Fring does not support BT Handfree - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

In case you are using Fring for VoIP call and want to use the BT Handfree handset, it does not work. I have logged a ticket to the Fring and here is the reply from them:
-------------------------------
Thank you for contacting our support team.
An option to route the calls to the earpiece or speakerphone is currently unavailable for WM handsets.
We are working hard on new versions for our application so please make sure you check our website regularly for updates.
Please feel free to contact us again, should you have any further queries.
Thank you,
Tom
fring Support
---------------------------------
Let's hope Fring can find a solution. Or if you have other program that can work with the handfree, please post it here.

Use BTAudio Toggle it should do the trick

I found the zip from this link:
http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/sams...luetooth-headset.html?perpage=20&pagenumber=1
It seeems to be pretty old. Does it work on WM6.1 on Diamond?

Native WM6 Voip client?

All,
I was wondering if the built in WM6 Voip client can be activated or be put in if it does not yet exist in the WM6 builds.....
Currently I use Fring for my Voip calls, but I would really like to use the built in client for better native support.
Other WM Voip clients are also welcome....
Cheers,
HJ
Had the same problem i thought that the built-in VoIP client ships with WM6 but it didn't find it on my TyTN II, you can download it from here
ftp://xda:[email protected]/WM6VoIP.CAB
you can find the SipCofigTool very nice utility to config VoIP

Hi Mrabie,
Are you still using VOIP? Please confirm if it used the standard dial pad and if it also uses the front speaker?
Cheers!
There's nothing for the Kaiser that uses the front speaker yet.
Do we know what this is? I assume you mean Voice Over IP (WM6 Built in) currently uses the loud speaker.
One would assume the normal phone speaker could be used (since my old Hermes could).
Hi Guys
I am using my company's VoIP service though my TyTn II. Everything is great! And the voice is came out from the ear speaker.
I installed the SIP Config Tool v. 2.0.1 and WM6VoIP.cab
Thank you

I can receive a call but not make one.
when trying to make a call ; I get the error "Network service is not available. Try again later."
sometimes it has worked....
Was working perfectly fine on my hermes (imate jasjam)

Great!
I have loaded the 2 cabs and have made some minor progress.
If i reboot the Tytn II is says connected for a moment then it goes to 'searching'. This is over the home wifi network.
When i first loaded the cabs and tried to initiate a call, it did show my voip provider in the dial pad, but now i cant replicate that to test it actually works.
What should i do?
Cheers
Edit: it now says 'available' om the today screen, but i cant get it to dial out using the voip connection. Note that i have not set up dial plans yet. but i think i have made good progress so far!

tap on the name , it needs to show as "selected".
let us know if it works for you.
I can only receive calls.
interestingly, nothing ever arrive on the voip server when i try to make a call; i run my own voip server (asterisk) , and no packet ever make it to the server from the windows mobile device...
warning, numbers must be numeric only, no + or # etc...
Do you mean to select it from the 'Today screen'
If that is what you mean, then when i click on it it takes me to the phone settings tab for internet calling.
Mind you, in that tab it states:
Internet Calling
To set the calling network for your next call, select BBPglobal (my Voip account) on the Today screen.
options: whenever available
Only if cellular is not available
Never
I have it set to whenever available and have also enabled GRS/GSM calls as per SIP config 2.01.
Whilst it now always shows that it is available, i dont see how else i can select it.
if you move the cursor in the today screen to go on the voip plugin, press OK (the button, not using the touch screen) you can change the status to "selected"
Forgot to add: your SIP server must support g711 (ulaw or alaw) codec... none of the low-bandwidth codec work

I move the today screen curser to highlight the voip plugin, but nothing happens when i hit OK or press the big silver button in the middle.
Regarding the SIP server sip2.BBPglobal.com does support g711. Well i was thinking that the phone simply makes a connection to the wireless router (Asus WL500gP running DD-WRT v23sp2) and that would be it. I could be wrong but i think this way simply because i replicated the SIP settings from my ATA (Linksys SPA2102).
Plus i would imaging that when using the VOIP over 3G that it connects with the same settings from the SipConfigTool1.02
Have i missed the boat somehow?
can you tell us which version of WM6VOIP.cab you are using - as in my version the sound comes out of the loudspeaker instead of the earspeaker?
any suggestions?
Would be also interresting for me.
I've tested 3 Types of VOIP software.
- Fring => Comes out of the loudspeaker
- Pocket Talk => Comes out of the loudspeaker
- Prop. WM6 => Could not connect.
Kind Regards
Seppl
I can use Fring/X-lite but the sound comes through the speaker. The WM6 native client can logon but not make any calls (same message as the poster above). I think I can receive calls though (but I have not tried).

Hi,
the first link is about Hermes?! I tried it, but it creates two today plugin...why?!
Is it possible that on the latest Kaiser native ROM some parts of WM&VoIP.CAP is already installed even if there is no Internet Tab under Pgone Settings?
Second: I had universal befor and a cooked rom, and when I clicked on the today plugin I could select or unselect voip for calling. With this cab instead, if I click on the today plugin, I enter into Start->Settings->Phone->Internet.
Third: I looked at ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Kaiser/VoIP/ and there is a SleuthKaiserVoIP.cab...what is it?? Maybe the WM6VoIP.cab versio for Kaiser?

How many versions are there?
Codec ???
What codecs are supported by the built in VOIP? Maybe the issue of not able to make a call could be codec related like in any other VOIP softwares.

Microsoft Voice Command V1.6.19971

I noticed that in the Diamond forum Dutty has embedded MSVC 1.6.19971 into his ROM.
Any ideas where I can find the installation CAB for this?

