Hello to all,
I have just purchased a used Qtek 9100 from Ebay for $163. NBD 9.3 is preinstalled on it by the seller. I have some problem while copying the files (i.e Songs, text file, vidoes, themes etc) to the built-in memory. It gives any error like "The device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected!" and the file will not copy!
I have installed Windows Vista with windows mobile device mobile 6.1. I have tested in my another pc which is windows xp with activesync is installed on it and it will work perfect with no errors!
I posted this in this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=393078 link and some one told that it will be solved by upgrading/change the ROM.
But I do not know which ROM should be installed ( There are many ROM in this site). And also I do not know how to upgrade the ROM. I finded everthing in forum.xda-developers.com website but did not understand any thing.
I have installed & checked Wizard Service Tool v4.2.2 and got the info.

I am upgrading/change my pda because I have the problem with file copying and also it is very slow. I Like to install a wm6 or wm6.1 based ROM which is best, simple and fast with best softwares.
Do I need to use hardspl or softspl to upgrade my mobile?
Please anyone help me, and Please guide me step by step.
I will be waiting......
Thanking you all
Hello,
Sorry I wrote wrong ROM version. It is NBD 9.2 installed, NOT NBD 9.3.
Thanks
Srikanth.k
alright, well, first off...you need to get a memory card for you phone, by copying files to your phones main internal memory you slow it down immensely! Secondly, you need to apply Hard-SPL to your device, and then you should be all set to upgrade it to a 6 or 6.1 ROM of your choice.

i think you need to know this before i begin...

ROM: 1.06.00 ENG
RADIO: 1.00.00
PROTOCOL: 1337.30
EXT ROM: 1.06.116 WWE
So u see i have a pretty old ROM. I was reading the WIKIs FAQ (How to upgrade to the lastest ROM) and everything was clear until i hit the Getting started section (((#How do I find the correct upgrade ROM that will work for me?))), now i'm absolutly not sure about what to do. There is NO upgrade for my T-MOB008 so i don't know what should i download in stead.
I was thinking about iMate PDA2K_WWE_14000_176_11200 and about overwriting the radio_.nbf with the new 1.13.00 ver, so i would not need to update RADIO again and i would use the MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe to UPGRADE cause of the different versions. So am i right or no ?
And i have 1 more question can i use Xbackup to backup contacts and apointments and after the upgrade restore them or do i have to create them again manualy ?
thx for any kind of help
Well it seems for a person that got stuck you picked up all the needed info.
The wiki page with the roms has got lost, I will just jot down a few steps for you details can be found in wiki.
If you use blackberry then it seems you need to stay with radio 1.06.
1 unlock ext rom and save files to pc. (wiki kitchen)
2 sync cotacts to outllook
3 save any docs data you need
4 run the imate 1.40 wiki upgrade
5 run the radio 1.13 upgrade (dont mix the files)
6 unlock ext rom and remove the I-mate carrier cabs (wiki kitchen available ext roms will list them.)
7 add the t-mobile carrier cabs back to device, edit config.txt
8 reset and have fun.
thx for reply...
so here is whats happened:
i got all to the point 4 but when i run the maupgradeut_noid.exe after somethink like 30seconds the ACTIVE SYNC disconnects and i get an ****RY ERROR. THE BA screen is completly BLACK and won't start when i push the POWER BUTTON. I have to take out battery and then it's working( but the device is hard reseted ).
i tried to run the maupgradeut_noid.exe again like the WIKIs FAQ saiz but it's not detecting the BA. I use the cradle via USB connection.
should i edit the RUU.CONF ? or is it getting too high risk ?
Did you use the files from wiki ?
Reboot the pc or kill the active sync session and re run the maupgradeut_noid.exe. You might need to run it twice so after the first error close it and rerun it.
Lets work on the normal way before we try the other tricks.
i forgot to say that i did get all the way to the UPGRADE button and after i pushed it then i did get the COUNTRY ID ERROR.
It happened in the UPGRADING PROCESS.
Then you did not use the maupgradeut_noid.exe twice
sorry about not answering i had some house moving problems
i have done the upgrade just like u said it's working.
only the config.txt did not need modification there was an autorun.exe
thx very much
I have the simillar pb

