Hello!
Using the TytnII with MK6100 - I'm experiencing frequent disconnections between the phone and Parrot handsfree unit. The disconnection never happens while in a call, only when phone is idle.
TytnII ROM Build: 19209.1.0.2 WWE
Radio: 1.65.14.06
Protocol: 25.81.40.02H
Parrot version: Latest
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Many handsfree units "sleep" after a certain amount of time (power save), i usually have to reconnect/wake up mine when i want to use it, by pressing the call button on it.

Hugot : what is your Bluetooth stack Version? Is your Sony car kit Hands free or Headset? Can you please post the following Rom Date, Radio Version, Protocal Version. Where did you get the rom upgrade from & what device are you using?
Guest what are the sme things on your device that I asked Hugot? If you are using the latest rom version from Imate then you are using the headset version of the Parrot CK3100. Parrot CK3100 works both Hands Free & Headset. What is your version of the Parrot CK3100? To find that out go to settings, Advanced settings on the Parrot & click on About . This will tell you what version Parrot you have.
Hey Jerry,
i'm using ther Parrot CK3300 with no problems apart for dialling from the parrot unit.
The rom on the Imate PDA2K is 1.22.00 WWE.
The Rom on the Parrot is the lastet Rom Version 4.10.
I get evething showing on the parrot display Network Signal caller id it work great>
I only which that it could dial from the parrot unit.

To dial from the Parrot you must have this as your phone #"15554445678"
I had to change all my telephone numbers to this format to work. If you have 1 (555)-444-5678 this will not work from the Parrot . Use the top & it will work, I guarantee it 100%. This was on there forum several months ago before they changed there format on the forum. Remember no dashes or ( ) in the telephone number & country code in format 1 for the USA. Go for it.
Hi jerrycans
i previouly posted as guest
The parrot 3100 version is 4.05
i am 99% sure that is is connected as Handsfree, as i it stays connected all the time, where as on the XDA2 it only connect upon incomming call and the screen says 'Headset'
Whereas on the pda2k as i say connected constantly, says 'network ok' on the screen, i can dial out via the parrot, but contacts are not available!
as for the imate it is the latest rom from club imate
ROM ver: 1.22.00 WWE
ROM date: 10/22/04
Radio Ver: 1.06.00
Protocol ver: 1337.38
ExtROM: 1.22.162 WWE

HI Searly: To dial by the parrot use this setup: 15554445678 for the phone number. after you Parrot is paired disconnect the Parrotin sttings. Go to contacts, Highlight as many as you can, right click on the highlighted contacts & pick send by Bluetooth. .it will search for the Parrot ,& fibd it ,click ok & send, do this until all your contacts are sent.. Reconnect the Parrot & you can dial from the Parrot. Parrot just came out with a new ypgrade I will have to flash mine to the latest revision. I wrote to Widcomm & they know that this is a known issue.
Hi
i have just upgraded to the latest parrot firmware, little difference, i think most of the changes relate to other handsets
i did figure out the problem with contacts, i was using 'beam' this does not work!
i use pocket informant, and selecting the contacts, then goto extra 'send via bluetooth' this automatically kills the handsfree conection sends the contacts the reconnects
caller ID all works well, but the phone numbers have to be entered without spaces etc
all in all i am quite please, certainly glad i upgraded from the imate ppc!

I also have the parrot ck3100, but I don't need anything of what you say.
But I am not able to see, the covering, neither the operator??.
Another thing, you get him to be linked alone when enter to the car. Is this, the BT on, then turn on the car, and its connects directly to the pda ?¿?¿.
Greetings
MA
Hey Jerry,
thanls for you help but I have tryed as you said but it still does not work.
I had a look at my pda and notice that I could not dial from the keyboard also.
Then I tryed something I hard rest my Imate PDA 2K and tryed it, it all works fine. So I reinstalled all my software one at a time, took me ages.
Find out the the software that was causing the problem was the intellidialler.
I do not known if anybody else has the same problem but if you have not install the intellidialler do not install it it cause problems with the Parrot bluetooth and stop you dialling from the keyboard.
Hope this information well help someone.
Cheers

