GPS Problem - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

Hey folks,
I am a Diamond user in India and I use the Satguide software which I had bought during my Touch Cruise days. After getting the Diamond I installed the software on the Diamond. The software works fine but it is not being able to read the maps stored on the internal storage.
How do I get around this problem? In my earlier Touch Cruise the App was installed in the device memory and the maps used to reside on the storage card.
Anybody please help.
regards
Vic

Help! Garmin and my new TyTN II

Just have purchased my new toy here in Thailand. Everything works fine exept the Garmin Mobile 10 XT software delivered with the Kaiser here in Thailand. The Garmin sw is not able to find the intenal GPS receiver. (com4 as recommended on the web by several poeple).
Regardless 2 days searching on the net in this forum and anywhere else I was not able to find any answers. The only thing what I have realized that some poeple can use th software withjout any problems and some have problems like me and are not able to solve them.
Please help anyone!!!
Anyone?? Please
Is there anyone who can help?
bump.. same issue :9
maybe you will find some helpfull info on this thread LINK For me on my TyTn II Garmin Mobile XT work normaly with internal GPS(Com4)...
Ha,
you have been falling into the Garmin trap.
Garmin Mobile 10/20 a.s.o. work ONLY with the original Garmin GPS Bluetooth receiver. The internal GPS cannot be used with these versions since the unlock code for the software is the Garmin GPS receivers Bluetooth MAC address.
The only Garmin SW which works with the internal GPS is Garmin Mobile XT. But then again, you have to use the generic MicroSD card from Garmin with the SW on since the unlock code is the SD card ID (which cannot be altered).
I was in the same situation and I was able to solve the problem via the internet. Use Google to find a solution.

Thanks for Your replay Graf Zeppelin. The strange thing is the Original (no copy) CD have been delivered inside the HTC TyTN II box in Thailand from the official agent SIS (sealed with a SIS sticker) including an explaination how to install it on the SD micro card. The only thing is that the GPS receiver cant be dedected.
So, if they deliver this SW with the PDA one should expect it to work...??? I may will visit SIS or/and the agent for GARMIN in Thailand next week in order to find some answers maybe.

Memory map 2004 problems

Hi all,
just got my new tytn ii from orange, very nice, but you all know that
I have an issue using memorymap 2004 os maps, If i load a full map (350Mb) to the sd card i get the error could not open file "\storage card\memory-map-os\qct\os50_disk02.qct"
Now if instead for transfering the full map of 350 odd Mb i transfer only the visibal portion of the map (from laptop screen) about 50Mb it works fine. This will mean i will have to do 9 transfer's for each of the 6 area's i have, a bit of a pain but can be done.
I have also loaded the road map (126Mb) and that works fine
Has anyone got any idea's about this issue?
I have tried loading differant area maps and they all give the same problem.
Thanks
Vince
Vince I get the same problem on my HTC Touch HD. It has a micro-SD (8Gb) card which I put the maps onto. The software only loads a map if it is small - I don't know what the upper limit is??
I did not get a problem like this on my previous phone although there was a limit to the map size (about 250Mb-300Mb) before it just locked up the phone.
Does anybody have any ideas or solutions for this?
The maps can be carved up into smaller portions but this affects usability slightly and hammers convenience. I can't understand why my previous phone (an ancient HTC Wizard) would have handled the larger maps whilst this one (or the Kaiser) can not???
I received my Touch HD a few days ago having used a Kaiser previously. I can open a 308Mb 2004 map in Memory-Map on the Kaiser but the Touch HD won't even open a 137Mb map. They both have identical 8Gb cards and I've tried switching these and also the sim cards between the devices. So my experience is the same - the newer device handles smaller maps. WM6.1 issue perhaps?
hello,
same pb with HD and memory map 2005.
With cruise or omnia is perfect, HD not yet !!! http://forum.xda-developers.com/images/smilies/mad.gif
If somebody find a solution ....
Thanks all

[Q] Installing Tomtom7 into Chinese Car Stereo/GPS on SD card

Hello all!
I appreciate this is kind off piste from the traditional topics, but I am starting to get desperate to find a straightforward solution to my issue. And as there will be people on this forum that have experience with Windows CE 5.0 as well as Tomtom 7, and getting them to run on all sorts of devices, I thought I would take a punt to see if anyone can provide advice.
First off, I have a Chinese double DIN car stereo unit installed in my car. website is http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/352281835/2_Din_Car_DVD_GPS_DVB.html
Now, the GPS portion of the system is a Windows CE platform running version 5. It launches into a shell application from which you select the navigator software, which is all based on an 2GB SD card. I believe it comes with 64MB of built in RAM, and the system is set up so that all software, applications, etc would be launched from an SD card.
The GPS system comes pre-loaded with iGo8 on the SD card. but my wife hates it, and she prefers tomtom (even thought the maps might be a little old). So I am trying to find a way to get the tomtom 7 software to work on this platform. So it will need to be installed into a 2GB SD card, and be compatible with wince5.0 with 64mb of ram.
can anyone point me in the right direction with this?
Thanks
...Shameless bump
Really? Is no one even able to sign-post me in the right direction?
I will take any advice, any idea, any opinion.
Please help!
Gene
Ive got no idea about sat navs..... Sorry
