Yeah, seen this design in many cloned phones.
These are made by chinese companies, using MTC chipset hardware with own UI/OS.
These phones are not using any windows mobile system, nor is the camera really 3.2MP (not to speak of autofocus , but only VGA.
This hardware design is also found as "Hiphone" (iPhone clone from HK) and many more..
Interesting thing though is the capability for DualSIM / Dual Standby and some models even feature Analog or Digital TV.
Nevertheless, this is just a cheap rip-off clone.

im going to get one
im in hong kong in a month...will grab one then and play with it.

I actually have 5 of these.. trying to figure out how to unlock them.

LOL, cool as mp3 player or secondary phone xD

I ordered one yesterday If annyone has questions about this phone, pm me in about 10 days
At this moment I'm wondering what camera it has. I'm allmost sure that it has a 0,3 megapixel camera, but a lot of websites say that it's 1,3 or even 3 or 13 megapixels. Others talk about lacpixels. I didn't know what it was so i googled it. It's a unit in the Indian numbering system and it stands for 100.000. So if it's 3 lacpixels, it would be 0,3 megapixels.
I know for sure it has NO windows mobile, but it's own firmware wich looks pretty nice with it's HTC home screen(no touch flow, only the home screen, i think)
For as far as i read about it, it looks a lot cheaper when you have it in your hand and it might give problems with the touch sensitivity.
I can't find anything about a webbrowser or email client in it, but according to the specs, it should have gprs.
The phone has a dual sim slot and should be able to have both sim cards in standby at the same time. I've seen a lot fake phones that have allmost the same specifications as this one(most of them where iPhone clones), most of them had dualsim, but none of them could have them both in standby at the same time.
I ordered this phone just to play with, but according to the information i found, i wouldn't recommend it as a primary phone.
I only paid $ 99,90 for it at Deal Extreme
(please be aware of the network frequency, only Europe and Asia might be supported..)

I know that this tread is older but its not that old. So what have you found out rubenmiddel? I am looking at possible getting one of these and using it on my att cell service, if this is at all possible. It looks good, sounds great, and looks like a good placement in my cell service.

hi ....i have this phone.
can anyone tell me where to get games and/or software for it .
im not sure where to look and what to look for, as it doent run on windows the touch diamond stuff doent work.
also would be good for a link to hints/tips setting the phone up and stuff as i cant get mms messaging to work....can recieve them but not download them and cant send them at all...sms and phoning work tho when i goto phone sum1 it dials an ip and doent connect ...i have to view then number then dial to get it to work....apart from this its a neat phone

Exactly where I saw it! It's $80 shipped So to those that have it, is it worth the money or just a paper weight? I want to use it on Tmobile here in the US, I'm not even sure if it will work.

Turn your Kaiser into an electronic picture frame

Electronic picture frames are slowly catching on, and we all have gigabytes of family pictures on our desktops at home, but dont have much opportunity to see them.
Ive just bought a Tilt, which has the ideal design for either a desktop clock or a small picture frame. I tether every day, so its normally sitting next to my laptop, powered, but doing nothing.
My solution is in 2 parts. 1 free and 1 will cost $9.95
First, how to get your pictures on the device. This is simple using the media synchronizing abilities of active sync and desktop Windows Media Player.
First enable the media sync plug-in in activesync, then go to Windows Media Player and go to the sync tab with your device plugged in. There you should see your device as a sync-able storage device. Select it, chose to create a new sync profile, be sure to remove all the ones that are already there by default, choose to sync pictures, and add a further criteria to only sync say 10 MB. Set it to sync automatically.
This will copy about 10 Mb of photos (shrunk down to 320x211 resolution) to your device, to a Pictures folder at the root of your device.
Next you need an app called Dockwave Pro. This is not free (they do offer a free version, but it does not have the configuration options we need). Install it, point it to the pictures folder on your device, set the time out and the job is done.
Now every time your device is powered and idle for a few minutes, you will be surprised by a random selection of photos from your collection.
There is not much detail in this post, as I'm not sure how many people are interested, but it obviously can be fleshed out more with screen shots etc if there is enough interest. For a Tilt/Kaiser user its near perfect of course, as the device almost seemed designed for the role.
BTW, there is a built-in option in the built-in picture viewer, under options/slide show to play a screen saver of the pictures under the My Documents\My Pictures directory if your device is idle for 2 minutes, but Windows Media Player wont synchronize pictures to a directory accessible to that software, and the transitions are poorer.