Hi,
I cannot flash 0.78.OliNex Hard-SPL on my new X1i: The progress bar stays at 0% until the timeout, then Error 262. I tried everything (no sd-card, no sim, hard reset, compability mode etc.), no avail.
My new X1i has the image version 1.05.932.7 (03/24/09), the bootloader reads:
KOVS110
SPL-0.78.0000
MicroP1-787
MicroP2-707
The type is AAD-380001-BV.
Radio is 1.14.25.55, protocol 52.65.25.34J, extended protocol 1.0.11809.7229.
Software ID is 1213-6439, version R3AA007, user id 1215-3303, user version R15A, content version PA10.
I noticed that the installed WME 6.1 is modified compared to the old X1. In particular, during my first attempt, a WM6.1 warning message with a red boundary popped up, indicating that proceeding could harm the phone (yes/no). I checked yes, and since then, the message does not come up anymore. Probably the ROM is not in Olis compatibility list, so I looked for unsigned HardSPL, but found only the Image Version 1.00.Diamond, so I did not flash it (probably it would brick my X1i). Any idea would be very much welcomed, I want to get rid of WM6.1 and flash WM6.5.3.
Thanks a lot for any hints.
BTW, I've posted this thread alredy in the X1 General forum and realised only now that this forum might be a better choice, sorry for that.
Next try
Hi,
I found the recommendation below and tried, but no avail as well.
Does anyone know an unsigned HardSPL by Oli for the SE X1?
Any help appreciated.

Default HTC Touch Pro, Fuze HardSPL Error 262 FIX
Alright, this is how i fixed my 262 error after ripping out all my hair for a week.
- Plug your phone into any working usb port (make sure Active sync is up and running)
- Run RaphaelHardSPL-Unsigned_190_1_3.exe and on the first screen pop up, 9 files will be created in the directory you run the .exe from.
- Copy these 9 files to another folder because you will be clicking cancel on the pop up which will in turn erase the 9 files it created.
- Click cancel on the pop up.
- Go to the folder in which you copied these 9 files to.
- Run ROMUpdateUtility.exe and the same screen pop will appear as before.
- Follow the prompts and it should work.
don't flash bootloader-stuff from other devices, never! Oo
try flashing hardspl 0.72 via usb first (the old one), then flash 0.78 as an "update".
Next step, but still not working
Well, I was able to flash APP_SW_X1i_GENERIC_UK_1213-6450_CDF1215-1832_KOV_R1AA017
from the SD card, and I have now SPL0.72.0000 on my X1.
ROM Version:1.02.931.3
Date: 08/29/08
Radio: 1.06.25.29
Protocol: 52.43.25.24U
Software ID: 1213-6450
Version: R1AA017
However, X1_HardSPL still terminates with Error 262 as before. Flashing OliNex's HardSPL via SD card (RUU_Signed.nbh renamed to kovsimg.nbh) does not work either. I still cannot flash my Dynamics GTX 2.3.5 GER ROM.
Any ideas?
BTW, I tried with a desktop and a laptop, both XP SP3 and Active Sync 4.5 on various USB ports. I disabled Security Options via X1_Tweaks. Everything seems to work, only flashing HardSPL still fails.
At least, I am a step back now ;-)
Bingo!
I succeeded. The solution has been:
- Establish an Active Sync connection via USB.
- Copy the file Xperia-SSPL-Manual.exe to the root directory of a FAT32-formatted SD card (no SDHC, an elder one). SSPL-Manual is the basic part of OliNex bootloader.
- Unpack HardSPL by starting it or use RUU_Kovsky files in a directory of the PC hard disk. Make sure that the proper RUU_Signed.nbh file is in this directory (the HardSPL image by Olimex in the version you whish to complete the basic SPL started onthe X1)..
- On the X1, open the file manager and start Xperia-SSPL-Manual.exe by clicking on it. The X1 switches to the boot loader mode indicating HardSPL 0.52 by OliNex.
- On the PC connected to the X1, start ROMUpdateUtility.exe.
In my case, the flashing went very quickly to 100%, and I have now HardSPL0.78OliNex on my X1. Now I can proceed (Task29, image flashing). At least I hope so.
My assumption about the the problems I faced: My X1 had a quite recent firmware which probably blocked any change of the SPL and allowed only generic signed images to be flashed, no cooked ones. Xperia-SSPL-Manual.exe bypasses this lock by applying an OliNex cracked routine, thus allowing to overwrite the SPL. At least I think so.
Done.
My Dynamics GTX 2.3.5 GER ROM is now up and running. THX a lot for the great support of this forum!
Thanks for instructions I have same problem with my X1.
You're welcome.
It has been worth the troubles - the Dynamics ROM is great, and until now, I found no hickups.

