos
so sure for a business use.
The problem is that if I have to buy 700€ of phone I don't like to see bugs!!!

So..
please give me an advise on what version of ROM to look for before buy it!
i recomend looking at the rom development board before deciding for yourself as we all prefer different roms and the need for other things
i for instance havent changed my rom at all just added things to it to make it easier to use and i think my device is ace. kicks the crap out of and i phone anyway
btw anyone kno if the i phone 3g has video calling (2nd camera cant see it on the apple website theve made all pictures so you cant clearly see the top of the device it must be embarassment

I don't know... do you think the XDA III can be better than this? Voice Command through a Bluetooth Headset is sounding pretty good.
I would love to try HP's new BT stack on my I-Mate
That's EXACTLY what I expect from iMATE SE update. Full BT stack. Or at least, use hacked one from HP in XDA2
Its got an external ariel(cant spell) would have been a nice phone without. Its funny when a new phone comes out with one! doesnt look right to me.
Yeah, I don't like the antenna either.
I'm getting pretty anxious for a new i-mate WM2003SE ROM. I hope they add Voice Tag dialing support so you can use the Bluetooth Headset to initiate a call. It sounds like the H6300 does not have that capability, although it does have the ability to send system audio to the Bluetooth headset.
It looks like the MMS app on the H6300 is integrated with Inbox too, but the New MMS dialog looks just like the Arcsoft MMS Composer dialog for creating MMS messages. I wonder if there's a new version of MMS composer that integrates fully with the Pocket PC Inbox! Hopefully we'll get that on the XDA II soon too!
I WANT AUDIO THROUGH BLUETOOTH!!!!
That's the only thing that I hate about the XDA II... I'm tired down.
I don't mind the crappy quality, I was used to it with my other PPC.

Looks like Widcomm's new software that supports Phone Edition devices. It's cool how you can turn on headset support for just the phone, just the system audio/microphone or both. But I still wish I could use the buttons on the Bluetooth headset to activate Voice Tags or something. Sounds like all they can do with the H6300 is Accepting and Ending a call.
Calling all software engineers:
Someone, please get a hold of this BT Stack and backwards engineer it for the XDA II.
I'll donate $20US to whoever does this. I'm sure many more are willing to donate some money for a good cause.
not sure about which version the new hp will use but some people here seem to have the stack working on their devices
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=9927&highlight=widcomm
for me to really wish for audio to headset it would require
1 stereo (mono music is not for me)
2 quality which dident make it all sound like aliens from beyond the sun that i pick up on my HAM
Rudegar,
Those are PC Bluetooth software... We're looking for the new Pocket PC Bluetooth Stack.
The only reason I want Audio through Bluetooth is for games and movies.

Hi BA people,
I've spoken with my friend that has a Hymalaya (QTEK 2020) device, and he was joking me about all the trouble I have with the BA. It has a perfect bluetooth device that works with a lot of headset without noise, WM2005 already installed and working, very rare softresets, and spend less money than me. Amazing thing, I don't use wifi and so...
Franky, it seems to me that this device is a fake.
No people is working anymore on bluetooth that is dead by month and month, stopped at BT3900 and after 6 month I'm still unable to use my motorola HS801 headset that is lying in a corner with a lot of dust.
I was wrong when I buy this QTEK 9090, the older model was better. I think that I will not make the same error another time. Bye Bye HTC.
Sorry to hear that
I'm sorry to hear that you are not satisfied with BA. I'll admit that it has some bugs, but I'm happy since I use WiFi far more than Bluetooth. I almost bought a Treo 650 or Xda Mini, but WiFi was the deciding factor for me.
Hope they fix the Bluetooth problems with headsets though. I had a Nokia headset from my old phone and I couldn't use it with my IIs. At least sharing files through Bluetooth isn't a problem anymore.
contrary to the first poster..
i actually bought this phone knowing its problems...
Solving the problems one by one through the forums is one of the fun things that an xda2s / BA owner can do..
Everyday , I am discovering something new about the BA device.
I guess if I wanted a regular phone that already worked as it should...
I'd have sticked with my Nokia 6600.
Now I have a BA device which has inherrent problems, which forces me to read up the forums here and get really technical about the phone..
This actually made me love the phone more...
Hey guys,
It's so strange...
I know a lot of people aren't satisfied with the Phone or BT on a BA.
I have an SX-66, two weeks now, and it's working so well.
I can pair up with my BT GPS device 100% of the time, with NO problems at all. No need to repair when I turn off unit, etc. etc.
I used to have lots of problems with my HP.
The SX-66 is great.
Also, in terms of a phone, I am also truly happy with it.
I am in my basement and get 40% or 20% signal strength, and I can actually talk on it.
With my old cell phones T-616, Motorolla 720,... no way they would work in the basement.
Very strange how people have so many problems...
This device is 100% great in my books.. (and I am very very fussy!)
Also, since I installed MS Voice Command 1.5... WOW... it is easier to use than any Cell phone i had in my life!
M
I agree with the first poster - I too have a Motorola HS801 which I can't get working properly on my O2 XDA IIs. Highly annoying, but I don't want to risk buying another BT headset in case it doesn't work either!
I have had mine for almost a year now and I have had great success with it! It does have it's issues, but at least we are able to "fix" them ourselves. I use both the b/t and the wifi on a daily basis without any real problems.Btw,I use a motorola hs820 and it works very well for me.I have very few if any resets with the new radio. If I have any complaints about it,it would be with the Truefax.

