storage memory increases by itself? - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

I had notice that my diamond's storage memory would increase by itself..
like 5-20mb..
I did not install any new programs to the storage device memory and I got a feeling its the more I surf the new, it increases.
i emptied opera's cache, searched under temp folders but it doesnt free up my memory..
is there a cache or Temp file that I am missing out?

thats not storage memory u mean program memory? if thats what u mean its memory leak from TF3D

Vodafone Diamond Memory

Can somebody please explain how much internal memory my phone should have, I'm a bit confused I thought it was 192MB.
If i open memory in the settings it shows Storage 93.98MB and Program 113.07MB.
Correct me if I wrong but I think the program memory is like the ram on a computer to run programs etc and the storage is for any programs that I load or files I save but I have hardly installed anything and my storage is only showing 23MB. Whats using all my memory?
All theories and explanations:

Question about Storage Memory

Hey everyone,
I have the Kaiser and am having trouble with my storage memory.
Total: 125.04 MB
In use: 111.10 MB
***Free: 13.88 MB ***
Why is my storage memory so damn low?... How do I find out what's taking so much mem up?... How do I free that memory up??? I have no programs open, and most of my programs are on my 4 gig storage card.
Any help or suggestions are truly appreciated!
- Jesse
Make sure the caches of IE, OPERA, ETC are deleted routinely.
If you are storing ringtones on your main memory, download software that will allow ringtones on the storage card.
Same goes with any audio clips, videos, or pictures.
If you use resco explorer, make sure the recycling bin is cleaned, or simply disable the recycling bin.
This should free up a nice chunk of storage space. (Ofcourse assuming that most of your programs are actually on your storage card; check your main memory programs folder to actually see whats installed on your main memory)
Thank you for your help!
One more (silly) question - When I install programs to my Tilt, it asks me if I want to install them to the main storage or my memory card. I almost always choose memory card, yet when I check my main storage memory after I install to my storage card, the main storage is depleted... Even though I chose storage card, it still installs some components to the main memory... why is this?
ekw, whats the name of the sofware that allows storage of ringtones on memory card with kaisers?
Thanks....
Just move them to the route of your memory card - no need to purchase software!
Just like on the full-sized Windows, certain programs will want to install a couple of files in the system directories regardless of where the program itself is installed... Those shouldn't be big though.

I'm running out of main memory!!!!

Hello everyone,
I have only 7 MB left from my main memory and although I installed all programs into my internal storage, the main memory keeps shrinking each time.
what should I do to expand my main memory or what files should I remove?
Thanks
You may store too much data on your main memory. move all your photos, musics to internal storgae
If you do a lot of browsing dont forget to clear the cached files.
emails?
Are you synchronizing email? Because, even if you configure the attachments to be stored in internal memory, the actual body text is still stored in RAM.
Check \Windows\Messaging for data...
If so, you need to fix this in the Registry, check the following thread:

help!
my diamond keeps popping up a warning that my storage memory is low. When i look at memory it shows storage total 92.05 MB in use 90.22 MB free 1.84 MB Program total 203.84 MB in use 84.15 MB free 119.69 MB.
What gives? What is eating up that storage total? I only have a few apps installed (Registry Edit, Dashwire, Advanced Config, google maps, wmwifirouter, app to date, diamond tf3d config and .net 3.5.) This is on a Sprint Diamond.
do you downloud video from youtube player ?

bro im having EXACT same prom with the same programs loaded...its almost unuseable at ths point wtf i cannot find these memory hogs and ive searched almost entire windows directory too
A great little app. I found is "Memory Monger" (do a search for the thread with a download). It graphically shows what's in your memory (internal or main). I used it to see which were the big files and moved them to internal storage and made shortcuts in their original folders.
Rob
hey thanks! i will try it.
too late? maybe, but here goes. I found the solution to MY problem with low "storage memory". I had to first do a soft reset because I didn't even have enough free to launch Opera (only .02MB free!). Once i soft reset, i could launch Opera and proceed to clear cache, cookies, and history. after that, it freed up 23MB!! I'm back in business now. Hope this helps someone else besides me!

I thing that this guy know his job but I have to understand why...

Adjust Ram vs Program Memory?

Is it possible to adjust your program memory using the device memory, like on wm2003?
Nope
That feature is not available with WM 5 and up
That adjustment was there because file storage was done in RAM, and the slider would let you choose how much of that RAM to allocate to storage and running programs. Since WM5, storage is done in the Flash memory, so all the RAM is always dedicated to running programs. No point for it then.
alright thank you!
I'll just wait for a different rom with more program memory then.
program mem is static one cant add more by rom other then
move ram from pagepool to app memory
and doing that kill application io performance
pagepool was interduced when flash storage was
to counter the issue that flash storage was much much slower
then old sd ram storage
