Bought Tilt few weeks ago and found out, like many on this forum, that in-car bluetooth phone system was not working properly. Sound was terrible and microphone did not work at all.
Things I tried: Tilt with AT&T rom; AT&T rom withouth bloatware;jetBTFExt-1.31; registry tweeks. Nothing worked.
I still have Qtek S200 and it works just fine.
Reading few post here and there, I found what worked for me.
After placing a call or answering a call, transfer it to handset and back to the car system.
Sound quality and microphone will be working properly.
I believe the problem is in establishing proper connection between Tilt and car system when call is initiated or answered.
Bad part about this workaround is that it take some time to push those buttons and it very very annoying. However, before real fix is found, if I need to have a long conversation during driving I will use this method.

I agree, thats the method Ive been using, but quite annoying. However it is a lot better than holding the phone in your hand while driving AND talking. Hope HTC will fix this annoying issue.
I am using HTC Rom and it links with Mercedes Benz BlueTooth perfectly. It shows all my contacts infomations alone with call history od called and received.

Do you have a map screen coming up after you press "Use Handset" button? This is something that I have in my car (2007 G35x).

Did you try it without Jetware? Made sure your bluetooth was set as discoverable? Paired the device? The more info YOU provide as to what you've done, tried, & what setup you've done it with...the beter the help & answers you'll get.
I'd suggest filtering through the following threads. There have been similar problems fixed:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=364559&highlight=Kaiser+Nokia+car+kit
In the above thread the original poster solved his nokia carkit issue following this:
1. Pair the TyTN II to the car (Nokia HT-2) phone.
2. Switch car ignition OFF and switch off TyTN II.
3. Remove SIM from TyTN II.
4. Place SIM into a compatible phone (in my case Nokia N95).
5. Switch on N95, switch on Bluetooth, switch on Remote SIM access.
6. Change the Bluetooth ID name on the N95 to the same as the TyTN II.
7. Make phone discoverable via Bluetooth.
8. Switch on car ignition - car phone will not be able to connect.
9. Using car controls search for new device.
10. When N95 is found, select connect, it will use the same user profile as the TyTN II (if you selected the same name for the Bluetooth ID).
11. On the car browse to Settings - Phonebook - Update, this will then import all your contacts from your N95 (or compatible phone).
12. Switch off ignition and switch off N95.
13. Replace SIM back to TyTN II.
14. Ensure TyTN II Bluetooth is ON, Remote SIM is ON and the phone is Discoverable.
15. Switch on car ignition - car phone will not be able to connect.
16. Using car controls search for new device.
17. When TyTN II is found, select connect, it will use the same user profile as before.
18. Now browse the car Phonebook as normal - All your contacts are now available for you to use.
19. Don't forget to turn off discoverability on the TyTN II and to rename your compatible phone (N95) to prevent any future conflicts.
This worked for me! I hope it will work for you! Good Luck!
I did try it with removing the jetware the bluetooth works fine but cant download contacts is there anyother patch or software more compatable with nokia bluetooth devices. Jet ware is good but wont let me disconect call when done any one else have an issue like this
BOBBYDS1 is your connection between the Kaiser and the Car Kit using Bluetooth as a headset (in other words the phone still functions and you can look up and dial with the phone) or is it using rSAP (Remote Sim) which switches your Kaiser into flight mode.
I ask this as it will determine which way you look for a solution. If its using rSAP then most Nokia systems that are fitted into cars as factory fit have not yet developed the correct software to communicate with Windows Mobile devices, in which case you will need to remove Jetware from you Kaiser and use my solution on a previous post as quoted above.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...+Nokia+car+kit
Mark
The phone still functions as i can disconnect by the phone it self here is the thing sometimes I can disconnect call by the nokia bluetooth device but a lot of times I cannot disconnect, i have to pull phone out of my pocket and end call
@BOBBYDS1 and fb.knight
No offence guys, but you need to go back to Junior High and learn how to use commas, question marks and letter cases.
Posts like that will rarely get you any kind of a reasonable response.
what nokia bluetooth car kit are you trying to use?
Still not clear if your carkit is using headset or rSAP profiles. Can you either tell us the model of the carkit, or tell us if you can browse the internet from the phone whilst its connected to the carkit?
Punctuation good enough there Dark?! (JOKE!!)
IT is a Nokia CK15-w Bluetooth Car kit Here is a link to it. http://www.nokiausa.com/A4431279
Also I can surf the internet while it is connected to the bluetooth.
Looks like that model supports:
Hands-free Profile 1.5, Phonebook Access Profile 1.0
(Source: Nokia Europe
The Kaiser supports:
File Transfer Profile, SIM Access Profile (rSAP), Dial-Up Networking Profile, Personal Area Networking Profile, Hands-Free Profile 1.5, Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (I'm guessing A2DP)
(Source: www.theunwired.net
So I'm guessing that whilst it will work as a glorified headset, you have no chance of getting your contacts downloaded! Should be able to get them from your SIM, just not the main memory. Wonder why Nokia removed the rSAP profile? It was on their 610 (rSAP only) 616 (rSAP and Handsfree) then from the 810 and CK-15 it seems to be handsfree only. This could be why so many are having problems with Nokia carkits, Nokia went and changed the supported bluetooth profiles. Funny, I would have thought the newer the model, the more it would have done, but I guess not! Glad I looked into this as I was thinking about 'upgrading' to the 810 for the full handset, guess I won't be now!
I am getting confused, I downloaded the jetstream program to the phone and was able to download the contact list no problem. The problem i am having is when i make a call from the nokia bluetooth when I am done and hit the endcall button on the nokia it does not end the call, I have to pull out the phone and hit the end button on the phone itself. any suggestions on how to correct this.

