No. If you sync it with your Outlook, or make a backup with Pim Backup (PPCP Pim Backup) which I think you can find easily on this forum or using Google, you can place it back after a hard reset.
ohh.... i see. only hard reset?! awww, seriously i dont know anything abt these tech stuffs and its such a pain in a ass to use this kind of touch phone. especially when u are new to it. anyway, if i sign my mobile with starhub mobile plan, then does it means that i have the warranty already?
Guess ur another 'lucky' one. I had the same problem few days ago. A hard reset was the only solution. It seems like a software issue. Maybe the template somehow cannot be loaded properly. That's why it's not working. But do back up ur data and stuff before you reset. It kills the stuff in the main memory but surprisingly all the stuff (including pics and stuff) in my Internal Storage remained intact.
Its caused by the CE-star, reinstall and register it will solve the problem..
donlt need to do hard reset.
I had that problem, solved it when i uninstalled CE-star

Ok, this has happened to me several times and i have never figured out why this has happened.
today i went to school and since we were having a test i turned my tilt off. after the test i turned my phone on. the tilt went through the normal boot (but i didnt see the att animation). then it went to the phone setup/align screen stuff, this is when i relized im screwed. after that i reset (to avoid the reinstall of the att software).
so the over all damage done is, my registry seems to have been competely erased. all my settings are lost, but as far as i can see all my files are there.
has this happened to anyone else, or does anyone have an idea what caused this? the only thing i could remember that is a cause of worry is that my main phone memory was down to about 2.3mb.
if its possible to get registry back please help, but really the only thing i want to know is how to prevent this after i hard reset and start to rebuild
:-(
are you using a fancy rom or a boring one?

Boring normal ATT rom, i have just seen to many problems with others....
maybe try the new updated one?
saying this probably doesn't help u much, but i had the same thing happen to me too, except i didn't turn it off or anything special. I just rebooted and lost the registry like you did. I don't think its your free memory though, i had over 40mb free when it happened to mine.
Nothing you can do except backup nightly so you can be prepared for next time.
If you're using the AT&T ROMs, Sprite Backup is installed by default.
Hope this helps!

Buy a MicroSD Card, they are relatively cheap, you can tell the backup program to only keep a certian number of back-ups (I keep 5). It also comes in handy if you want to try a new Rom.
You can also auto reset the device after the back-up it helps with stability.
I'm having problems again with my messaging system on my phone (Picture messages aren't coming through. Normal ones come through but pictures ones don't. Kinda weird and this happend before and the only thing I could do was a hardreset). I purchased sprite backup and plan on doing a hard reset now to fix things. My question is the way my phone is now it has sprite back up on it. When I do the hardreset will the sprite back up on my comp be smart enough to reload the phone with what it needs to do the restore? Any feedback on this would be awesome and thanks in advance. Also is anyone knows how to fix the messaging system on this phone (8925 aka tilt) without doing the restore thing that would be great also. Thanks!
sprite might back up the problem. So after you hard reset and reload the backup you may have just reloaded the problem as well.
I was worried about that. Maybe i'll just take the time to reinstall everything. I'd hate to go that route though...
Hi all,
I have searched around and found no answers.
my tilt was acting up a little so i decided to go back
to my previous best setup of all files.. so i ran my backupfiles (3 month old)
as this one had the right type of files I needed.
When I ran it, it did its thing and when it restarted it said that storage memory is full and some programs may not be able to function.
and ever since I haven't been able to use my tilt.. nothing functions.
I called up the ATT guys (2 AM LOL) and they were like, this is a fone problem and you'll have to take it up with the warranty guys to get it replaced.
I was wondering if there was anything I cud do to stop that replacement as this fone has gone thru a lot of modifications and I dont' wanna lose it!
Don't sound like a hardware issue. If you hard reset your phone and do not load your backup do you get this error? Or does this only happen when you try reinstalling from the backup?
If the backup was done from a different ROM it could be whats causing the problem.
If its happening right after a hard reset without you installing anything then its probably the device.
Check whether you have a recording file in main memory
This could have happened if you accidentally pressed the record button and created a large recording.
These files are usually stored in main memory.
It happened to me a lot in my AXIMS.
You can check by using start-settings-system-memory and there's an option to check which files are eating up your memory.
Another way would be to use the built-in file explorer and goto to the PPCs root directory and check there (or in MyDocuments).
no the backup isn't at fault.
I used this previously and it worked fine.
This time I installed the sprint version of the HTC today plugin and I wanted to get rid of the original HTC today plugin .. removed the HTC today plugin, did a soft reset, and all my data vanished (contacts/calendar details and stuff)..
so I decided to restore my backup which should have restored everything that I lost.
When the loading finished, it said that storage memory was low, and since then I haven't been able to do anything with the fone.. can't even do a hard reset.
It doesn't even respond to a USB being plugged in to re-install the ROM.

Have you tried a hard reset using the soft key combination? That should work regardless of any memory issues that would prevent you from getting to Clear Storage under Settings.
that's what finally worked.
It hit me at 4 in the morning
that there is a manual way
of doing a hard reset without
re flashing ..
thanks for all your interest peeps!

I have the same problem yesterday after tweaking the hide sim contact and activate the burst & sport mode for camera. However, not too sure if the above tweaks was the caused.
Did a hard reset and its back to normal.
I have the same problem since yesterday night onwards. Didn't do any tweak or change of setting. This just happened out of nothing. Anyone can solve the problem? (other than doing a hard reset).

did you happen to install CE Star on the phone?
I did but it was about 3 weeks ago and the phone was ok.
I believe the issue lies with it. If you have not register your copy of CE Star, this might happen. To verify this, uninstall CE Star and see if the problem goes away.
its is CEStar issue. pls register your CEstar.
Registered and solved. Thank you!
Thanks......I have solved mine too......Well done !!
I feel like a compleate idet. I guess i slected to encript my sd card and i did not know that if you whipe it it locks it forever. i just upgraded to wm6.1 and i thought it was a upgrade and not a whole flash. i backed up before i did it but now all my backups are locked. im really panicing right now and stressing because all my contacts were on there. is there anythign i can do?
hopefully you used active sync for your contacts other than that as far as i know you have no way of getting the data. it really sucks
The DPAPI master key (decryption key) is stored on the internal flash, once you upgrade or hard reset, the key is deleted and there's no way to get it back... Sorry...
wow, that really sucks... and no, i did not really sync my device.. (and this is the secound time, first was my 8125 died and now this, when will i learn)
ok well i guess i will just try to re do everythign.
thanks for the help