Hi
I have recently upgraded the ROM in my XDA 2i to the following versions:
ROM Version: 1.11.00 WWE
ROM Date: 01/27/05
Radio Version: 1.00.00
Protocol Version: 1337.39
ExtROM Version: 1.11.171 WWE
However, with this new ROM my GPS unit no linger functions correctly - the speaker on the XDA 2i becomes disabled and it recognizes the wired GPS unit as a full hands free unit which means that it also tries to connect to activesync which disrupts TomTom. I want to downgrade to the following ROM version:
ROM Version: 1.10.00 WWE
ROM Date: 12/24/04
Radio Version: 1.00.00
Protocol Version: 1337.39
ExtROM Version: (blank)
In other words the original ROM which the 2i was originally shipped with. Does anyone know where i can get this from?
Any help would be greatly appreciated as O2 have said: "We do not support any devices accessories for the XDA 2i and recommend that you contact the manufacturer" so at the moment i am stuck with a very unreliable XDA 2i which i am unable to use
Thanks
Similar Problem
I too have had the upgrade to 1.11.00 WWE installed on my XDAIIi and now cannot connect to the TOMTOM wired GPS device - i am going to try with a Bluetooth device tonight however I dont want to spend another 70 pounds on more hardware.
If someone has a copy of the previous ROM that would be great.
IMPORTANT UPDATE
I have noticed on the TOMTOM website that the Wired GPS device is not Supported by O2 XDA devices - not sure when this changed.
Link to TomTom supported devices on Wired GPS http://www.tomtom.com/products/features.php?ID=100
however the TomTom Bluetooth is still listed as supported by XDA.
I have just loaded the Pug ROM for O2 devices with radio 1.04 ftp://xda:[email protected]_v1.11.162_Radio_1.04_Camera_Fixed.rar
and will be able to advise whether this fixes it tomorrow. Keep an eye on this page
next update
OK so the Pug Rom does not enable the wired GPS reciever. - damn i am going to give a BT GPS device ago tonight. - i have a feeling if we installed version 3.x of navigator then upgrade to 5.x it may work as that is what i did orginially.
I use a wired Haicom HI-204E GPS receiver. and have had no trouble using several ROMs.
Originally my receiver was connected via cheap plugin charger with a ps2 socket for my GPS. Have my XDA2i sat in a TomTom cradle now with an adapter patch lead I made to connect receiver (RJ-11 to PS2f )
Been using PUGs Alpine_Ext-1.11.162_Radio-1.04_O2stuffstripped_Camera_Fixed
since mid Feb. 2006
GPS setup in TT as Other Cable NMEA GPS
TT version info
PocketPC device
App version 5.100 (5160)
Free RAM 40.2 mb
GPS driver v1.20
Map: Great-Britain-Map v562
Good luck
i havn't had any problems with any of the upgrades and i use a wired gps as well

I've fixed this problem by turning off the infrared beam in the settings, connections menu. Voila TomTom wired GPS working fine now using version 3.07 Tomtom with GPS 3.07 upgrade. Hope it helps all you others with similar problem after upgrade ?
i hope it does not work as I have just paid for a BT GPS reciever on E-bay and sold my wired one!! thanks to everyone who has conrributed to this thread.
Hi,
Have installed BT A2DP patch and seams to work for my keyboard (Thinkoutside) and ActiveSync plus my GPS (Navman BT). I will now think about getting a stereo headphone set something like Motorola H820 or Blueant X5.
However it seams I can only connect BT devices if the radio is on. There are times when I want the phone off but still be able to use BT.
Is there a setting I am missing or is this how the driver works.
Thanking in advance.
Gordon
Gordon,
it's just one of those interesting quirks - you need the phone on for BT (or wireless LAN) to be on.
Phil
You still may leave screen off. A2DP does not work again after power off. Usual handsfree profile works ok, when incoming call has been made.
where can I find BT A2DP for my alpine?
is there a link somewhere I can't see?, and, then, anyone know some installer/upgrade to go from 1.11.162 WWE to v1.11.171 WWE? I'm going mad to pair the Fortuna clip-on with my Alpine, and seems it doesn't work 'cause BT version on the fortuna is 1.1, on the Alpine is 1.0.0.3900. Is this correct?
thanx everyone, cya
Toobalz;
I'm having the same problem with my O2 BT clip on. I can't pair it with XDAIIi, but it works fine with XDAmini and XDAII.
Does anyone know why???
Cheers;