Interesting idea. Could probably whip up a custom app for that. Now comes the problem. I have no pictures! (I should really get a camera, lol )

I think you may have a decent 3 megapixel one lying around
If you are going to make a custom viewer, you really need to try out Google photo screen saver out for inspiration. It has a brilliant zoom and pan mode which really brings your pictures to life, and it also downloads pics via RSS, which makes for a nice ever-changing performance.

Right Too bad it has no flash and even though it has 3MP the quality is nothing to write home about. I mean a real camera, that takes pictures I want to keep

Overkill I think for on a 320x240 device, but who knows. I don't even know if or when I'm going to do this, just an idea
Well, Chainfire,
For one, I would LOVE to see what you could come up with for a custom application! To test it out, just download a few pics from someplace....
$9.95 isn't bad...but something that matches the elegance of our Kaiser/Tilts is deserving of something GREAT!

Coreplayer 1.2.3 and youtube

Version 1.2.3 came out this week and I have downlaoded it. However, far from solving the youtube problem (i.e. where the spinning wheel goes round forever) the spinning wheel just blinks for a second and then nothing.
Is anyone else having this problem? IIf not, what are your settings for buffering etc?
I had the problem with wheel spinning around forever but only if I had was connected via T-Mobiles WnW Plus GPRS. If connected to WiFi then the video would start playing. I just presumed that T-Mobile were blocking the ports, is that the case?

I have t-mobile too and they definitely prohibit streaming video using WMP on the basic webnwalk tariff. However, youtube works for me using either VTAP or the tcmp/flashbundle. So I still don't understand why there should be a problem with Coreplayer

I'm with AT&T Wireless here in the United States, and I'm using The Core Player on my Tilt and YouTube works fine for me. My buffering settings are as follows-
Normal buffer size 2400 KB
Preload at underrun 70.0%
Preload for audio 64 KB
YouTube on Core Player works fine for me on EDGE, 3G and WiFi.

I have the same settings, but still no joy
You WILL be limited on the quality of the feed based on many factors... let me explain... CorePlayer is the first media player to feature Configurable YouTube quality control.... You control the bandwidth and quality that your platform can handle. From Low, Medium, to High quality (H.264) streams.
What happens if you get a 'buffering' icon forever.... that means that its a connectivity issue, BW or device capabilities.... So what we are going to do to make it easier for those less fortunite to have infinite BW resources is:
- Add our progressive download support sooner rather then later. This will help to cache/playback content
- Add an 'auto seek' for the quality setting to make it more seemless.
Here are some more things you may not be aware of.... as well as some things you can do with YouTube in CorePlayer:
- Disable YouTube 'Tools > Preferences > Select Page > Network' and uncheck 'Enable YouTube Support' Restart and its gone
- Set stream/quality 'Tools > Preferences > Select Page > Network > YouTube Format'
* Low (RTSP) default video resolution / audio
** Medium (RTSP) 448x336 44100hz
*** High (H.264) 480x360 44100hz
- Change the default YouTube Profile to be shown 'Tools > Preferences > Select Page > Network > YouTube User' change to the user you wish
- Use http://m.youtube.com on Pocket IE (mobile) or IE (desktop) and click "play' to play a video in CorePlayer.
- See previously played YT videos in the CoreTheque Media Library under 'Top 50', '100 Last Played' or 'Not Rated'
- Open YouTube Videos the 'EASY' way. 'File > Open URL' youtube://123456 (replace 123456 with the video ID, for example http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=123456 )
Also note that SOME european users that sit behind a cell PROXY will not be able to connect... now we are getting reports that is some instances that our HTTP Tunneling support does work.... but there is not much we can do in this case as its a limition of the carrier.
ONE LAST THING.... this is just the beginning.... Starting with the next release we will have a HUGE new feature page called 'Channels' that will have many of the webs top video sites.... DailyMotion, Break.com, Revision3 (with DiggNation, TekZilla, The Digg Reel), CNET, etc.
Heres a sneak peak of just DailyMotion

The funny thing is that it worked fine on a slightly older version of Coreplayer so I can't be 100% that it is my provide T-Mobile as I do have the Plus version of the data package which should allow everything but VOIP.

