activesync error code: 0x8600050d - redux
Hi,
I just started getting this error. I have an HTC Touch Pro 2 running WM6.5. Tried a few solutions suggested elsewhere (unchecking usb to pc on phone settings, etc.) Was going to follow advice re deleting and re-establishing partnership but there is some data on the phone that is not on my computer and some on my computer that is not on my phone. Recently updated some contact info on the phone and even before this error message it didn't sync to the computer. I have contacts on the phone that are not on the PC. I did recently clean up contacts on the PC since at some point I ended up with a lot of duplicates - but I may have inadvertently deleted some unintentionally. I thought they'd "come back" when I synced since they were on the phone but that didn't happen. Similarly I made some changes in my calendar on the PDA, e.g., in the notes section on a particular appointment that didn't show up on the PC. So I'm afraid about losing data. Sorry to be so long.

New AT&T ROM now having Active Sync problems

I'm needing help. I flashed to the new ROM, 1.62.502.0. I did the Soft Reset thing to remove the Bloatware and restored my PIM with Sprite. After I reset my device ID I connected with Active Sync.
Now I'm stuck with Active Sync appearently in the process of "Synchronizing", however it's doing it for two hours....and it still isn't completed. I blew out the Active Sync on the PC and reloaded it, and now it is showing a second PC but still is the synchronizing endless loop...and I only have it set to sync a few files and Notes.
Can someone help me out with any suggestions?
Since no one has offered to help....Does anyone know of a place where I can get some help?
An update: I was able to sync just fine before I flashed to AT&T's new ROM. Plus I am still able to sync with my laptop, so the problem appears to be with my PC. I can also load programs and explore my PPC with the PC, however the sync process never proceeds past the "synchronizing" phase, i.e. the "processing" and then to the "connected" phase. I have un-installed and reloaded ActiveSync several times.
If no one knows ar has a suggestion....can someone point me to a third party syncronizing program....I'm really up the creek here.....
I think you would have more luck at the At&t customer forums, as people here generally don't use OEM Rom's.
Here is a link, using the search "tilt active sync not working": http://forums.wireless.att.com/cng/search?submitted=true&q=tilt+active+sync+not+working

active sync issue w/ new rma

i just got a new phone do2 rma from that auto complete problem i was talkin about earlier.
I made sure i backed up everything to outlook & did the sprite backup. however now i am trying to sync the phone & im not able to sync on my laptop or my desktop for some reason. do i need to reinstall sync to remove my old phones settings from the PC's or something? or is it a problem on phone that'd prevent any successful sync's?

WTF? i just lost all my contacts/tasks/calendar

OK.... so ive had my phone attached to my Vista machine all day... nothing out of the ordinary there.... i unplug it to take some pics... then when i go to email the photo, it says there aren't any contacts... so i figured it was just being weird.... i reboot... AND EVERYTHING REALLY IS GONE!!! lol
what the F**K!!!
Has anyone experienced this!? can the PIM file become corrupt or anything? Is there anyway i can get it all back? :'(
(txts/emails haven't been lost)
Thanks
If it's been plugged in, presumably it's been syncing with your desktop Outlook or Exchange server? Contacts/Tasks/Calendar suggests an activesync issue rather than some kind of data loss on the device, especially if other things are still intact. It may be you need to resync and/or check for deleted items on the desktop.

