when i use Internet sharing software on my tytn II, sometimes the internet connection become very SLOW and unstable, so i used the same SIM card on Nokia N73 and tested the internet connection and it is GREAT,
is there some tricks i have to do to make the Internet sharing more stable, or is there a newer version than what i have
i am using Win 6.1 the official one...
ROM 3.29.707.0 WWE
Radio version 1.65.16.25
thank you
A lot of the time the perceived connection speed is different than what you're actually getting. Have you tried to benchmark the connection?
I'm partial to Dsl Reports for my benchmarking, they also have a mobile version if you want to test the connection on the device itself.
If you decide to try it out, post your results here.

Hi there!
I just got my MTeOR yesterday and was of course eager to upgrade to RUU_BREE100_1.32.251.1_1.29.00.10_HTC, but now i sorely miss the Bluetooth DUN profile and wonder whether a downgrade to RUU_BREE100_1.30.251.1_1.16.00.10_HTCEUR_Ship will bring it back?
Also does a downgrade work without any problems, i saw some "stuck in bootloader" e-mails here?
Do you have any idea which version was Pre-AKU3 and therefore still features the Bluetooth DUN profile?
It's pretty annoying having a Loox N560 with WM 5.0 PocketPC that cannot connect to a UMTS capable MTeOR which runs WM 5.0 Smartphone. How stupid is that?!
I mainly did the update to get HSDPA, but as i cannot even connect to the phone now... So i'd rather stay with a version without HSDPA that i can connect to, than using one that has HSDPA, but i can't connect to.
Pretty obvious or?!
Of course a tool for WM5.0 PocketPC which adds the Bluetooth PAN profile would also help, but i don't think there is such a thing
Thanks for your help!

Tobias
Hi!
Have a look on this

With this Widcomm Stack the PAN Profile wil be there on your N560.
It´s ridiculous, that devices using code from Microsoft are most incompatible to Microsoft devices.
Thanks ElJogi!
The WidComm Stack is really ways better. Unfortunately i seem to have lost the Obex File Transfer capability now on the N560. At least it does no longer show up in the TotalComander context menu. So no incoming and outgoing files, but Bluetooth PAN support, well that's better than before i guess.
Thanks,
Tobias
HSDPA workgin
Can you verify that you got HSDPA to work with this ROM version?
Good question pkg40. All i can say for the moment is, that there is a shortcut called SetHSDPA_Enable in the Windows\Start Up folder, which sounds promising.
However there is no HSDPA icon or something shown in the menu bar as far as i can see (also now different icon for GPRS or EDGE). So the only way to test that would be to download a big file with some data throughput measureing tool.
If such a test shows a too low data throughput for HSDPA there is still the question whether this is caused by non HSDPA support or due to some other bottleneck or processing problems in the phone.
Most reliable thing to do would be to connect it to some HSDPA capable network tester. Probably we have such a thing at my workplace, so if i can get hold of one i will give it a try.
Cheers,
Tobias
I just bought the Trinity for use on the US AT&T (Cingular) network. The GPS/TomTom application is to die for). It replaced an 8525 (Hermes), which I had just upgraded to the latest Cingular ROM. One of the features of that ROM is a program called "Internet Connection Sharing", which when tethered to a laptop, makes accessing the internet on that laptop over the 3G network immediate and automatic.
I upgraded the Trinity to the latest HTC Europe ROM, and the "Internet Connection Sharing" application is not present. Do any of you gurus know where it may be available??

How about WM6! Mun_rus 2.00.se with GPS & internet sharing

How strange. I am in exactly the same position as you. I have P3600 running on US Cingular and updated to the latest ROM, but I still see internet sharing under programs. Might be worth browsing your folders via activesync to see if you can find the link in the Windows folder somewhere.
check your start menu; it may be there. i've found that if you set something to appear in the start menu, then it will not appear on the Settings, Programs or Connections tabs.
Internet Sharing
Boy, do I feel stupid!
There it is in the Start Menu.

Hi,
As many people I have several internet connections (work – connected to my laptop via active sync when I'm in my office, WiFi at home and GPRS/EDGE/3G when I'm outside).
If there are a lot of Phone utilities, I don't find nice tools to manage internet connections.
Do you know some nice tools? (working on WM6 / TyTn II)
I fact I would like to get a tool permitting to classify the internet connections as follow:
Each program that wants to connect to internet, tests first if a "work" connection is available (trough active sync and laptop), if not, tests for a WiFi connection (already established) and if not, tries to establish a data connection (GPRS, EDGE or 3G).
I think a tool permitting to define priorities in internet connections could very useful. May it already exists or will be developed by someone.
Many thanks for your help.

Original HTC TyTn II (Kaiser 4550)
Rom: 1.56.406.5 (30/08/07)
Radio: 1.27.12.17
Protocol: 22.45.88.07H
Hi I could connected to the internet with my 6.0, but after upgrading to 6.1 i cannot get an internet conncetion via usb (active sync).
how do you get that to work?
thanks
more info would be helpful.......for example, are you trying to share the phones internet with the pc, or the other way around. which rom are you using, and if you are using a cooked 6.1 rom, please post in that rom's thread, you are far more likely to get a helpful response that way
if you mean internet connection as, let your computer use your mobile as a modem.
Then you use the internet sharing program.
Activesync is disconnected and the sharing takes over.
Wireless activesync doesn't work either when using internet sharing.
Thought I read somewhere here recently that with 6.1 your provider can track and distinguish your data useage now while tethering..ie BILL YOU $$$ if you dont have a tethering plan
I used to be able to share my Trinity's net connection with my computer using Internet Sharing over Bluetooth PAN, and it was working well- 2x faster d/l speed than WMWifiRouter and with less drain on the battery.
But I wanted USB sharing , which didn't work under WM5 so i flashed a WM6 ROM under the naive assumption that a Microsoft upgrade would actually improve things... Then found out , to much wailing and gnashing of teeth, that not only does USB sharing still not work (I'm on a Mac), but that Bluetooth PAN Internet sharing also doesn't work under normal WM6 . It goes online for a few minutes then the carrier drops the connection... I guess that something in WM6 tells the carier (vodafone) that I'm tethering and disconnects me.
WMWifiRouter still works, but with the same high drain on the battery.
So, USB internet sharing is out for Mac, and the only option under WM6 is WMWifiRouter, which is too inefficient.
I' d rather have the old Bluetooth PAN functionality, which was twice as fast as WMWFR for some reason.
Do i need to go back to WM5, is this safe to do, or is there an alternative WM6 ROM with the issue fixed?
I searched the forum for hours but cannot find a clear solution.
Thanks for your time.