I'm using MSVC_US_PPC_1.6.19214 which is working fine. You can find this in one of the threads in Kaiser but I believe it was taken down for an unknown reason (the thread still exists but the first 5 message and topic title was deleted). The title was something like "The Definitive Guide to MSVC". You can still get it in google cache though

We removed the MSVC cab because it is a retail sold program, YES it was put into some official ROMs but after a LONG debate we decided to not allow it in cooked ROMs etc... just such a grey area we didnt want M$ finding another reason to have a go at xda-devs.
i had a feeling it will be taken out eventually, curiously though i was thinking why the guy was banned

Have you read post #3? MSVC is a retail sold program, if you want it please buy it.
Hey guys, on my fuze with the at&t rom, MSVC was included, now that i've upgraded to romeos rom and it's not included on his rom! i know that you guys are saying its a pay program, but i paid for it when i bought the fuze (as its included in the price).... and i really dont wanna pay for it again...
Does MSVC integrate and work with the fuze over bluetooth? I know that it needed several mods to work with both the 8525 and the Tilt.
Thanks
it worked perfectly with the at&t rom without any mods at all. and actually after i posted, i realized that i still had the copy that i had download from this site for my tilt. i installed it and it works perfectly once again

Does it announce incoming calls over the bluetooth headset? I can't get it to do that. My Tilt did it just fine and I have the Fuze VC set up exactly the same way as my Tilt, but all I get is my ringtone and no announcement.
Any ideas?

I'm sure this is a dumb question but did you double-check the settings? (Start -> Settings -> Personal -> Voice Command -> [Highlight Phone] -> Options -> Announce Incoming calls) and (Start -> Settings -> Personal -> Voice Command -> Notifications Button)

Yes. I wish it were that easy. As I said, all parameters are set up exactly like my Tilt which worked perfectly. With the Fuze, I only get my ringtone. Now, I know that the Fuze has a newer version of VC, so I may try to downgrade to the version that is on my Tilt.

I'm wondering the same thing. Stock Fuze had MSVC, and I flashed to the Elite ROM, and would like MSVC back. Is there any way to flash my Fuze back to stock rom, and pull the cab file out of it??
Unless you can tell me otherwise, the one that comes with the FUZE is defective. Partly... A few of us can't get it to say the incoming caller name or number. All you hear is a bell sound. I've gotten everything else to work like dialing from the headset, even where it says I have an appointment on my BT headset. Just for the announcement of whos calling doesnt work.
Do you have to have the handsset connect to juse VOice C`?
I pulled VC 1.6.19971 out of the AT&T Fuze ROM and included it in my personal ROM and I was able to enable "Announce incoming calls".
On my Nokia BH-501 headset, it begins to announce the call, but gets cut off by the built in headset ringtone. (I only use this stereo headset for music)
On my Oakley Razrwire it works just fine. With 'announce' turned off, the headset uses it's normal built-in ringtone. With 'announce' turned on, I get the VM announcement with my WM ringtone playing in the background (it opens an audio stream from the phone). I use this headset while driving, so it's all good.
Well well... depends on your MSVC-version. 1.6.4622 DOES NOT announce any incoming call regardless of the setting.
1.6.17913 does, 19209, 19213, 19214 does...
By the way: the ultimate FAQ was named The Definitive Guide for Microsoft Voice Command - I posted a backup in another thread.
anyhow, does anyone know the advantages of 1.6.19971 ? Does it report anonymous callers correctly (which none of the above does?)
And why is it that anyone wants to use newer versions without even knowing changes? Maybe it's a beta version, maybe it's buggy... but it's a newer release... using legal german retail (bought it) .4622 with 19209 exe for announcing reasons. Works brilliant on raphael.
But maybe someone knows a list of changes or fixes, advantages or disadvantages in 19971?
I would really like cyberon voice dial 1.2 to work on the fuze but when i press the bluetooth headset it does not work, i have searched but can't find what the reg edits need to be. thanks for any help one can provide me

As you may know skype will not longer support Windows Mobile and Windows Phone. I'm a heavy skype user and the service will be only supported to actual windows users just for the rest of this 2010.
FYI - here's the latest cab that skype released some months ago (this is the version that I personally use).

I hope that helps
I used fring on my Kaiser for skype support, might be worth looking at (link in my signature)
I use it on my Touch Pro as routes sound to telephone ear speaker.
Kaiser fring download: http://www.fring.com/download/proce...=HTC&mhandset_type=Tytn+2&email=Email+address
Happy I bumped into this, I am a fan of fring also, occasionally though I need to add a contact to skype or authorize a new contact. I haven't found a way to that with fring.
Thanks
Thanks for posting these replies.
I could not download the skype application with my phone. Rapid share wouldn't let me download it from my phone. And now has been downloaded too many times to try from a computer.
Fring worked great with skype the first day. But now has been blocked.
Any other ideas.
Jason

[Q] VOIP SIP G.729 audio codec

Hi there.
I need some help in finding a reliable client for VOIP supporting any SIP provider and also G.729(a)(b)audio codecs.
A good app is SipDroid but does not have G.729 integrated.
Another alternative is VoIP SIP(Vippie) that have G.729 but the interface is featureless and you never know when your calls are through Sip or not. I tried and after 30 min I get my pay back because is an awful app.
I think the best approach is to buy the G.729 codec and to use it in any Sip application you might have it installed. Unfortunately I cannot not find how can an audio codec like G.729 can be bought under Android.
Is everybody that made already some steps in this direction ?
Thank you for the help.
Hope this will somehow help you
csipsimple has g729, should be better than sipdroid
http://code.google.com/p/csipsimple/downloads/list
Thank you for your useful post ! This is what I am looking for !!!
Awesome !!
