When synchronizing with my company I automatically get a security police that locks the device with a pin code when not using it for 60 seconds.
Is it possible to somehow hack this policy so I can have it locked after 180 seconds instead of 60 ?? or more?
Thanx
No it's not possible
Just ask your System Administrator if is it possible to increase this delay

Anyone devs out there know how to set the security lockscreen to only appear after a certain amount of inactive time has lapsed (rather than instantly when the phone sleeps)?
These days our smartphones hold so much info about us that a security lock is well advised, but when you have to put the pattern/pin in immediately every single time the screen times out, it is just tiresome.
I miss the function on my old nokia N95 and my previous iPhone 3G which would let you set the security lock to activate after say 15mins of inactivity, but within that time if you returned to your phone you just had to undo the keylock.
I understood this was meant to be in 2.2 as a security option called "Lock phone after" but I can't find it anywhere :-(
We're now on 2.3.3 official and 2.3.4 imminent but still have to labouriously enter the PIN about a thousand times a day.
Two week old device, running 4.4 build number 13.11.1q2.x-69-3
Daydream is turned off, timeout is set to 30 sec (but have tried 15 and 60 without change)
The screen will dim at that time but remain unlocked and on.. it first started when charging but now happens nearly daily. Restarting will fix it for a couple minutes. Any ideas? ? Should I warranty the device?
Bump
Anyone? This is stock launcher, no widgets as close to out of the box as possible really..
I tried Battery Stats+ but with KitKat requires Xposed so that isnt an option..
Not sure why, but it seems like every other time I turn my tablets screen on it wants my password to be typed in rather than fingerprint because of security policy. I never had this issue in 5.1.1
Anyone else noticing this or know of a way to fix?
It's set up to request pin after each reboot or 24 hours of inactivity. Do either of these apply to your situation?

It definitely does it each reboot. I never really go >24hours without touching it, but I'm sure it would ask for it then too. It asks for password after much less time than 24 hours to me, also seems to do it when I change locations (i.e. when I get home from work). It's become so frequent and annoying that I've set a basic, easily-hacked PIN rather than the lengthy, complex password I was using on 5.1.1. Also, even though I've set my car stereo as a smartlock trusted device, it frequently asks me for the PIN whenever I get in my car and start driving (I use tab for music/nav).
The fingerprint sensor on this tablet has never been anywhere near as good as on my nexus phone, often taking 2-3 tries for it to read it, but now that it won't even accept my print for unlocking the device 1/2 the time it's able to read it, it's to the point where I just dont even bother and just skip it and go to PIN entry instead
DAMN. Mine was working fine until I read your post. Now fingerprint recognition has gone wonky. Trying full wipe / reset to see if I can clear things up (maybe app / setting issue).
Hi,
I've had this phone for a few weeks now and noticed something weird which I think is an issue.
Every time I restart my A30, like normal phones, it will ask for my security pattern to login for the first time after restart.
Here's the issue:
When I restart my A30, and just leave it without logging-in (say you can wait from 10 minutes to a few hours).
As soon as I login and enter my security pattern, the A30 comes up with "Phone starting" and starts to load up the apps.
So it was sitting there for an hour or what not, it seems like it is on a suspended restart until you login.
This got me because I have a scheduled phone restart at 3am everyday and my morning alarm fails because the apps has not loaded yet waiting for me to login.
Has anyone have the same issue with their A30.
Thanks,
Jay
Have you enabled the auto restart in Device Care? if you do.. you can turn it off.
I am facing the same issue with my galaxy a30 3 month old only
Tried hard resetting twice ..still the issue exists
I'm guessing this must be a hardware problem.
Can anyone help out please
Have you tried to disable data strong protection?

Thankyou for your reply but this Didn't help with the random restarts
I started noticing this after the latest update
My watch always locks itself when I'm not wearing it (I have SPay).
Can I do something against this?
i.e.: disable locking when phone is connected over BT? Or in general, disable locking and only ask Pin when SPay is opening?
Anyone?
I have a Watch 4 and am using SPay on the watch. It requires a pin to be set on the watch, but as long as I am wearing my watch, once I unlock it, it stays unlock. The security section on the watch settings even says this. Not sure if you are having an issue or if the Watch 5 is different. If the watch is too loose, it will not detect that you are wearing it and will lock.
Same for me: what I wish to avoid is to enter the code every time when I drop this watch onto charger (for example).
No issues during I wear it, but as soon as I remove from my wrist, it keeps locking itself. It's pretty understandable function, but still I wish to disable. When I'm home and the watch is on charger, there is no point of locking itself.
Only way is to disable SPay. Then you can remove the PIN. This is done to keep SPay secure if someone else were to pick up your watch.

Yes but what is the purpose of let's say: I remove it from my watch and immediately locks itself. Robbery?

It's an intentional limitation of Android's security store. The credit card details are saved encrypted on a secure piece of hardware and a password is an inherent limitation of activating the secured storage.
Yes, but what's the purpose of disabling the whole UI after removal? Example: I can't activate water lock after removal.
This system compared to Tizen feels way worse in many aspects.