I have been using a Sony Ericsson Akono 660 Bluetooth with the pda2k BT3900 radio 1.12 and firmware of 1.40 for the last 2 months and I have paired it once. It works really well. I have a coverage of about 10 feet from the pda2k in line of sight and about 4 to 5 feet if the pda2k is in the car and I am outside etc.
For those of you who are not aware of which BT headset to use. I had compiled a thread on www.clubimate.com sometime back which lists those headset (reported by users) which seemed to work and do the basics, ring when call comes in, answer or hang up the call etc.
I would suggest they you review this list before making a decision on buying any BT headset. I also believe that iMate has released a list of officially tested BT headsets known to work with pda2k etc.
good luck
I was considering the Jabra BT800 because their web site states that it's supported with the XDA IIs, but after seeing some comments from others in these forums, it's so hard to work out what to go for.
therock112, I'm sure we're all looking forward to seeing that list!
I have tried the various ROMs with my PDA2K and the BT headset (tried HS810 and 820) are so inconsistent. The BT headset is a great idea but poor with this PPC. I wonder if the Samsung i730 is my next hope.
also disapointed
yes guys to my regert i have to admit that the ba is quite a failer in all the meaning
whaen you pay for device around 700 us$ u expect a little more then we get
the bt the wifi and the problem that seem far far away to be solve so what the solution is just to show our finger up againt ba product what ever
the name is and if the manfacture and microsoft will not improve we shuld decide and if somebody want to have fun by solving problem each day he can use a simple math book!!!!!!
Hi albnigxda!!!!
Do not get nervous....I hv used PPCs since 1997, all that HP and compaq stuff,XDAI/II/IIi/mini/HP6365/ and now BA(PDA2K)
and I can assure that BA is the best....
I use SE HBH 65....no problems
Couple of times use Wi Fi at some malls and cafe shops...Just wonderful with battery and speed.
My BA has become more stable after installing latest O2 ROM and choosing the particular band frequency(1800 MHz in my case) and no bad signal problems...
Use lot lot of applications with 512 MB SD card....
With all the above and 120 calls per day on avrg with 1 hr of GPRS usage My battery lasts for 26-30 hrs(Of course, during day time I keep OFF the backlight, as I use MS voice command and it tells who is calling)
So keep.up and go ahead...u hv the Best Handset of the World....
I can tell u as I hv also used Sony Ericson p8xx/9xx Almost all Nokia symbian phones to the latest 6681.....and I can tell u none can match the preformance of BA...
I hope, this will encourage you.
Good Luck
Have pda 2k latest rom off imate site have gotten 40 feet line of site , out of site is not so good. us a jabra bt800 am on it all day i have more problems with blue tooth on my laptop then my phone have had 3 other ppcs before this one its the best by far.

Nope, not any. Sorry, the Kaiser is crippled in this respect too (unlike, strangely, the Athena - the only current HTC PPC model to allow for call recording.)

It doesn't. Read my related articles - in there, I've explained it's not REAL recording you're hearing. For example, you won't hear the other party at all if you use any kind of a headset or use call recording in a noisy environment.