So downloading contacts isn't your problem, hanging up whilst having jetware installed is? Better post would have been something along the lines of:
"I'm having trouble ending calls on my Kaiser using the end button on my Nokia CK-15 carkit. I installed the Jetware program to enable downloading contacts, but this stops the end key working on the Kaiser, before this it was working fine just the carkit couldn't download contacts. Does anyone know of any settings in Jetware I can try, that would restore the end key function, or other software that would still enable me to download contacts and have and end key?" - That might have got you an answer sooner...
Right, the phone as it comes doesn't support phonebook access, thus you won't be able to download your contacts. Actually, none of the Nokia bluetooth carkits support downloading contacts from the internal memory of a Windows Mobile device, probably because no Nokia uses Windows Mobile (yet).
You add something like Jetware which gives you the ability to access the phonebook, but then you are unable to end a call via the carkit. My best guess is Jetware does something which interupts the commands from the carkit. I'm also guessing your stuck with either having contacts download or and end call option. Add Jetware back and play with it's settings. You may get lucky. However bluetooth is very buggy and the only way to get 2 devices to work perfectly with eachother without running the risk of having to fiddle or loose something is to buy them from the same manufacturer and check they are fully compatible with eachother. Two devices from 2 manufacturers don't always work.
Here are some examples:
Old Ericsson headset, will work perfectly with my old HTC phone and can't even be seen by my Kaiser. Slightly newer one (that has an LCD for caller ID) will work once connected until I switch it off, then requires the old HTC phone to be soft reset before it will connect again. Works perfectly with the Kaiser. Brand new, cheapy Motorola headset does what it feels like with no consistency on my older HTC, again works perfectly on the Kaiser. My Nokia 610 carkit will connect to both phones, but whilst the older phone needs to be soft reset before turning off the ignition (otherwise the phone part of things crashes), the Kaiser will connect and disconnect just as Nokia intend. The carkit will only download SIM contacts. The fix posted above isn't really a fix, it's fooling the carkit into thinking that another phone (the Nokia N95) is the kaiser, downloading the contacts from it and then reconnecting the real Kaiser. Not a fix, but a brilliant workaround.
Also noticed that the CK-15 uses bluetooth version 1.2, the Kaiser bluetooth version 2. This might be something to do with it.
In short, I think you will have to live with either a phonebook, or an end function. Welcome to the wonderful world of bluetooth. It also doesn't help that Nokia hasa a history of making devices which don't work with anything other than another Nokia device...
Is there any way to change the kaiser to use bluetooth 1.2. Also is there a way to contact jetware besides email as they dont reply.
In your reply you state thAT Nokia devices csnt download from internal memory of kaiser phone, how can i set it up to download from the sim is there a way.

