I search a Software... - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Themes and Apps

Hi, sorry for my bad English but I'm a German student. I search a software for Hacking WLAN's by my HTC. I'm working often with PC's and WLAN's also I will explain the others how easy it is to hack a WLAN with a "simple" mobile Phone, is there any Software??
Thanks or your Help
P.S.:
I use the software not for illegal activity!!

Yea, because hacking LAN's and telling people how easy it is to hack them isn't illegal.

Yes, but in a German Forum you get often told that you only want to do illegal when you search for this kind of software.

Well, I don't think they exist. For cracking WEP you'll need quite some wlan packets to unveil the 128bit key, not to mention you'll need some RAM and a fast processor. But if you got this key on many wlans you need to spoof another MAC adress and I don't know any solution for MAC spoofing with a pda. Yeah, they are yet quite powerful (500 MHz, 256 MB RAM etc...) but as for closed-source drivers, different architectures etc. I doubt it's as simple as for normal PCs, especially linux-based OSes.
And there is no avoiding the fact that today's WPA and WPA2 encryption algorithms in conjunction with a secure and long enough alphanumeric password are mostly secure, therefore you can consider this is impossible to hack even with the fastest notebooks available in a reasonable period of time. (WEP could be hacked in a few moments, yep)
I don't know if any solution exists, never heard from anything else than active wlan sniffers. I think it's too complicated for any developer to create a piece of software with direct access to wlan hardware registers as there are other architectures as for PCs and notebooks. Even a passive sniffer would be a hard thing to do.
And I doubt that if any solution exists that it works on more than one or two wlan chipsets - as for the most powerful wlan sniffing tool for ppc available. (forgot the name since it doesn't run for me anyhow)
Yeah, you can sniff, log etc, but for hacking... maybe s/o else knows more on this topic.
And just fyi - it's not illegal to OWN this kind of software (just like radar warner or some outlandish telephones) but it's mostly illegal to USE it/them in certain circumstances. Not to mention ยงยง202a, ff; 303 f. StGB. - For demonstration purposes with the permission of the owner it's surely LEGAL... but i am not a lawyer...
...just my five cents...

if you proclaim to be such a guru of the WLAN hacking and cracking, why cant you figure it out on your own.
its like saying i am a pro at stealing beer but i need someone to do it for me.

Exactly!
Maybe its to "launder" the person doing it so It can't be traced back to him.

I love this ROM!