Doesn't work on my Vario III, only when the speaker phone is on and then it causes a lag of a few seconds. Menneisyys is right, I tried in down the pub without the speaker phone on the other night and when I played back the conversation all I heard was me
Disappointing...
If call recording is a must then you have four options:
1. Use call recording software, always in speakerphone mode. Possible source of embarrassment when using in public areas.
2. HTC Advantage X7500 (Athena). Bulky, heavy and very expensive! Also possible source of embarrassment due to ugly device
3. Buy a Gigabyte WM phone. Most of these support proper call recording of both parties. (Also sold under other names. One example is I-Teq.)
4. Any Nokia Symbian S60 device. Wide selection of devices in a wide price range.

5. Some (NOT all! See my articles for a complete list) ASUS and O2 XDA PPC models
6. HTC Oxygen (if you don't mind it being being a low-end Smartphone)
7. i-mate SP5 or Qtek 8310/8300 or SPV-C600
That's why i still use them next to my kaiser. I-mate for phone calls with pmrecorder and internet on my kaiser thru BT dun.
Only problem, no 3G and no BT Dun if you upgrade the smartphone to WM6.
A friend of mime is working on a reg tweak that will enable recording in-coming calls without having the speakers on. He claims that a two step procedure must take place; first is to funnel the call to the head set connection then carry it over to the recorder input. The caller will though hear a click, he said. but so far he was able to record only the caller and not the receiver of the call. Kind like the opposite of what happens now. He might come up with the cab file by next week.
The Universal does it too, on the very slight possibility that anyone cares!
Its this Damn modern stuff!! (BT)
I can remember when I were a lad and the stream only came on T' cable and we had a splitter that blead it to a pocket memo!
No, seriously, Menneisyys is correct. When you route call audio via BT then (at this time!) you can not intercept the incomimg audio for recording.
Please be patient, someone (on here or commercially) will do it.
Don't worry, in a couple of years when we have quad processors in our earbud connected sunglasses with integral viewscreen, we will be laughing at all our old worries. Just think, would you have thought ten tears ago you could have a unit the size of a cigarette packet that did all this? (HTC TyTynII and forget the US hybrids!)
Then you will only have to worry if the colour matches yours eyes!!
asfoor - is your friend ready with the application ?
thanks

Not sure if this is your problem or not, but to get music, GPS prompts, etc. from my Wing to my mono Bluetooth headset (Jabra250V), I used a utility called btaudio. Not sure at the moment where exactly it is located, I've seen it both as a .zip and a .cab file. A quick search should locate it along with more information.

hmm but wep200 is just not compatible with a2dp.. to use it to listen music you may use bluemusic, bt toggle or bt audio toggle (and im think there is a few more programs) but the quality is (i couldnt find a word) awful.
i didnt try a2dp on itje's roms but it works "out of box" on opentouch 3.0(same build) and pdaviet 6.1
im using motorola ht820 headset which ofcourse support a2dp.

I don't believe the title of this thread accurately describes the poster's problem, hence there are two trains of thought on the solution. The A2DP in Touch-IT wm6.1 Black is one issue, the other being getting the WEP200 headset to work with audio other than phone calls. As slimag posted, his headset is not compatible with A2DP, so any work along those lines will most likely NOT help choodyessas. I choose to try and help with their underlaying question.

Sorry if I confused you guys but I believe my headset WEP200 works with A2DP because I tried on Open Touch wm6.1. I didn't set A2DP tho... I am not sure if the ROM cooked with it but it worked. The real problem is that I can not use Open Touch because my wing freezes ALL the time.. so I'm more into itje's ROMs..
So uhm.. sorry for not responding to the original TS - but am I to understand that there are bluetooth stereo issues with the 6.1 WM roms?
I bought a sony ericsson ds980 stereo bluetooth headset the other day. My phone is currently being repaired by HTC (at least, I hope it is) - I intend to flash Itje's latest wm6.1 ROM to it the second I have my mighty Herald returned to me.
But... WM6.1 doesn't work well with Stereo Bluetooth you say? Even with the suggested fixes in the posts above?

