Hello
In the guide is something written about installing the SPB GPRS Monitor Software, but it isn't on the CD. Sprite Backup was also not no the CD, but it is now available on the HTC e-club.
Someone have the SPB GPRS Monitor on the CD?
i doubt it. HTC haven't supplied it with the Diamond. Sadly, the manual is a generic one for all devices apart from the device specific stuff like touchflo 3d, and it is often the case that the manual mentions something that doesn't appear on the phone itself.....
ok...
Thank you!
I got mine in Singapore and SPB GPRS Monitor, sprite, worldcard mobile was probided in the Application Disc.
odd...
different markets get different applications included.
I have got two english, one french, one dutch and one italian diamond at work for the salesmen, and not one of them came with SPB GPRS monitor.
Seems that in asia they are supplying different apps with the devices.
It's perfectly normal, and that's why you get the inconsistencies in the manual!
I got this version from Touch Cruise (error: not for this device)
I downloaded the trial from SPB site
after installation SPB GPRS Monitor am not able to make a GPRS connetion (vpn)
i did send a mail to SPB with this problem, here is the respons i recieved yesterday
"Dear ,
A new version of GPRS monitor is been under development. Unfortunately, our company's policy doesn't allow sharing more information about future plans and projects including making existing products compatible with currently not supported hardware platforms."
anyone knows another gprs monitor ? not Efficasoft doesn't work either (after soft reset the program reset the status)

Hi guys, looking for some pointers with this one.
Having usefully used Terminal Services on the TyTN to remote support Windows machines while out in the field, I've upgraded to the Kaiser only to find that not only is the improved Remote Desktop Mobile from WM6 not included in the build, but neither is the previous Terminal Services Client. This is a major problem for me as I don't want to have to carry two devices with me (never mind 2 SIMs and contracts!)
Having searched around it seems that Microsoft decided not to make the inclusion of Remote Desktop Mobile madatory in the build, but to offer it as an option to carriers and manufacturers. It also seems that this is something which none of the carriers has opted for - and definitely not Vodafone UK as in my case.
This really has crashed a major downer onto the otherwise brilliant bit of gear which is the Kaiser.
Has anyone any access to the RDM app for installation onto the Kaiser, or, failing that, an "easy" way to port the old TSC from the TyTN?
Try this... this is a remote desktop prog. for PPC on WM6 devices
Its available in the thread where all cabs are located (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=332438), following the big link there will point you to the wm6 remote desktop cab (http://www.cinetsystems.com/xda/Kaiser Cab Collections/WM6_RemoteDesktop.cab)
Thanks guys, brilliant work and saved me loads of gief.
(BTW - I did search across the site but couldn't anything - I'll make sure I try harder next time!)
Is there any software to monitor the data connection (GPRS / EDGE / UMTS / HSDPA) over this TyTn-II...
Yes you need to use the GPRS montior cab. Its on the CD provided with the TyTn2, or else you can find it in duttys cab website, the link is provided in the stickys
Thanks aksd...
I was thinking it would be seperate charge compared to GPRS. I use SPB GPRS Monitor - and after your reply I found that it be used for 3g too

I couldn't find any cabs on duttys cab website with GPRS in the name at all, let alone a monitor cab. I'm on a AT&T Tilt.
I want to try the fee programs first before I spend anything on the SPB GPRS monitor.
I use this, pretty basic though though.

I guess it's a trial but mine hasn't expired yet, but I've flashed a few times and had to reinstall, $10 to buy though.
Hello again,
As I mentioned in a previous thread, I’m due to upgrade my handset in the coming weeks from an N95 to the Touch Diamond (MDA Compact 4)... I have some really good apps on the N95 which I rely on a lot. I was wondering if anyone knew of any WM6.1 alternatives to the following apps...
Nokia Internet Radio
http://europe.nokia.com/A4668051
Hundreds of streaming radio stations over WiFi or HSDPA
Shazam ID
http://www.shazam.com/music/portal/page/default/template/pages/p/shazam_id.html
Music track identification - the app records a sample of the track and tells you the name and artist via data connection WiFi or HSDPA.
Nokia Sports Tracker
http://www.nokia.com/A4388200
GPS Tracking of my sports activity (running / cycling etc) routes viewable in google earth via KML file.
Nokia Conversation
http://www.nokia.com/A4568203
View text messages listed by contact as opposed to going to inbox and sent items separately
I've already checked my other key apps:
Shozu
JoikuSpot
Route 66
And they all appear to support HTC devices such as the Cruise and the Kaiser etc, so I should be ok there.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated - not sure if i should of used a different forum for this really.... if a mod feels ti should be moved please go ahead
Garry
1) the original wm 6.1 text messaging shows you both the send and received at the same time and you can also see them while you r typing so you could reply back to the received questions
2) there is also a program for internet radio on the htc, i have used it and it is perfect. it think it is spb radio. check it out
Excellent, thats a good start Thanks!
Anyone have any alternatives to Shazam and Sports Tracker?
Alternative for sportstracker is RUNGPS
Ah sweet! Thanks lappie!!
after some searching i found tthese....theres probably better ones but the results looked promising:

Another nice Symbian application is Nokia's Lifeblog, overall due to its ability to get synchronised with the PC client... Is there any equivalent in the PPC world?

Thats brilliant, thank you very much
Ya truly something like Nokia Lifeblog in PPC will be truely appriciated..
New here and also looking into moving off Symbian and over to WM... scary stuff ;-)
We do a lot of geocaching and having Geocache Navigator installed on the N95 is great (when a phone signal is present of course) to find cache's close by or check on cache details without having to take printed pages along. It will also guide you via a compass and bearing to the Lat Long location of the cache...
Any apps specifically for geocacher's that will interact with the geocahce web site / data base ?
cheers
Shazam ID works on Diamond
I have Shazam ID working on the Diamond. One problem.... I have to reset the Diamond each time I use the program. For some reason it will not shutdown properly because it is not made for a touch phone. Maybe someone knows how to use it better???

the version you are using (musidid) looks like absolute crap on the VGA screen. very distorted. Its so sad there is no decent version of shazam on windows mobile - I used to use it all the time.

Tried with ForceHires?
Ive searched but to no avail-BUT i may not be searching correctly. Is there GPS software out there that will display ordanance survey co-ords real time on my today screen?(or SPB mobile shel integrated to be really greedy). I work in planning and visit a lot of country building sites and these would make life a lot easier in the more 'off the beaten track' locations. Anything?
I have not tried it, but this one called Nav Mobile seems to be like what you are looking for.
There is also an (old) utility called OS GPS Convertor - get it HERE - that converts GPS long./lat. to O/S coordinates, plus it even claims to work with Tomtom. The version on the web site is for PPC2003 , so it may not fly with WM6.0 or 6.1 - gotta be worth a try though??
HTH,
Mark.
Hi there.
I'm new to the Kaiser and to Window Mobile. Running WM6.5.
Is there a data counter I can use, so I can keep track of how much GPRS I'm using? Thanks.
Google SPB Wireless Monitor.

Thanks. Looks great, but surely there's a free tool that's less fancy?
spb gprs monitor came with the instalation CD of my kaiser, when I install it it was already registered. maybe should check the CD's that came with your phone.
good luck.
The SPB GPRS monitor that comes with Kaiser is older than SPB Wireless Monitor, but it works too.
Thank you.
