I would like to use the stylus for handwriting (for example appointments). Is it possible with htc touch diamond?
If not please recommend me some softwares where I can download.

I use Resco Keyboard Pro (Screen Keyboard, I don't know if it works on the hardware keyboard as I have an Alpine, you can set a secondary the keyboard language, and just press a key on keyboard and you can swap to a Norweigan keyboard, I know cause I have a sister in Norway.

No, you allready have it. Pres 'a' or 'o' button, then doublepres dot button. After that pres space for as manu times than 'a' becomes 'ä'. Enjoy!
Is there not a faster way? Like a registry hack that would give "ä" when pressing "a" twice very fast? I think that would be a lot faster method - doubleclicking "a" rapidly to get "ä".
Could this be done with a registry editor?

Changes Sym-button order,that a-letter changes first to ä-letter and then to å-letter. ö-letter the same

Hej! How do you make this characters with Swedish ROM? I don't have it here, so can't say. Do you know?
The other way is to install Aekmap and remap buttons according to the way you want them to (ae.inc.ru)

I tried Aekmap but I just couldn't customize it. The menu was hard to use, is there a help file somewhere?
PS. Also, I can't see any scandinavian letters on the Full Screen Keyboard.
I don't know why everything has to be so hard with these Win CE devices, I never had problems finding easy to use programs for my Palm devices...

I use SPB Keyboard Pro, you can set a secondary the keyboard language, and just press a key on keyboard and you have your characters, I know cause I have a sister in Norway. In fact I use a lot of their software, which has improved the WM2003 no end.

OOPS Sorry, I use so much SBP software, its not their keyboard program I use, it is Resco Keyboard Pro at http://www.resco.com :lol:

Well, in order to make it work you have to read an AEC FORMAT section at Aekmap page.
You may contact me via ICQ or by PM and I will explain you in details if the web-site doesn't give you a clue.

This is the most simple way to get scandinavian/Swedish charset on your device.

Hi, resurrecting an old thread... I just got a new HTC Wizard and I can't get the softkeyboard from http://www.epocket.no/tastatur/ to work.
I installed it, and it shows up on the Remove Programs menu but I can't use it... I mean; I can't find the program anywhere and the softkeyboard looks the same as before.

Windows mobile comes with the "Transcriber" input method, which transcribes your handwriting. Just switch from the default onscreen keyboard to the transcriber and you're good to go.
It comes with the standard WM6 recognition (Transcriber and Block recognition)

I dont know if this question has been asked but i have looked under everything i can think of.
I love my touch pro but the one thing i dont like about it is that the numbers are across the top and not embedded in the keyboard like other htcs and other keyboard phones.
Does anyone know of a good program that has mapped the number keys to letters on the keyboard. I am not talking about an onscreen app but something that has or would allow me to map the numbers directly to the keyboard.

Either switch to Fuze keyboard layout, or try MagiKB Lite - with this program you can assign most any character to most of the keys on the keyboard.

just got my topaz and flashed a cooked ROM (wm 6.5 LP EVO V-ITA to be precise).
i really need to enable block-letter recognising, after years practising i cannot live without...
afer some search, i have tried editing this

I'm trying to get the Block recognizer too.
It seems to me that Microsoft blocked it in WM 6.5
EzInput 2.1 doesnt support old SIP methods like block recongniser, thats why it doesnt work for you guys.

Hey Aman, but at Microsoft WebPage, they talk about the input methods for WM 6.5 and Block/Letter Recognize are there !!!!!!!
I though that the nes versions of cooked ROM's would be able to have then too.