Awsome to hear this..Now I am going to stop my research. And start searching for another great TWEAK
And i think i'm going to buy a headset to
Hey guys, i`ve been browsing the site for a while and thought it about time to make an original contribution. I was looking for a blue tooth headset and my searches here lead me to the MW600. quite a few people were asking about it so i thought it a good opportunity to give my review now that i have one!
from the start then, i bought this as i have a very nice pair of headphones i wanted to use with the phone, but could not be doing with cords. most bluetooth headsets have their own headphones which i get along with even less. this seemed a perfect solution to both problems.
the box it comes in is flimsy at best, indeed the plastic tab to hang the box on is completely lose, useless for hanging up in a shop.
out the box, its a lot smaller than i imagined but a bit thicker too. it comes with a charger that handily also fits the HD2 which is an added bonus and un expected!
when i paired up to the phone i was very surprised to find that the unit displayed the song info correctly. i honestly did not expect this to work outside of a sony erricson phone but it works! the next track and previous track buttons work as well, as does the play and stop buttons.
the hands free works fine as well with the person who called me not knowing i was on a hands free.
the volume control is awful, they decided to use a slider that half the time does not register me raising the volume and when it does its impossible to get the right volume setup, its either too high or too low and the slider is too imprecise to get the setting i want!
I cannot comment on the enclosed head phones as i never used them!
When i play some music through the device ( and that is of course what its for) the results are slightly dispaointing. the sound is okay, but that is about as best as i can describe it. maybe its because i am spoilt by the good quality output from the 3.5mm jack on the phone, maybe i am just used to having some EQ on (which the unit does not provide for and the phone says it cannot apply `audio booser` without somer thing being plugged in the 3.5mm jack) but the bass is there (thanks on no small part to the ehadphones rather than the unit) but the mid seems `transparent` with no real hit and the highs are annoyingly 'sparkly'. This os of course my opinion, and others may find the output perfectly fine and for comparison i also do not like the output of ipods as i find their mid lacking as well so if your happy with i pod output you maybe happy with this units output,
I have never needed to re charge the unit yet after 3 days of having it and listing to it in the morning for 2 hours and on the way home for an hour so the battery seems quite good.
I love the unit but the quality of the output means i will only really use it when i have to, prefering to use the audio jack output, i am however going to look into how the unit works as i suspect the phone is sending SBD encode audio and not the native mp3. if i can ge tthe unit to decode MP3 and the phone to send mp3 then i think we have a winner!
For reference i used CD originals encoded to lame 3.98 -V1.
just ordered mine. thanks for the review. i will also post up my opinion of the headset when it arrives. if it is as good as the include wired version, that will be good enough for me.
Hey thanks for the review as I'm getting one but you didn't speak about the radio does it work? anything else? cheers mate
Thanks for your review.
But could you edit it so that it's not so hard to read?
Spaces between a few sentences would suffice.
Thanks for the review, install WOW SRS and it should improve the sound quality via bluetooth but it will kill audio booster when plugged with the 3.5mm jack and always use WOW SRS.
Vrery nice, all working apart from Cyberon voice dialer, you can initiate Cyberon voice application by clicking the phone button on headset but can't pass voice to the phone as it doesn't recognize voice. It looks like the problem relates to cyberon not mw600.

It's a problem with the HD2 bluetooth stack. I managed to get it working with a new radio, a Miri ROM & a modified Cyberon cab

The Miri V10 ROM is on the HTCpedia forums (I think it is V11 now, not tried it)
Just got mine, tried it and I have to say:
THE MUSIC QUALITY IS CRAP!!!!!
headphones arrived today. WOW. excellent audio and far better than oem headphones. have yet to play with it on radio etc, but so far very impressive.
I have a problem
After the end of any audio file
Lose "stereo audio" connection
and have to push the play button to reconnect "stereo audio"
and also
After the end of calls
Lose "Hands Free" connection
and have to push the Talk button to reconnect "Hands Free"
but if i received a call
"Hands Free" reconnect automatically
But there is a delay for two seconds
I do not know this is normal?
Like power autosaving!!!
this is definately not normal. mine works flawlessly. no need to reconnect ever. i would suggest checking your bluetooth settings and pairing settings again to make sure everything is correct.
I am using smartWatchM with Sony Ericsson MBW-150
I think there is a conflict between the Watch and mw600 connection
The problem is from latest windows build (23569) & (21903 )
When i go back to an old build like (23519)
There is no conflict between the Watch and mw600 connection
Waiting for a solution to this problem or update for Windows without problems
Delays
Does anyone else experience a 3-5 sec delay when the HD2 jumps 1 song/chapter forward?
My combination gives a this delay, which is especially annoying when listening to audiobooks!
I miss a few seconds of every new chapter, need to manually jump 1 chapter forward and the back again.
Does not appear when manually going forward/reverse only when HD2 is in control.