I flashed my MDA about a week ago, and thanks to this forum (everybody), and XCPUScalar, I have a unit that boots up a full 80 seconds faster (from about 190) runs substantially faster, like getting immediate response from Pocket Informant instead of waiting 8 or so seconds, and has needed no soft-resetting since I upgraded (although one should do it on occaision, so I do). I have installed about 35 apps, and that process was cut from a few hours to less than two (with distractions).
I have one issue, and it probably isn't the MDA. My WiFi won't connect with my XP home workgroup network. I'm looking into that. Any help would be welcomed.
Did I mention I'm a newbie? And if you haven't done this yet and you're having a hard time finding instructions, there all in the installation file, just make your backups and jump in, but make sure you have the right ROM/hardware combo and phone service.
Is a MDA the same as a Cingular 8125?
Which ROM did you use?
What did you use to backup?
I'm a newbie also. I want to do this. I've been reading this forum for 2 weeks. I still don't have much of a clue. If I was certain that I could get back to where I am if I screwed up, I'd be more willing to "jump in". I have flashed routers before so it's not totally foreign to me.
Thanks for any help/advice that you are kind enough to throw my way,
Porter
Which ROM is this?
Yes. Could you identify this marvelous ROM?
yes, i love her, too.
Since I've not heard about an update to XCPUScalar which supports OMAP processors, I think this guy has got the wrong forum.
you say you love the rom! But which ****ing rom do you mean exactly?
Sorry. T-mobile USA 2.24 Custom ROM
Here's the link that got me there:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=53300&highlight=tmobile+motorola
There is another ROM for other service providers (Cingular) that I hear is just like this one but has a higher number, like 3.x. There is a link in the thread on page 7 or so. ??? There is also a newer version of the T-Mo USA ROM available, but I can't reflect on that.
The MDA also goes by the Name MDA vario, Qtek 1900 (I think), and Wizard. I don't know of any other names. I learned this by searching for leather cases on Ebay. The pictures said it all. I highly recommend being sure you know all the names, particularly the HTC name, of your unit before trying to tell it with a new ROM what model it is. If they don't match, you could mess up irreparably, although there are developers here who might argue about the irreparable part, I don't have the skills or time they do.
Read, be sure it all matches, and *then* thake the plunge!
Hey, the XCPU Scalar works. ???
I am one of those people who is willing to try unheard-of things. ImmierSoft made my MDA go faster, I don't particularly care how.
And I'm not a guy.
XCPUScalar uses a different processor than what the Wizard uses. Unless you are imagining things, you are probably using a ppc other than the Wizard.
Did it not appear that I understood...
... the processor types were different? It's not helpful to be condescending for you or for the person you're talking to. It's Immiersoft's XCPUScalar, and a T-Mobile MDA (US), which is the Wizard. There are certain things I can do woth the software to make the unit crash.
"There was a little girl who said why
can't I see my ear with my eye
I'm sure I cn do it
if I put my mind to it
You never do know til you try!"
Why so negative?
I'm signing off of this forum
I'm pretty fed up with the lack of social skills on this forum, particularly the moderators. I personally can't afford to risk/try this kind of hard work at this point in my life. If you have further questions, please search the forum, there are likely some sort of answers to your question. (e.g. looking up the latest ROMs for your model to see what's available to you rather than asking me what I'm talking about. thanks all for your interst and time!
...nevermind...
Janis, if you have a Wizard (and not, for example, a Magician - check the pics on the forum index) then XCPUScalar has no effect on your processor speed. I checked their website, and they still do not support OMAP processors. XCPUScalar is designed for (Intel) XScale processors (and one other type, which escapes me) - it is not a generic ARM overclocker. So far, only OMAPclock is able to overclock the OMAP processor in the Wizard.
I also think some people on this forum should grow up and stop acting like children when someone says something they don't like, or in a manner they do not like. I don't see your reasoning, Janis, behind "spitting the dummy out" when someone wants to know what exactly you are talking about when you start a brand new thread with no reference to anything solid in the body of it.
What is funny though, the first post of Janis contained comments and 1 question:
"I have one issue, and it probably isn't the MDA. My WiFi won't connect with my XP home workgroup network. I'm looking into that. Any help would be welcomed."
Maybe one of you "experts" could try to answer or help on that one........
wifi problem
i just upgraded to the Tmobile 2.26 ROM and also have the same wifi problem... my wifi wont connect to my dlink 900AP access point. It was working fine before the upgrade. Any ideas? Thanks
Not sure if this is the case, but I'll give it a shot.
If you just upgraded your ROM, I believe it wipes out any registry settings you had previously changed.
In the case of a wifi network, if you're running an 802.11g-only network then you will have to go back in to the registry of your Wizard and enable 802.11g on the Wizard for it to connect.
You'll also need to re-enter any network keys as they were wiped out as well.
Like i said the processor for XCPUScalar is for XScale, not OMAP (which is what the Wizard uses). I'm sorry if you took my comment in the wrong manner and took it personally.
As for the question in your original post, well check to see which network you are on (G, B, or mixed). The Wizard is originally set on B without registry changes (unless T-Mobile fixed this). If you have set your wireless network setup with a password, try setting up your network without a password just to confirm if a connection can be made and your problem is a security issue. If that doesn't work, I find that making registry changes to the MDA for a G connection works perfectly whenever I try this. Just make sure you set your router on the G network and try again. Also try to set you wireless connections on your phone to performance and see if that changes anything.
And for the others don't judge me. How many times have I asked for help and got no response or a negative one. I don't even recall ever getting a thankyou for helping anyone on this site. Everyone tends to ask for help then I never hear from them again. Sound familiar? I thought so.
I decided to edit out my venting ... doesn't do any good ...
btw, I agree that you should check out your registry settings regarding the WiFi.....
"Hey guys, this ROM is great!!"
"Which ROM?"
"**** you!!"

WPA2-Enterprise on the Tilt?

I tried to search the forums for this answer, but found nothing and started my own thread.
Question: Is it possible to connect to WPA2-E with the tilt? There is no feature on the wireless settings, and I didn't know if it even had the capability or if it was a software issue.
Backstory: I'm trying to connect to my school's wifi and the tech people here said they didn't have the ability to allow smartphones to connect via wifi. I connect fine with a laptop but can't mimic then on the tilt.
If anyone could help, it would be greatly appreciated.
Have you tried opening up the "WiFi" settings and enrolling? With WPA2-E, you need the certificate first...
There is no WPA Enterprise available within the Microsoft WM6 OS. This is no fault of HTC (for the flamers on this forum) so we will have to wait for an MS update!!

There are protocol conflicts at the moment because all providers at the conference table have different draft-n situations.
TKIP is totally screwed whereas AES is working reasonably at the moment.
When we get a totally confirmed 'n' format then Encryption will automatically fall into place!
This then needs MS to accept and implement!
Just wait and hope is all I can say!!!

is there some kind of 3rd party software that could hold me over?
It (my school) uses wpa2-enterprise security type and AES encryption type with a PEAP authentication method.