Hey BetaBoy,
will there be a Save Video feature in upcoming releases?
In my opinion, the only missing feature...

We are thinking about how best to do this. IE; a similar function like Quicktime Pro where it allows you to 'save' video. We will however need to add progressive downloading first... but this is planned for 1.3.x anyway.

are you referring to the QTv incompability? if so go to video settings and chose another renderer (DirectDraw works fairly well under the new 6.1 ROMs)

Yes, but "fairly well" is not enough neither GDI is "good enough"
CoreCodec did confirmed yesterday on their community site that QTV is indeed not supported in WM6.1 and that they are looking into this now.
Which makes me thinking that HTC did changed rendering DLL's blocking QTV
I changed the Normal buffer size to 480kb as well enabled microdrive mode(not sure what it does or is) and now it works fine on Rogers 3G where as before it would just keep loading.

Converting Films, and Playing on the TD2

After much trial and error I have finally got films playing at an acceptable quality on my TD2.
I have looked at a lot of threads from the Touch HD forum and tried quite a few programs including DVD Fab, the Touch HD ‘Encoder’, Super, Mp4ForHD and a few others I can’t even remember.
What I have found works best ‘for me’ is this combination:
Use DVD Decrypter from here http://www.dvddecrypter.org.uk/to remove the encryption on the DVD, and to also transfer it to your hard drive.
Then I use Handbrake from here http://handbrake.fr/ using this setup I can batch convert films instead of one by one by using Handbrake alone.
Steps:
1. DVD Decrypter
2. Using the default settings I select where I want the film to be stored, then just click on the bottom Icon.
3. This takes about 25 minutes depending on the disc.
4. Handbrake
5. Someone on one of the many threads I saw recommended to use the ipod legacy settings, and while this helped, it fell a little short, so I adjusted and came up with the following settings
6. Select Source (this would be where you saved the files previously)
7. I leave Title as is, as long as the Duration looks the right length
8. Browse for a location to save to finished file (make sure you add .m4v to the name)
9. Settings:
a. Format M4Vb. Picture Settingsi. Automaticii. Width / Height –Leave Blankiii. Anamorphic – Noneiv. Other settings leave off / unchecked
{

}
c. Videoi. Video - Video Codec – H.264 (x264)ii. Video - Framerate – Same as Sourceiii. Quality – Target Size – Leave Blankiv. Quality – Avg Bitrate 1000v. Quality - Constant Quality 0%
d. Audio & Subtitlesi. Source – Select English (or your language) IMPORTANT, This will need to be selected for each film you convert, the settings won’t be savedii. Audio Codec – AACiii. Mixdown – Stereoiv. Sample Rate 48 kHzv. Bitrate 128 kbps
10. I leave Chapters, Advanced and Query Editor alone.
11. Now you can Click ‘Start’, but this will only do one at a time (and as explained in the Handbrake docs, if the GUI crashes you lose the conversion) so I always select ‘Add to Queue’
12. Now you can either ‘Run’ the queue or once you have added the current file to the queue you can now start from Selecting Source and recheck the settings, then ‘Add to Queue’ with the next film, great for batch converting.
Now for me it takes about four hours for each film, so its not quick, but my PCs fairly old (P4 3.0 Mhz, 1500mb RAM), but considering it has to change each frame of the film I don’t think that’s bad.
Once its all done you end up with around a 1-1.5 gb file, transfer this to an SD card.
For viewing I use only HTC Album for these files, both Coreplayer and WMP don’t perform as well (if at all), also although HTC Album is limited in its settings, there is a simple way to convert the picture from Letterbox, to Full Screen, to Cropped (as long as you haven’t entered anything in the picture size ‘Width / Height’ settings) by using the square button on the right hand side when playing a film.
Note 1: I discounted some of the programs I tried because they couldn’t merge the vob (DVD files) files into a single output file, unless you wanted to use yet another program to do this (‘Vob Merge’ can do this, although I never tried it)
Note 2: To avoid any ‘issues’ this should only be used for DVDs you already own.
Just thought I’d share my experience as it took me quite a while to get the results I wanted.
Please feel feel to let me know what your thoughts are.View attachment 203674

