Auto popup Keyboard in SMS/Mail, Batteryalarm - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

Hi All,
I have a question. Every time I open a SMS/Mail the keyboard pops up automaticly while most of the times I only want to read the message.
It is making the screen smaller and it takes time.
Is there a way to solve it?
Further I did not find a way to have an audio/acoustical alarm when the battery is finished so in a call the phone will switch of at once and immediately without warning.
Do I miss some settings or .......
Thanks in advance for help, Remco

When you get the message...instead of opening it there...click on the inbox in the lower left area of screen and that will open it up without the keyboard...when you click on it in the envelope or sms screen...it opens it because it thinks you want to reply straight away.
Battery alarm??...dont think there is one to be honest. I havent seen anything in the notifications or alarm section of the phone...Shame really as it would have been useful to have some sort of alarm going off when the battery gets low or is about to die.

same thing here the keyboard pops up automaticly when opening message ?!
click on the inbox in the lower left area
cant find it ?
do you mean the notifications when new message comeup

yeah i also find it really annoying that the keyboard pops up automatically everywhere.
it was not like this on my old Wizard with WM5.
i looked around in the options but cant find anyway to not make the keyboard pop up automatically yet.

It's because you have no Hardware Keyboard, and as the OS assumes you want to reply, it's helping you out. You'd probaly find theres a bunch of people who love this feature as much as you hate it
Rory

lol
Why dont you just read it in TF3D? bt yeah as for the the battery sound you can go into sound & notifications and select to enable sound for 'Events' thats the best i can think of atm.

I also find it frustrating with the keyboard.
Can this be set with a registry key to not have it pop up.
If i need the keyboard I can klick down in the middle of the screen to bring it up.

Nope there is no solution to this problem. There will never be a solution to this problem.
DONT try and search this forum for a solution to this problem because searching for a solution to this problem will not find a single solution to this problem.
There IS NOT a cab installer available to fix this, just as there is NO registry entries available in this forum to solve this problem
There has in fact NOT been 3 Topics in the last week that have solved this same problem.
I suggest starting a few more new topics in the forum asking for solutions to this problem.
Sorry for the sarcasm but jeez how many times must the same question be asked in the same forum in the same week!!!!

Annoying SMS Problem!

I had this problem on my 8525 after flashing one of many ROM's and now have it on my Tilt with stock ROM. When sending a new sms or replying to one, the screen defaults below the address part onto the bottom of the text portion of the screen. I know this is a reg hack that is needed, but for the life of me I can not find it in a search. This was a common problem on the 8525's after a certain ROM upgrade if anyone remembers.
you mean where it cuts off the person's info you are replying to?
Yeah its annoying!
Doesn't cut it out, but when you open the window to reply, it defaults to only showing the text area, and uses the bottom part of the screen as the point that it sets to show. Thus, the top part of the text reply window is off the screen.
And yes, it is very annoying. I gotta find the reg hack to fix this!
As I recall it happens when the reg is set to use the right and left nav buttons to page down when using IE, it causes the sms to open at the bottom of the screen and you have to scroll back.
This question was asked by another Kaiser user.....guess you guys have all been busy flashing ROMs
The answer IS a reg hack, and here's a link to the reply I posted - the OP hasn't responded to say whether the problem is now cured, but if it's the same issue I experienced on my Hermes, the above answer will work.
Post back....I'd like to know if it works (I'll be getting my Kaiser next month, so this will be something to add to the "Tips and Tricks" document I'm compiling from everyone else's posts )
Cheers,
Mark.
My reg value is already set to 1 in this file. So, only option, set to 0 and lets see what happens!
Was just skimming through some threads and stumbled upon this. That problem was driving me crazy but i hadn't gotten to the point of searching for a solution yet.
This worked for me on my Hermes.
Thanks ^_^

Are you referring to the hack listed in the response above? Because on the Tytn II this value is already set as stated in that thread.
No this is not the same issue the Hermes had when you set the D pad to scroll in IE that issue was the "text curser" would be all the way at the bottom of a screen no matter what cutting off half of emails and what ever else text was sent to you. there is nothing to fix this issue as of now. BUT when I compose a new SMS it ALWAYS starts at the address line not sure why your don't

Messages open at the bottom!?

Anyone else got this... Every time i open a message it seems to default to the bottom of the message... i.e. a blank screen. So I have to scroll up to the top of every message i get!
How do i fix this!? its really annoying!
I have the same problem... I think it is rom specific though... I am using WM6.1...Sleuth V3
It's a registry hack issue. Install Kaiser Tweaks and disable the D-Pad scrolling.
If you are using Kaisertweak, make sure you have the D-Pad Scroll Navigation set to default.
fantastic - thanks
when i installed KaiserTweak i basically just put everything onto it's advised setting
Which option is it? I cant find it in KaiserTweak.