That's the thing though, i setup the sync partnership to not sync anything (i just use the connection to use a remote desktop tool).
Plus, none of my personal data from my phone has synced with my PC ...
ARGH
ARGH is the right answer! I store all of that data on an exchange server and just re-sync when I flash a new ROM, clear storage, or just mess everything up from tinkering.
Happened to me once when I tried to charge my phone with a USB cable connected to a laptop that didn't have Outlook. I ended up with no contacts, no calendar entries and no tasks.
Soo annoying - i havent even changed anything on my phone/PC.. it's just randomly decided to erase it all... no mention of sync conflicts... nothing.
I dont know what to direct my anger and hatred at.. Vista or Windows Mobile.....
I'm thinking.... vista
happened to me before lost 150 contacts, only had 50 on SIM. Sucks I was freaking out when I didn't have anything in my contacts. Same thing I unchecked all boxes and just use it to connect to SOTI pocket controller.
When i got home and tried to sync with my home PC, it started the 'new partnership' wizard... so somehow it seems the whole damn sync relationship had been deleted.... niiiiiiiiiice!
Ohh well, luckily i had most of my stuff backed up... but it's still sh***y not knowing why this happened...
I had a look in the ActiveSync log - can't really make any sense of it though... there's nothing obviously wrong in there :S
Oh well!
I have the same experience, in fact suddenly all my SMS and outlook folder just disappear from the phone. The phone just decide to clear everything for me for no reason.
The partnership with ActiveSync or Mobile Center just disappear for no reason and I need to re-establish them every now and then. Not sure it is a HW issue or SW issue.

Syncing Problem to a New Computer

I have a Tilt. It syncs fine to my old laptop which just dies on Sunday.
I have a NEW laptop which has a slightly different name.
The Tilt is going to sync flawlessly to the new computer - it started and I stopped it because it was going to duplicate my 1350 contacts etc.
I would like the system to realize that the contacts are identical on each system and that no sync is needed.
I told it not to sync at this time - it then immediately started syncing and found 0/1350 contacts and was about to start duplication when I stopped it.
Has anyone done this before? I am suspicious that I am going to hae to MANUALLY delete one by one the contact in my phone so that when it syncs it will not duplicate - if this is really what I need to do - does anyone have a quick way to purge the contacts in a phone?
Thanks
Bill
If your old laptop is dead I can assume you won't ever use it again to sync, so:
On the phone, open ActiveSync, Menu->options, delete any partnerships there.
Connect to the PC, recreate partnership, and on first sync it should give you a popup asking what to do (sync, phone replaces PC, PC replaces phone). Choose PC replaces phone. All the info on the phone will be deleted and replaced by the PC's data.
This is what I've been doing numerous times when formatting my PC. I would sync before formatting, then save Outlook's PST file, format, restore my stuff including the .pst, then sync again using the above method. I understand you restored the PST on the new computer as well.
Of course what's on the phone but not on the PC (what has been done on the phone since your last sync with the dead laptop) will be lost.

My friend, Thank you.
This forum is a wonderful place. To be able to come here and ask a question before I toddle off to sleep and have it answered perfectly before I get to work again is magical.
Please have a great day!

Phone won't sync with PC during HardSPL

First of all, I've tried searching numerous places but can't seem to duplicate my issue. My issue is, of course, is that I am getting sync errors from HardSPL.exe/Automatic Flash when trying to HardSPL the phone.
I am using ActiveSync and the phone is Connected and Sync'd - both the phone and ActiveSync reporting the phone is sync'd. I can explore the phone and the folders, etc.. located on the phone. However, when I try to run HardSPL.exe on my PC -> Automatic Flash Mode I am getting Fatal Error - The phone is not sync'd with the PC. I have unchecked Fast Data Connection; I'm not in Flight mode; Internet is active on both PC and Phone (tried on and off); Firewall and Anti-Virus are off; Hard Reset the Phone; I've re-installed Active Sync, as well as Deleted/Re-Installed my Mobile Device Profile.
I am at a loss. Any ideas? If I overlooked something please refer me.
Thanks

could you quote the full error message? you are probably getting two messages, I would need to see the exact error text of the first message.
and as for the second message that you are probably getting - is it offering the enablerapi CAB link by any chance? (btw you didn't mention whether you installed the CAB file or not. this may be needed to get it going.)
PS: it would have been better to post in the main Hard-SPL thread
Usually I've seen this problem solved by ensuring you are running with admin rights as well as confirming that you uncheck the high speed sync option for activesync on USB.