That's a good one,but Oh My God! Does that mean the TD2 won't be able to play .avi or .divx? I thought I will just drag and drop my PC videos/movies to the TD2 and it will play flawlessly. I really hate this converting thing..

Oh do not worry
I never converted a divx for my TD2.
Never had a problem
But i think if the film is converted our TD2 will drain the battery not fast as not converting at all (just my opinion and NOT confirmed by tests)
Or perhaps it is ok to convert when a divx has a VERY high bitrate.
for me i dont have convert i just use coreplayer to play my movie files
Sorry, I should have made it clearer, but this is for DVD's only, as for most people trying to play 4gb + vob files taken straight from a DVD would pose problems!
As for other formats, it all down to what works best for you.
this is post number 9999999 about the subject, and in many experiences it doesn't really matter which converter u use, but the settings are important, and also important to know is that the mediaplayer that comes with your TD2 (i'm talking about the one that looks like windows mediaplayer) can run HDvideo on your TD2, which for me is the only way i want to watch anyway, cause any other player can't use the diamond 2's HD acceleration for video....
so convert to mp4 (h.264). look up the proper thread for it somewhere in the topaz threads. it's out there somewhere. worked great for me, and gives me the maximum quality on my td2.

windroid china phones

I came across this.
WinDroid - Windows 6.5 Pro + Android Smartphone with GPS
The results are in. The new WinDroid Smartphone is hands-down the most versatile smartphone on the planet. Here’s why:
The Best of Both Worlds
For the first time ever you can take advantage of today’s two best operating systems in one powerful and compact cellphone. For business people on the go the Windroid features the latest Windows 6.5 professional OS. This allows you to easily sync this phone with Outlook Express email as well as edit your Excel, PowerPoint and Word files all while away from your desk. When work is over simply select the popular Android OS and let the fun begin!
With the Android OS (developed by Google) you have the ability to customize and enhance this phone exactly how you like it. Simply download and install the Android Marketplace application, then select from thousands of new games, ringtones, wallpapers, applications and more- all from the convenience of your mobile phone. The Android OS also provides you with full integration of your Gmail accounts, Google calendar, Google maps and much more. Sounds fantastic right? Well, this is only the beginning...
First-class Design
The WinDroid provides a truly enjoyable experience that is sure to satisfy the senses. This is accomplished by using a colorful and vibrant 3.2 inch touchscreen that responds instantly to the slightest touch of your fingertip or stylus. The touchscreen sits flush into the phones all-flat surface and makes “sliding and sweeping” your finger to browse through web pages, photos, and eBooks both easy and convenient.
The in-hand feel is very comfortable too. That’s because this smartphone is only 14mm thick and is ergonomically designed so that only a single hand is needed to access the entire feature set. Another highlight is the touch-sensitive flush mount buttons located on the bottom of the phone which provide you with quick access to the call, end call and menu functions. The buttons vibrate when pressed and provide a unique look and feel to this already attractive cellphone.
Powerful Hardware
Tech junkies will be pleased to know that the WinDroid is no slouch; let’s take a look inside. At the heart of this device is the time-tested Marvell PXA310 CPU running at a swift 624 MHz. This is more than enough power to enjoy CPU demanding tasks such as watching your favorite high resolution movies, rendering complex webpages like YouTube or playing the latest video games. The WinDroid also features a powerful 802.11 b/g wireless card for lightning fast internet speeds as well as the Inner Sirf III GPS chip for use with your favorite GPS software. Powerful enough? We think so.
And There’s More!
Due to space limitations we cannot talk about every single feature this smartphone has to offer. But additional highlights include: full Bluetooth support, a true 2 megapixel camera/camcorder that captures beautiful images, GPS compatibility with popular software like TomTom and iGo, full Google Maps support, Skype support, MSN support and a powerful multimedia decoder for enjoying videos, photos, music and eBooks. The WinDroid smartphone offers all of these and many more high quality features that are sure to keep you entertained, increase efficiency, and keep you at the forefront of technology.