In KaiserTweak Collapse all the trees one by one until you get all the way down to PocketIE. In there set D-Pad Scroll Navigation back to Disabled.
AFAIK, this is not a registry problem. in fact all you have to do is to choose the way your messages are arranged
at the right upper corner of the messages application (right below the clock) there is a tab that arranges your message by: Message Type, From, Received, Subject
normally it's ticked to received, but if you hit Received again you will see your messages arranged from the older one you got and the newest is at the bottom... all you have to do is to hit Received again.. And you're done

Hi Guys, Thanks alot. that was really starting to bug me, and I had the feeling that the only way to return it to "normal" would be to hard reset, so just deseleting the D Pad in the Tweak and soft resetting has saved me alot of trouble.

Hey guys,
I'm experiencing the same thing with a Helmi AKU 3.5 ROM that I've put on my Universal. I know that KaiserTweak is for the....Kaiser, but I was wondering if anyone knew exactly which registry hack to change to "disable DPad scrolling". I read in one of these posts that it was under the PocketIE settings, and I do know that my PocketIE has been hacked to support "high resolution mode", so maybe this is what is causing my issue (although I've found nothing about the setting in IE itself).
If anyone can enlighten me (probably with a Registry setting), even if you've already 'fixed' your Kaiser, I would appreciate it immensely, as this small issue is slowly driving me nuts!
Thanks in advance all,

SMS Notification periodic

Hello,
Before my Diamond I had a Motorola v3 Razr. The Razr did give a sms notification every minute or so. When I received a sms, it gives notifications until i read the SMS. The Diamond only flashes the led light. Is it possible to let the Diamond vibrate every 3 minutes or so when there is an unread SMS?
Thnx in advance
Anybody an idear?
settings/personal/sound and notifications/sound (events and notifications on)
settings/personal/sound and notifications/notifications (go look for mms/sms, check "play sound", check "display message on screen", check "vibrate" or choose any combination).
now say thank you and go ...RTFM! (Read The F... Manual) before you post.
i also recommend a search on the forum. don't be lazy...

A bit rude and not even an answer for his question......
He is looking for REPEATED notifications......something SPBPhoneSuite can do for example. There may be other programs out there for the same purpose, don´t know of any freeware, though....

1. sorry you think so. don't get it ...what's rude? my 2 last recommendations?
2. the notification stays on the screen until you dismiss it, so why repeat? as a matter of fact i am not so sure it is not repeating...
i do know for sure that reminders do repeat so i can guess that all notifications are repeating.
i think he is looking for repeated sound notifications.
I'm very sorry when i offended some of you with my question, but the last post sums it all up. I'm looking for a repeating sound/vibration notification. I will try SPBPhoneSuite, but i'm not font on installing an whole " heavy" program for such small things. So when there is an alternative...please let me know

I did a freeware solution - DmsisAlert
Hi, i did a simple application that works on Windows Mobile 5 or superior (.Net CF 3.5 is a requirement).
To download go to DmsisAlert page and click on DmsisAlert link, unzip, tranfer the .cab file and install. If you like (or not), i will appreciate some feedback (you can do that on download page).
With Diamond is a good idea not to use the minimize functionality because after that there is no way to get interface back (allthough it still running on the background). I will work on a solution for that (i'm busy enjoying my new phone ).
hope that can help, helps me a lot

Dude, try Best Reminder:
http://best-reminder.en.softonic.com/pocketpc
It ain't freeware, but its light and does the job perfectly every time.
I did use SPB phonesuite before, and I found it heavy with other features I don't need. Also, the damn thing didn't work at times!
try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=405071&highlight=sms+reminder+vibrate
and free, always check the 'Development and Hacking' forum
@dmoreira: What requirement can that be? I have an stock diamond, with latest romupdate en .Net CF 3.5?
@MasK: That's i very nice program. I tested it, and it does the job except for the vibrating!
@badaas: That's another very nice program. I also tested this one and it works perfect. Except that it turns on the screen with every reminder... And you have to reboot the device to configurate it again...

Ok it works just fine! Very nice program! But if i can say 3 things about it:
- The minimize function still doesn't work to well
- You cannot delete the program via the "delete programs" way
- I really like the phone to not only notify me via sound, but also via vibration? Is this possible?
thnx!

before anything thanks for trying my work... about your comments:
"- The minimize function still doesn't work to well" : You're correct, but in others devices without TouchFlo3D the minimize works a lot better. With TouchFlo3D this feature practically doen'st work (i believe that's the same for other applications that have a minimize function that puts an Icon in the Today Screen).
"- You cannot delete the program via the "delete programs" way": A fix for that will be available very soon
"- I really like the phone to not only notify me via sound, but also via vibration? Is this possible?": It's possible but i dont like the result of doing this with the easiest way, so this feature will be available not so soon (but i will adivise here when so).
I will make some changes and post here a new version with some improvements.
Thanks again for trying.