Folow the guide on that page or:

Want that fancy WiFi Hotspot internet sharing Tethering feature on you Windows Phone 7 device? If you are a Samsung Omnia 7 owner today is your lucky day. T-Mobile Germany pushed out a new firmware last night version I8700XXKI4 with the tethering / Internet Sharing feature enabled (thanks for the tip guys!). I’m a nice guy so I grabbed the firmware file and uploaded it so you can manually install it on your handset. Follow the instructions below (same a before and I’m not responsible if it doesn’t work for you):
- Download the firmware here (remember that’s not the OS but only the firmware bits) then download the WPupdate tools from here.
- Unzip the Tools in a folder then unzip the firmware in the same folder as the tools.
- Plug in your device, wait until the Zune client starts and then close it.
- Run the the Updater and press S or B (depending on the size of your balls..)
- your phone will then reboot in download mode and update (don’t unplug it or do stupid things with your PC during the whole process..)
Please note that this won’t work if you are running the latest I8700XXKI3 firmware from SFR (there’s a conflict with the 5.9.1.4 bootloader and maybe others too) so you will have to painfully revert back to an older firmware like the T-Mobile RC1 here (I8700XXKH2).
You should then have the following:
OS Version: 7.10.7720.68
Firmware revision number: 2424.11.9.4
Hardware revision number: 3.15.0.4
Radio software version: 2424.11.9.1
Radio hardware version: 0.0.0.800
Bootloader version: 5.9.3.0
Chip SOC version: 0.36.2.0
Enjoy tethering your handset!
Direct Rom download link: http://bit.ly/rOyGCG
Direct Tools download link: http://bit.ly/sOTNzl
P.s: That is not my guide! I had the French SFR bootloader problem, i reverted as he said and it worked seamlesly. You loose all data though!

ideas on how to avoid it???
yes, i had the same error, just follow the instructions on that page, install the older mango version
here is the post where you downgrade your mango rom.
http://bit.ly/pK0v0N
Beware!!! If you follow the instructions in that post you will void your warranty, your new rom will be a T-mobile german rom (you will have to manualy change the language in english), t-mobile also will be all over your phone, lot's of crappy apps that you will have to uninstall manualy! Your search provider in internet explorer will be a combination of tmobile and german google, you can change that in the settings menu.
Direct Link for the rom Download http://bit.ly/tvsHop
In the archive you will find a bunch of files.
* WP7 Downloader Ver 7.41 for Publish (Add OASIS Latin).exe
* Samsung_Mobile_USB_Driver(V5.2)_V1.2.1050.0.exe
* PDA_I8700XXKH2_sec.nb0
* I8700XXKG2_02_RC1.bin
* I8700DTMKH2_ENG.PKS
* EBOOT_I8700XXKH2_CO04_REV02_sec.eb0
* CSC_I8700DTMKH2.csc
First unarchive in a folder.
Then install the samsung mobile driver (if you don't already have it)
Open the app WP7 Downloader Ver 7.41
load everything like in the attached photo
put your phone in download mode (with phone turned off press volUp+cameraButton and then power up while keeping those buttons pressed)
connect the phone and press start. Don't do any funny stuff on your pc. I prefer to do that on a laptop with full battery charge and plugged in!
After this install your phone should look like this :
Software: windows phone 7.5
os version: 7.10.7720.68
firmware revision number: 2424.11.8.2
hardware rev number: 3.15.0.4
radio soft. vers.: 2424.11.7.2
radio hardw. vers.: 0.0.0.800
Bootloader: 5.8.0.8
Chip SOC version 0.36.2.0
Now you can update to the new T-mobile rom that has thethering enabled!
thanks for the info but I think i will just wait for an official unbranded update maybe...
My omnia was a branded T-mobile DE before and i unbrande just because i don't like splash screens of something I'm not using
It's like having a bmw with a ducati engine
I have a tablet with no 3g so i was kinda desperate!