hey, everyone...I've solved my problems buying a tomtom...I know, it's a defeat, but I've to work faster....
And, for everyone who has an Alpine, I've discovered the TomTomOne car charger is identical, for voltage, polarity and amperage to a its normal AC adapter:
5V . 2A . (+)-o)(-); naturally, you've to unplug the plug from the Ac adapter and to plug it to the car charger.
In sintesi, if you've an Alpine, and buy a TomTomOne,don't you buy the car charger for the Alpine.
Hope so find this usefull, cya
I have a Wizard (Cingular 8125) and a Jabra BT500 bluetooth headset. They paired up okay and I can answer and end calls with my Jabra BT500.
However, tapping / pressing the correct button on my Jabra BT500 does not open the phone voice dialing. In fact, nothing happens when I press the button on the Jabra even though the two devices are paired. Pressing the button multiple times does nothing either.
Anyone have any ideas whether this is a problem with my 8125 or my Jabra BT500? If so, are there any solutions? If not, are there other bluetooth headsets that seem to work correctly. Jabra told me this was common and there is no fix!

Radio Version: 02.25.11

From the HTC website I believe this is the most current ROM version.
Thanks for your help.[/b]
Re: Wizard (Cingular 8125)&Jabra BT500-can't initiate vo
I had this same problem. I went through every jabra headset out there to test and see how I liked them. Anyways -- i couldnt get voice command nor voice dialing to work with the BT500. Take it back and get the JX10

Thanks, I'll try a JX10. Funny thing though, I've got a friend with this same phone on T-Mobile instead of Cingular and a Jabra BT500 and it works! Also, I tried my wife's plain vanilla Motorola H500 and it works fine. Very strange.
MY Jabra BT500 works fine with my 8125. I've hacked the registry to use MS Voice Command instead of the Cyberon Cheezy voice tag dialer.
I've even successfully used Cyberon Voice Commander 1.6 with the BT500.
Yes, activation on button press....
Hi kyphur - for a novice can you give me any instructions on how to do this?
I tried the Jabra JX10 and, unlike my BT500, it seems to work perfectly. I really don't understand why my BT 500 won't work.
Thanks
My previous phone HTC TyTN (Hermes) worked perfectly well with my car OEM Bluetooth HF (BMW X3 '05) using varios ROMs and Radios, starting from the original VM5 to many cooked VM6 editions which I tried.
Now I purchased a brand new HTC TyTN II (Kaiser), which seems to have serious problems with the car Bluetooth. It pairs ok, but immediately when the actual bluetooth communication starts, the phone always reboots itself.
I have made a log of the communication using JETware Hands-free Extension. In the attached log you can find a row with strange character causing immediate reboot to the phone. The problem is not caused by Jetware, because the phone behaves exactly the same without Jetware.
From another forum I have found out that this seems to be a common problem also with another phone model which is T-Mobile Dash (HTC S620).

Any ideas how to sort this out? Which component on Kaiser should I start flashing upgrade/downgrade?

Kaiser ROM 1.56.414.2 Radio 1.27.14.04 Protocol 22.45.88.07H
Update to my situation, tried so far:
- Flashed Sleuth's V3.0 with Radio 1.64.08.21. The problems persists, phone pairs ok with BMW HF, but reboots itself immediately when actually connected.
- Tried to install Widcomm Bluetooth Stack which is duscussed in this thread, but could not get it really work in my Kaiser. After solving low memory issue by changing bitrate to 115200 it started, but it was not able to find any bluetooth devices at all.
I just wonder if this could be a hardware issue not solveable by any software updates? What could be fundamentaly so different between Hermes and Kaiser bluetooth implementations, that one works fluently and the other keeps rebooting itself even with different roms and radios (WM6.0 and WM6.1)?
What might be going so badly wrong in a bluetooth conversation that Kaiser decides to reboot? The AT-commands conversations starts just fine, but ends to a long string with odd characters. (please see the attached log file in my previous post).
Anyone, any ideas, please? I have done so much searching on this subject lately that I probably can no longer see any trees in the wood.