I seriously doubt anyone will be writing a bluetooth stack v1.2 for the Kaiser anytime soon. I also have a feeling that the versions are hardware, not software related, so its impossible. I think you may have to accept that the Kaiser and Nokia will never play nicely. Why don't you install Jetware, sync your contacts, then either disable it (I'm sure I remember an option in the settings when I tried it previously) or just delete the program? You could keep the installer cab on your device somewhere as its only 500kb for when you need to reinstall it?
If there isn't a phone number on the jetware homepage, I'm betting you can't call them. But I did notice there is an advanced set-up options menu. Did you try unchecking all the boxes apart from phonebooks? If the "hang-up/swap to incomming call" option is unchecked, Jetware should pass that command to the phones standard bluetooth software and give you back your end key. From the Jetware site:
"When this option is unchecked the Extension will allow hang up commands to be processed by the built-in code, which will disconnect all active voice calls."
If it's currently checked, try unchecking it.

Have you read the manual? In my 610 manual, it tells me I can choose to dowload phone, SIM, or phone and SIM memory. Does yours?
Now it seems that call waiting is not working in the bluetooth unit, itried the settings both ways in jetware but still no go. any ideas

Well, since you asked, it should be 'it's', not 'its'.
Well at least in my eyes anyway... I have almost the perfect setup for me running Sleuth's 3.0 WWE Rom and radio 1.64.08.21 with MSVC 1.6 and if I could just get it to do two more things it would be perfect. Crazy thing happened today, so I know the first wish must be able to be achieved. I'm sitting in the airport waiting for a flight watching my mobile slingbox with the audio coming out of the internal speaker and I have my bluetooth headset on waitng for calls to come in. Sure enough a call comes in and MSVC starts to announce the caller, but also starts playing the audio from my slingbox. "What I say how is this possible?" I'm just using a cheap Jabra headset that I got from Verizon as a matter of fast it says Verizon on it and not Jabra. The headset works perfectly with MSVC 1.6 announcing callers and everything else, but I didn't think it was possible for it to allow audio from music or streaming video such as mobile slingbox. Well it did during that incoming call, so does this mean it is possible to listen to audio through this bluetooth headset? If anyone knows what I need to do to be able to listen to music and streaming video/audio please let me know. That is wish #1.
Wish #2 is the ability to use a app. that will allow me to respond to text messages via voice, I guess some type of speech to text app. that I can speak into my bluetooth headset and it will type out the words to respond. I've found it very difficult to respond to my text messages traveling 80mph down the road and I also don't think it is very safe. So I'm not sure if wish#2 is possible, but I thought I would come here and ask.
So that being said the two above wishes would complete the coolest device that I have ever owned in my 42 years of life. If you can help a old man's wishes come true please let me know.
Thanks in advance,
JMan

The only time I get the error you got is when my headset isn't turned on and linked to the phone. Remember also that the toggle is a toggle, the connection breaks when something else interrupts the audio, like a phone call. You must toggle it off then back on (or use BTaudioOn).

I don't know of a speech-to-text program specifically but I would not say it isn't possible. Cyberon and MS both have speech recognition in their Voice Command products. I also have Windows Live that allows me to speak a location to get directions.
All of these apps run on TYTNII and do not require voice training to work. They are not perfect, but they do work. Hence, it should be possible to do what you ask. But no one has done it yet?
I just recently bought a new stereo bluetooth headset (dell BH200) which sounds great when I play music through it, but it comes with a gigantic flaw. I can't make or recieve calls. The moment any of that happens, the headset disconnects itself. I'm wondering what the problem is since the headset does support 2.0 with EDR and so does the fuze. One thing I did noticed though was that when I paired the headset, it did not ask for a passkey at all and just went straight to "save".
I'm wondering if there is anything that I can do to make the headset work with phone if anyone has any idea. I was lurking around and someone mentioned something about CoD (class of device) but I dont think that's the issue.
Thankyou for your time reading this post.