I like testing this program, because it meets almost my exact criteria for such a program! Nice work!
- That minimize function is a pity, but understandable with the TF3D thing!
- Ok if you can fix that 'delete programs' issue, that would be very nice. I don't have a clue how i can properly delete it now!
- I will wait on a fix for the vibrating! That would be very nice!
Keep up the good work!
Thnx!

Hi Rik_X, after a lot of work (i posted the issue in different forums, but got no answer) trying finding a correct solution to uninstall and i ended downloading SkTools (i downloaded from here http://www.clickapps.com/download.htm?pvid=1324) and use a feature called Installed Programs and then Dmsis Alert was listed and i was able to uninstall it!! After that i install the version attached here and then the Dmsis Alert will appear again in the Windows Mobile Remove Program list. Sorry about the troubles that error could cause you.
Anyway i'm posting the last version the doesn't have this uninstall issue. I'm also working on the vibrate feature (still looking a direct interop way to do that).

Still getting SMS Sent Notification

Hello everyone, I've googled the hell out of the problem i'm having with my phone and I'm still coming up with no luck. I've reg hacked the bejesus out of my phone, using KaiserTweak and AdvancedConfig. After installing Rumball's UI/themes (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2326335&postcount=28) I noticed that I'm still getting SMS sent notification, both icon, bubble, and sound. In KT or AC, I can look into the messaging section and see that I'm set to disabled...yet even after a soft reset i still get the notification.
Can anyone lead me in the right direction? I know a hard reset would handle the problem, but after 4 hours of tweaking to get match that setup, I'm hesitant to do that.
If a fix to this this is posted in another thread, please help me with posting the search string you used to find it so I avoid making redundant noob posts in the future. Thank you!

I had this exact problem a few days ago but I dont know whether the solution will be the same. I had gone into advanced config to change my settings but the panorama setting for the camera can only be found in the
Try the following:
1. Run advanced config and go into the Messaging tab making sure Sent Notification and Delivery Notification are Disabled and then click done.
2. Now run your kaisertweak program and goto the Text Messages section making sure Sent Notification is Disabled and then close it.
3. Now goto your sms inbox and click on a txt message to open it. Click Menu at the bottom and select Message options making sure Delivery Notification is unticked.
If none of those steps fix it then try uninstalling Rumball's UI/themes.
If all those steps have been checked and ur still getting a delivery notification then I dont knnow what it is.

SMS - 2-5 seconds to load cursor, slow input from keyboard

Anyone have the problem where when you select a contact and then text it takes 2-5 seconds to load the screen with the cursor? And the cursor itself is pretty slow to get input from the keyboard.
I'm pretty sure my keyboard itself needs cleaning as I've seen in other threads. However in Win 6.1 and now 6.5 with autocomplete of sentences on or off I still see the huge delay before I can type. Something feels wrong about this, anyone else experience this and have any advice?
usually turning off any autocomplete or t9 should speed up typing delay
well - stuff like that happens in Windows Mobile
theres a registry cab file somewhere here that fixes this.. do a search
Hmm yeah I have text correction set to None so no prediction or sugesstion.
I'm running windows mobile 6.5 is there anywhere else I could go.
Just counted now and from the time the screen acknowledge my click on text to the white screen and cursor loading is 7 seconds. My god windows mobile grrrr!
Everything else on the phone is pretty fast but wow 7 seconds!
royalbloodvi - I replied this morning before seeing your reply.
I've looked for cabs, registry tweak etc searching here and on google and I haven't had any luck. I've tried w/o quotes stuff like "SMS slow registry tweak" "txt slow" etc etc but no luck any pointers?

I don't know if it's going to work for You mate, but worked like a charm on my tytn 2 back in the past.
Hey, not sure if you tried this, but there's also a cab, or registry hack which disables the text "counter" in sms which also decreases the delay.
Here's there XDA thread which links to the original posting at ppcgeeks:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=581901
I have it cooked into my rom and it does help. I don't even miss the counter cause everyone I know either has unlimited text, or doesn't text at all.
Also, whenever you want to send a text make sure your Xperia is in landscape before going into the sms program or hitting reply. It helps a bit there too.
hope all that helps.
peace

yea thats the one..
Thanks I ran the cab and followed the directions about thread_sms.htm
All I saw in thread_sms.htm was <Inbox:ComposeBodyCount> which I assume is not the count of characters and my unexperia rom already removed that.
Having it in landscape mode prior to clicking someone's name definitely helps although first time I do it there's still some 5 secs or so of delay. But if I go back to another contact there's none. I'll keep playing a bit but thanks much better.
Day by day I will actually make my phone usable!
Edit: Also it's great how original X1 users have to wait and use cooked roms to get features from X2 to actually make the X1 "ok"