[Q] LJDA 2 Din Android 8.1 Car Multimedia Player - Putting custom rom!?

Hello First I apologize for your bad English.
Months ago I bought this DIN 2 player, but I have a lot of problems with it, but I do not know if there are problems with the operating system with ROM, or the problems are hardware, so I decided to write here.
First - a problem with the mobile internet. Presumably, it has to work with a 4G USB modem, but it does not have configuration options and settings. I had to use 3rd party applications to go to mobile settings, but something is wrong and I can not turn on the mobile internet, although there are indications that the modem is working and the device recognizes it.
Second- problems with RCA outputs that only work in DVB mode, which I find absurd if you ask me, especially a device with youtube, Netflix, etc.
Third - the lack of DEVELOPER MODE, in the settings, although it is turned on. I have to reuse 3rd party apps to get in.
Fourth - WIFI CAST- miracast, missing in settings and options, although it is included in Developer mode. Because of the lack of constant RCA output, the inability to emit a USB to HDMI signal, for unknown reasons just does not work, I decided to try out with a WiFi display. I have the only progress with EZ cast, but then either I have to be tethered to the WIFI 4G modem in my car or the EZ cast in Mirror mode but I want to have both like I have it with my Android Phone.
If I think I can find more problems, think about it all from the bad ROM, or it's hardware issues. Here's the device information:

Hi AntrAcsA, you are in luck! Being an MTCE PX5 you can install custom ROMs easily and there is lots of developer support for your unit.
Head over to the MTCD/MTCE forum here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android-auto/mtcd-android-head-units-general
I can address a few of your problems:
1) Unfortunately 4G modems are not supported on this platform. The only option is using a 4G Wifi adapter like the Huawei E8372. Some 3G modems can be directly supported apparently.
2) Yes the RCA out is not attached to Android directly and cannot be used to mirror the screen. Some manufacturers have it set up differently but most just aren't built that way.
3) Developer mode should work, have you pressed the build number 7 times? In any case, installing a custom ROM will get around this issue
4) WIFI Cast - I haven't used this function so I can't provide any suggestions sorry!
For custom ROM I would highly recommend Hal9K 3.1.1 ROM. It is pre-rooted and really easy to install if you are already on OREO 8.0. just follow the instructions on the thread:

I second that.
Also about point 4: use easy connection apk instead with your phone in developer mode and usb debugging enabled. The apk is available @hal9k threads or you could download it from playstore. I have already tried it and it works.

1) Yes, I have Unlocked New Huawei E8372 E8372h-608 with Antenna 4G LTE 150Mbps WiFi Modem 4G USB Modem Dongle 4G Carfi Modem PK E8377, this one :
The modem works fine. I connected to my PC it works when I connect to my 2Din player, the player shows that has the mobile network but .. I do not have internet at all. I was unable to open " mobile configuration " options so I download 3rd party app for that, but when I write all settings for my 4g provider.. nothing happens, still, there is no 3g or 4g internet to DIN2. I connect via WIFI to the modem and.. it works I have internet but, when I run Mirror cast, Miracast via Ezcast with Ezcat Dongle it uses WIFI connection and.. then I have no internet that's mean I cant use youtube or **** like that . Sorry, maybe I do not explain very well...
2) ahh.. to bad.. I was thinking its some ' code ' or software configuration. I saw in youtube that there are a device like that that have RCA all the time
3) Yes, I know how to unlock the developer mode, but after I press 7 times it says that now I have unlocked it but... I can't find it in settings.
4) I see no problem mate you have a lot anyway
I was thinking to try to install Hal9k_Mod_3.1_MTCD_MTCE_PX5_1024x600_800х480_eng but one noob question again, do I need to install any other, old versions of his Rom, or I can install 3.1 directly?