Use Kaiser/Tilt as webcam?

I've read in another thread that the AT&T service agreement prohibits use of the phone as a webcam, but do other carriers?
I'd be more interested in a method in which the phone is recognized as a webcam via USB for use with a PC, rather than by itself. I suppose that would be major software work, though.
Anyone know if such a method is possible/in the works/available?
i believe you are allowed to use a tilt as a webcam, if you are doing what you are asking about--as a usb webcam. i think they prohibit direct streaming over the network, thus taking up much of its network resources. then again thats just my thought, i may be wrong... but otherwise, i have no idea of any programs... sorry
Try looking for a program called Web camera+ (its made by ateksoft).
It will turn your phone in to a web cam. AT&T doesnt allow you to make video calls. These are two very different things.
Also, the search button would have solved this problem for you. It has been asked and answered before. Sorry to be mean but let this be a lesson... *lol*
I searched for "webcam" and "web cam" and only found 1 thread which didn't mention that company or that program. Unless it was in another forum.
First result on the search I did
http://www.ateksoft.com/webcamplus.html
Does any one has a demo copy?
may be this is the reply to all questions
for all you people who want web cam plus

INVENTEL LIVEBOX's

Hi all,
I know this is a mobile phone site for anything you've ever dreamed of and beyond, but this querry does relate to phones in a way.
I have what is called a INVENTEL Livebox, supplied by Orange UK for broadband and a kinda VOIP service through the said box.
Can someone explain how i can set up port forwarding via the box, quickly, securely, and with minimal knowledge...
With what your all actively doing to mobiles, this should be a breeze in the park. I believe wannado also supply their customers with the same boxes....
cheers all...
thanks for any assistance....
Never tried this, but I'd guess it shouldn't be too hard...
Taking a look at the config pages, I think you'll need to do the following:
Go to 192.168.1.1 in any internet browser.
Click on the link to the configuration pages, and enter admin/admin for the username/password.
Then go to configuration/advanced/router, click "Add" and enter all the settings you need there (I'm guessing you know what you're doing with the port forwarding itself).
erh????
Nope, aint got a clue!
Basically, i've bought an IP CCTV camera, and want to be able to access it from my Diamond. But these Inventel Liveboxes are quite a thing of its own.
Plus i want it to be as secure as possible, with access to my desktop being the end target too....
orange Internet (wannado) are very guarded about their pride and joy boxes, they are a neet bit of kit, but can be a pain in the backside.
lol my dad has one of these, and bittorrent doesnt like working because the ports thingamijig and we had trouble to

PC & PPC Security issues

Hi all, it's been a while since I have posted lol, but I got a bit of a situation at our company that the pro's here might be able to help us out with.
We've got some serious trouble with with at least one person (possibly more) in our company, that has been fooling around with way more than the business programs that operate our CNC machines. It has destabilized the OS in our Waterjet, and we have also had to reformat a office PC as well. The way we know, is that only owners have Remote Desktop access set up on these machines, and we have seen other remote access names popping up now, around the same time as really bad system problems & bugs have been showing up. The one older Waterjet, if it is cashed to the point of a reformat, the whole machine will be scrap, as the the one of a kind coding between the MB and the internal PMAC card (controller card) will not be able to be replaced.
Also the company has a few HTC phones, Tytn, TytnII, and a Diamond that get charged throughout the day in areas that can not be secured from everyone. We believe they have been used to send confidential data and pictures of our company by someone else as well. As personal phones are not allowed.
My question is, out of ALL the junk & useless spam programs out there that do not do what they say. What is there that our company can reliably use and install on our company PC's & at least the HTC Diamond as well(as others will be upgraded) to covertly monitor and or record either on the host machine, or preferably a remote administers PC all that happens on these devices all running windows platform? The program must also be able to run in stealth mode and have no conflicts with anti virus programs. We are using Avast now, but considering the severity of this, the company would switch to a new solution that would work seamlessly and undetectable in order to weed out the perpetrator, and any future one's as well.
The Legal part of this for those wondering:
Other companies we do business with here have also had to combat this same problem. As long as it is the companies PC's & PC phones and on the premises, anything and everything that is carried out on these pieces of equipment is able to be monitored (without notice, as it is a voluntary act to place information on someone else's property on their premises). It also legally becomes the companies property and full rights of use in legal matters. At least in our country there is still one last shred of something that can help out the victims & not the criminal. Here we have to welcome in a home intruder and make sure he doesn't stub his toe on the door on the way out, or else we end up getting sued for damages, all the mean while he gets released with another line on his rap sheet!
Gem
Any professional solutions is greatly appreciated.