mmm me thinks that it may not have paired correctly. I don't actually know much about the model you have. I have a Iclip R32 which I have had paired with most of my phones. It always asks for the passkey. I have always, once paired, made a call to my phone while the headset is connected. Not sure if it is related to my device or not but if I do not do this it will do weird things when I listen to music and receive calls. Sorry if this has not been of much help to you.
Bottom line: I would delete the pairing and do it again.
if you're not sure which bt headset it is, it's up on the dell website. Let me snag a link for you real quick. The problem is it only does half the function i want it to which is aggravating.

that's the headset I got. The thing that strikes me as odd is that I couldn't enter a passkey nor is there an option for me to force to provide a passkey like vista. I heard rumors about the bluetooth stack automatically assuming passkeys for "unsafe" devices like headsets and all that. If anything should I consider getting a different bt stack? Mm I checked them with the link you sent thanks for that.
Maybe my headset is getting old but it always asks for a passkey when I connect it. My Touch Pro did just like my Kaiser and Hermes. Sorry but maybe you will need to check with Dell. They do not mention any thing but I'm assuming that they have a microphone for phone calls....
edit: Doh I just read the 2nd page of reviews and it does have a mic. Sorry should of checked that before.
Well since your touch pro most probably runs wm6.1, i doubt it's because your headset is old. I wonder if there's a way to disable this automatic passkey guessing thing.
Anyone? any ideas on how to disable the automatic pin number guessing feature of wm6.1?

So what do you guys think?
Would it be a good idea to use a different bt stack or am I stuck with no choice at all?

hi i'm trying to pair my bluetooth headset (Samsung WEP200) but everytime i put the pin number (that is given by the bluetooth headset) it always said "Your Device did not connect with Samsung WEP200. The connection Failed or the passcode is incorrect".
how to install the hotfix (the hot fix from HTC website) on my HTC Touch Pro? everytime i copy the .exe file into my device, and run it, i always got an error box. Incorrect Device, "Please use the correct Device to Install This Hotfix program!" i don't know how it happen, i download this from HTC support page. i select the phone (HTC Touch Pro) and in the "Software Download" tab it show that there are 3 available download, the Hotfix, the Rom and Application.
i really need help....... pls, someone that have the same proble with their HTC Touch Pro bluetooth connection.....

has anyone with a bluetooth handsfree kit having problems dialing out with it?
I have a Pioneer Nav deck in my car and while bluetooth handsfree works, I cannot use the deck to dial any numbers? The deck looks like it's trying to dial the number, but the phone doesn't respond. However, I can dial from the phone and converse over bluetooth... The deck says it's connected and shows the carrier information on the screen, but can't get the phone to dial any numbers.
I've done some testing and it looks like if the phone goes to sleep, bluetooth doesn't wake it up.
I'm using the latest voguimg-240x320-04-03-10.nbh.
I thought DZO fixed something in the latest version regarding bluetooth falling asleep when the phone locks, but if you have the latest nbh I guess that's not it.
I have a Ford with Sync, and it is able to dial out contacts but I haven't tried direct dial. It uses voice dialer though, I don't know if that matters... I'll try dialing a # directly and let you know if I can.

Have you done the a2dp hack where you had to go into some file in the root area and add 4000000 to a line or something like that?
Also, when you are in the car, is the phone plugged in?

Your Ford Sync has A2DP profile on the deck to stream music from the phone right? Mine doesn't, it just has the phone capability I wonder if that's another factor to consider.

Well I don't know if the AD2P hack will make a difference - try it but mine worked before I did the hack - only the music wouldn't play properly. It still isn't perfect but now music does play. Yes the Sync plays streaming bluetooth media.

It's still not working after the hack. What I've also found out that even after I unlock the phone, the deck still cannot get the phone to make a call. However, if I phone a contact from the phone, hang up, then use the deck to call another contact it will work. Then when the phone locks, I'm back to square one again. it seems like something is happening when the phone locks.

I've experienced a lot of weirdness like that too.. Personally my initial connection is the hardest part like when I get in the car in the morning or home from work.. i always have to reset bluetooth to make it work.
DZO has DEFINITELY improved bluetooth support, and it's pretty good but it's not quite complete yet. I'm just being patient and hoping for the best

Yeah, there's no doubt DZO has done a great job with Android. I hope he keeps up the good work!