Now, if you try to set the Letter Recognizer as default, thinking that it will appear in SMS application, it doesn't. For some reason, it will always default back to the Touch Input (or EzInput) SIP.
So, the next step is to make the Letter Recognizer SIP the default. To do that, check the value at
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sip\DefaultIm
It should be "0654897B-B359-473F-B28B-D85CF601C57F" (for Touch Input SIP). Replace that with
"42429690-AE04-11D0-A4F8-00AA00A749B9" (for Letter Recognizer SIP).
WARNING -- very very important to make sure the above is entered correctly. According to some posts elsewhere, a non existent SIP can crash your device. You might want to confirm if you have the Letter Recognizer SIP by searching for the msim.dll file. If it exists, I suppose it is probably safe.
After soft reset (power on/off device), you should now see the Letter Recognizer in your SMS application. However, you will also notice it doesn't work properly. For eg, the Capital Letter (left panel) doesn't work, there is this irritating word suggestions thing that keep popping up, it is quite slow and quite inaccurate, the Help doesn't work well.
To resolve these problems, set the following to 1:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\ezsip\IsOtherSip
Do a soft reset and the problems should disappear and you have a good Letter Recognizer to work with (even with fingernail), save for the following problems:
a. Sometimes response may not be very good. Can be quite slow especially if you are entering letters like "i", "r". Maybe this is because of the screen sensitivity.
b. If you click on the little triangle and want to switch to the Touch Input SIP, you can. But the problem is that you can't switch back to the Letter Recognizer anymore unless you do a soft reset. I guess this is OK if you use Letter Recognizer exclusively, but if you want the Chinese Handwriting feature in Touch Input (which is pretty good IMO), then it is not good.
Sorry for the long post. Thought it is better to also share my observations. I am a newbie with registry thing, so I prefer to do step by step and hence many soft resets. If you are gungho enough, just do the steps in bold followed by a soft reset. Hope it works for all you guys.
Note -- if you don't feel safe doing the registry changes, an alternative is to use the Touch Input SIP but set the waiting time to the shortest possible which will reduce the delay. But it is still very irritating to use IMHO.

Info to all of you with other language then english.
The file msim.dll are country specific, in sweden its called msimsw.dll so i guess you will be able to find your version if you search the registry for msmi and then you will find a msmiXX.dll that is the correct one for your country.
I hade to add the info for {42429690-AE04-11D0-A4F8-00AA00A749B9} and {42429691-ae04-11d0-a4f8-00aa00a749b9} because it was missing info so it's not enought to only change the IsSipInputMethod to 1.
I have attached the files i used, but plz realise that this one is for swedish a version. You can edit the files with notepad to adress the localized .dll file for your country.
After this to be able to use the input methods i did what nicksalgado said and change
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sip\DefaultIm
to {42429691-ae04-11d0-a4f8-00aa00a749b9} to use Block recognizer as default im

I have the "RUU_Topaz_S_HTC_SPA_2.16.412.1_Radio_Sign_Topaz_61.44tc.25.32_4.49.25.17_Ship", and has the same problem that you describe. I use the HTC Pure from AT&T, and in the original AT&T ROM the Block Recognizer work it just fine. Is there a way to captura a cab to use to solve this problem from the original AT&T Rom?? Regards
OK The tweak worked for me. Now I have got rid of that annoying keyboard. Anyway I would like to have the option of choosing the keyboard in a drop down list like before the rom update. Now the block recognizer is the one and only input method.

It's not a good idea to use a full backup file from one device to a different one.

i really hated myself for upgrading my x2 to mr2. i lost the transcriber/letter/block recognizer which i really found helpful...
i installed both files already but did not notice any changes, there is still no transcriber...
do i have to open a program in the file manager?
You have to tap on the keyboard icon on bottom when in a parogram that uses keyboard. Then the selection comes up. I guess since those programs are not installed by SE in ROM, they don't appeat in the keyboard setting.
But when you are in Word i.e., you can tap on the bottom and then select the other options. Hope that helps........
thank you very much mike. but i already did that. there is no selection (block/letter/etc) that pops out. instead, it is still the screen keyboard. it made me feel like installing the two cab files did not work... i did a soft reset already. the screenshots attached by _____ did not appear....
im still hoping there might be something wrong, which may be fixed with the help of people around here... what do you think? i really want the letter recognizer back... i tried to use "calligrapher" program but the recognition was too slow...

i was not able to pay attention on michalelthemage's instruction.... guys! this fix works! JUST LONG PRESS THE KEYBOARD ICON and four menus will pop out... keyboard, transcriber, block and letter recognizer...

I used to switch between transcriber and keyboard... when i long press button it takes 10 to 12 seconds to display the menu where i could switch between transcriber and keyboard.... is this the same for everyone ?.... why it takes so long to display the options screen....
