In earlier devices we always used to see a green light blinking in the earpiece which showed that the network is available but in Diamond I do not see this. Can you all confirm if this is normal ?
If you used the search you could see that the LED in the earpiece is a light sensor. So there's no blinking light
Thanks reply is faster that search

I almost trade in my cruise, but I noticed that the LED on the earpice does not blink..we tried to plug the charger, does not turn orange or green..so I back out..the store dont want me to open a second one.
I saw a guy buying in Fortress (in HK, it's been here since last Friday), and it does not blink as well... well but it really looks like a LED on it..
looking for the brochures.....to check
Sure it's not just the light sensor?
It probably is, the scroll weel thing seems to do all the blinking.
its definitely a light sensor
Cheers

Yes it’s a light sensor. I mentioned this in an earlier thread. It allows the backlight to adjust automatically to its surroundings.
Sorry evryone..just got mine...
It is the light sensor...too much on my Cruise...
ok, so there is no led on the diamond? that s not common for an htc, and that s not very convenient to know if you missed some calls or if your device if fully charged etc

Lol there is an array of lights around the directional control. It lights up veyr nicely, and much more noticeably than the tiny LEDs on previous HTC devices. It glows with a slow pulsating when charging, and flashes when there is a missed call or SMS (according to your preference settings).
"It glows with a slow pulsating when charging" and when charging is over it stops pulsating or is a solid light ?

It's smarter and it blends in very nicely with the look of the phone.
Very nice at night when the phone is being charged in the dark

Let's be careful, it could be HAL !
And how u know if the phone is still on ?Is there no option to make the joistick blink while in standby?????
Pull out the stylus. If it's on, the screen will turn on.

especially for the color blind folks like me. i could never determine whether my device is fully charged without turning on.
thanks to htc, i can do that now...
Just got the new phone today. The LED lights aren't switched on by default. So when the phone is charging, have bluetooth switched on, missed calls etc.... nothing
In the sounds and notifications setup the tick box for the light is greyed out. Is there a registry setting to turn them on, or is my phone faulty ??

Do you mean the circle LED? Reading the manual they should flash or spin in a circle depending on whats happening. there is no Bluetooth light from what I can tell.

No not the circular light it works ok. There appears to be a small LED up beside the speaker (where your ear goes). It's not doing anything !
It's light sensor

there are no "connectivity" indicator LEDs - ie WLAN BT Phone etc. only the indicator LED for missed call, unread email sms.
Hey guys,
I've read through the forum and I got confused
Some people say we have a blue led indicator for bluetooth, some people say its only a bi-color LED (green and orange)..hhmmm..
the question is: Does Topaz have a blue LED indicator ?
if yes how can you set it up, so when ever your BlueTooth is on the LED indicator Flashes, or is On until bluetooth turns off
Thank you for the help
There is no blue LED indicator for bluetooth, so there is nothing to set up.
damn..
Thanks for the reply!!!

realy? I'm shure, the left led is a multi-color led that also can "blue", so it is a question of software & programming. But i dont know we are able to change this settings. May be in the future, with new ROM's ?
Sorry for bad english, i hope you can understand it...........

I'm using a small software on my Blackberry which is changing led color depending on the event. You may customize as you wish (for those who wants to know, this soft's called berrybuzz)... For example, blicking green when you got sms, red when it's a mail, purple for missing phone calls, blue when bluetooth, etc...
That would be fantastic if we only could port that on our devices... But not sure the led is multi-color.

How do you know it is a multi-colour LED?
It would have been cheaper for them to use a single colour one

hhmm, on low bat the led is "red" on full bat she's green. May be it is only a dual-color, but in the most htc-devices is biuld in a multi color (for example in prophet), so it makes my wonder, if not in TD2
I'm still hoping for a constantly blinking green "in service" light, I really miss this feature. If anyone knows of an app to do it, I'd be very grateful!
Sorry if this has already been asked but what are the top two lights in the top left for? must be in bright light to see and maybe a slight tilt
I think one is the light and one the proximity sensor!

They aren't lights but sensors. One detects the amount of light in a room to automatically change your brightness, and apparently the other is a proximity sensor, which I didn't know, but makes sense. The proximity sensor is why your screen turns off when you put your phone to your ear during a call.
SO i have had a desire hd and oh that the charge led flashes green if the phone is on. Is something similar available for our nexus 1's?
PS: Please excuse my rubbish english.
IIRC there's an app that utilized the charging LED. I'll have to search for it.

I know for a fact that Light Flow can control the charging LED.
Just tested it quickly; in 'Direct mode' with notification 'Phone signal' enabled, the charging LED is solid blue (I chose blue color).
You can choose blue, green, red (isn't working for me), orange, turquoise (=light blue), purple (=blue) and white (=pink)
Blink does it too. There's another one posted here somewhere I haven't foound.
