If so, can you show me a way...

Hello Guys,
anyone knows here how to type in devnagari(hindi) in HTC touch viva? is there any third party app that supports it?
Thanks
Chaitu18
Simple!
Just download any font you want, copy that file into windows-fonts, soft reset
and done!
It will only allow you to TYPE devnagari and NOT VIEW webpages in Devnagari and you won't be able to READ Devnagari ebooks ( are they available yet?).
Correct me if I'm wrong...it will be really great if you accomplish that on WM.

It's not showing hindi characters. It still shows those boxes. Can you please suggest something that can be done in this regards. I copied the fonts to windows\fonts folder and then installed the keyboard cab.
It shows the keyboard with hindi characters on it but doesn't show hindi characters when typed. It shows boxes. Similarly i tried to open the sites that are using Hindi Font but it's not showing up.
It's working!!!

Please read the previous post clearly! He is saying to copy the fonts to \windows folder itself NOT in \windows\fonts folder. I tried both and pasting in windows folder worked like a charm. however it gives two warnings regarding 'overwriting' and 'ROM font'. Ignore both and you are good to go. This works but there is some error in rendering the kernel pairs, but readable.
Thanks Balraj bhanot for fonts and keyboard.

Bump! Bump!
Hi'ya'all,
I installed the keyboard and it works perfecto.
Is there any way to make vowels add to consenants (to form "ligatures") rather than appear after, "attached to void" on WM6.5 using this keyboard?
EDIT: It may in fact be the case of the font. I installed the font on the HD2 rather than i8000 and it works all right. Somehow i8000 may have had some font that dit not show ligatures correctly. On the other hand, the keybor crashes the HD2 from time to time. Not a big issue though.
Rgrds,
Maciejst
Thanks to denominator77 for this keyboard (Orignal Thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=917886)
Thanks to silverbluem for explaining how to do it.
This patch turns the Spanish keyboard into Urdu. I've tested it on my HD2 running WP7. Use it on your own risk.
Side load this app. Then run 'Urdu Keyboard' from app list and apply patch.
enable es keyboard from settings. Use es keyboard to type urdu. i've used phonetic layout (www.crulp.org keyboard) for urdu.
Thank for sharing this.
Can you show me how to make this app with Vietnamese keyboard?
hi!
First of all, i'm sorry for a late reply. i bought SGN and no longer use WP7 therefore did see this post earlier.
These steps are very simple, all you need to do is to unpack .xap by adding zip to the end and then edit RegistryPatch.xml (all xml files) and replace Urdu characters with Vietnamese one
repack all and install !
I hope this answers your question.
Does WP7 support Urdu fonts?
My nokia Lumia 710 does not have Bengali fonts. I was wondering if Urdu fonts are available by default, or did you install them?
I did not install urdu fonts. WP7 already has Urdu fonts as wp7 supports arabic script. One only has to modify a keyboard to type in urdu.

Hi to all. If you look on my signature, you can look a program that is called "ModernLogin".
This screensaver/tool is translatable and I will ad this feautre to my other two programs.
I need translations to other languages.
If you want help me, you can translate language ini file [L] and help file [H] and then send it to me.
In the ini file you can insert your name or nickname in "author" tag (attention, not ini-author tag!)
Oriental languages are not supported for now, but you can translate the file in your oriental language without problems because i will add support soonly .
Language file: [L]english.ini
Help file: [H]english.rtf
p.s. English, Italian and Chinese are translated yet
Thanks a lot
Hello guys, I need your help to translate "Speech Shopper" application to German, Italian, Poland and Portugal. I also need a product list for Mexico.
(perfect French translation already done by titi66200, Spanish by lomax50).
What I like to ask you:
- translate the app name (local lang equivalent of "Speech Shopper");
- translate app UI (see below);
- create localized shopping list (plain text file in UTF-8 encoding) with common goods/food items.
Please, download this archive first.
If you have "Visual Studio" 2010/2012 installed:
- download & install "Microsoft Multilingual App Toolkit" http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/bg127574.aspx
- rename file "AppResources.fr.xlf" to your language, for example "AppResources.es.xlf" or "AppResources.de.xlf"
- change language code inside file
- open file with "Multilingual App Toolkit" and translate sentences
or (if no "Visual Studio" installed)
- open file "AppResources.fr.xlf" with notepad and replace French translation with your lang translation
Thank you!
I'm already working for the Spanish language
I think that is all, but I'm at your disposal, if not.
in Spanish, the application could be literally translated as: "Comprador parlante"
Thanks a lot, I really appreciate that! Are you able to sideload apps? Or you can share your LiveID with me (PM me) and I add you as a beta-tester (I prefer test first before publishing).
P.S. BTW, for "predefined" shopping list: not exact translation is required but the most "common" goods and food products in your country, including your personal preferences and "slang" names for stuff
